I have to have my tablet either repaired or replaced. Has anyone does this??
I am trying to find out how long it takes, and was it a new tablet or a refurb?
I haven't actually seen anybody report doing this - most people who had early issues just brought their tablets back to the retailer. Now that we're past return period for a bunch of us, I guess somebody's going to have to figure out how the process works.
I have a broken G Tab right now (mini-USB port connector fell off the mainboard) so I'd be curious to hear what you learn. I bought another tablet, but if you can get it warranty-repaired that would be a nice option.
Actually they are going to. I got a RMA number a fedex label sent to me VIA
email, and they said once sent to them, it would take 10 to 14 days to send
out a new one. I asked if it would be a new or refurb, he did say new. I just
thought I would post asking if anyone has done this, just to be sure.
Thank you for taking the time to post this. What is broken on yours?
Please let us know how your experience goes. I hope it is quick. 10 days sounds reasonable to me.

Dust under screen. The touch screen seems weird to.
there is also the very shady option of buyin a new gtab, swapping it out with ur broken one and returning that..
So how'd it go? I'm about to send mine in but I'm hesitant because I use it for school.
Just sent mine in. Will post updates so other people learn from my experience.
Nice on the phone, but not helpful in the end. Sent my Gtablet to fix broken glass top, and they ended up sending it back to me without replacing it or fixing it in any way. They said it wasn't covered by the warranty.
Still looking for a way to replace it myself.. Tablet works, just hard to see anything with all the cracks everywhere in the glass.
As much as I love my Gtablet, Viewsonic could learn a thing or two about better warranties. Have had screen issues with my Nexus One and other devices and always had great support and got my stuff fixed.
I got an RMA number. The guy said he'd send in a new one. I told him specifically that I don't want another person's tablet. Either the same one, or brand new.
The problem with mine is that a particular off-white color is not displaying properly, and being substituted by cyan.
... You can imagine what I see when look at the Viewsonic and G-tablet intro screen upon boot up.... All cyan with weird vertical lines encircled with the logos...
Thank goodness I have 2 tablets to work with . The ****ty thing is that I have to drive across the border to ship it. One of the few cons of being a Canadian...
in last 2 years i owned bold 9700, HD2 and now sensation.
unfortunately while trying to clean dust out of the screen i damaged it it was already dropped and leaking on the corner and i separated it even more.
i havent been up to date on cell phones for last year or so
and asking your advice because i do not want to make same mistake like buying this stupid sensation phone with its issues
(camera red color and dust under screen etc)
can anyone that knows more than me about the following phones give me a quick list of major defects that i should look for ?
im planning to get the new phone this saturday and dont have any time to do research since im pretty busy at work..
here are the phones from tmobile that i was eyeballing today.
1 htc amaze how well is it built looked a bit heavy
2 tmo G2X
3 samsung exhibit 2
4 samsung galaxy s2 screen is big but resolution is not so big
can someone post pictures from following phones also? unless theres a thread with pictures i want to see quality the camera on those.
I experienced the "dust under the screen" issue with the MT4G, which I loved, but the dust made me exchange the phone 5 times
I can tell you Samsung phones don't have that problem because they fuse the screen so nothing can get it.. a HUGE plus to me
The T-Mobile Galaxy S2 had been the best phone I have ever owned by far.. and the screen outclasses anything on the market IMO.. I've held my phone next to the iPhone 4S, both playing Cut the Rope, and it almost made my friend throw his phone because he was sure the iPhone had the best screen.. it wasn't even close, the colors, the blacks, everything was so much cleaner on the S2
You will hear complaints about every phone out there, including the S2, but I promise you won't be disappointed, I wouldn't trade this phone for the new Nexus, iPhone, nada
Galaxy S2 all the way.
Have you considered the Samsung Galaxy Note? I just got it one month ago - and I just think its a unique device - works really well as a phone and a tablet, which many people doubted, s pen with s memo allows me to scribble when I am feeling creative/have ideas which are not meant just for typing etc. I do hope they bring ICS to it, which is optimized and not slowed down. You could consider this as well. I know people have S2 and are happy with it, but somehow I thought Note would make the owner feel extra special Hope this helps?
would be nice but its not available through T-mobile.
No offence m8 but you really need to go and put some effort into this one yourself. Its kind of silly to ask people who you don't know and who don't know you to decide which phone is right for you.
You need to go google this sh*t.
get a list of the phones spec.
find 2-3 review of each one and read it all.
then once you have an idea of the difference.
Cross ref what you've found out with whats
1:Essential
2:important
3:Favoured
4:a bonus feature
Than it will become very clear which one is best for you.
Asking on a forum is just plain lazy, and likely to leave you open to other peoples all too common 'mine rewls' mentality, you need to answer this one yourself m8.
no offence m8 but i didnt have time to do any of that, usually i do research but i found out about the sale a day before it so thanks for advice broski.
i listed the phones i was interested in and thats about how much time i had is to check the specs on the phones available through tmobile. other than that i didnt have time to go around forums and dig through 1000s of BS useless posts to try to locate the defects and shortcomings of every phone...
but unfortunately i ended up not upgrading anyting cuz its not worth it.
Whaaaa? Its always a good time to upgrade :]

the recent tmobile "promotion" was a big fail.
i went to the store and was told that there will be no change in my plan. and i get a the money back once i send the rebate.
to find out that i still have to pay full price for the phone over 20 month period...
that is not a damn promotion its a trick..
why the hell would anyone do that.
you get stuck with this company for 2 years AND you still have to pay full price on the phone.
i can walk in any day and buy that phone with my credit card instead and make payments on it and not have to be binded by 2 year contract...

lol .......... if you'd actually bothered to try it you'd have found everything in a couple of hours max!!!
Whats better spending some time solving your own procurement issues. After all you know what you need want and desire better than anyone else.
OR
Begging the opinions of other people who don't know you, and whos soundness of advice you have no idea about on a website.
Methinks your method indicates how committed to the venture you where, the outcome speaks volumes
cool thanks lol one person actually tried to help.
what did you not understand i didnt have time to do any research past what little searching i did...

