I will help anyone whenever possible to solve their problems concerning their bricked players. If you can't get it showing up in Odin3 after the Unbrickable Mod, then I'm sorry I can't help you. Every computer is different. Just try to follow the advice. New links are available, so sorry for those that have requested new links! One of the links also contains the bootloaders for the Galaxy Player! Yay! I've saved all the files onto my computer so if a link goes dead, let me know and I'll put it up. Also, if one of the firmwares doesn't work, also let me know and what you tried doing with it.
IF AND ONLY IF you still can't get your player to boot after following this guide, let me know in the comments section what you did in the format:
1.US or INTL
2.What you flashed, with a link to it,
3.What happened AFTER you flashed the above
4.What your device does currently, eg, download mode, CWM only, partial boot, bootloop, no logo.
5.What you tried doing to solve this problem
If you do not follow this format, I WILL NOT RESPOND.
I had my Samsung Galaxy Player hard bricked and I thought all was lost and I thought I had tried everything but I started looking around for some help and ideas on what I could do to fix this problem.
The first thing I did was follow AdamOutlers guide for getting into recovery mode, and that thread can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386669
Follow those directions and get back to this thread after you've successfully gotten it into download mode.
#Note: If you can't open the Ressurector, install Java onto your flavor of Linux. Then right-click on the resurrector, hit properties and check the Use as executable box or something similar.
*If you already have it in download mode, skip the first step!*
Okay, now that you have it in download mode, you have to get Odin3 for virtualbox. You don't need virtualbox if you can get it into download mode and if youre running Windows XP or higher. If your running Ubuntu or any other flavor of Linux, Heimdall won't work with the SGP and you're going to need virtualbox. The one I used and that worked can be found by going here: http://www.4shared.com/file/10JA2Dsu/Odin3_v183.html--You can get virtualbox for Linux by going here: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads--YOU WILL NEED YOUR OWN COPY OF WINDOWS FOR VIRTUALBOX!!
Once you have Odin3 running either in Windows or in Virtualbox, then go ahead and plug it into a USB port and a yellow box in Odin3 with a COM number should show up. If not, make sure you have the Samsung USB drivers installed in your copy of Windows in Virtualbox. You can get those here: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Samsung/SAMSUNG-USB-Driver-for-Mobile-Phones-1560.shtml-- I had a lot of trouble for my laptop to recognize that my player was plugged in and I had other people tell me the same. I think that in Virtualbox there are settings that have to do with USB devices and getting them recognized inside of Virtualbox. If not, someone let me know. So once you get it into download mode using the resurrector, flash this, IT HAS THE BOOTLOADERS NEEDED, NO MORE SCAMMBLE FOR CORRECT BOOTLOADERS!!!!!!!!!!!!--http://www.4shared.com/get/VtAB8dCU/G70JKKE3_STOK_222RU_.html Flash the one with All-Low or something of the sort.
If you can get it into download mode (Pwr+VolDown+Home) then install this with Odin3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1863004
The first link comes with bootloaders and can get your SGP back up to booting. Once you install that, which is I believe, a Russian Froyo ROM, you must install from the link at the top, which is a stock ROM for us SGP that gets your home button working and is meant for the US variant of the Galaxy Player. It also includes Entropy's Daily Driver kernel and can get you back into CWM if you have a backup available. You need to be in download mode for this too.
BEFORE you install stock though, make sure your Samsung Galaxy Player boots! After that, flash the stock ROM back with download mode using Odin3.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, feel free to write down below!!
NOTE: I need stock firmware for the 5.0 INTL version, if anyone has it please link it to me and I will post it in the OP.

YOU WILL NEED YouR OWN COPY OF WINDOWS!!
Once you have odin3 running either in windows or in virtualbox, and one of the white boxes is yellow and has a COM with a number in it, your're ready to flash the software needed! If you can't get it into download mode maually, then first install this (BIG THANKS TO METICULUS!): http://www.4shared.com/rar/IEAXBGh2/G70XXKD6-REV00-PDA-low-CL10019.html
If you can get it into download mode (Pwr+VolDown+Home) then install this with odin3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450013

BEFORE you install stock though, make sure your samsung galaxy player boots into the homescreens! After that, flash the stock rom back into download mode using odin3!
If the stock rom is giving you problems, such as random shutdowns, what you can do is flash meticulus' foreigner rom and the cutsom kernal from Entropy512 using odin3. Flash kernal first then rom.. This solved all my problems. And it looks better than the stock rom and is much faster than stock too!
If you don't like the custom rom and how it looks, you can always try to find a stock rom that works well. Or what I did was i themed my SGP with go launcher which looks really nice.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, feel free to write down below!!

Okay press Alt+T.. Then you should get a purple screen in which you can input text right? Copy these commands one at a time to get Java:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ferramroberto/java
[Press ENTER] and wait. After you see your name and it says @Ubuntu then copy/paste this:
sudo apt-get update
[Press ENTER] and wait for the @Ubuntu to show up. Then copy/paste this:
sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-fonts
Then once you see @Ubuntu again, you're done! You can close the terminal. If you want to open the file as an exe. though, right click on the file, and go to properties or permissions, something like that and click on the box that says that you allow it to run as an exe. or something like that. Hope that helped! THANKS BUTTON!!!

From what I have read and my understanding, you have to install the drivers via virtual box.

