I've had a nose for newest member of SE Walkman family, this small phone tweaked turns out to be powerful and perspective yet very affordable phone! Ice-cream sandwich officially announced, great sound, solid camera, and , and... overclockable hardware geek index 10+ No more introduction, lets get to numbers...
1. CM 7.2 ROM with its own kernel, OC-ed at max 1.6 GHZ stable, Quadrant score of 2700!!
2. Stock 4.0.2.A.0.58 ROM vanilla, Quadrant score 1800.
3. Stock 4.0.2.A.0.58 ROM with RAGE KERNEL V2 (OC open to 2.0 GHZ) on my phone goes 1.9 GHZ stable making Quadrant score of 2550 , will try tonight combining Cyanogenmod ROM and RAGE KERNEL V2, it should penetrate 3k barrier , geek's wet dream
No kernel at the moment is UV (undervolting) capable.

did you tried that?
how do you get that kind of score in quadrant? I already OCed my wt19i to 1.9ghz and got only a score of 1800.. what tweaks did you applied?
Does benchmark score really matter that much to you guys? Its just numbers
Benchmarks are for people, who like to showoff.
These numbers are not important at all, the real performance is what matters.
since my galaxy mini with cm7 oc'd to 800mhz got higher score than my LWW, using quadrant advance, i quit believing those app....

Precisely. Benchmark score if bragged publicly is just like saying "my thing is bigger than yours". Just pure pathedic.

What? People still believe on 'benchmarks'? It's numbers for bragging.
And also if you want to test the stability of your phone, there's this stress-testing tool to see if your oc/uv/uc is stable enough for normal everyday use. Click me.

Stability tests can be dangerous. When your phone can't take that much power(overclocked CPU), it might just kill itself(due to temperature).
Basically, just play a HD game on your phone and you can put fun and stability test to one.

thanks for the info.. then my way in testing my phone is right.
is there no compatibility between rom and kerner even if they are for the phone model
Hey Guys,
Dont know if its allowed to open a thread like this here but i think it would be good info for new people and users.
People that test roms and kernels and radio's would you be so kind to tell what you use and report here also with bugs if so.
Long-d and I have been flashing and testing for two days now , we both coming from DHD and since last week we both have the EVO 3D to play with .
So we tested all possible mixes from roms and kernels on it , Long-d have standard radio and I have newest radio.
Our conclusion :
ROM : [ROM] [JAN 30] ShaWn3D ROM 1.4 | Stock | Beats | ICS/HC Themed
Kernel : [KERNEL][2011-11-23]kAmMa's Lightweight Kernel for EVO3D GSM v1.0
Batt : still to come
Bugs : Nothing yet

This combination ROM = Kernel is best we tested out, radio doesn't do much .
We seen on stock kernel that games like nfs are slower then on custom kernel even on 1.2Ghz
Its really stable the rom with this kernel and didn't had any issue nor bug.
please dont ask me about battery yet , will tell after two days more running.
This was for our phones , other phones maybe behave diffrent.
This doesnt mean other roms or kernels are less good!
Its just to get info from other users on other ROMS and KERNELS
I'd be interested in seeing more tests than just benchmarks.
They can be used as a rough comparison, but really my benchmarks will differ greatly from yours using the same device/rom/kernel.
One very important aspect, at least for me is battery life. How does the battery fare? During a power-drain and an endurance test.

About the battery: I ve exactly the same rom & kernel configuration like you. And the Battery run time isn't good. After 7h Standby ( Phone on / Wifi off) from 100% to just 46%
The thing is that the battery power is on every rom kernel combination i've tried so bad. I don't know what's the difference between yours and mine...Maybe you can help me.
Im having the same problem, maybe its radio related. What radio do you have?

Alright so: found the fastest sensless ROM was slimrom. With quadrant I scored about 4k on funky kernel. Mostly all sense based ROM scored around that that's with funky. Now that I installed rage ROM aosp I'm getting laggier performance in games and about a 2- 3k quadrant benchmark score. Same with antutu benchmark. Lower scores then on sense. This dosnt make sense. I thought aosp ROMs (cm9) were so pose to be godly and around faster then she sense based. But lower benchmark and lower fps and lag in games this sucks. Still running funky. I noticed that system tuner was acting up and making it do all weird things so I cleared data and uninstalled rebooted and still got same scores. Force GPU was checked in all ROMs and kernel versions. And all benchmarks were dine with ball the same CPU setting. Maybe an app is acting up and robing performance? I'm not get any abnormal heat or batter drain.
Did you check the built in cpu manager within the settings? If you have an app to govern it, they will battle over control causing lag.

Yes and I only use the built in one to control. I was reading that this is a common problem with cm9 and going from android v 4.0.4 to 4.0.3 might fix it. As in different cm9 ROM.
Told you this before and hate to sound like a broken record. Don't use System Tuner with my kernel, use Android Tuner or CPU Tweaker (these replaced System Tuner for a reason) on Sense roms.

I don't touch any CPU settings with ST. None. Its pretty much installed for freezing apps task manager to see what's running and the widget. That's it. All CPU settings are dine through CM in the performance section.
NEVER NEVER NEVER turn force GPU rendering on (breaks MANY apps), thats the BIGGEST mistake MANY people do on these forums along with those so-called universal "build.prop" tweaks which do absolutely nothing. Try using the stock kernel first to see if its kernel related.

I've tested both games mc3 and nova 3 and both run better with it enabled. I've also tried multiple versions of kernel. Found 1.4 gives good performance and battery I've read tho that it is is a cm9 problem and that its "known"??r idk how true that is tho. Its mainly just games that I'm lagging on.

Triple buffering. You're thinking about triple buffering. We'll only get all those benefits with a full implementation of Project Butter, which is not automatic with jellybean. Right now, what we have is very uneven. Some things are smooth, some things are choppier. Getting a full ION implementation should smooth things out, but it still won't be Project Butter.

People are stating that the performance is much improved after flashing the kernel. So I want to ask how does GTA sanandreas run on the device is it comparable to the ONEPLUS ONE ? Could anyone maybe upload a short sample to youtube of the game running at max settings on the device with the Blu_spark kernel ?

Why wouldn't it be the correct decision ? it could be completely optional
Yeah. I wish that someone would even make a 2.5ghz possible as optional. People that tweak with kernels usually know what they are doing plus one setting that is above the normal values would not even bloat it. Also we have thermal limit that will kick in that there will be no damage. It would be nice to experiment just a little bit.
Ps. Still one helluva kernel. Thanks to eng.stk
Great kernel. I use it on CM 13 with an incredible undervolt. I'd bet I could hit even 2.8ghz easily and stay under stock voltages. Loving it for everything else though.

You dont want to use anyones voltage settings. Undervolting is random. Some people get amazing results while someone gets crashing.
Undervolting cpu makes the phone run cooler and will save a bit of battery also.
Less heat also means that the cpu will propably survive a bit longer. Same goes for battery because cpu temps affect the battery too.
You just need to test all the voltages yourself and see what works and what does not.
Always make a backup that if something goes wrong you can always restore the system.
Also if you undervolt dont go complaining to devs about crashing or system lockups.

It's probably normal then. I am also using the same rom and core 5/core 6 are shown running at 0.0 KHz. Basically, the system automatically manages the state of those cores depending on cpu usage in order to save battery life.
Last two cores are the big cluster(high performance) cores which come online under more loads due to hot-plugging.
Try loading a video or a game and see whether these cores come online.
