4G outage/ Billing - HTC Rezound

I've noticed in the past few month's that my bill has been excessively cheap and when talking to Verizon they said everytime there's an outage I get credited. And the only reason I called and asked is because I didn't want a bill next month saying $700 because this or that was taken off and added for next month. Anyone else notice this also.

Yes I'm unlimited.

My e-bill that I got the other today didn't reflect the payment I had made 10 days ago, I was PISSED. I went online and looked and it was reflected on Verizon website. Not sure why the bill can't keep up? It would make sense if it was a hard copy, but that isn't the case.

Sprint and Google Play no longer doing Carrier billing?

Has anyone else tried to purchase an app in the last couple of days using Carrier billing in Google Play? I have tried the last couple of days and while it shows my Sprint account when I goto pay, it won't let me select it. It is greyed out and all I can use is one of my credit cards that have been saved.
I am wondering if this has something to do with Google Wallet being broken on the Lte? Anyone else having this issue? I was going to call Sprint on my lunch break and see what they had to offer as well.

Well just got off the phone with Sprint. First it was supposedly on Google's end so I asked to speak with someone else. Next tech initially said that they no longer allow carrier billing and it stopped about three months ago. When I explained that I just used it over the weekend and that Sprint had just recently announced a partnership with Google Play for all store items she seemed confused and put me on hold. Then came back and said that my bill was behind so Google turned it off??? Next I informed her that actually my account is over paid by $80 she was even more upset and flustered. I thought she put me on hold again but she had just hung up on me. In the end she must have cleared my account as the apps I was trying to purchase I was able to.
Talk about horrible service and way to make sure your tech support team is well trained Sprint. What a joke...

My account was showing past due as well last month, when it clearly wasn't. I called in and they couldn't explain it either, but I got good service on the phone. My phone rep was very helpful and was going to call and follow up next month to make sure I wasn't charged anything extra.
To bring up an old subject, the other day I tried to buy an App. I kept getting an error, so I cleared the cache for the Play Store. and now I don't even have an obtion to bill to carrier. Any ideas?

It could be a Rom issue I know in the past I wasn't able to on certain roms. I haven't tried in a while but I did purchase some songs a few weeks ago. I believe I was on one of the earlier builds of meanbean. Try doing a back up and flashing a stock rom.

I have carrier billing. Always did. I heard a rumor if you don't pay your bill on time the option gets removed till you make a few consecutive payments on time. At least that's what a sprint Rep told my sister when she called to complain about not having the option.
I posted screenshots earlier today on another post regarding this matter showing I have the option. I'm never late on bills or ever have been so maybe that's why.

Upgrade to EVO 4G LTE by buying out contract

My sister wants to get this phone and she is still on the EVO 4G.
I told her she could just buy out her contract if she wants the full discount. It's only $50.00 (she's a few months out).
The Corporate Sprint store said she had to hand in her old EVO 4G to do the Buyout. She wants to keep it and sell it (she already got offered like $130.00 for it).
She called Sprint and she said she had to go to a Store to do it.
I thought you could just call up sprint, payoff contract and then buy and Sprint phone after full discount from any authorized dealer with a 2 year renewel.
And sell your old phone any old time you want.
I bought out of my contract no problem...they never asked for me to return anything back....besides that she paid for her of EVO with her money I would call again and speak to a diffrent service rep....

You were most likely given bad information. Call again.

No point in calling again. That info is correct. Sprint modified the program. It is no longer being performed thru customer care. It is now being done in the stores and a buyback of the old device IS required. You were told correctly. Customer care can't offer this anymore. It must be done in the stores. This was done to reduce issues from the previous program.

Unless that changed in the last couple of months, its nonsense. Or unless my situation was different. I had three lines on my account and terminated two of them for $50 each over the phone and didn't have to give them a thing.

Couldn't a person just buy some piece of junk on craigs list, activate it on the line and give them that? (moment old blackberry etc) My kid has an epic touch with a crack in the screen that only can be seen with the screen off and they want to give him 40 bucks for it, i don't think so.

