One of my personal biggest disadvantages of syncing, and using, Exchange mail on my TP2 is the lack of HTML. Are there perhaps any way of getting Outlook to get show mails, and reply to, in HTML or perhaps a similar mail re ading app that can do this?
It's Exchange, not Outlook
As I understand it, most of the features (and bugs) are server side. For example, here are the new features available http://blogs.msdn.com/outlook_mobile/archive/2007/03/13/wm6-messaging.aspx however you need to be on Exchange12
I know that we can export the contacts from outlook to a .csv file and push it to google and sync it from there, but this is not what I want. I have custom fields, as well as pictures for my contacts that won't get exported via .csv method. Besides, I want to keep my gmail and outlook contacts separate as I have millions of email contacts in gmail that I don't need in my phone contacts list.
Is there a way to directly sync contacts with Outlook with Atrix?
If you're using Exchange via ActiveSync, that would probably work. Touchdown is another alternative. But I don't believe there is a device <-> desktop sync available. If you don't have too many contacts (under 250) you can use Soocial to sync from Outlook to their server to your phone.
I was actually looking for a device <--> phone sync (it's a local outlook address book, not an exchange server) but I will check Soocial, thanks.
Easy and free.
Soocail
I don't see the Atrix 4g on their selection of Motorola's?
IMHO, the best contact/calendar sync is Funambol. It's open source, with SyncML clients for just about every computer and mobile phone OS on the market. I use it to sync my contacts and calendar with Outlook on home and work PCs, and on two mobile phones, including Atrix.
The sync is done through a Funambol server. You can make your own private server with a web-connected PC or NAS, or you can use the MyFunambol cloud server.
Best of all, Funambol is FREE for individual users.
I sync outlook with my device using MyPhoneExplorer, and MyPhoneExplorer client on the ATrix. Both are free, and work great!!
Hope this helps.
How can these cloud services sync desktop or mobile Outlook contacts with Android if the fields and field names are different in two systems? Some exist in one and don't exist in the other... Google let's you name your phone numbers, Outlook does not....
I will 2nd MyPhoneExplorer is awesome free app. It gives you Wifi access to both phone memory and ext. sd card...so you can drag and drop files or browse.
You can sync to outlook, thunderbird, and others.

Myphoneexplorer was fine for a while then completely screwed my appointments. Would delete appoinments everytime I added a new one then copied all google appointment to outlook appointments! When i deleted them from outlook it then deleted them from google. Uninstalled.
How do I sync my notes from the Notes app to my PC? I've never figured out how to do that.
Thanks
if using windows mobile device center go to content sync settings and put a tick in the notes box..
What isn't obvious is that the sync'ed notes will appear inside Outlook as notes.
Screw it I just copied the text to ms word and saved as a txt file. thanks tho guys
This is not directly related to the GSII, but it is a general Android function issue. I'm currently using an app, Gdocs to sync my Outlook notes to my phone through Google documents. I'm using gSyncit between Outlook and Google. Unfortunately, the syncing process from my phone to Google seems a bit flaky. Updates from my phone to Google and then on to Outlook don't always "take". On a couple occasions notes entered on my phone were jumbled or joined with other notes in Google documents. The Gdocs-Google sync is very unreliable. I tried Google Docs, but discovered that it requires an Internet connection. Since I'm often out of both data and wireless range, the app won't work for me. I want the Outlook Notes data stored ON the phone. Any suggestions; other apps?
Thanks in advance.

Using the native email client against an Exchange 2007 server any Office doc attachments are corrupted and unusable. Looking at the raw text it seems that the main body is lost. Using something like Touchdown or K9 works fine but one has other issues and the other is too expensive.
Testing against an Exchange 2010 server seems fine but the client isn't going to upgrade the server for a long time.
Something is funky in the native app and I don't yet know why. Non Office docs such as PDFs are fine.
