ROM Editor, could this help anyone here? - Motorola Photon 4G

Found this browsing for something to mess with on my remote phone. Don't know if this would work here, don't see why not, just wanted to throw it out there. If its irrelevant, mods please delete.

Help, modify init.rc

Not completely sure if this is the right place to put this question.
I want to modify the stock jk6 to run scripts from init.d, I heard it had to be changed in kernel, but since we don't have source how would I go about this? Ive searched and can't find anything on it.
Btw if this its the wrong section for this typeof question let me know

Best rom for the vibrant? easy install?

Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
did i miss something here? can you re elaborate?`
next time pls post in the right section, thing belongs to Q&A section.
now on topic.. this has been asked so many times and to be honest you will not get a straight answer because it all comes down to preference. some roms are built for speed & power while some are build for long battery life.
so my advise to you is read through the comments of the roms posted try as many as you can til you find what is best to meet your needs. and when you get more experience flashing, you might want to try to mix and match ROMs, Kernels, and Modems to get exactly what your looking for.
peace~
I would have to say Axura 2.2 is by far the best that I have tried, very smooth and fast. At this point I have had no issues!!!
Sry I'm new to posting, I read only most the time.

what in froyo b.s. is going on here?
if you are looking for a fast rom to get straight to the point then download a stock rom and flash with odin but if the quest. is about fast rom then you have some choices. I personally feel that nero is speedy without a lag fix but so is axura. have fun testing. not enough new stuff for me to flash binge this weekend. lol
I like ginger clone
stock JL4!!! Everything just... works
ginger clone works really good for me. I dont even feel a lag fix is necessary for this one

All the vibrant roms suck.
Go to the Droid Incredible forum and download and flash ANY of their roms.
WAY better.

Not cool. Post reported.
I'm currently running the Ginger Clone. It's an easy install (assuming you're familiar with Clockwork). All you do is put the zip file on your internal sd card, boot to recovery, and install the zip. Easy as can be.
However, if you've never flashed a rom before, boot up Odin and get familiar with it. Some people make Odin seem like it's this programmer-only type of toy, but it's super easy and user-friendly as well. You just need to follow directions on what file to put where (.pit files go in the PIT slot and .tar files go under the PDA area). Odin is sort of a "holy ****, I can't do anything with this phone anymore" option. It will get you back to BONE stock, how your phone shipped.
I've been thinking about writing a guide to flashing and recovery if anyone thinks that would help? I'm kind of a novice myself, but I've familiarized myself enough with flashing and Odin that I think I could write a guide if there was a demand for it.
Man this is why new folks get discouraged with posting. Aside from the fact that a new guy posted in the wrong section (easy mistake) telling him to load a ROM not intended for his phone potentially bricking it is jacked up. Why would anyone do that? Even if you were successful loading it to your phone.

he best ROM will be one that will adapt to user needs.
So, just testing to see many different ROMs.
This type of thread does not help and may cause flames.
Although the idea is not bad, it is best you find out more about each ROM and draw your own conclusion!
Understands and expects to continue working with the XDA.

Rooting, flashing ETC.

So I have a friend who has a droid eris, and i have a galaxy s. He saw what i had done to my phone... Kernel, ROM, and themes and was asking me to do it to his eris. So can anyone point me to a thread or anything to help with rooting, flashing ROMS and anything else? Thanks.
Download Root and Me from the market. It's a guide for rooting etc. I found it very useful
do a little searching on here, you will find everything you need to know about your Eris,

You can find the most important information via links from the Eris Roll-up Thread.

[Q] Installing themes on Arctic ROM? [Solved]

Please don't flame, I tried searching but I'm apparently not using the right keywords or maybe it's already staring me in the face.
I have Arctic ROM working perfectly on my RAZR, just the ROM thread provided themes without a guide to installing them.
Yes I know it's probably a noobish question but any help would be much appreciated.
Apparently through CWM Bootstrap, wish it was stated somewhere a bit more obviously as I had to tinker with it until I got the idea to try through Bootstrap.
Oh well, solved.

My advice is to slow down, use the search button, read and research, then read some more..
Also, don't post questions like these in this section, there are Q&A forums for that.. preferably for your own device. This thread will probably be moved, or removed.. see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1904019.
