Ya. This thread is gonna get closed. There's really only 2 kernel options so it's not that hard to try them both out.

Its not same. Other thread is more details whats disabled what apps you using and **** i dont care what you use i want to know what version of the kernel seem to be best battery wise. DO NOT post in here unless you posting kernel and version.

Go try for yourself ROM 1.1 and wow people are ignorant kernel 2.6.
EDIT: PUTTING HELPFUL STUFF HERE?
Each persons use and what the expect of the phone is different. If you have wakelocks keeping your phone awake due to a rogue app, you will have less of a battery life than others. Asking people what they use is like asking what browser they use. Some might be better than others but it depends on what you like and what you are used to.
Oh and if something makes a difference, look at the amounts of thanks compared to the # of posts... and he even has a "GIVE ME THANKS" sig.... If you have to ASK for thanks, something is wrong with you.
Entropy512s kernel is basically legendary for how good it is. I've read people love 12/8, and 2/07 I believe and a few others. I use his latest.
I've read Siyah is good too, people claim better battery live on 2.6.8 and 2.6.9.
I wouldn't say either is "best" but I prefer Entropys. It's smooth and comes with CWM verses the, I believe, redpill in Siyah.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
Kernel alone has little to do with battery life. There are so many factors affecting battery usage that the premise of your question is worthless and is the reason these kinds of threads get closed. They serve no purpose. As was said, try them for yourself because that's the ONLY way you will find what works best for you, your phone and the way you use it. There are no shortcuts in this regard.

He's just asking a simple question. No need to answer that way.
Yes, it IS true that there probably isn't MUCH of a difference between this and EC01...
However, this is what I was waiting on to update my ROM, personally, so I will be doing this in the next few days. As for what other developers would like to do, that is a personal choice, they may simply not see any reason to and won't.
So besides those like me who make the choice to do anything with it, you probably won't see anything happen. Just keep in mind that just because it is official doesn't really make it any better than what we have at this moment. I haven't explored it yet, but that is my opinion on the matter.

When the OP cannot understand simple forum rules I see no reason to censor comments made towards him *edit* unless the intention is to "flame" said user.
This is a question, not a ROM or anything being DEVELOPED and it has no place here.
Now say if this were asked in Q and A I would see your reasoning at being a little harsh.

also most people want aosp,cm fixes and this will not help them, the stuff they want fixed is tied to tw which had been stated hundreds of times.
SC2.9.2 Voodoo Eclipse
Something to that effect (Touchwiz source doesn't help AOSP so much) should honestly be stickied to the top of the development forum, although I doubt that would help that much anyway with the type of people who post these threads...
People don't remember how long it took for JT to even get a good Eclair AOSP build working. I think it's somewhat clear that Samsung's releases are not terribly useful for AOSP ROMs.

Sorry I just think it's a little rude to post this in the Development forum is exclamation points and CAPS!!! It came off very "ugh why do these dev roms have so many problems can we just get them fixed? GAWD!"...to me. I am not a developer but I am very aware that it is not nearly as simple to do what they do as some people seem to think. Maybe I over reacted a little, but that type of attitude pisses me off.

The reason we have threads dedicated to kernels is so that you can click on those threads and read what people are saying about them. From there, you flash the kernel and you watch how your phone behaves for a day or two. At this point, you come back to the kernel thread and make a post about your experience.
Creating threads asking for people to do this for you is lazy but it also doesn't really work. Why? Because your device couple with your usage patterns will be different than the 6 people who actually reply to your thread with random kernel recommendations. Making this post and the hundreds we get exactly like it COMPLETELY POINTLESS AND A WASTE OF SPACE. If you're too lazy to read/search and make up your own mind, XDA might not be for you.

Getting a stock Amaze today.
Background: I've rooted, S-off'd, and ROM'd *other* HTC phones before and used ARHD on the Sensation.
I'm looking for root, stability, and good battery life. I don't care much about minor performance tweaks.
Is hasoon2000's all in one tool the best way to root today?
Are any of the rom's a big improvement over stock with no serious side effects?
I know there are FAQs and Wiki's, but I've also been around XDA long enough to ask before diving in to a new phone before I use possibly outdated guides.
Thanks in advance.

