What are the possibilities of Galaxy S2 coming to T-Mobile US??
Seriously, its already been confirmed. Search.
I don't think it's been confirmed yet... but it looks like it will be announced on May 24th. So it will probably be available 2 weeks after that.
The wait is driving me crazy!!!

I know many of us are still frustrated about the pre-order process, getting forecast ship dates of january-february even though the orders were placed in november. Patience is a virtue, but Asus sure seems to be testing it.

Ha ha that made my day!
A little humor goes a long way in situations like this!
Now I'm going to email this link to ASUS.
You have captured this fiasco perfectly! well done!!!!
At the end you mentioned the 10 pre-orders- this might be all that are left after the cancellations- sad but true. I am borderline ready to cancel at this point myself.

Epicness. Thanks dude
Best laugh I have had in a while! Well done!
Haven't seen a Hitler vid in a good while. Good job, man. And I too have been scouring these XDA forums regarding the Prime, haha.
I must say that vid has just about made the wait worthwhile!!!! But then again I am a glutton for punishment, for I endured the Droid Bionic release nightmare!!!!

That was nicely done... and it pretty much sums up the fiasco.
Funny but misleading the part where everyone who bought an iPad or off of Ebay left the room. Zero consideration for Apple here but instead will wait for other options such as Samsung Ta (dual-core Exynos 2GHz), Lenovo Thinkpad, etc.
Haha I wasn't gonna watch as i've seen hundreds of these Hitler rant vids but i'm glad I did - really captured what's been going on! Good job

You are right non that, Apple has its own positive points- but it was mostly done for comedic effect. Wanted to include the alternatives that arrive in CES but there was a lack of dialogue to properly do that..
Great Job, You captured all our sentiments. I hope ASUS sees this. This Transformer Prime thing has been a nightmare. Thanks for the humor.
Hello everyone!

Never buying HTC ever again.

thats a stupid move....on both the jetstream (which was very expensive) and the flyer (which was very popular after the price cut)
damn it.
at least we got an answer.
never touching HTC again after this.
Also, now is the time to put some money to our ICS bounty...since it is the last hope for this device.

Not to rain on our already rainy parade, but that's not much of a hope. With Honeycomb being closed source, and everything HTC (except the kernel) being closed source, there's pretty much zero chance this device will ever see ICS.
I love my One X, but I really wish I could go back in time and get a Galaxy Tab.
I am very dissapointed. I was bought my jetstream off contract from at&t last october 910usd include taxes and unlock. Very very expensive. And no update? HTC is a shame!!! Today I got my galaxy tab 2 p3100 which has 4.0.3 factory loaded. Great speed and usage. Dual core processor and lot of memory. And cost me 350usd factory unlocked. So thats what I call money steal.

we are the biggest suckers of the android world...
But - for the right amount of money we just might be able to recruit a developer to release us from the htc choke hold.
And also, russ said he's working to get htc to cooperate with him on building a rom for us.here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1651651
There is still a tiny shred of hope.

why is honeycomb closed source? the source was released the same day ICS source was released. HTC sense for tablets i don't know about the source but for phones it is fairly open + its not like htc are done with tablets for good. when the next bunch come out im sure someone will port something over for you
wish the jetstream came to the UK but thats a long gone wish
I dont understand why HTC will not update the rom. I will be happy for honeycomb update too. Honeycomb 3.2 update and sense update will be greathful. Why want htc to kill this good tablet.

just cause a riot on their facebook page like the desire owners did with gingerbread...making htc retract their statement
there's not enough of us.
every post here gets hundreds of views but no one seems to actually respond..IDK if its because they don't own a jetstream or just won't help

