O2 XDA Policies

Hi guys, was wondering if anybody know of a Policy Editor style util/tool for the O2 XDA.
We ship these XDA's to our clients to use with our custom designed software, however we dont want them to run anything bar our software.
With Windows you can use Policy Editor to allow only authorised applications to be executed. Can this be done with the XDA's.
Oh one more thing, does anbody know how to delete the settings folder off the start menu?
Thanks guys (and gals) for you help in advance.
Mike
Don't know if there is a policy editor but I recall reading about a product from SPB Software house (http://www.spbsoft.com/index.html) that sounds like it might be what you need.
Please check out SPB Kiosk @ http://www.spbsoft.com/products/kioskengine/index.html
Hope this helps. Regards
k_kirk,

Mike,
Thanks for your kind words. I'd be interested in finding out about your experiences. Seems like SPB is putting in some effort in the Enterprise area which is great to see. I do use some of their products on personal basis but have not had as chgance to see how well they do this zone. Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards & Good Luck

[Q] Running Alternate launchers from PC

Hello experts,
I have a question, and have done some reading, but can't find the answer I hope to hear. I know that I can run some emulators that run Android on the PC, but what I haven't heard is if I can run an alternate launcher on the PC.
what I want to do is run SSLauncher the Original on my PC so that I can easily create the screens I want. Make my modifications from the comfort of my desk using keyboard and mouse instead of my phone. And then maybe take that and install to my phone. If not, at least I would know how to make it and the steps would be alot quicker doing it right before hand.
So, is this something I can do, and if so, how? Thanks in advance for all the help guys and gals!
ANyone out there got any pointers about this?

What are the Benefits of Rooting

Hello, I wanted to know what the Benefits of rooting an Asus Transformer Prime would be if you are not going to flash roms?
For me....
I only wanted to use proxydroid. I have a proxy server that need domain auth.
But since I routed it, I'm amazed by other applications that needs root access. From simple overclocking apps to more complete backups.
In the end its what you want or need. I needed to use a proxy server and if asus doesnt want to add that function fine... but then dont blame me for rooting mine..
Perhaps searching this forum, or searching general android forums will give you the answer more quickly.
kind of an open and big question.
the main answer is, more freedom to do what you want with certain applications.

I really just want to do A2SD, which I can do on my EVO 3d without rooting, is there a way to do this on the ASUS 300?

[Q] Remote Android execution environments

Hi,
I saw on Internet some services that give you the possibility to test an Android app on the web: for example, Manymo launches an emulator on a remote server and give you the possibility to interact with it. AppSurfer let you test your Android app in an emulator-like environment. Pieceable Viewer is similar to AppSurfer but for iOS.
According to you, how these services are implemented?
Maybe there are some emulators running on a remote server on which run a vnc server, but looking at AppSurfer or PieceableViewer they looks too responsive for this implementation.
Any ideas?
Thanks
There's a forum for the Motorola Defy, and looking around, I find many people asking the same question as you. Apparently, there's still no way to root it.
Keep looking/waiting.

I'm sorry but I didn't understood your answer. I looked in the Motorola Defy forum but I didn't find any reference to what I was asking for
Can you paste the link of the thread you're speaking about?
Thank you
No one has any idea about it?
(I hope this is the correct section of the forum for this type of thread)
Wow. Sorry, I must have replied to the wrong thread! I have no memory of reading your post.
Whoops!

[Q] Too Big a Challenge for a Beginner?

I've just started to learn how to program for android.
I'm really interested in designing my own launcher. Is this going to be to hard for me?
If so what programs could I write that would give me the experience I need to eventually write a launcher?
Another program Idea I've had involved tasker integration. Is this idea also going to be to hard for me?
Thanks in Advance for any help or advice given.