Anyhow, the all-in-one tool seems to have done the trick (perm root/recovery).
I'll report back when I try a ROM.

You guys know that it is a running joke everywhere else on the internet how unhelpful people on these forums can be.
This is a Q&A forum. I ask a Q, you might give an A. Here's how to figure it if you should respond:
If know the answer to the question and you have the time/patience to give a helpful answer, go for it. If no, move along.
Instead you've wasted everyone's time and clouded the thread by arguing about the value of the question. At 88 views, at least some people are interested in an answer.
I'm sure you know a lot about this phone and have helped many people, but I don't care if you invented sliced bread if you don't know the answer to my question or have the time to answer it.
If you need help interacting with other people in a forum when you do know the answer to the question, I've provided the template below. You might "sticky" it.

There's loads of threads of roms with hundreds, possible thousands of post on user input about how the roms run, advantages and disadvantages, no two users would like the same rom, I preferred stock lightly modified by me while gg like quick Droid and Ziggy liked speed rom, do you think I can recommend a rom to them or its a better idea for them to try them out for themselves? I'd recommend stock but he obviously doesn't like stock or he wouldn't be looking for a custom rom, then what? I tell him speed rom is nice because someone said so but I have no clue myself? Like really, grow up, this is no place for childish questions and responses, there was no need for things to get all hostile here, your best option would be to try thing's on your own, if you can't make your own decisions from your own personal liking and experience, then you sir will settle for second best because of your attitude towards it
For the record, what others think about the support on this site, really doesn't matter, this place is for development, not support. We offer help when we can because as a human trait, people do stupid things or just can't keep their cool long enough to sort out an issue. Therefore count it a privilege many take the time out of their day and work to write the multiple guides here and the devs for releasing their work.

On another note... Asking which Rom is better is a flame war waiting to happen and is offensive to the devs whose roms aren't mentioned. Crdroid is my choice, totally worth trying
This is a developers forum. Not random talk and discussion, try to argue with people that follow the rules because they don't suit you, get mad when called out on not following the rules forum. If you read it objectively, you will see its a best kernel/ROM thread. He is asking for your combo of ROM and kernel with the battery life. That is a hidden way of asking what gives the best battery life. It will not work for every person the same. Its subjective to the user. There's nothing with a census of best. Some things work better for some and others it will be terrible. Get over it.

Asking what ROM is the best might be pointless but asking which ROM people PREFER is different.
Statistic work with the amount of answers. If one person say it prefer ROM "X", it might worth nothing. But if 10000 people say they prefer ROM "X", then it doesn't matter if people use their phone differently. ROM "X" is the most prefered ROM all around.
True that the battery life will differ from individuals because not everybody use the phone the same way but one person use his phone always the same way. I flash at least 3 ROMs a week so I can objectively compare the battery life of each ROM.
You might get different battery life depending on your use, but still you can tell which one give better battery life

I really don't see the problem. The last thread about "which is the best ROM" ended with someone proposing to make a comparison chart of the ROMs, and it was agreed(by the moderator) that it was a good idea. This thread is a comparison of the battery life between ROMs.

Yes it is a great guide:good:
Since few users gave their experience,I'll talk about mine: I've tried XPower on JellyBean 4.1 and with the Galaxyh(I think that would be the name) kernel
It gave me 48h and still had 7% battery left on the phone,so it would go till maybe 60h..
It was the one that gave me more battery life in all the Rom's I've tried so far
Right now I'm on Omega Aokp v4.2 and with the Syiah kernel 1.7rc3+
Since the installation of this Rom and kernel was yesterday,I can't give some good answer about the battery life on this, because once I'm a noob I've just figured out how to turn only dual core to save some battery late night..
Sent from something better than my pc
I've seen several posts saying that the Siyah Kernel is the best, the performance and the battery life is impressive. Only I did not see much difference in battery life. Yank555 already used also in ROM AOSP and the difference was too small. I'm now using kernel Phenomenal 4.0 Extreme, that I noticed a big difference from the others: the battery life, but the performance is not so good, when scrolling within the application's configuration a bit of lag. So I would like to know the opnion of you, I want a kernel that preferably battery life, so I do not use my phone, only the basics, such as SMS, calls, data, and others.