Jumping ship as they say...it's a shame and there will be a ripple effect.
From a hardware perspective it is still an incredible device. It is truly a shame that HTC has pulled the plug on it and is washing it's hands of what were very likely highly committed HTC users. It was a premium device with a premium price and devoted HTC fans were confident it was a worthy purchase. Although the device did not see extensive penetration, the customers the company will lose as a result (including myself) were valuable voices in the marketplace as champions of the company among other consumers. Though small, there will be a ripple effect. People look to their tech savvy friends and family members for buying advice and I am certainly sharing my experiences openly and honestly.
I have always previously trusted HTC to keep capable devices relevant. Unfortunately, the Jetstream's honeycomb software seemed like an interim OS until HTC had time to get 4.0 up and running. HTC Sense on the Jetstream experiences frequent reboots, the pen gets laggy, the stock notes app hangs up and fails to recognize pen movement at times and the device certainly does not run like it should with this hardware....the processor could still hang with the best of them if it was properly supported.
The HTC One X was going to be my next phone. I've been a fan of the company since it's Windows Mobile days. This experience both from a device standpoint under the current software and the lack of commitment from the company to adequately support the device moving forward (which in my humble opinion includes ICS support) has me waiting for the GS III or other flagship device. Jumping ship as they say.

I know there have been emails, speculation and all of that jazz.
Here it is however, officially official for anyone/everyone to see.
I'm sure if you call a few customer service reps, you can find one or two that will reignite the speculation. It's too quite in here.
yeah that's it. Does kind of suck. my phone was one of the first to receive an ics update from htc and it is absolutely amazing even with its heavily skinned sense ui. But the downside is its built on 4.03 and before 4.04, ics is so buggy you'd think it was in beta, and battery life has gone to complete hell too, and for the htc vivid, it's probably its first and last update from htc.
Hopefully someone delivers a good ics rom for us.

Or steady full working honeycomb. This is a more definite chance
they said they aren't done supporting it but I call bs. i originally suggested new features for honeycomb but now if they just fixed the gps, made it faster and smoother, and fixed the game data downloading issues I'd be happy. Probably won't happen though. I'm just going to stay on gingerbread

Lol yeah I don't see a petition doing much good at this point. HTC has decided the cost of giving us an update is more than the cost of loosing our business so they'll just ignore a petition.
Really I don't seen how it could cost them that much though. These is a company that doesn't differentiate from hardware too much and there are several phones that either have ics or are getting it with very similar if not identical hardware. Its not like they have to develop from scratch, really just taking something like the one v rom, optimize it for a tablet, and adding drivers for the front camera is all they'd have to do. 90% of all htc device's if not more have some version of the snapdragon with an adreno gpu so getting us a working ICS update shouldn't take more than a day with the resources they have.

Its still a nice tablet.
Disappointed in HTC - would have to think long and VERY hard before buying another product from this manufacturer.
yeah it is a nice tablet still. I don't get the marketing and design though. they set it up to fail from day one by releasing it at a high price point that you could get a 10 inch honeycomb tablet for. most people just passed it up and went to the xoom sitting next to it. or just bought an ipad. HTC seems to do this alot, just throw some product out there with some innovative features, but overall make it unappealing to the market (in this case the pen, but remember the Facebook phone?). They really took a knife to a gun fight with the flyer and now they wanna pretend it never existed.

Long term, the phone and tablet market will be a 2 horse race. The SGS and Galaxy tab outsell any HTC phones/tablets and the Apple Iphone/Ipad will continue to dominate (....am I allowed to say that here ?)
Nokia are making massive losses.
RIM in steep decline.
Sony have lost their mojo.
HTC struggled last year but the One range may do them some good - if they don't alienate too many flyer/view owners
Samsung are a bit plasticky.
yeah I'm a former samsung owner, build quality could be worse but they do use too much plastic no doubt

