Hi,
I brought my streak 5 to "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9002" mode and ran the streakfalsh M2.7.4.5, everything ran with flying colors except that my phone now is completely dead. All I can do with my phone now is:
1. Hold Camera + Power button to enter the Touchscreen Calibration/Fastboot selection screen.
+ The touchscreen doesn't work at this point so I can not make any selections.
+ Press and hold Volume Up/Down button turns off the screen for 3 seconds and comes back with a "FAIL" text with read background under "Touchscreen Calibration"
+ None of the other buttons (press/press and hold) have any response in this state.
+ The only way I can get out of this is of course by removing the battery.
2. If I use the QDL repairtool M2.7.4.8, it fails @
"Wait for ADB device .........
ERROR[D2]: wait ADB fastboot mode timeout!
Please check that device is exist and driver is properly installed.
Download Fail! - 2012/01/15 10:40:52"
and after about 3 seconds, the phone enters fastboot mode (or so I think)
+ The LCD shows up in all white with "FASTBOOT_MODE" text on the bottom left
+ The "Android ADB Interface" driver kicks in at this point
+ Running "fastboot devices" returns with a "? fastboot"
+ Running "adb devices" returns with no devices
I have Google android sdk and dell's R288920 installed on my XP machine. I have used the same setup before to successfully update my original Android 1.6 to 2.2.
And by the way, I can not get into recovery mode either.
I love the streak and Dell has stopped selling them in the states, I's hate to move to another smart phone . Please help!
By the way, the LEDs under the capacitive touch buttons do not light up at any instance. They have completely stopped working.
Thank you all in advance.
Please help!
Somebody, anybody......please help. I am stuck with an ancient backup phone, I would really appreciate if the experts out their could give me any leads/ideas on solving my issue.
Thank you
can you get into the recovery mode?? try doing a factory reset??
try the streakflash again?? i used 2.7.4.8 to fix my streak when i almost bricked it, worked fine for me,
if you can get the phone into fastboot , why not try downloading the appropriate recovery and update package for official 2.3, and flash manually via fastboot commands in dos??

I was able to successfully flash the official recovery (407, 20707 build) but I am still not able to get into recovery mode with the volume+/- button procedure.
so when you turn the phone on and immediately hold the volume +/- buttons what happens?
do you see the dell logo?
also when booting into recovery i hold the power button until i see the led's light up then let go of power and hold volume +/- ( i dont hold power at the same time, dont know why but it seems to work for me)

NOTHING at all (no white LEDs on the 3 control keys and no response on the LCD), I have even kept the buttons pressed for more than 5 mins just to be sure.

Tried this but since I do not see the control keys light up, I can not decide when to let go of the power button and hold down the volume ones. I even tried holding the power button for approximately 5-7 secs and letting go, no use.

The QDL tool works fine until:
Code:

Wait for modem set up ......

Please check that device is exist and driver is properly installed.
Download Fail! - 2012/01/22 19:02:19

The phone gets into FASTBOOT_MODE about 10 secs after the QDL tool times out.
Run streakflash, then push just the volume down button.Streakflash will find the port then starts to flash.Wait until it finishes the flashing. If it stops anywhere just wait your pc/laptop until it sleeps. Then wake it again. The flashing process will continue and i hope it will be ok.

I'm assuming you were coming from the OTA 2.3.4. Is that right?
If so, then it is a soft brick and you just need to power it down and then plug it back in to the computer and it should turn on by itself. As soon as the menu comes back up, use the VOL down to navigate to Fastboot and then press VOL up to select. Once in Fastboot protocol, you can just reenter the fastboot unlock commands, make sure you enter your uniqueID exactly

