galaxy ace 2.3.7 Clean Android AOSP|Beta1 - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

hi guys, i have been trying custom roms on my galaxy ace since i got it and that was about november. im a geeky tech guy and love tweaking my gadgets to get the maxium out of them. and as i dived into the andriod side of things for the first time, i stumbled across the xda website and found out how to update my mobile to the latest custom roms and leaked stocked roms very quickly and found it very simple. " and also rewarding ". but i only signed upto the xda forums today "shame on me i know" but i just wanted to thank the guy who posted this basic rom for my galaxy ace. i found it today , iv tried ics lagacy, myth ics, cyrogenmod "if thats what its called" and a few others. none of them satisfied my speedy needs as much as this rom did, its based on 2.3.7 stock or somthing. but its just made my day realy, and i had to just say a big thanks to this guy. i put the latest blackhawk kernel on it and the results are awesome. even without the kernel it runs silky smooth all round. not to keen on the app laucher as i cant remove the other desktop windows 5 in all but i supose i can get a app dock laucher app* for something like that. well here is the link to anyone who has a galaxy ace and has tried all roms under the sun. try this one you will love it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1447602 and again, big thanks to all the guys at xda and to the user slaid480 for posting this for our galaxy ace. p.s looking forward to seeing if someone can make ics for the galaxy ace as fast as this rom is. and i forgot to mention not that it probly matters but quadrent with my cpu at 902Mhz gives me 2401. max with past roms i got 1800 max. and only down side is the apps scroll up and down and not left to right " i liked that". but without having to bloat my ace down with theme apps this is probley the best rom by far. many thank again " one happy andriod owner

Hahaha I'm happy you liked the ROM
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.

i just added go-laucher as it no added themes and thats made it look alot better for me. and i deleted a couple of things with backup titianium, just the live wallpapers and such. and it is now at the point that im actualy happy to create a back up. is ther a easy way for me to back it up to a flashable zip for future flashing in the furure via cmw 4 or 5?

I don't think you can do that
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.

is ther anyway of doing it? via odin or such, be a shame to try future roms and if needed to revert back having to reflash a stock rom then add the AOSP rom and so on.

I see , I'll see what I can do
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.

awesome thanks

best rom i have used so far! battery life and the performance are good!

I have CM9 Installed on my galaxy ace, can I format with CMW5 and install this one?

Would strongly Suggest Lite'ning V1.2
its Stupidly easy to install. no need to Pre-Root etc does it all for you, Gorgeous Updated UI with loads of Cool new features added. and Litepro (Creator) listens and Updates the Rom Regularly to make sure it has Cool new Features
Edit : £350 is a bargain ! got mine on release date sim free for £500... lol :S
another vote here for ligtning- nice theme-stable and fast. All roms are f\st on gs2 though
You basically have a choice of 3 roms.
2 of those have been proven to include a cheat to influence the benchmarks scores that quadrant gives off making the rom look better than it actually is.
Choice is yours
Also this is a question not development so you posted it in the wrong forum section.
VillainROM

Very True indeed, luckily the Latest Lite'ning rom has had the Quadrant scripts all removed so it gives a True to life score
I was using AngeloM KE7 1.2 for quite a while, and upgraded to 1.6 two days ago which was an improvement. But I changed to Villain ROM yesterday and I'm quite impressed. I'd recommend that as a starting point. For me, it's a tiny bit smoother than the others.
If you use Titanium Backup, you can change ROM as often as you like with minimal inconvenience.

I am also very happy with the AngeloM rom . It is fantastic!
no comment on litening rom bcz i havent try it yet.
villianrom pretty good, basic, simple, long battery life.
angelom 1.6 is fast and normal battery life, but the thread got closed.