A couple of internal docs regarding the new buy-out program were posted on Inside Sprint Now, which of course doesn't exist any more. Yes, starting in the second half of June early buy-outs are only supposed to be done through corp stores and yes, you have to turn in the phone that Sprint gave you in the previous upgrade cycle. The fee depends on the age of the current phone. It is a new program though, so you might still be able to do it the old way by calling customer service and without trading in your current phone, just depends on CSR's knowledge and luck.
Wow, just another reason to leave Sprint I guess. I think that's pretty dumb, as you essentially loose the money you paid for the device. Unless the money you paid to get the device is somehow subtracted from the price you pay to buy out the contract.
yeah this is bs, why would i pay off the rest of the fone just to turn in the fone and buy a new contract.... if sprint keeps this, they are gonna use alot of business....
You people are ridiculous....
How about you wait until your contract is up then? Then you can upgrade and keep your phone. If u want to upgrade early this is how you have to do it. Otherwise don't do it. Simple. Yet another reason to leave sprint? Lol. That sounds silly. Please explain to me how other providers run their buyout programs.

I think it's ridiculous when folks say I can't do X because they are under contract.
ok so i guess we're pretending that they didn't just take away the premire upgrades. you should be able to buy out the rest of your contract and not have to turn in the phone too, thats not a good deal, say you pay 165 to end your contract and then have to turn in a 500+ plus phone just do get a new one, might as well just pay the etf and keep the phone, u could actually make more money to get a new phone this way.

Just depends on the phone you have.
This is one specific program.. there are others
The push with buyback of the current phone in this specific program is the increased need for phone recycling, which sprint currently leads in.
The crying over contract changes that happened 6 months ago or more is just silly. Premium customers received one last upgrade to be used by end of year.

Data

Looks like Verizon finally took my prepaid unlimited data away. Would use the 1 gb they gave me but if your rooted and use an app for tethering it appears to be the only work around. Just their way of trying to suck the money from us poor folks.
Sent from my MB870 using xda app-developers app
Can you be more specific? What did you do to loose unlimited?
^^ Right because they can't just take it away out of nowhere. Did you upgrade or change your plan in anyway?
Were you on a contract? If not, taking it away abruptly could be well within Verzon's rights (sadly). Between payment times they could just be like "well, we're done with this tough ****". I truly hate that. Not a lick of obligation to the customer on their part.
Nope. I paid for the X2 straight out for prepaid and I haven't changed anything to my plan. Instead of unlimited data now I get 1gb.
Sent from my MB870 using xda app-developers app
Maybe it just depends on the phone you traded for. A prepaid phone, I believe, wouldn't get the unlimited data plan. I could be wrong though.
I'm not really sure what the prepaid plans offer.
If you previously had unlimited data and made no changes to your plan, they will allow you to keep you current plan and be "grandfathered in."
Throwing the word "prepaid" into the equasion makes me wonder if there is more to it.
I took a phone, not on my line or belonging to me, and had it activated on my account. I still have my unlimited data. The phone was actually an upgraded phone from my wife's account. She took my X2 and I took the Gnex.
If you changed your plan in any way, that will definietly cause you to loose your unlimited data.
I haven't change anything since I bought the phone last year. Same plan and all.

Verizon changes customer agrement

Was just curious if anyone could help me with this. I'm wanting out of my Verizon contract I have 6 months left and noticed the customer agreement was updated on June 13 2013. Could I use this as a way out of my contract. Without a early termination fee? Have read it's possible just wasn't a 100% sure.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium
Chances are it will affect future contracts and renewals. Probably won't be able to get out of your current one because of it.
From my S-Off BadSeed DNA
Well sprint got into huge trouble about changing the etf about 1-2 years ago but that dealt with money. What was changed about it? And were you notified about the change
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium
Not sure what changed, been reading it over and over and am trying to find my original receipt to compare them. I had the customer agreement bookmarked and was checking randomly to see if it changes, but it does state that I have 60 days from the change date to agree and if not their would be no penalties. Atleast that's how I understood it. Just thought maybe someone else had got out of a contract this way before and had some insite. Will probably just call them and work my way thru the chain if command and try.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium
Without even reading it I'd say no. Verizon has been excellent at not changing anything that would allow people out of their contract.