Recently, I was foolish enough to play around with the tool WSG UnBricker v1.0.3, and I went to flash the recovery (option to flash own image), I then drap the one that's bundled with the tool to flash it, after that I couldn't enter the stock recovery to see the familiar dead Andy, nor can I factory reset the device any more.
When trying to factory reset it, I kept getting the error (in red) that says "Unrecoverable bootloader error 0x00000000", then the device just hangs there.
My TF201 is still locked, not rooted, it is on Jelly Bean and other functions are still OK. I can still boot it and use it normally, just can't factory reset it and get the "Unrecoverable bootloader error 0x00000000" error.
So, please, If anyone has any idea to deal with this, please help me!!! I've been looking all around but to no available. How foolish of me to have done it!!!
What exactly did you try to do with the WSG tool??
Anyway, you could try one of these methods to do a complete restore...
Download the stock ROM (http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_Prime_TF201/#download)... it has a zip within a zip... extract the first zip and you should have a file with a name like US_epad-user-10.4.2.15.zip (or WW or TW depending on which zip you downloaded)
1. Flash via recovery
- Copy the update zip (e.g. US_epad-user-10.4.2.15.zip) to your sdcard
- Open adb shell and enter the following command
Code:
echo '--update_package=/sdcard/US_epad-user-10.4.2.15.zip' >> /cache/recovery/command
- Reboot and enter recovery mode [Power + Vol Down, then select RCK and press Vol Up]
- You should see the recovery screen (green Android with progress bar)
- It should reboot & then you see the blue progress bar on the Asus splash screen
- Let it finish and boot up.
- Now start it up using the Power + Vol Down key, then use the Vol Down key to highlight Wipe Data and pre the Vol Up key. This may take a few minutes.
2. Flash via fastboot
- Extract the blob from the update zip (e.g. US_epad-user-10.4.2.15.zip) on your computer
- Start the device in fastboot mode [Power + Vol Down, then select the USB symbol and press Vol Up]
- Run the follow command in a terminal window
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash staging blob
- You should see the fastboot command transfering the files. Once that is done, reboot
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 reboot
- It should reboot & then you see the blue progress bar on the Asus splash screen
- Let it finish and boot up.
- Now start it up using the Power + Vol Down key, then use the Vol Down key to highlight Wipe Data and pre the Vol Up key. This may take a few minutes.

Thanks a lot, craigacgomez!!! I had to try to use the 2nd option you gave me (flash via fastboot), as my Recovery was probably screwed; as I said before, I couldn't get into Recovery (stock recovery I think, because it's still not unlocked, not rooted), just says "Unrecoverable bootloader error 0x00000000". However, even with the 2nd option, when I try the reboot command, the device just stays there, and the writing process before it only took about 3s as the picture I attached herewith. I tried to manually reboot it after "fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash staging blob", but the device still booted as If nothing was done using the command.
I think the jellybean stock recovery is screwed, only by successfully re-flashing it, can I do the factory reset. Now, it can boot and be used normally but not factory reset. The reason I tried to play with the tool was because I am one of the very "luck" users that have to live with the infamous "Serial unknown" feature!!! For one second of misthought and alcohol, I somehow screwed it like this.
So, what can I do now to re-flash the stock recovery, please tell me! Thanks a lot again man.
I just tried to cold boot the device using the Volume down+Power and let it pass the 10s. After that, the screen says it's cold booting linux or something, then a signature match, but it hangs there. I pressed and held Power until It reboots, but this time It won't even get passed the Asus splash screen. I just officially get an expensive "temporary" paperweight!!! Someone, please help!!!!!!!
Please, anyone???
Same original problem as OP. Not sure about the bricking problem...
I also receive that error when attempting to boot from recovery. However, I can still boot normal and seems I can wipe data. Also, I can start fastboot...but it seems to only be responsive to one command before it becomes unresponsive. Adb doesn't seem to be seeing the device anymore. And I can boot into APX.
This doesn't really help the OP if bricked, but providing these details, because I am still trying to find a solution to the same original problem.
Maybe it's time for me to use Asus's warranty service?
found the solution to this problem?
found the solution to this problem? I am presenting the same problem! someone please help me
same here... I have 10.6.1.8 bootloader currently, courtesy the previous owner and I can't seem to flash anything. After sending a command to the device, it becomes unresponsive and just freezes.
Now, as it is possible to send a file over to the device, does it stay there? It looks like there is only one command that can be executed and that is sending. Maybe if the file was there, the one command would be flashing the file? Just grasping at straws
I have a similar problem.
Can access fastboot, but the unrecoverable error appears every time i enter recovery or wipe mode.
Also fastboot freezes after i flash something.
My opinion: Hard brick. You need to replace the motherboard.
I am almost ready to accept it... However, as the bootloader is from TF300, would it be possible to use those drivers to communicate with the device? I'm at work right now so can't test, but it seems like a remote possibility

I also have the bootloader error 0x00000000,
bought the prime second hand and thought I would unlock and try some new ROM, I have done successful root flash etc on my old HTC desire to get it running JB ROMs so thought would give it a go on PRIME, big mistake!! rushed into it like an absolute moron and now have a lovely paperweight!
Everything I have read suggests this is unfixable but I found the tool WSG unbrick and thought hey hey here we go!! but no dice.
The erasing tools seem to do everything but when I tried to install the full unbrick option (write partitions) it just goes straight to the reboot menu with a message that "this menu is only for when the device is in bootloader mode" same for any other install option!
Every time I try to flash something in fastboot it seems like it disconnects or fastboot stops working,
I am pretty much ready to give up and admit defeat, phone call to ASUS!!!
example of what happens in fastboot:-

