Did you say ROM MANAGER..
uninstall that thing

rom manager had proven so many time it bricked ace. yet so many poor souls dont know and use it unknowingly.
a reflash might help, and good luck with it

Flash CF-Root
AND NEVER TOUCH ROM MANAGER EVER AGAIN

yes, re-flash the ROM/firmware may solve that problem.
I also have bad experience using the 'fix permission' thing. I did 'fix permission' from CWM recovery. Although CWM said it success to fix the permission, but then make all application FC. Then I re-flash the ROM.

Iam a noob can you please tell me how to reflash

while in recovery mode probably would help, without reflashing anything.

Galaxy Ace have separate boot and recovery partition. So, to flash the recovery partition flash_image binary or write-raw-image command have to use "recoveryonly" switch.

Which kernel for CM7 ?

Hi there
I have tried to install CM7 yesterday and my SGS2 doesn t start. i have done the 3 wipes under CWM. So my question is which Kernel, firmaware... do i need to work properly with CM7 ?
I use XXKI3 and kernel blackheart 666 with cwm 4.2, darky rom.
Thx
I think you should use codeworks (not sure on spelling) CWM.. I think it has it's own kernel and you can root using SOC..

Download and flash this kernel
Download the newest nightly from here and put it into your internal sd card
Boot into CWM recovery
Wipe cache/data/dalvik cache
Flash the CM7 zip
If you get stuck at a bootloop reboot into CWM recovery and flash the CM7 twice.
Thx but how i boot in recovery mode with CWM.

if i was you id take JJE advice and do reading before you go ahead and flash. also to be able to get CM7 you need to be able to use ROMmanager Premium to download the nightlies as far as i use it.....
but anyway if you have CWM go into your apps click on CWM then scroll to reboot phone into clockwordmode recovery and press that and then your into recovery..
but seriously if i was you id watch videos on youtube on how to do it and read the guide that JJe has gave you

Guys can you help me, what am i gonna do, this is my second time, i dont flash or anything just added cwm
which cwm do you flash?
can you go to cwm mode?
You can recover by installing new firmware from Odin. Google it
This problem had occured to me as well. But ivwas able to enter cwm recovery. I just flashed a custom rom and it was all well after.

Try this
If you can enter recovery mode, try this - format system, format cache and reboot .. i think this can solve your problem. It has happened with me a couple of times and with this I was able to reboot phone without flashing another ROM.

First of all, Are you able to boot into recovery mode?
If so you can use it! Even flash CWM! And boot Android as always (probabliy you'll lose your apps and data but can revive your device without using Odin)

It will be usefull!
You can make wipe factory reset with the default recovery, but I advice you flash Acegingeroot.zip and CWM 5.0.26.FIX, if you use the stock recovery you'll lose all your apps and data but if you use CWM you can make a nandroid!! ie you could backup all your ROM (apps and data incluided)!!
Which android version are you using? I guess your device is a S5830, right?

What a strange thing... I've S5830 and I've never had to mount nothing when I've done a backup :S. Maybe because you are't root yet?¿ I don't know, but you can try to ask in the S5830I thread or to mount manually data partition
Go to mounts and storage, mount data partition and then try again
If it doesn't work or you don't want to try it, I should't advice you, so I'm sorry go to the correct thread and ask for it

I really tried but I cant flash a ROM for my ACE "i"

Hello everbody,
I tried many times but it doesnt work!
Here's the steps Im doing:
- Flash my phone with ODIN, everything works.
- I check in the apps if Im superuser: i am
- I enter the recovery mode and enter the CWM
- I do all the wipe
- I install the rom from SD
- install successfull
-I push back and reboot the system
now the problem comes out.
The cell its like freezing on the "Samsung Galaxy Ace GT..." screen, I tried to wait up untill 1 hour, but nothing happen.
note: if I try to shut it down with the power button, it turns on again, but freezes everytime on the same screen
note2: if I try the button.combo to get in the Recovery mode, it doesnt function
What I do next?
I enter the "Download mode" and re-flash the phone with ODIN
Flash stock first. When wiping dont wipe system. Some roms dont like wiping system.

Try to change kernel. Use stock one in ace i sure and flash. If it doesnt work after flashing the rom you want, try rafaels or hell locks kernel.
Even than nothing works flash stock. Use iamareebjamals boot extractor script. Flash custom rom as usual. Use the extracted boot image to recover stock boot. And if this works root your phone. It shoul be ok than.
Good Luck...

Help. Trapped in cwm startup recovery.

Hello,
Yesterday, when trying to create a backup of my current ROM (original, factory ROM) it seems that after the backup process was finished, when I tried to reboot my phone it would go directly into cwm recovery instead of starting up normally. This happens every time I try to reboot the phone. I have a Samsung Exhibit sgh-t599n (metro pcs).
Other things that may be revelant to my problem: the backup was not successful (there was a message saying something about an image not being copied). Also, in the cwm recovery menu there is a warning that says "No file_contexts".
I would appreciate any help you could give me.
Thank you

Okay so you do know how to get into Odin. Try flashing a different custom recovery. Also make sure the one you are using is made for your device. There aren't any recoveries that are universal with 1 file. Just make sure the one you are using is for your phone!
