Those that will get it by end of the year:
Update: HTC's US Facebook page also announced the update, and added the Rezound, Vivid, Amaze 4G and EVO Design 4G to the list of devices that should receive ICS later this year.
Not to contradict what you’re saying but. The HTC US Facebook page is saying “coming later this year “ for some devices and to “Stay tuned for more updates on Ice Cream Sandwich releases in the coming weeks”

It has nothing to do with the specs. It has to do with the number of people that will complain and whether HTC wants to keep those people happy.
There are tons more phones out there than there are tablets. Also, HTC probably lost a lot of money on the Flyer and made money on the phones.
If HTC was working on ICS for the Flyer, why would it just not say so?
I think HTC thinks they just released Honeycomb for us and that we should be happy with that.
I'm not optimistic.
ICS needs to come to the Flyer and View tablets. Cheap phones shouldn't take priority over well made tablets. Phones are just small devices u drop, misplace, break, and replace. I go through phones like crazy (not really), but I actually take care of my tablet. HTC should see that quite a few people are tuning into the Flyer and View since the firesales. Sucks that they lost money, but the upside is that HTC now has more tablets in more households. That's potential profit off of software and content- like Amazon's approach. HTC just needs to pump out some more weather widgets and make their money back. We are ready to consume and purchase some content, but we would be more apt to do so on ICS.
The Jetstream also isn't listed, and given the price tag that has been attached to it, and it's current position as HTC's premier tablet, one would really think it would definitely see ICS. Since it's not listed, that leads me to believe that the list of devices that will be upgraded in the OP's link isn't a complete device list, but rather just their phone list. So I wouldn't rule out the Flyer/View/Jetstream receiving ICS based upon that particular list.
HTC has bigger problems. They are losing market share and falling behind. They were number one for a long time , but have been passed by Samsung and Motorola and left as road kill. Sales and profit are down and fixing old devices up with new software doesn't add to sales or profit.

I like your point dude! That might just be the case! Hoping for the best!
Bear in mind too that its not just a matter of ICS, its Sense as well. They've already started on a version of Sense 4 for phones, which presumably is built upon ICS. I would guess that once you've done the ground work for one set of phones, porting it to others is the lesser job.
However creating an updated version of Sense for tablet on ICS is a whole new job. Its a lot harder to create a new version of sense that it is to port an existing one.
Hence my guess is that if ICS for Flyers is going to happen, it'll be after the phone rollouts, at least partially behind anyway.
There's no point in not giving us an ICS update. The point of ICS is to match the OS on phones & tablets. As a manufacturer, why wouldn't you update your only 2 tablets? Who cares about how many they've sold, or if they lost money. If HTC want to keep customers they'll do it. When my contract is up, I'll upgrade to another tablet, hopefully another HTC. I like them more than my laptop, plus i don't need a smartphone since I do all my data functions on my Flyer. If HTC want to keep me as a customer, at the least, they better do the right thing! For a company losing money they can't afford to lose customers

I wouldn't take the absence of the Jetstream on the list as any indicator either way of what is going to happen with the Flyer. The Jetstream is AT&T only. And as anyone on AT&T knows, they are agonizingly slow to release ROMs, and the ROMs often come long after updates arrive for other similar devices on other carriers. Even if the Jetstream gets ICS, I would fully expect it to show up long after other devices.

The full (unsubsidized) price for a flagship-spec HTC phone is almost the same as the Flyer when it was released. For instance the Vivid is $550 versus $600 for the Flyer. Rezound ($650) is actually is more than the Flyer "full price". More importantly, HTC sells vastly more phones than it does tablets. I suspect tablets make a tiny percentage of HTC's profits, and that's not going to change anytime soon. Besides, HTC phones are well-made also, not just their tablets.

Something is wrong with the pics in our post. But I happened to see the "leaked" pis of Sense 4.0 in other places. Its from the HTC Enveavor, which is a phone. Albeit one with a beefy screen size (4.7") and resolution (1280 x 720).

Does anyone know where I can find support for the HTC EVO View 4G? I am trying to find rom developments and hopefully a future update to Ice Cream Sandwich. After doing some research, I noticed that the device was not listed in their upgrade list. I also did not find any support on XDA besides people pointing me out to the HTC Flyer forum. Is this a dead device? Seems like no one supports this device.. I am willing to donate to developers if someone does a port or upgrade to ICS. For those of you who are looking for rom developments like myself, lets start a fund for developers to draw more support for this device.

seeing that there were 3 big sales recently on these, I'm hoping the development will start to pick up. I'm sure one developer snatched one. It's just a waiting game at this point. Hopefully the rumors are true and HC comes out by the end of the month or early january. HC and ICS launcher from team syndicate will have to do for now.

