Anyone having battery problem with xBoarder's BulletProof 2.4.0? - HTC Amaze 4G

It's draining my phone like hell......it was fine in 2.3.1.
I'm experienced user and I know I dont have bluetooth, wifi, data, or anything like that on. No backgroup stuff either.
It's like 1% for 5 min.

And why do you need to post such question here?

Because it's the general section for the Amaze, and this is where this type of question belongs.
To the OP did you wipe data, cache & davlik before flashing? Also what kernel are you using?

"Battery problem with xboarder's bulletproof" cannot be anymore specific but yeah lets open new threads and become famous to the op, might be smarter asking where bulletproof belongs, that way you might get more feedback from bulletproof's users. As it regards ur concern, just deactivate automatic sync of social networks and ur battery life will be back to normal. Nothing to do with kernels

before this turns into a flame war...not everyone is able to post in the development section especially if they are new...the question belongs here since we do not have a Q/A section.
Let's get back to the topic. to the OP: can you be more specific about what is going on with your battery? 1 percent when screen is off or screen is on???

You could recalibrate your battery. Charge to 100 then go to recovery and wipe the battery stay, then unplug and drain the battery completely. After another full charge, battery life should improve.
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using XDA App

I've noticed a little extra drain myself, but then again i haven't charged the device to 100% yet since flashing... Haven't been concerned about though.
Overall still a wonderful rom, thank you xboarder

I would like to followup... Although i have not been using my phone, since my last post here i only lost 2%... That's not bad
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk

The draining is from that the power manager can't step down the cpu. There is a process that is interfering with the power manager.

I have not had such problems. My battery lasts around 14-16 hours with normal to heavy use. That is with wifi on all the time, calls, some games, and lots of trolling around the Internet. Did you flash the kernel that is included in the zip file? And if so are you over clocked? Like someone else already said, calibrate your battery. There is an app for it in the market that make it idiot proof.

Just get the kernel from an older version and system tuner under clock it. Or try another rom fourth bar ics theme been good for me

For your information the OP cannot post in the Development section until he/she has 10 or more posts.

[Q] Flashing ROMs

So I got the 3500 mAh battery for my eris and have it pretty much perfectly conditioned and have never flashed without having the battery at 100% because I have heard it can mess with the battery stats or something like that if you flash while not on 100%, but I still have my old battery, could I pop that in, while its not on 100%, flash the rom, and then switch to the new battery. Or would that mess with the phone?
Are you being serious? Btw, this is not development related, it belongs in q&a.

Whoops sorry, I honestly just accidently posted that in the wrong section.
And yes I'm being serious, sorry for asking a question not up to your intelligence level?

i've flashed with battery as low as 35% (but i don't recommend... just to cma).
in any case... flash it however you want i think the "official" answer is 85% is what verizon recommends before doing an OTA.
in any case... you're good to go!
You shouldn't dis on someone's intelligence and at the same time put a question mark at the end of a statement.

You shouldn't be a douchebag to people less knowledgeable about things like this. But thank you very much Tenzo for not being a douchebag and giving me a good answer
Sorry if I came off "douchebaggy," it just looked like a question that if it were important it would've been asked a lot more. I just never worried about that before and it kinda threw me off. Again, sorry bro!

Yeah i was just worried about getting my 3500 battery out of conditioning or anything like that, because I don't have the time to condition it. If that makes sense lol, anyways all good now sorry for posting in the wrong section.

Don't post in dev sections if you need help with something, especially if no-one can understand what your question is or how the can help. Ask in Q&A, you're far more likely to get help there.
If you mean that "3g" does not really work on your device and nothing happens when you try loading a website, i can tell you it IS actually that slow. but JieeHD is right, please post questions in Q&A...
which leads me to one question: how the hell is he able to do his first (!!) post in dev section?! when i joined, there still was some 10-posts-rule...

Yeah its a good rule, keeps the threads cleaner IMO. I know there is possibly users out there that have some useful info to share but its rare. I think we need to ask a mod what's going on, I'll ask pulser when I get the chance.

yeah definately does ;D but i can remember when i first rooted and installed elelinux (it was 0.2 back then ) i noticed some issues but was unable to report them.. and it took until 0.5 when someone noticed and ele fixed.. i think in special situations there should be possibilities to send some pm to a mod , would help to find bugs earlier... especially new users do alot play around and maybe find something we would never have tried?
thank you for asking, keep me up to date would be interested, maybe this is another strange xda-premium thing? were you able to instantly post in dev section with your xda pro app?