[Q] ROMs for Galaxy ACE

Hi Guys,
I have recently bought Galaxy ACE and battery seems horrible. I tried many options even disabled WIFI and data , but there is no battery improvement.
I want to install some good custom ROM which can improve battery and performance.
I am not able to find any thread mentioning all ROMS available for GALAXY ace.
Guys, please recommend which ROM I can install for my ACE.
Damn it not another one. Read the rom thread and make decisions, unless you admit you have no capacity to judge and decide.
Delivery on silverplate:
ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1228436
Tweak: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223830
Apps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16828743&postcount=11
This is my personal taste, which works good for me.
If you want to adjust it to your own needs start to read the threads posted on the dev section.
Man, its raining trolls
Try GingerReal v1.1 or any ROM with CF-Root and then enable the CPU Conservation Gov. mode..
BTW, what was your phone before SGA? If its a non-smartphone lemme tell you that you couldn't really expect much from the battery of a smartphone.
That, plus Ace's battery capacity is quite small, 1350MAh. So you'd better get used to it.

[Q] Best custom / stock rom for Stability + Battery endurance?

Hi guys ,
as you are well aware I'm new here, and have made an account on XDA so I can share my opinion and also read yours in hope of a solution.
Anyway I'm currently running an official 2.3.6 ROM on my Ace, and have gone through just about everything the Development section has to offer, from TheMyths' ICS to unofficial CM7 Kang builds, but I'm still looking for a perfect blend of stability, battery, lag free (smooth) ROM's.... And need help deciding.
So far I've noticed that the CM7 builds seem to have the best performance (benchmarked by Quadrant standard) and works fine, however I haven't had the time to observe the battery life...
Ultimately an ICS clone would be sick, I love the style, since CM looks fugly in my opinion.
Also would like to know what kind of tweaks you guys use for your Aces' to get a little extra juice from your batteries...
Thanks
Hm....You could try and use SGS2 rom from space caker,or gingercruzt or infinity, both from nims11

The battery life, as reported by many users including me, tends to be rather relatively miserable.

If you want a very convincing ICS look alike, I suggest you pick out a CM7 build and download AChep's ICS theme.

I'm using GadgetCheck's V8.5 Supercharger tweaks, plus Slaid's SlaidFASTMod V2.5 (not updating to his new LagFree scripts since I experience some odd UI lags here and there (ironically)).
If you really want to save on your batteries, try setting your governor to conservative or powersave (though powersave will lag your phone to the point of 1984) and don't overclock (flash a non-OC kernel, if you want).
And check out JuiceDefender. It'll turn off radio connections when the screen is off, and I saved around 165% worth of battery life with that app. The only downside is is that it ****s up with push notifications, and I need those for my IM and email.
EDIT:
I forgot, you asked for a specific ROM.
Well, I for stability and efficient battery consumption, I recommend you just stick with stock ROM (or something based on it), since it was compiled specifically for SGA hardware. My longest relationship with a stock ROM was fla.sh's fla.sh X2.3 ROM followed by sametpoyraz's Glsmt 2.1 (I know it says Glsmt 3.0, but a download link was never provided). Both of them are considered dead projects, but that doesn't mean that the ROMs aren't half bad!
Thanks [/QUOTE]
i've had problems flashing 2.3update of that rom, have you tried the rom?
I Am useing The Infinity Rom Final And Its Great With Performace And Good With Battery Life!
Bye And Salam.
Samsung Galaxy Ace [Rooted]
Infinity Rom Final RC2
Based On Cyanogenmod 7.2 RC0 ICS FINAL
Turboboast v8.5 And SlaidMOD v3
FrameWork Mod Active!
8 GB Class 10 Sd Card Ext
THAnk mE IF I HeLPED
For stability and speed, I hands down recommend ICS Final. The rom I'm using. As for battery life, you can have the best battery with ANY kind of rom. Just check out the thread on my signature ;D
Thanks for all the replies to my thread thus far... will definitely try that SetCPU... As far as Slaids scripts go however, I did once try that but found my device would have lag, that being screen tearing.

[Q] Flash another rom

Hi!
Can i flash another custom rom if i have installed Themyth basic??
and, actually, which is the most smooth and stable??
sorry for my english
you sure can. just make sure to clear cache and some require you to factory reset i think.
Ive tried cm 7.2 KANG, i liked it alot, Im now running TheMyth Advance, with some small tweaks. with NO problems at all.
your best to read the ROMS yourself and see what fits you most
okay men!
can you solve me another question?
the battery works right but, when i turn on the wi-fi, the battery is discharged so fast!!
after flashed the rom, i didnt do a full wipe, maybe that the problem¿
Yes Wifi consumes more battery, but not so fast as you mentioned.
If not satisfied still, you can try Battery Calibration from the market. As the name says it will calibrate your battery
I can recommend the LeWa-Rom (this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506952). I don't know if it is *the* fastest, but it ist by far the best one I used until now.
There's some tricks and tweaks regarding the setup (it is in chinese at first for some users, but it is easy to change that), but all in all, it is brutally fast, I haven't had a Force Close since I installed it and the battery consumption, especially when using it very much, is actually pretty good.
Give it a try, official support starts this friday, I am pretty psyched to test the final!

