Issue I noticed when using the Scribe pen with the Notes app - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

I'm living the new HC upgrade, but since then I've encountered this issue when taking notes with the stock Notes app. For some reason the app seems to sense the pen and makes marks even before it touches the screen; almost like it's super sensitive. Has anyone encountered this before? Very weird... Never happened under GB.

I got this issue when I flashed one of LeeDroid's roms; a later update fixed it. It made marks even hovering a full centimeter away from the screen, right?
Possibly cache-related?

This happened to me once. I can't remember if it was on GB or HC. Anyway, I took out the battery, then reinstalled it and it worked fine after that.

I think it has to do with the battery dying. I have two pens and when I switched the batteries whichever one with the old battery in it had this erratic behavior. taking the battery out and putting it back in also helped as the pen with the old battery started working again when I went to check it later on. but I would consider having a backup battery in case this remedy becomes no longer effective

Well I tried removing the battery, and putting the back and I still have the same issue and now I see it appearing in other apps. Guess I need to put my hands on replacement batteries somewhere

That issue happened to me too. It is definitely not app specific and caused by the pen itself. Removing/replacing battery and tip didn't fix the issue for me. What I have noticed through is if I use the pen with buttons "facing up" (buttons under index finger), I don't get that "ink spill", so I don't have the issue anymore.

I think I solved the prob.
It's a kind of loose connection...
Unscrew the Top of the pen (very tight)
In the pen you'll see a small golden spring which should disconnect an electrical contact as long as the pen isn't pressed on display. This spring seems to be too weak in some cases and doesn't separate correctly.
I made the spring stronger by grabbing the top end of it and turning anticlockwise very carefully.
Now a little more pressure is needed for the pen to act and it works perfect for me!

How did you unscrew the top of pen? It is VERY VERY tight....

believe me... it will unscrew!

Keyboard problems on TB?

Hey all I'm wondering if any one else has been having trouble with their keyboard not registering certain keys. Idk what it is but God damn it its annoying. I've tried three different keyboards and I get the same problem on all. If anyone can help out or guide me in the correct direction of where I should be looking for help or something. I'm running my TB stock with Das Bamf 4b kernel at 1.4 ghz.

Which keyboards have you tried using? Have you calibrated your touchscreen (may not even be related, but give it a shot).
I've used the stock, better keyboard 7 and swift key. I calibrated my screen on the stock KB but not the others.

I've had the same problem too. It usually happens the worst while I'm charging my phone
in landscape mode my 'T' is really hard to use. i've used better keyboard, swiftkey, and smart keyboard. my 'the' always comes out as 'he' -_______-

SGSII AT&T Random Reboots

Is anyone experiencing random reboots with your phone. It will either just flat out reboot, or the signal meter gets an X then the media scanner function and comes back to normal.
I read on the international GSII's that you wedge a piece of paper in the battery compartment to stop movement or the RAM is bad.
Please any thoughts or advice?
Not at all. I would try a factory reset and if that doesn't fix it return that thing. Good luck

Reboot all the way to the GalaxyS II screen, or back to the bootanimation?
The two are VERY different.
No problems here, even with an experimental kernel.
No reboots on mine as of yet...
Had that problme
Had the same problem, took it back the second day and got a different phone. Works fine since.
Ugggg....
Thank you everyone for the advice. I took the phone back and got a new one. No reboots.....which is great. However, now there is like screen burn in (similar to plasma tvs).....only noticeable with bright white or dark grey screens like when you open the market app and the grey screen appears in the background. Its like a huge discolored grey band right through the middle of the screen. Guess I will take this one back for #3......if this doesnt work Im gonna get something else...
i guess I should consider myself lucky that my phone is flawless

[Solved] Screen won't let me touch it. Cold...

Sometimes (about half the time now) when i try to unlock my screen the touch won't work. Some of these times (what was just occurring at first) it will unlock and then the screen will "jitter" and select random things while not responding to my touch, other times it just wont respond or do anything. Originally i thought that this was just a problem with the stock rom but i have boot strapped and flashed joker's new rom and it's still having the problem. Should i be contacting Motorola to gave them replace my phone?
Other info:
I have in pocket deselected.
RUNNING 198_7
Using widget locker, but i think it happens with out it
Launcher pro
Thanks for the help!
Edit:
So I figured out that the top left of my screen isn't level with the rest. When the problem starts to happen I turn off the screen, compress the top left corner and the problem is gone for half a day to a day. So... that's cool... at least it is still under warranty.
I found the it happened to my phone ALOT when connected via USB to the computer and after I cleaned the screen off with glass cleaner when I ran the multi-touch test for the 8-point touchmod.

I've seen it happen on my hero with bad usb cords but this is happening when not plugged in. I've also never used glass cleaner on it or the multi-touch test on the photon.

So I was using my phone and just set it down and it started freaking out and going into things before the screen even shut off. Should I check out the multi-touch thing to just see where my touch points are or can I do some type of calibration?

