Hello...I just unlocked my bootloader and tried to CWM 2.3.4 using the new version of CWM by tenfar...I am stuck on the Motorola boot screen and my battery is too low to flash...I tried to pull the battery and put the phone on an ac charge but that did not work...any assistance is greatly appreciated
Hi,
Easiest solution is to get a universal charger from Radio Shack, $10.
Cheers!
Remove battery, put the phone in AC mode, then place battery in. It takes about 3-5 hrs to charge, then it should be okie. I met this problem too Solved that way!

. First off nice job digging up this dead corpse. Of course he found a solution. Know what it is? Dont use Tenfars recovery anymore because its completely outdated and will cause problems. As far as being able to charge yer phone are u trying to plug it in to a computer? Because if battery dies it wont work to plug it in to the comp.

No solutions on here yet?
Well, this is what I did, not sure if it will completely work yet, but so far it's doing it's thing.
- I plugged the phone into the charger adapter
- Booted the phone without holding volume down
- let the phone charge itself
- monitor battery level with volume buttons
Once that was done I could continue, as phone does not charge during flashing.
Or am I way off here?

Sorry I don't know. You might want to send it back.
Thanks for the reply will do that I guess

So I'm assuming no recovery?
My flyer wouldn't respond when I first flash hc and I had to hold power button and vol down for a really long time before it would go into bootloader.
Also ADB pull sometimes will allow you to boot.

are you able to boot into recovery?
Unfortunately not
I tried everything
Power button for eternity and nothing
Can't boot to anything, power button just keeps flashing amber
Looks like I'm going to send it in for repair
To me it seems like a battery issue, unfortunately its not accessible

I am not an expert, but I was reading this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18820479&postcount=107
It appears that you have the same issue he is having (you corrupted recovery image) that you have a bad recovery image.
You might want to ask globatron for help. I think you need to do charge your flyer using computer (very slow) and then reinstall recovery.
Can you get adb to recognize device? If so try to root the device again using the revolutionary io method and from there maybe it will repair the bad recovery
From the way it sounds it's like you're stuck in the boot loop but you can't see image
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
So you said that you had flashed cwm recovery, did you do this from cwm? if so that may be as previously stated a bad recovery (I am not aware of any version of recovery that can be flashed directly from cwm) If you can get your Flyer to charge, then use adb commands to get it to bootloader, then usd adb to flash the revolutionary recovery, you may be ok.
I remember once accidentally flashing the wrong recovery from cwm, I used adb to reflash the correct one before rebooting the Flyer again.
Not sure if this will help with your particular situation but it may be worth a try.
Cheers

So, my light doesn't flash, it just stays on, and I wasn't doing any hacking! last thing I did was turn it off normally. I plugged it into some outlets without surge protectors, could that have done it?
Continuous amber sounds like normal charging to be honest.
Pug it into a PC using the usb cable and check to see what type of device gets discovered.
Nothing gets recognized, device manager doesn't see any change just continues flashing amber
I had cwm v3xxx and saw there was a v4 from another thread and flashed that, wish I hadn't
Everything seem fine after the flash from fastboot/adb but when I returned to check, it was flashing amber ever since
Blinking amber usually means the battery is completely depleted.
You can either send it back for repair, get another battery or cobble together an offline charging method.
Thanks off to the repair shop
I hate that I am unable to charge with honeycomb since it uses more power than what the USB can charge the tablet

I am in the exact situation and can't start HTC Flyer.
Please help.
Try holding the power button for 20 seconds and see if the light goes solid amber. If so, let it charge for 30 minutes. Also make sure you are using the official charger and not a third party one.

I am in exact same situation. The Flyer is just not charging and is not recognized by computer. Tried everything.
Maybe its a problem with leak3 or with the process I followed to upgrade to leak3. I was on leak2 and had applied system image and boot image to upgrade to leak3.
Anyway the end result it that my Flyer is a brick. Do you think HTC will fix this?
So. Did you solve the problem?

I don't believe you are in the same or even a similar situation. I'm pretty sure the problem in your case is that your battery is flat and you can't charge it because your hboot doesn't match your recovery. When you connect the charger you get a flashing amber LED, correct?
EDIT, sorry cnewsgrp; I mistook you for someone else, I remember your issue now. Completely discharged and wouldn't charge from there.
I have a white galaxy note on AT&T rooted with saurom 7.1 and for some reason when I use my USB extension with the original or after market charging wire the phone will not charge, in fact it still uncharges while I'm using it but it shows it plugged in.
It's not the rom because it did it before I flashed it from stock and also on the ICS leak and now again on saurom 7.1. Without the extension though it charges perfectly normal and quickly. One day it took 6 hours to go from 2% to 13% while it wasn't in use. I've also tried using other extensions I have and the one identical one did the same thing and another shorter one actually didn't allow the phone to charge at all or show it was plugged in... What gives?

I would recalibrated the battery using a app that requires root in market.....wait till it hits 100 then recalibrate it....then let it drain all the way down....charge to 100 then do it again....this way the battery and system knows the true values...just my opinion I would try

Are you plugging into a wall outlet or a USB port on computer. There are a number of battery threads on here, but the quick recap is that the USB port on your computer isn't going to charge your Note very quickly or at all when you use it because the USB port doesn't provide enough power.
It'll charge much faster from the wall.
And even faster if you're not using it.