Hey, I'm from the Legend forums, just browsing through, when I noticed this thread.
1) DUDE WTF
2) Yeah, in our forum, there was one instance of a guy with 1 post posting in our NewSense thread. I was confuzzled.
3) I think the OP is wonder if the 3G data usage is somehow connected to the H icon that appears when data is being used. Maybe, maybe not.
Either way, NOOB.

Maybe that's why they opened up that Moderator Application announcement I saw a week back.
Hmmm.. I didn't see that, got a link?

Although I didn't look hard, I'm not sure where it went. I know it caught my attention the first time because it was a general announcement.
But then after googling the terms in the custom search, there was a moderator opening going on about a year ago today. So maybe that got dug up and screwed over? Anyway, I wasn't interested so I barely looked at the date. Will keep my eyes open though!
FOUND IT RIGHT AFTER I POSTED THIS D:

hehe mod announcement already closed again but this doesnt answer how he could make 1st post in dev sections, when i tried having 7 posts it still said "youve got to have at least 10" and denied posting in here...
as from obvious knowledge and status, he's not a mod or admin either. strange. did you find out anything JieeHD?

Its not same. Other thread is more details whats disabled what apps you using and **** i dont care what you use i want to know what version of the kernel seem to be best battery wise. DO NOT post in here unless you posting kernel and version.

Go try for yourself ROM 1.1 and wow people are ignorant kernel 2.6.
EDIT: PUTTING HELPFUL STUFF HERE?
Each persons use and what the expect of the phone is different. If you have wakelocks keeping your phone awake due to a rogue app, you will have less of a battery life than others. Asking people what they use is like asking what browser they use. Some might be better than others but it depends on what you like and what you are used to.
Oh and if something makes a difference, look at the amounts of thanks compared to the # of posts... and he even has a "GIVE ME THANKS" sig.... If you have to ASK for thanks, something is wrong with you.
Entropy512s kernel is basically legendary for how good it is. I've read people love 12/8, and 2/07 I believe and a few others. I use his latest.
I've read Siyah is good too, people claim better battery live on 2.6.8 and 2.6.9.
I wouldn't say either is "best" but I prefer Entropys. It's smooth and comes with CWM verses the, I believe, redpill in Siyah.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
Kernel alone has little to do with battery life. There are so many factors affecting battery usage that the premise of your question is worthless and is the reason these kinds of threads get closed. They serve no purpose. As was said, try them for yourself because that's the ONLY way you will find what works best for you, your phone and the way you use it. There are no shortcuts in this regard.

Battery Problem

Since upgrading to ICS i have a problem with the battery.
Firstly, it drains a lot quicker. But worse than that, if i plug it in to charge the charging indicator comes on but the phone doesn't charge. I can leave it for several hours and battery percentage won't have increased at all and the phone is absolutely burning red hot! So now everytime i need to charge my phone i have to switch it off to charge it. This only happened the day i upgraded to ICS.

FORUM RULES
1. Search before posting.
So presumably you can tell us.

Use a bit of common sense. Why do you think it would get hot? Logically, two thoughts come to mind
1). Something is making the CPU/GPU operate at a high frequency - see my previous reply to find what.
2). Something is wrong with your hardware - contact Samsung.
There may well be further points, but it's a start for you.

As for the battery issue, you need a control to measure this against. Like someone mentioned earlier go back to GB, if the problem goes away then you can atleast be confident its to do with ICS. Are you on stock ICS (unrooted?), in which case you probably best getting in touch with manufacturer. If you've installed a custom rom etc, try reinstalling the rom
AAAaaw this thread had so much potential..... but it ended soon
if your on custom kernel or rom it could be kernel issue.
it could be a modem issue
so the answer remain go back to stock GB. no custom rom/kernel

[Q] What is the best Rom besides Omega?

i'm just kidding, there isn't any Best Roms We should try it ourselves, but if any body can give some quick tips about having better battery life or tweaks of undervolting using custom kernels. Thanks Guys
Watch what you synch, disable Google backup, freeze everything Samsung related, possibly disable the Google location services if you don't need it as this works constantly because of Google now.....black or dark wallpapers, die Facebook, die! Use siyah with some u/v, not that it makes a huge difference, but all in all, for best battery just try chipping away at it
1. Unnecessary post.
2. It makes very little sense and my eyes hurt trying to read it.
Other than that, well, disable sync, GPS and make wifi die during sleep. Also disable Google location services and whatnot which are known to chew through the battery. Oh, and Facebook alone can eat up 1% extra per hour, just so you know.