I've found a way to boot directly into bootloader/fastboot mode.
Press simultaniously the Vol+ and the power button until the red light lit up. Then instantly leave the two buttons and press the Vol- button until you see the fastboot menu. You're done!!
This trick to boot into Stock Bootloader/recovery has been known for years and is used on many different Android device

I see you don't get it. Up to now the only way to get into fastboot was via "adb reboot bootloader". Or from a successfully installed TWRP.
The "for years" known combinations will get you only into Recovery (Power + Vol up), FTM (Power + Vol down), or into EDL respective the useless DFU mode (Power + Vol up + Vol down). In case you've killed your recovery and your bootimg you now have a additional option to come back to a functional system. Especially for the A2017g with the useless DFU mode.
Can anyone with bricked A2017G confirm?

Confirmed NOT WORKING .
It doesn't matter if it's working or not. Thanks for the info anyway.
Neither stock recovery nor fastboot will help if you're stuck in DFU mode for G model. You can't do anything to recover the device in neither mode. All what helps is previously had enabled "allow BL unlock" in developer options. This gives you the possibilty to flash a stock ROM from external SD card. It still needs to be aproved from a bricked "DFU" user!

Would you kindly tell us what is not working? Don't you see the menu? Or don't you know what to do with fastboot?
In case you managed it to get into fastboot the next step would be to get into edl by using this trick. -->
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and.../guide-how-to-reboot-to-edl-fastboot-t3394292
@tron1, all this does not work. I tried cause I had a bricked (DFU) device. I needed to send it in for repair. And gues: they changed the motherboard.
Even the fastboot_edl results in "remote unknown command". Nearly all commands in fastboot for Axon 7 are disabled bei ZTE.
I will try if it's possible to reboot to edl with the fastboot from the unlock procedure from drakenfx.
forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-stay-t3461165
ZTE crippled the loader in a bad ass way. But they left the flash command inside. So it should be possible to flash at least a working recovery to the system if you manage it to get into bootloader. As long as my phone is working I won't try it on it. So volunteers!!
Hint -->
fastboot flash <partition> [ <filename> ] write a file to a flash partition
fastboot erase <partition> erase a flash partition
I there a way recover such a bricked device?
I could only boot into bootloader. If i choose boot recovery the phone only shows a red light.
If i choose start its the same red light.
Or should i contact ZTE for a new phone?

I have bricked my Axon 7 several times this weekend, but new Qualcomm chipsets are unbrickable!!!!
1. There is a way to enter directly to EDL on most Qualcomm devices and works also in the Axon 7. Just ensure your phone is off, then press the three buttons at the same time. The red light will blink once, after that blink release the three buttons (you must be very quick releasing the buttons, otherwise the phone will turn on.
2. Plug your phone to your computer. Windows 10 should detect a new USB device QUSB_BULK without any warning message. Then you can use axon7tool to flash the original boot and recovery (stock or tenfar's signed TWRP).
After that, you will be able to enter into recovery, do a factory reset and then you will be able to restore de initial image from an SD formatted as FAT32 (no, exFAT is not supported by stock recovery) in case of stock recovery. Sideload will not work, always stop before finishing the transmission.
Oki, this is fine for you because you have the US version of the Axon the rest of the axon World is f..ed up with an useless so called DFU mode. Happy Birthday for your Axon.

Any idea on why when i tried to enter bootloader mode on my Axon 7 (that i received 1 week ago), it stays on ZTE logo and nothing else happens... What is weirder is that there's a red light and my computer detect it when i do "fastboot devices" but i can't unlock the bootloader...
I tried to downgrade on B02 firmware and nothing... i'm beyond going insane right now.... :-/ It's like ZTE blocked on purpose the access to the bootloader mode...
i cant use adb commands, only fastboot commands and im stuck with using this fastboot update </path/to/your/RomFile.zip>
Which happens as such
C:\adb>fastboot update C:\Users\RUsla\Desktop\xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK20MI9T_V10.3.15.0.PFJCNXM_v10-9.zip

error: update package 'C:\Users\RUsla\Desktop\xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK20MI9T_V10.3.15.0.PFJCNXM_v10-9.zip' has no android-info.txt

What do you mean "stuck in boot". You can hard reset the phone (I don't know the combination for your phone, but mine is hold power button + volume up + volume down, then release and press power button again. Google it up for your phone), and go to TWRP by some other combination of buttons. (TWRP is in FOTA kernel, so make sure you google that correctly and get the right combination of buttons).
