[ROM + KERNEL + RADIO] Testing - Benchmarking - Stable - Batt - Bugs - HTC EVO 3D

Hey Guys,
Dont know if its allowed to open a thread like this here but i think it would be good info for new people and users.
People that test roms and kernels and radio's would you be so kind to tell what you use and report here also with bugs if so.
Long-d and I have been flashing and testing for two days now , we both coming from DHD and since last week we both have the EVO 3D to play with .
So we tested all possible mixes from roms and kernels on it , Long-d have standard radio and I have newest radio.
Our conclusion :
ROM : [ROM] [JAN 30] ShaWn3D ROM 1.4 | Stock | Beats | ICS/HC Themed
Kernel : [KERNEL][2011-11-23]kAmMa's Lightweight Kernel for EVO3D GSM v1.0
Batt : still to come
Bugs : Nothing yet
Setcpu on 1.5Ghz and ondemand =>
From kernelthread :
Antutu Benchmark at 1.5GHZ without SD
RAM 826
CPU INTEGER 1799
CPU FLOAT POINT 768

CPU INTEGER 2057
CPU FLOAT POINT 910

3D 1146
DATABASE I/O 375

This combination ROM = Kernel is best we tested out, radio doesn't do much .
We seen on stock kernel that games like nfs are slower then on custom kernel even on 1.2Ghz
Its really stable the rom with this kernel and didn't had any issue nor bug.
please dont ask me about battery yet , will tell after two days more running.
This was for our phones , other phones maybe behave diffrent.
This doesnt mean other roms or kernels are less good!
Its just to get info from other users on other ROMS and KERNELS

I'd be interested in seeing more tests than just benchmarks.
They can be used as a rough comparison, but really my benchmarks will differ greatly from yours using the same device/rom/kernel.
One very important aspect, at least for me is battery life. How does the battery fare? During a power-drain and an endurance test.

Thanks Nice Thread.
About the battery: I ve exactly the same rom & kernel configuration like you. And the Battery run time isn't good. After 7h Standby ( Phone on / Wifi off) from 100% to just 46%
The thing is that the battery power is on every rom kernel combination i've tried so bad. I don't know what's the difference between yours and mine...Maybe you can help me.

Im having the same problem, maybe its radio related. What radio do you have?
I have: 10.53.9020.00_10.13.9020.08_2
I might flash: 10.59.9020.00_10.15.9020.06 , hopefully it will improve the battery,

yes i know and told in my post it can be moved by admin if its wrong here , but i collect all data from all so people can see what matches best.
is it much diffrent then :
[GSM][KERNELS][30.1.2012][v1.08]Difference between each kernel via Antutu, and more..
if so , tell a admin to move the thread
people can compare , test and help from all-in-one stuff...

did you tried that?
how do you get that kind of score in quadrant? I already OCed my wt19i to 1.9ghz and got only a score of 1800.. what tweaks did you applied?
Does benchmark score really matter that much to you guys? Its just numbers
Benchmarks are for people, who like to showoff.
These numbers are not important at all, the real performance is what matters.
since my galaxy mini with cm7 oc'd to 800mhz got higher score than my LWW, using quadrant advance, i quit believing those app....

Precisely. Benchmark score if bragged publicly is just like saying "my thing is bigger than yours". Just pure pathedic.

What? People still believe on 'benchmarks'? It's numbers for bragging.
And also if you want to test the stability of your phone, there's this stress-testing tool to see if your oc/uv/uc is stable enough for normal everyday use. Click me.

Stability tests can be dangerous. When your phone can't take that much power(overclocked CPU), it might just kill itself(due to temperature).
Basically, just play a HD game on your phone and you can put fun and stability test to one.

Post your bench mark results;
Rom - Viper's 4.1 latest
Kernel - ButterToast 16.2
Governor - Lag Free
Scheduler - BFQ
CPU Freq - 1566 MHz
No under/over volting .
I'm sure I could retrieve higher scores if I were to over clock it a bit more. Over volt and use a more aggressive Governor...