All of those points don't do much at all but cm 7.2 is the fastest based on PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. It gets under my skin when noobs have a quadrant score war
Sent from the Nokia Galaxy Nexus Arc 5530 Live with Walkman S2 XL XE S X 3G CDMA LTE T-mo PSN Certified Plus with Beats Audio
i dont use quadrant because the score is nothing for me, when i test rom i go for look and feel and how it works.
but i think that journal disabler is giving some boost

[Q] So what was holding my S3 back?

Hey,
I'm very new to rooting flashing and all of this but I learn fast.
Originally came here because I was disappointed with my S3 and how it is working so I googled, knew a thing or two about rooting, rooted almost a week ago then a day after I was flashing my very first rom.
My first rom was S4 revolution v12 I liked it but after a while - not very long while - I have experienced lagging and dull responding just like what I had with my stock rom.
Then I said so what I'll flash another and another. Again, googled best rom and knew that there is no such a thing but my eyes captured Cyanogenmod and I said ok I'll give it a try and I did.
Now I'm running cm11 M3 and the device is speedy, no lagging what so ever, actually experinced multi tasking for my first time - multi tasking with stock rom is a lie - and finally I felt like hey that is what I actually wanted.
Had to do some changes to be honest - not to the rom don't get me wrong I'm not that smart - but I had that android keyboard with the number row I love it. Hated that google launcher and its ugly icons so now I'm using KK launcher and few other things and that's it.
Now to my question. In this little short adventure of mine I have experienced two diffrent roms well, three actually counting the stock rom and the stock rom was awful, S4 revolution v12 was quite good but not that speedy and cm11 that pushed my S3 to its limits. My question is - in terms of speed, performance and no lagging - what was holding the device back and what made it as fast as it now with cm11?
I mean is it the rom itself, maybe the kernel if I even understand the term well, the samsung heavy Touchwiz or maybe the samsung apps? I need to understand because it'll help me choose between roms and kernels and really have what I want.
P.S English in not my native language so if you'll correct me be nice

Since the time Samsung Galaxy series phone were launched, over the years, this has been a problem with Samsung stock ROMs.
The device would be fast without lags for some period of time and then it starts lagging.
I am no expert, but in my experience, its the Bloatware and many unnecessary features that Samsung puts in its ROMs.
This is the reason Samsung ROMs are usually heavy about 1GB
These apps/features hog up the cache memory over time and takes up system memory.
this causes the lags and freezes (well, at least in my case it was always).
As opposed to this, in CM11 or AOSP ROMs in general are bare bones ROMs which are based on pure android.
this is the reason they are light about 200 MB + 150+ MB for gapps.
less bloat, lesser cache used and lesser lags.
Well this is my inference from my experience with Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Galaxy S3.
Someone can correct me technically if I am wrong.

That is the problem with sammy roms, there's too much bloat and garbage. But there are some ways you can make it slightly better:
1- You can use a de-bloating app (search XDA) and remove unwanted apps for a better performance. But this is not recommended for new users or those who have less experience.
2- You can root your device and use Titanium Backup to freeze un-needed apps/services. Sometimes freezing an app can give you errors so you can defrost them safely, no worries. The apps are not deleted, but they are just hidden from the system.
3- Use an app like Greenify (Donate version recommended) and make them hibernate. Donate version can even freeze system apps like Google Play etc and this is one of the easiest/safest way to speed up your phone and reduce lag. (Need Xposed module to freeze system apps)
4- Use a custom Rom like Resurrection KK (but some camera issues) for fantastic performance.
5- Learn to forget Samsung apps There are better apps out there.
