[Q] SGSII and Parrort MKi9200 handsfree kit - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Running standard 2.3.4 Gingerbread XWKI4
When phone connects to Parrot via Bluetooth and left as just this, phone works OK ... i.e. incoming & outgoing calls work OK, Bluetooth syncs and i get full contacts etc.
If I also turn on the standard Samsung SatNav .. the Satnav directions are plyed via Bluetooth & the Parrot kit to the cars built in speakers ....
However I noticed that when this Satnav is active incoming calls are not received ... and also you cannot make an outgoing call via parrot ... i.e if you select a contact from Parrot it attempts to make call, but comes up with call failed.
If I initiate call form phone .. it does make outgoing call .. but not using Parrot, i.e no handsfree.
It does remain 'connected' to Parrot.
Is there a problem with more than one connected Bluetooth device at a time ?

I use the same Parrott, but have no issues. However I'm using cm9 Which seems to perform better with my Parrott than stock roms. if you don't want custom ROM, upgrade to newer samsung version-
i noticed inprovements from 2.3.4 to 2.3.6

When I connect to Kies it tells me I am on latest version, it does not give me option to upgrade.

you should maybe try to update the headset firmware
theres a tool to download the version to a flash drive..and then just plug it to the usb in car & turn on the switch

I did upgrade when I bought SGSII
Procedure to upgrade was very easy..
I'll try some specific tests to find out failure modes.

Parrot 3200 LS Problem

Hi,
I have many problems with this car kit, but let's start with the most annoying :
kit and phone disconnect after every incoming/outgoing call.
If I receive second call when they are in this "disconnect" state, they magically reconnect and sound is routed to car kit (with some 1-2-3 second delay).
The same happens if I dial new outgoing call.
When call finishes - puff - devices disconnect.
Car kit is upgraded to latest firmware in may.
Phone has stock ROM.
I talked to parrot technical support, they keep telling me "try this/try that" - nothing helps.
Any ideas ?
You know the HTC stock roms are buggy.
i do not use a parrot carkit but use another bluetooth carkit
i have to say that custom roms are behaving better, i can also stream music on mine.
have you tried a custom roms? you can always flash back to HTC rom if it does not work
have a look around in the rom developement section
Fixed
Problem was in Bluetooth settings in Topaz.
Somehow, Audio Gateway was "off" by default, and its power saving mode was "off" as well.
I turned both to be "on", and now phone doesn't disconnect from the Parrot after the call.
Battery life seems to be the same as before.

Bluetooth handsfree and caller-id

Hi everybody.
Recently I've purchased a new HTC Hero. Everything is working fine and this gadget is by far the better mobile+PDA i've used.
OK, now the question.
I've paired the device with my bluetooth car handsfree (Toyota Prius) and although everything works fine (I can call and receive calls and both battery and coverage meter display OK) caller id is not working. So when I receive a call, instead of displaying call number or name in handsfree, it gives and error (something like "Unable to display").
Does anybody have the same problem?
This happens both with official 2.73 upgrade and modaco 2.2 (2.73 based).
Thanks in advance.

Blutetooth Problems in Cyanogenmod 9 For I9100G

HI Wizards
I must inform you for the following
I have installed the latest I9100G nightly - cm-9-20120730-NIGHTLY-i9100g.zip
2 problems are repeat themselves all releases
1. In PC - 'Device Manager' can't recognize device's Bluetooth properly - it says that drives cannot be found (a specific one)
2. In Car - I have a Bluetooth Speaker installed in my car. (Nokia CK-100, if required)
When I make an outgoing call everything works properly both sides are speaking and hearing each other
BUT
When I receive an incoming call device isn't recognize as BT connectivity and I can NOT hear or speak via car's microphone. I must use it as handset.
It is a known issue - I saw much of CM9 for I9100G users that complained this problems
Are there any suggestions to fix it??? Does someone know the source of this problems??????
Police might be caught me speaking without BT speaker and then I will get a report....
Trust'n you... tnx
When receive or dial out, my Nokia BH-102 mono bluetooth v2 works for CM9/CM10, but not Jabra Easycall v3 bluetooth. However music streaming works for Jabra mono headset.

Blueooth issue with car kit

I have the Galaxy S3 (unbranded, rootet) with the following software:
4.1.2 (stock, build JZO54K.I9300XXELL4)
Baseband: I9300XXLH1
Kernel: 3.0.31-566833
When the phone is connected via bluetooth to my car kit (audi, bns5) I have the follwoing issue:
As soon as the phone is connected to the car kit, the car kit shows an "active phone call" originated by my own phone number and I can hear myself. The voice has lot´s of echo and sound like an alien. This issue also happens when I try to call someone (phone starts dialling but on the car speakers I only hear myself). If someone calls me then everything is fine. The issue does not happen when I use my old Nokia 6230 connected via bluetooth.
Audi already upgraded the bluetooth module in my car to the latest firmware, but no improvement so far.
Can you please help me. This issue is driving me crazy because I can not use the car kit anymore.
Would it help to upgrade the radio software of the S3?
Thanks!

[Q] Blutooth issue in all 4.2.x and above ROMs

Hi, noticed with ALL AOSP / AOKP ROM's 4.2 and above that Bluetooth has an issue, bothering everyday use and still not fixed. Once you use BT car hands free and you want to to take the call back on the handset (internal or external speaker does not make any difference) the sound never comes back to the phone. Tried at least 3 different CM10 and above based ROM's, all has this problem. Anyone can get it fixed? For everyday use this is a real issue, cannot be that you cannot leave your car until you finished the call /or need to close the call and call again with BT off. Not realistic during a daily use. Thanks for any comments
i am having the same problem.

I was very happy with LiquidSmooth 2.8, so I decided to upgrade to 2.9.
Everything works very well, except for bluetooth.
Symptoms:
- A2DP streaming to my car stereo (JVC x250BT) works
- Bluetooth calls with car stereo result in either no or horrible sound
- Bluetooth calls with my (Parrot ck3100) carkit work sometimes on the first call after a reboot (usually fails)
- Bluetooth calls with a JabraBT215 headset also fail
- All the above has been tested with the device being the only registered (and therefore connected) device.
-- sometimes, I can hear the sound rapidly switching between the handset and the bluetooth device.
Occasionally, I also got no incoming sound during calls with no Bluetooth device connected.
Sometimes, connecting a wired headset would help.
I tried to highlight the point few months ago already on a development forum but I am too junior to be listen to... Even i strongly believe this is a real bug gating real everyday usage if you sometime want to use your phone as a phone..