If that was the case I would have suggested you use the search functions before posting instead of linking the threads for you.
Do you really think another benchmark thread is necessary versus just posting in one of the many that have already been created? If you are going to start a new one I suggest that it be a little more focused than 'let's post our benchmarks'. At least a common benchmark utility as has been done in some of the previous threads, and maybe focused on a particular Android version (GB, ICS, JB).
So no, I'm not a mod in training, just a user that is tired of seeing the same thread topics posted over and over. And what I linked in my previous response should satisfy your curiosity and then some.

Some basic Kernel Test Results:

I'm using The Latest Venom Rom on International HTC One X+.
Decided, as I was bored to try 3 different kernels on quadrant.
For each test I used Quadrant standard and made sure no apps were running in back ground.
I did 2 tests per kernel.
Results:
Speedy Kernel =
Test 1: 6427
Test 2: 6480
Elite Kernel =
Test 1: 6224
Test 2: 6033
Venom Kernel:
Test 1: 6161
Test 2: 5917
Using Venom kernel I used to get a regular average of 7400-7600 on Quadrant.
Any Ideas why not anymore?

The best ROM for longest battery life

Hi guys
So far i tried almost all the ROMs available for 780 and what i found is no matter which i use the battery backup remains the same.
The noticeable difference is of and hour or so that's all.... same goes to RAM
usually its been advertised in ROM that plenty of RAM and longer battery life but i found all of them more or less same.
my score.
Battery - 60 hrs , wifi on , general use of whats app nothing else
RAM - around 450 MB free
Whats your score ? and which one is the best ROM considering those two criteria...

I found the MIUI the best in those two criteria. After 1 year of usage and plenty of Battery draining apps, atop of the system s228 which is lousy (i feel) when it comes to RAM management and battery, it would las t only for 1 day and then some. Using MIUI, it lasts for 2 whole days with WiFi and Whatsapp on!

How someone got this score on antutu.

hey have look at this screenshot..!
The person that provided me this screenshot said that he is developing a new kernel.
But then i saw the score not validated as it was red but then he said would release the kernel to select users and also he said he will be making a video on the kernel highlights.
But how did he attain such high scores???
Holy crap how is that even possible ? Who is this magician ? It doesn't look like overclock , CPU score is less important than our actual values (24000 for 1804 + 1440 MHz)
Need some explanation but wow , wait &see
ol I got almost 100k once on old guyver kernel + eu miui dev with kernel tweaks and heavy debloat on my 2GB ram model k3nzo
but thats the reason I dont trust this benchmark...
Ok so i contacted the guy named Riju and he said his work would take another week to compare before releasing it to the public.
He also mentions the support for nougat rooms and mm miui roms, quick charge 3.0,improved battery performance and better graphics with vulkan api stork

This totally insane!!
Antutu 6.0.1 could be easily used to have a good score I don't know how, but it's in link with the kernel... I could go to 120K with guyver kernel ... but it's bug is just with antutu 6.0.1
https://youtu.be/uOlOSbLp-J8?list=PLyjrOYSiemcuTICj-NBeqHHXqXuukSoIa
antutu is not a good way to judge device performance.
this score is complete bs... this version of antutu can be manipulated to have this high of a score. tell this kernel creator to run a new benchmark using the latest antutu version and see how it fares.
I flash Vulkan API and android N blobs for SD650, got 86k, if overclock might near 100k, but that's too high in the image.
AIDA screenshot for Vulkan API proof.

Performance will feel better for sure. Battery life, system stability, product life and thermals will suffer though. Which do you find more important is the real question I guess.
but why do u want this score overclocking means higher risk of damage an just getting 20000 more wont do any wonders, apps incompatible will stay like that. It is a great phone which in my opinion dosent need overclocking atleast for now.