Just taking a wild guess at this that AOL means assumption of liability. Any advantages to your contract. How many lines is it? By advantages I'm meaning like you got the double data or still have a grandfathered line. With only six months left I'm guessing your ETF is just a couple hundred bucks.
I don't know if you're going to be changing to a different carrier but if that's something you will be doing in the future, someone with some connections might be able to use the ETF as a negotiation tool to get you some special discounts.
Might just look into this aol thing. Btw, I have 2 line double data. One line ends march 2014 the other November 2014

A couple of friends of mine were discussing this a while back, I don't know what really came of it but it might be worth a shot. Find a really rural out in the middle of nowhere spot that has no chance of having coverage and tell Verizon that you are moving there and that you would appreciate them letting you out of your contract unless they can provide service to you out there. Like I said, I don't know if it works, they were just talking about it and it was suggested.
If the contact terms apply to your account, they are obligated to let you out of your contract if you disagree with the terms. This is because the contract you signed originally is not what your new contact would be. By not saying anything you agree to the changes and it continues. A contract by definition protects you. If you don't agree with a change you can get out of it. If the change is for new contracts then it won't effect you and thus you cannot use this to your advantage. Hopefully this helps. It is applicable in any contract agreement.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
The trick is to tell them you do not agree with the new contract terms, not that you want to cancel. If they ask if you want to cancel, you must say no, and reiterate that you are informing them that you do not agree with the new terms, also that you are recording the call for legal verification.
If you do not wish to cancel, but do not agree to the new terms, they can only allow you to continue under the old terms, which is illegal, or they can terminate your service. No ETF if they do it. Problem is that most reps you talk to will not be aware of the legal mechanics.

I'm sure Verizon has a huge legal team which writes and looks over it a million times before before it is put into effect.

I do believe your current address on the account has to be changed to that new area before that even becomes a possibility due to the fact that when you send an inquiry like that, Verizon sends a team to check the towers and signal strength in your primary location. Therefore your primary location is that of your home and I believe work is encompassed in this as well. I spend a month dealing with Verizon and their towers and 4G LTE dropping from my old Razr. They sent out 3 tickets in the coarse of a month to check towers.Yet only changed my phone and refused to let me out of my contract since there was no issue with the towers or signal strength in my area.

Some of us don't care as we are already WITH these carriers. If we are going to use them anyway, why not take advantage of a free phone?? (I am with ATT not verizon but same ol' same ol')
I am sick of peoples insistance that contract free is so great. If you live outside the USA, MAYBE, inside the USA that is not even close to true unless you A.) enjoy crap service B.) barely move C.) Never use your phone.
I would take AT&T or Verizon over any prepaid crap service and featureless "plan" any day of the week, hands down. I have tried many difference prepaid services and they are all the same, terrible spotty service, slow speeds, and hack call quality. Again this does not apply outside the USA, but here, prepaid is AWFUL.
I have no interest in swapping carriers, therefor I chose to use my upgrades and get free/discounted phones since I am going to continue to use AT&T anyway. My plan price does not go down if I do not, there is no advantage to me for not upgrading other than allowing to me to switch carriers.

Some of us don't care about being locked into a contract. Where I live Verizon's coverage is so much better than everyone else's that I'll gladly pay more for it. Also, Verizon is offering former unlimited customers 6 GB of data for the 2 GB price with no additional strings attached. So the little to no data usage part doesn't apply either.
Did the exact same thing. BF $49 and cyber monday free. I took my receipt to best buy and they credited back my card. It was simple and fast.
Ordered mine for $0. Added as a new line. I already have a S3 on unlimited. Planning to break the contract immediately after activation and pay $350 ETF. Pay 1 day prorated monthly charge. You can get the deal if you use the loophole. I just did it twice, once for my line and just this week for my wife's line.
We both had upgrades due on our unlimited lines. We have 5 lines total on a national family plan, 2 are feature phones & 3 are smartphones. I transferred our upgrades to the feature phone lines, got the g2's at the promo price, and activated the new phones on the former feature phone lines. Immediately reactivated the feature phones on their respective lines by dialing *228 which deactivated the new phones and automatically cancelled the mandatory data plans required by the upgraded devices. Now that both new phones are free from their original lines, I popped in our SIM cards which reactivated the new phones on our unlimited lines.
So, new phones for promo pricing and unlimited data retained=win/win.