ROFLOL ......... yeah but you had plenty of time to wait 5 days whilst you expected others to do your legwork for you
Don't wanna make this personal but your just not getting it
"One person helped"?? No m8 one person tossed you a bone ...... since you where begging, probably just bigging up whatever he owns. Everyone else's response (lack of, should tell you a lot about attitudes to posts like this. Where OP clearly states "I can't be arsed doing what i'd like you chumps to do for me".
Best advice you got was from me, your best at deciding what you need not someone else. Amazes me anyone is so lazy that they would rather take dubious advice from a forum than spend 2-3 hours educating themselves.
How old are you ......... seriously you a teen ???
Galaxy s 2 is good screen is great and lots of roms for it.
ROFLOL BRAH. because sale is over... dont need your help stop helping...
i was hoping that someone could throw some details about the phones i listed, you cant read good can you?.
your advice was not worth any more than a piece of doog poop on a sidewalk.
now that i had more time i did some more research and know more about the phones. but you obviously do not get it. and just have to have the last word even if its not relaed to the topic...
u know if soemone needs help quick i give them an answer and then we figure out if he was lazy or not...
i hope your car breaks down and you go and ask on some automotive forums for help and get same responce as you gave me "its your car you should know whats best for it BRAH!!!"
but maybe you still dont get it..
i found out about the sale a day before the sale. you follow?
i work all day.. still with me?
i was busy in teh evening and couldnt do much research. still there?
next day i was working as well and didnt have time to sit research on teh internets instead of working. after work i went to the tmobile store...
i asked if someone could give me a quick rundown of the common problems of the phones i listed... nothing more.
because i dont know how much clearer i can state my question.
"can anyone that knows more than me about the following phones give me a quick list of major defects "
anyway this thread can be deleted since it turned into useless thread.
Well thats what happens when you post a useless question.

cool another helper thanks for your help lol
So, here goes. I bought a second hand folio 100 a couple of months ago for a great price. A friend of mine said "I've rooted my tablet, I'll root yours so you can do much cooler stuff with it" (consider the fact I'm completely new to Android).
Long story short, he messed up. sigh.
So now, When I try to power up, all I get is the red glowing LED, and NOTHING else, not even the boot screen.
I've spent the past 2 days searching here and other forums, but I can't seem to find a straight answer:
Is my Tablet bricked beyond chance of repair?
Please, let the answer be no. And if the answer IS no, would anyone be kind enough to point me in the right direction? Tried following a couple of guides, but I guess I don't know enough about development to follow one.
So, before I spend days learning the how-to, I'd just like to make sure it's worth it to get my tablet back.
Thanks to anyone who can offer any help
YU
I know there are a few threads on this topic but none have answered my questions or are no longer on topic, so...
What I wanted to know and try to keep track of is what changes are being made to RMA'ed Primes that have the new parts in them and more specifically the Primes that were RMA'ed for Bluetooth/WiFi dropout (because I am having this problem ).
I was hoping to get people to post:
1. When you sent your Prime in for RMA.
2. What you sent it in for.
3. When you got it back.
4. Were the problems fixed?
Now I know that this is somewhat subjective but was hoping to hear from others if anything was changing for sure. As of right now I cannot connect BT and WiFi at the same time and am contemplating RMA'ing for the new parts but wanted to see if the new hardware was working from those already with an RMA. So if you guys and gals wouldn't mind sharing I'm hoping to keep ASUS accountable to this and encourage others to get their Primes fixed!
Please keep this thread on topic. We don't need another flame fest about what you want to complain about. We don't need to hear your speculations about what is going to happen either, just what HAS happened.

I believe the process is so slow or Asus doesn't really have all the correct information you won't see much additional info on this here. I'll probably send mine back this week and it will get lost in the RMA shuffle like my last one did. Yea, my original prime got lost and I was sent a brand new model. Different color, but nontheless a new one. I now have an RMA for the one I received back from my original RMA. One big endless RMA loop. I don't think this is costing Asus much, since it seems they only have 1 or 2 people actually working on this issue. I'm no Apple boy, but I do remember when my ipad2 screen was going bad and even before I sent out my RMA Apple sent me a new ipad2. That's what people pay for.
Still trying to work out my WIFi/BT issue. They have been very slow getting back. I'm not really able to have it sit for months in RMA, I have a 2 month old and use it as a baby monitor when I am home, and showing clients flash designs when I am out.
Would love some help Gary if you can.
soo i just bought this TFP about a week ago and there is already a place in the screen that is lifting from the backing, yes it is very small but after seeing and reading all these negative things about screens cracking and all i'm just hoping there's a way to fix this or atleast can someone help me figure what may have caused this? i'm kind of freaking out a little
this is a question but idk i have seen people asking questions but still told to put in general but since this is a question i'll place it here if its incorrect may a mod please move it to the correct place. thank you
if its barely a week old. just exchange it. don't hesitate or b.s. on it.
But that would mean shipping it all the way back to new york from california, i know its the best thing to do but I just rather not go through all that but I suppose I'll have to