Can someone inform the admin or whoever is the head of the forum to edit the HTC Flyer title and include the Evo View 4G in it?
I have a feeling some people aren't finding the section itself. I'm pretty sure not every new buyer out there is gonna know the Evo View is a brother of the HTC Flyer.
That may attract more people into this section and get development or something going.

Yep, I posted yesterday in that thread asking to have the Evo View 4G included in the title with the Flyer. The OP of that thread either missed my post or ignored it.
One issue I see is that Honeycomb, when it finally drops, will have much better HTC Scribe integration -- The official Honeycomb might well end up being the best ROM, and at the very least, it might need to drop before it's worth investigating upgrading the ROM to ICS from there. The lack of development for this device kinda sucks, but that goes along with the device just not selling all that well (which is obviously a bad thing because you can get it now for like $75 more than a Kindle Fire, and it beats the pants off the Fire).
If you want a tablet to play with, pick up a TouchPad on eBay -- My View has stayed stock and I love using it, but my TouchPad makes a better tinker toy.
My tp looks great on the nightstand on its touchdstone. Unfortunately it is where it spends most of its time since I got my EV.

Unfortunately the admins always seem to have different feelings about merging or seperating forums/sub forums for similar devices. I was pushing to get the Inspire 4G and DHD forums merged a while back with no luck, and they're basically identical devices. It seems they will only make a change if A.) People are bricking their device due to confusion about what can and cant be flashed. Or B.) The forum becomes increasingly popular and needs organization (like the hd2 forum).
You would think a simple forum title could be updated upon request though..

Here is the list of the first wave of Bell smartphones which will get ICS update.
As you can see, update for Sensation is going to be released in February, and Sensation got a similar hardware as Evo 3D (Evo 3D has more RAM and 3D stuff).
So what do you think guys?
Early March
I think its bs how these updates come out. Can't wait for less fragmentation, every phone needs to be like a nexus.
I don't think fragmentation will ever be less. Android being so open and OEMS like HTC, LG, Samsung and Motorola creating new software to bloat and drastically change the way android looks/feels...coupled with individual carrier bloat...it may get worse but not better. Sad

Regardless of when, I want to see a single HTC device with Android 4.0 just so my expectations are set. Disappointment? Stocky goodness? We'll see.
I'm going to be honest, I'm starting to see less and less financial motivation for HTC to drop ICS on the 3D. If I were to throw a bet on it I think I would bet a very late release or none at all.

they have to since they signed up to be supporting the devices for 18months giving them updates during that time period at the least. Was announced at google's IO long ago.
And if Sprint Exec is right about no LTE phone till later 3rd qtr next yr, you'd think HTC would want to push ICS sooner than later to 3D's in order to keep selling them during the first half of the year next year. I am assuming that the LTE phone will in fact be an HTC device as it would only make sense to do such since they have always been the flagship device for sprint lately. Given that they would push their normal release of "super phones" from june/july like with evo's to late 3rd qtr to match the sprint exec's comments. This creates a larger gap for them to fill and one that they would likely fill by ICS on the 3D.
I would like to be optimistic, and say Feb will be the month, but HTC will release 5 new phones, all with ICS, before they upgrade the first existing phone with an ICS rom. I say mid/late March. And my prediction is the unlocked GSM version will get the update first.

Wrong prediction. Branded devices always have higher priority. Proof is any HTC phone. For example, Legend, a year ago 2.2 OTA was released for vodafone a week before it was released for not branded devices.
HTC is pretty quick about updates... it will very likely be in march/april. no later. maybe earlier.
just waiting for it to drop, i will be patiently waiting for it to be thrown up on here by a dev, rooted, zipped, ready to go.

It's funny that we consider 5-6 months "quick". Nexus S updates have started rolling out already while we have to wait halfway to the time that Google drops another version of android. I wish Sprint would get a Nexus before it was dated :-/

Ideal future = All phones have AOSP-type ROMs OOTB; Pre-loaded "launcher" from manufacturers can easily be switched to and from.
Real future = Same as right now.
Anyway, I probably won't own the Evo 3D by the time ICS is ready for it; it's a shame but the truth.

Then enjoy what ever other carrier you are switching too as I can't see any other phone Sprint is getting b/w now and when ICS will be on the 3D worth a penny. Only thing worth waiting for is the next flagship phone which will likely be the LTE phones they release in 3rd qtr next yr.
I heard about this a while back, and thought nothing of it, cause they were only available in China, but it looks like Big Red is marketing the middle class of the 3 variants as the RAZR Max.