I haven't ever put 8 point touch on my phone. I could try to flash it though and see if that does anything.
Sent from my Photon 4G
I would up with a similar issue on my Evo, and I wound up having to get a new one. Not sure if the Photon is gonna be the same, but that was how my phone was sadly. Let us know if the eight point touch helps or not.
So everything looks fine on the multi-touch but i cant get the program up while my screen is freakin out so it kinda defeats the purpose. Jokers skinny 4g doesn't have 8 touch point mod correct?
Sent from my Photon 4G
No not that I know of.
Sent from my Photon via XDA
So I got the multi up while it was freakin out. There was a point toward the top of the screen (the edge of the touch "disc" was touching the edge of the screen) that stayed where it was but just jittered left to right. The really weird part is that my second touch point could not go above it. This has to be a manufacturer flaw as far as I'm concerned so when I have time I'm going to call Motorola.

I would agree as I've seen something similar with my Heroc. The problem is it happens all the time when it's unplugged... the micro USB could be haunted with an evil ghost charger... I'm not sure what the exercisium protcol is for that.

S-Pen problems/weirdness?

Hi everybody -
I've got a weird issue that I wanted to see if anybody else is experiencing. I noticed this a couple of days ago, and I also seem to remember that I wasn't having this problem before (but I could have just not noticed it). I'm running unrooted stock.
When I get my s-pen tip close to the screen, it reacts with it - no touch needed. So this causes my screen to go crazy, especially if the keyboard is on at the time. It will register multiple letter presses (same letter), etc. I've experimented with this, and even in S-Memo, it will draw on the screen even if the pen is not touching the screen, but just above it.
Has anybody else seen this? Am I crazy?
I'd venture to guess that this is happening when you're holding the pen at an upwards angle (such as when laying in bed and looking up to see the phone screen), correct?
If so, there's a thread about that& a few possible remedies.
No, it happens pretty much all the time, regardless of my physical position ...
There is a thread about that too

There's a lot of info out there... just search this forum for "s pen" or google "s pen problem" which will also show links to YouTube videos on this.
Here are links to four threads in this forum, and there are more in the international note forum. I'd recommend you try to return it (I'm on my third Note), and if that doesn't work try the metal foil tape solution shown in the first thread below.
1. AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note MAJOR ISSUE with Stylus!
2. screen responds to spen when not touching screen?
3. Anyone having issues with unintentional S-pen actions(?)
4. Galaxy Note problems, should I return?
You can turn down the response of the screen to pen using TouchScreenTune.

I forgot to mention that these S Pen problems often come up only after using the device for a while. My first Note took a couple of days to go bad, my second one took just a couple of hours. My third one took about 6 hours for this issue to start to appear (and I finally just put the aluminum tape on the pen).
Some folks with international Notes said the problem showed up after about 30 days of use.

[Q] Touchscreen responsiveness issues

Has anyone noticed a lack of response from the touchscreen at times? I initially thought it might be my tempered glass screen protector that was causing the problem. However, I've noticed that when it becomes unresponsive, if I press the lock (power) button and lock then unlock the screen, it begins responding normally again. This issue seems to come and go.

I was getting the same issue when I first got the phone. Seems to be better now after a couple weeks of use. It was real bad with the otterbox defender and the crappy plastic screen cover. It still happened once I put my icarez .2mm tempered glass on, but it was better. Now I hardly notice it.

You mean like playing candy crush and not being able to swipe the colors you want... Had the same issue on 2 different g3s..yup there is definitely a issue imo
For me, it starts with the back button on the nav bar not responding. Then random places on the screen won't respond either. Also, I will have problems with the LG keyboard as well. But, like I said, locking and unlocking will fix it temporarily.
Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
Yeah the back button and space bar are usually the most noticeable and occasionally along the sides. That was the worst when I had the defender on it, but that's always an issue with the defenders.

I have the same issue. It happens With my keyboard a lot. Like a 2 inch offset on where I touch to what button gets got sometimes. And it's fine if I rotate screen, but goes back exactly the same when I put screen back to landscape. It Does seem to happen more often when the back button stops responding too.

I've gone with nova also. Much smoother..
Odd. I have been using Nova the whole time and had the issues
After a full day of usage, I can definitely say, I'm not experiencing screen issues since switching back to Nova.
I only use nova... Lol..I have had issues
I've been using Smart Launcher Pro since I got the phone and haven't had any of these issues. I also have a glass screen protector since day one and no screen response issues... Only hardware issue i've had is a faint crackling in the earpiece during some calls.
Well so much for that...Started happening again today.
What ive done is go on www.thinklg.com log in and report the issue to lg.

My touch screen gets bugged when I attempt to unlock a pattern on it. The only solution that I have tried is to lock and unlock the phone again. It's still a hassle though :/
i have responsiveness issue but i cant tell if its the app or the phone its never on the homescreen. the only issue that really drives me crazy is when its dark and im trying to unlock my phone it unlocks and then turns off over and over!

I have the same exact issues with navbar keys on both of my G3's. I changed to Kii keyboard and the same issues on either keyboard. Plus quite often "like now" when I type the words are missing until I scroll the screen. Stock, Nova, Next launchers all do it. No case and Zagg tempered glass. Flip case on the other.
I hope it's not hardware related and we get some software fixes soon. Very frustrating.
I'm experiencing this now on my new LG G3. Have any of you found a solution and/or stopped experiencing this problem?
I will try Nova, even though someone else said the problem came back for them.
It's pretty annoying for my brand new phone to be doing this.
I changed my cache to "art" and it helped. But sprint issued out a new update and that killed "art" caching. So I went back to delvik cache and screen lag is gone now.