Wouldn't mind so much if HC didn't suck so much on the flyer - performance just seems awful. Ah well think I'm just gonna stick Dexter's ICS/Sense 4 rom on my flyer and live without the pen. At least I'll have the goodness of chrome and it runs much smoother than the official HC release ever did.
I'll have to think carefully about ever buying another HTC device - if I wasn't so happy with my one X I think I'd have turned my back on them by now. Not that they'd care of course.
Well HTC sucks, but not as much as Motorola ( i have the dorid x2) who locks their bootloaders, never unlocks them, never releases the source code and drops support even for currently selling phones only 4 months old. But wait, ain't Motorola part of that funny sounding company ,,,?? starts with a G........ oh, yes, Google. Hummmmmmmm
Oh and BTW, FYI, UBETCHA, I'm reverting to FROYO, which was so less laggy, leggy, jerky, jittery, clucky, clicky, smelly, bed bug ridden ,stinky, crappy, gassy, slimy, limey, and sticky/rickety than GB, HC, ICS, JB and any future or past or other version of Andorid, IOS, WP, SENSE, BB, ET, or NBC.
And speaking of petitions, I'm gonna start a petition to have Apple and Samsung bury HTC in patient infringement litigation to the point for HTC cannot sell a single device , hhahhaahhahooohooohhhoehehehehehee LOL LMAO.
There I feel so much better now.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thank you for your email regarding your HTC Flyer.
My name is David and I am a Technical Support Agent for the HTC Written Team.
I understand that you wish to enquire if the Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) update will be made available for your tablet.

However, your experience with our phones is very important for us, and we take these comments very seriously. I Replied saying about the hundreds of sense 4 ics ports out there and all they needed to do to one of them is fix the camera and the scribe function and they would have an ICS rom!
... so did they answer your query successfully ?
Seems like the support guy is asking you to swallow the BS line "incompatible with your device". Might be worth further enquiring as to why it is incompatible ...

It looks like we could loose a good developer to a Samsung phone (plasticly! ick!) in the near future, so I suggest anyone with a real desire to see a clean senseless version of ICS on this beast of a phone consider getting on board with this effort.
http://amaze.sandvold.as/
I'm not associated with this in any way other than being a user of the Amaze. I also know Sandvold's work from the HTC Desire, and they have some pretty good stuff running on some pretty limited hardware.
(For those unfamiliar, this started playing out on page 56 of the CM9 thread)
Edit: Said defecting-to-Samsung developer that I mentioned in the first sentence has since stated that he's sticking around for awhile.

Bump.
So there's no one else?
I remember earlier this year during a time of rapid development when the internal memory quit on his Desire. After letting everyone know that he tried and failed to revive the device, he checked in once more before going to bed to say he'd figure out what next to do tomorrow. We rallied and in the morning he had more than enough money for a replacement.
It was nice to see everyone come thru with a few bucks each and post in the thread all-of-a-sudden with a rapid succession of donations, willing that development not stop.
But that was the Desire. I'm guessing the user base was larger... but more active? It seems like there's only 3 of us here - passing the ball back and fourth. <shrug>
Anyone else wanna jump in here and prove me wrong with a donation? $10? $5? 2?!!
I'm hoping that more people will to Sandvold! I want to see development kick off on this device!
It says ending July 15th, but imho, should leave it up longer. Maybe even through the end of the year; hopefully people will get it for Christmas especially since the contract price will have dropped by then.
I understand what you mean, but I'd think he'd be moved on to another device before then.
I'm not aware of who made the two other donations, but I'll get it rolling ala Feb...
- Transaction ID: 3e40f4f4c87df913

I challenge someone else to kick in any amount to keep this going.

Edit: I guess the easiest way to say it, if there are gonna be bounty or donate threads, I'd want to see the potential developer themselves say things to convince me of their awesomeness and desire to contribute.
Development does not make the device, I hope you guys know that.. outside of efforts to get things like CM9 and other true custom firmware, I'm not sure what people want. I don't think we need more developers unless they can contribute to those efforts.. or is that what this dev you want would bring to the table, and somehow I missed it?
I for one know that a GOOD developer can make plenty of contributions as long as they have a supply of willing testers, and if they could help make headway on any of the projects already going on - THEN I might be willing to throw a few dollars their way.. but I(and I think others) think that funds are too tight to share without more certain contributions..
We can't bribe a developer to come made solid contributions if they have no excitement for the device itself - unless they really WANT to contribute, if they have other projects going on, ours is always going to be a lower priority.
I hear what you're saying, and I agree. Personally I saw what was done with the Desire, and I think that my few dollars are well spent here. I'm hoping for more than Sense to pick from, and I think others feel that way too.
