Someone wants to trade for my thunderbolt. My thunderbolt is rooted and is running eternity rom. Would he be able to activate my thunderbolt after swapping sim cards or would my tbolt need to be stock?
Shouldn't be an issue, if it is just flash a stock rooted ROM and you should be good to go. My buddy had a problem activating a shift that was on cyanogenmod all he did was flash a stock rooted ROM and he was able to activate it and then went back to cyanogenmod.

what i would do is back up your current rom and flash a stock one, then after it is activated, re-load the backup

My friend asked me to put a custom ROM on his thunderbolt. He still has stock rooted 2.2.1 with revolutionary s-off. My question is besides updating the radios is there anything I should do before flashing rom? Not my phone so i don't want to mess it up even though I ran him through the usual disclaimer.

He didn't want to wait so went ahead with the radio flash then ROM and everything went off without a hitch.

that appears to be the latest stock rooted firmware for sprint. found it in the sprint development. suppose you could flash either deodexed or odexed lf9 or lg2 through cwm and have your stock.
:good:

I dont understand what you are asking. A stock rooted GB ROM? The only GB ROMs we have that are worth looking into is Eclipse and CM7. Eclipse is more stock as in how you baught the Droid X2. CM7 is more stock as in pure android (AOSP). And again, I dont know what you mean by "losing my flash so I cannot sbf to stock"
My x2 is flashed to cricket cause I can't afford Verizon. Sbf to stock would mean losing that flash putting the phones network back on Verizon making it unusable and would be paper weight. I want a stock moto DROID rom like blur

Wife had to get a warranty replacement, was planning on restoring a backup onto the new phone after i root it. It is the deodexed/debloated ICS OTA Santod put out. Should this work ok?

Should be fine, so long as it's rooted, and you should flash the new ICS radios first.
They should even work with whatever rom you have on there prior to doing the restore.
Just be sure you are rooted and s-off and you will be fine.