I like the 13mpx camera, and 720p display, but I don't think it's enough for me to make a big stink about upgrading. The REAL question is: Will it be running ICS upon it's release? If so, it's good news for us!

wow if that has a 4.5" screen with a 720p resolution and is the same size as the current razr, it is going to be nuts and i am going to be mad
Since I got in on the 1c Amazon deal, I can't really be frustrated about the other options.
I'd probably prefer a nexus, but not for $300 more. Same with the Razor Maxx. Now if Amazon offers it for 1c the day after my 1 month exchange time is up... then I'll be a bit frustrated.
I figure get the most I can out of the Razr for 2 years and then whatever is around then will be amazing.

Lol! I got mine from Amazon for a penny too, and knowing how marketing and sales teams tend to work, I wouldn't be surprised if something like that happened. It's not likely, though, and I can't say I'd be all THAT frustrated, since I love this one so much! I'm not a big fan of the Nexus either, I think our RAZR is pretty superior in build quality, and the rest of it isn't enough to make me lust after it since we'll be getting ICS too...

Ah, just wait till mid jan, there will be lots of better devices on the way. Enjoy what you have now and don't fret about the future, there will always be one.
Google really should limit the number of devices allowed to be released in a set period by one manufacturer. One of the biggest complaints I've heard from friends and others I've talked to is that there are so many different Android devices and any device you get is outdated nearly immediately. Each manufacturer should be forced to come out with one flagship phone and be required to keep it for a certain time period before the next model release. This would make them think twice before rushing a new device out and actually take the time to release a proper device with all the best specs
Highly doubt that it would come launched with ICS. Figure SGS2 would get it before the max, or our razr.
we're all gonna be fuming when quad core phones start rolling out, watch.

Used to the "new phone" being old news in a month or two but if the razrmaxx was like the China variant I would be just a tad upset. Seeing as I had to convince big red to send me the razr for free to replace my months old bionic because of constant issues I doubt I could do it again with the maxx. Meh, either way i'm happy for now. And ya I probably will be fuming when quads roll out but so goes tech, new today ancient tomorrow.
Sent from my DROID RAZR
I was comparing the dates listed for the phones in the "leak" to their actually release date and there is about a 6 wk delay. So I'd guess that we see the Razr Maxx the last week in January (6 wks after 12/15/11.) That puts it about 10 weeks after the Razr, which was about 10 weeks after the Bionic.
Is Moto really on a 10 wk update cycle- that is insane.

You would still have options. There is more than one manufacturer of Android phones. All I'm saying is limit it per manufacturer. With Samsung, HTC, and Motorola that'd be a guaranteed of 3 flagship phones out at once (4 if LG would release something that actually is, well, impressive)

Awesome that you are buying a new phone for full price every 10 weeks for just a few changes? I'd rather wait 20-30 weeks, pay the price, and get a greatly upgraded device.

Awesome that you "can" buy a new phone every 10 weeks. No one is forcing you to buy one that frequently. Choices/options are a good thing. In your case, you can still buy one every 20-30 weeks and get a greatly upgraded device. In fact, even better that during that time there were 2-3 new devices released!
The only downside to so many new models is it means that the market gets flooded with android variants. This makes it harder for developers to get their software to work cleanly on all phones- which is one of the few clear advantages of iOS.

Oh well better late then don't getting it at all. If you really want ICS already then just run an custom rom with ICS.
Just pointing out, the OP is in Moscow...the email from HTC was directed at a Moscow user. Europe's rollout will be on a different schedule, and America's will be on yet a different schedule. Rollout will not be on the same date worldwide.
and i think the device list gets them first, in order
so EVO3d is like, second last ?
It's insane to me that the custom ROM community can produce multiple ICS ROMs without access to any of HTCs resources well before HTC can release a single ROM.
I can only think of 3 possibilities:
They have less than one person (per device) working full-time on the updates.
HTC employs the worst developers on the planet.
They wont let release ICS updates until they've sold new phones with ICS for a couple months.

Don't GSM users usually get ICS first? I think the Sensation and SGS2 GSM users got ICS first.
Mine and Knowledge's team will win! Take that to bank
On another note, I was hoping Slaughter's team would win

Custom roms are still not feature complete.
Think most people here have given up hope to get ICS before Jellybean drops. ICS been out over six months already, HTC suk; never again.

This is the obvious and relevant reason for me

The only reason they aren't feature complete is because of closed source HTC drivers.
Anyway, I really don't think that takes away from my argument. HTC will release ICS once they are sure it will not hurt sales of new devices. It's also the reason we wont see Sense 4.0.
It can't be time or cost effective to build ICS with Sense 3.6 and ICS with Sense 4.0. There is little in Sense that is hardware dependent. It's ICS that needs to support the hardware. It would make more sense to have one code base with slight variations for each device.

I don't know. Maybe AT&T made them do it, so they could have a flagship ICS phone like Verizon. If that's not the reason, what possible incompetence would cause it to take this long. Maybe they just don't give a ****...

maybe its not so easy upgrading all these different devices to ICS as some make it out to be?....Not to even mention the ones that have to go through carrier approval too...