From the wall with a USB extension it took 5-6 hours to go up 12% without it, it goes to 12% in 5-7 minutes. This is without using it.

I had the same problem with my note, it wouldn't charge via data cable or factory charging cable or 3rd party cable. After speaking with Samsung they said that this is a known issue, but did not tell me what the issue was except that it did not affect the battery. They sent me a new device, and was instructed to use my original back cover, battery, and they sent me a replacement factory charging cable and was instructed to use it exclusively. I got the feeling it was a port/cable issue and that they were well aware of it with an efficient return policy set up. Maybe you won't have to go this route, but a free (new, not reman) phone is a free phone.

Little more description of your problem would help.
As was asked, does the screen shut off, or does it completely shut down and then show you the charging screen?
Have you checked your logs to see what your phone has to say? (and if you haven't, don't ask "How do I do that?", there's a number of threads that have discussed it. Do a simple google/xda/google play search for dmesg)

My phone does the same. When I plug in the charger ( USB cable plugged into wall unit) the screen shuts off, I hear a click inside the phone, and then the phone reboots over and over. If I plug it in with the power off, I see the battery, with the cursor for about 2 seconds, then repeated over and over.
On my phone the USB port was broken so I purchased a replacement " board", not just the connector, and put it in. Any thoughts. Thanks. Phone is fine otherwise.

What I would do is first make a Nandroid backup (I'm assuming you know how to, since you have a custom ROM) and maybe a TiBu backup as well.
Then, try going into CWM and wiping data to factory reset, wiping the cache, and wiping Dalvik cache, then reflashing the latest version of the ROM you already have installed. See if that helps. It probably isn't an issue with your ROM but then again precautions are always good to narrow down the real problem.
Good thought. Did try that and no better. Sending in for warranty. Pretty sure it is a hardware issue.

Yeah. Sounds like it would be a hardware problem. Not sure why I thought it might be something else.

I had this problem. It is due to using an aftermarket battery without Near Field Communication. The batter I have seems to be authentic Samsung, but was made for the i9100, with doesn't have this NFC chip. These aftermarket batteries have to be charged in a separate charger. You will notice the NFC batteries are slightly thicker and have "Near Field Communication" under the Samsung logo.
That could be it. I already sent it in for repair, but I did purchase 3 genuine Samsung batteries for the i9100 to use in my i777. They work fine in my i9100. Good to know. Thanks.

Samsung knows about this
I know this is an old thread, but I just called Samsung for this problem on a non custom ROM, non-rooted, S2 and the agent didn't specifically say that it is a known problem but he told me he would set up free repair without even asking when I bought it or any other purchase verification. I work for a fairly large tech retailer and in my experience this usually means that it is a known issue.
I did find it to be the batteries that i purchased. They were for the i-9100. The att version needs a device appropriate battery. They say nfc on them. I sent it in for repair and samsung said that they couldnt find anything wrong

Have you tried wipe cache and dalvik?
I have same problem sometimes even when not plugged in. I think it might be cause of some Stweaks setting when the screen is off for a long time. Please let me know what I can change.
I have the exact same issue, I ordered this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BGM392G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it shuts off when plugged in. I flashed a custom kernel and it fixed the issue, but it happens all over when I odin to stock. Is this a HW problem with my phone, or just a bad battery? EDIT- I looked under the label and there is indeed no nfc antenna, even though the label says nfc and there are 4 contact points. I will be returning the battery and updating.

Hi all. I have a big problem. I placed my phone onto my desk before sleeping (my battery was +/-55%). When I woke up my phone did not want to go on. I tried charging it for 3 hours with my 2 pin charger and it still didn't want to come on (the charging battery animation didn't even show). I also tried charging with the USB cable via PC but that didn't help. I used my multi-meter to check if the battery was working and it showed that it contains +/-3.4V (battery is rated 3.5V). I tried to boot up into recovery mode (volume down + home button + power button) but it still didn't come on
I bought my phone at the beginning of the year (brand new) and it has been working with no problems until today. I have essential data on my phone (phone book, messages, apps etc) which are really important and I wouldn't want to lose them. Help would be much appreciated.

But how can it get bricked out of the blue? Was working perfectly night before happened. The only app I installed was Angry Birds: Star Wars (officially from Play Google Market).
Hard to say. Phones (like any other electronics) can die for all kinds of obscure reasons.
Service centre or JTAG repair; if you choose the latter option (assuming it can be JTAG'd & it's not a hardware issue), you could ask the repairer if they can recover your data. Might be possible. Service centre will wipe it if it if it's not a hardware issue, and if it is, they'll replace the MB which means you get new internal storage/you'll lose your stuff.
LOL.

I have the exact same issue with my i9100. I woke up and it was dead. No recovery mode, no download mode, nada...nothing comes up on screen. I can not believe that just happened overnight, the only possibility is that you put some of the room's, if you have a warranty on the device, you can send it to the service and just hope that they will accept it and serviced