If one of our devs release a buggy rom we tell them and they can fix it because we're understanding.
But if a carrier releases a buggy rom they get sued and lose customers, and also give the particular device a bad name

I ended up giving my girlfriend my Evo3D and switching back to my old Samsung Epic 4G (the slider one) - it's slower, bulkier and has less memory but damn ICS runs smooth on it and everything works. 4G, Cam, etc... I have yet to have a single issue after 2 weeks of heavy use.
Even still, I miss my Evo3D but not enough to go back to using gingerbread.
Whatever. I'll be getting the evo 4g lte soon anyway. I'll get by with mikrunny until then.

I'm still happy with Sense 3.5. I honestly don't get why many people are so desperate in having ICS.
If it's ready for our device then we will get the update, but I can not think off many things that need ICS. And if you willing to lose the 3D feature and camera then I suggest flash Virtuous S4V Beta2.
Biggest bugs are: 3D not working and camera, rest everything works. But I'm not willing to lose features just for having already ICS.

Really?? I think you are wrong. Sprint 6 months ago released the GB rom for the OPTIMUS S. That "update" borked the charging, ear piece volume and other things. Sprint had to PULL THE UPDATE and have customers DOWNGRADE their phones back to Froyo. Sprint didn't get sued considering that rom was buggy as hell. They actually JUST re-released the update starting yesterday.
Not sure if anyone is aware but Sprint no longer carries the Evo 3D. You can go to their site and look and the Evo 3D is no longer in their line-up. Some retailers still have some in stock, as of now RadioShack is offering the Evo 3D for $29.99 for new upgrade or add-a-line.
lmao! umm yeah. that's been the story for over 2-3 months now. lol. But oh well, you just now figured it out. Discontinued a long time ago. Sadly, the Evo 3D really is a great phone. But they can't just have 60 phones in their lineup. wish they could keep this one.
they need to grow a sack.
with ICS, the device should be a front runner, and HTC devs should have overclocked the GPU a tick to keep it up with other devices coming out. They could have kept selling the damn things, for the same price, it's all about how you market a product... and with hardware, as always, the performance is only as limited as the restricting software loaded to it.
truly disappointing. with ICS available, they could still be marketing these devices at 100 bucks a pop, even more, and people would still be buying them up.

None of this matters if the phone doesnt sell. It clearly didn't meet their expectations on the sales end which is why they elected NOT to put 3D on the next Evo. Doesn't matter what the hardware is, if people aren't buying it they aren't going to keep paying HTC to make them. Pretty simple business practice there.

The GS2 killed that phone. I had the 3d and figured it be just like my OG evo and i would keep it for a year. I got really bored with the phone. It was like they sold us a cool 3d phone and said have fun go find tour own 3d stuff lol. The phone didnt sell bc it wasnt that big of a difference from the original evo except the 3d and well there wasnt alot of 3d stuff available so what was the point in getting it. The GS2 how ever was thinner faster sexier and had a way better camera. The day the GS2 hit the shelves the 3d was done. I jumped ship asap

yea and they should still have nextel phones, just gotta market that push to talk feature better! *chirp chirp*
on a more serious note... glad you aren't the one making the decissions for sprint though
Marketing ICS
The general public seems to be a little uninformed about android versions. I work at best buy mobile and often used android version as a selling point (Especially when the Galaxy Nexus came out with pure ICS). However I don't emphasize software version as much now since most consumers have no earthly idea what it means. even after explaining, most customers respond with a lack of enthusiasm: "oh... that's neat..."
For myself and probably many power users, It would have made sense to release ICS earlier on the E3D so it could have a better edge on the competition, (iphone, Gs2), but the general public... Android versions don't seem to motive them as much. the early move to ICS would have translated to insignificant increases in sales to justify the release.
Atleast on Iphone instead of saying "The new 5.0/5.1" you can just say, "it's loaded with icloud." Consumers respond a lot better to that. even though I like selling androids better. especially after apple screwed up my evo LTE pre-order (was supposed to get it day after my birthday)

You know I don't have my head up Sprint's butt or my face constantly glued to XDA. So when someone makes a post that may be a little behind or in the wrong forum, coming out and try to make fun and humiliate them only pushes people away from the site. Next time show some courtesy and some decency and correct them in a respectful manner. Some people such as myself didn't know this until I went to add-a-line and saw it was no longer offered, others may see this post and find the same info and see a good sale for a great phone.

Another point is that HTC screwed up on this phone. About 70 percent of the people who've had this phone say its glitchy. I inherited this phone from my dad and when he had it, it would reboot or shut off by itself. Had it not been for it glitching out all the time my dad would'be kept it. And if a lot of people weren't hearing such things it wouldve been more popular.