[/URL][/IMG]hey after few days of struggling with linux and virtual box to recognize my device i win and everything work perfect except from the odin.
i did what the guide say but odin not not finish its work.its stuck long time in the process (you can see it in the picture i added).
i worked by the link you gave:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386669
what should i do?
thanks for the help!
Try to get Odin3 1.83, that's what I used. Oh I see your problem! Make shure you check the "Phone Bootloader Update" box and uncheck the re-partition box. So do this: 1. Get Odine 1.83. 2. Uncheck re-partition. 3. Check phone bootloader update box! Btw I love how you have those files in a folder called brick xD I did the same thing. Organize and prioritize.
sorry that i stuck every second but after i did what this guide says:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386669
i got into download mode mode it doesnt stop!when i turn off the device its turn on and get into download mode again and i even not turn it on.
well i said fine and continue.
the next step i did is:If you can get it into download mode (Pwr+VolDown+Home) then install this with odin3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1450013
i downloaded and install and odin show that he reset the device but it still in download mode it doesnt exit from it no matter what i do (vol.up+home+power, only power, power+home).
what should i do?im so close to finish it!
and did you do mistake here?"If you can get it into download mode (Pwr+VolDown+Home) then install this with odin3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1450013

you put the same link.
and when im on download mode can i download anothers roms?not the stock rom that you gave in this post?i want to download meticulus' foreigner rom can i do it from my situation right now?
btw thanks i never organize but my device is important to me so im now little orgnize with this thing.
Ohh right, my bad, thanks for pointing that out! And once your in download mode, flash this: http://www.4shared.com/rar/IEAXBGh2/G70XXKD6-REV00-PDA-low-CL10019.html
Then once you're done with that, if you want Meticulus' Foreigner, you can flash that after you flash the first rom. Good luck! Let me know how it goes.
Actually, Meticulus deleted the file from 4Shared so try to just flash his rom from where your at. Flash kernal first. Then rom.
Really sorry to you and Meticulus, but I'm re-uploading the file to mediafire.com and its gonna take about an hour so just wait up.

If you want stock and are able to get in to recovery and want a flashable rom. click here
This started as a thread asking for help, with the little help I got... and a little searching NOW this thread is to help other people who are having the same problem
ALSO its to show that a little searching on this forum, you will pry find the answers you are looking for.
EVERYTHING in here I found in the Bible, that is located in the development section.
This guide is for non hardware locked vibrants... if you are hardware locked check out this threadhere
First off you will need to get odin and the correct files.
I have packaged eugenes 2.2 pit and tar(md5) files in a zip along with odin. these are all the files you will need and you can download them here
(remember this is for unofficial 2.2 if you want Official 2.1 files click here )
s15274n (thread here) has everything you will need in his [Tips & Tricks] thread AND MORE!
so make sure to check that out and read the "EASY WAY TO GET THE JI6 UPDATE" before you go any further with my thread.
Georgegreco86(thread here) made this awesome image (below) and it works perfectly....
HOWEVER some times there are some complications that happen that i cover below.
TO GET IN TO DOWNLOAD MODE
I have found the EASIEST WAY to do this is:
1.pull the battery out of the phone.
2.plug usb into computer
3.put the battery back in the phone
4.hold in the volume up and down
5.plug usb in to phone
it should bring you to the download mode in seconds.
now you should unplug the usb From the phone..
make sure the battery stays in, and open odin.
now follow the instructions below.
1. Open Odin3_v1.0
2. Load .512 into the PIT placeholder
(In this case s1_odin_20100512)
3. Load *FILE.tar* into PDA placeholder
(In this case Eugene_2E_JK2_Froyo.tar.md5)
4. Make sure COM port has a number in it
This means your phone is connected, if your phone is not connected make sure you have the correct drivers)
5. Press Start!
6. If you it all works your done... if not keep reading!

IF YOU RUN IN TO PROBLEMS!
If your phone is not connecting to odin.It might be because you need the correct drivers, thanks to TGA_Gunnman they are located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929.
I was able to just let the computer search for them and with a few clicks, had the drivers installed.
To install the Android USB driver on Windows Vista for the first time:
1. Connect your Android-powered device to your computer's USB port. Windows will detect the device and launch the Found New Hardware wizard.
2. Select "Locate and install driver software."
3. Click "Next." Vista may prompt you to confirm the privilege elevation required for driver installation. Confirm it.
Freezing on "cache.rfs"
searching on google i found a website called fractionalphones.com, the post was about this and it said what i had to do was reboot my computer and hit F8 (just keep touching it) and when it gets to the "safemode screen" arrow down to "Disable Digital Signature Verification"
Also a problem Some people had was the usb port used...
So if it does not work try a new port!

It wont let me remove the lag fix, v2 says i dont have the lag fix installed
and v1 says "you only have 346MB free on RFS, but 364MB used on EXT2. You must free up some space"
and then it tells me i dont have enough to install either v1 or v2 of the lag fix
BUT my quadrant is 2000+ so i know its installed.
i saw the other tread about this but it didnt really tell me much.

LOL, One of the reasons I suggested Odin. It'll "just work" even if you have the lagfix (at least it did for me). Make sure you backup everything on the SD card that you want & tell it to repartition. If all goes well, everything down to the internal SD card has been put back to stock.
I know when I did the lagfix, I had a PC app that just ran ADB commands in a batch file (basically). After a week or so it got unbearably slow and even the remove lag fix that came with it wouldn't work, so I used Odin to go back to stock.
--------
But, I think what it's complaining about is you need to free up ~20MB of space in order to remove the lag fix. Since it needs to move the files that it put on the ext2 partition back to the RFS partition, it needs at least that much space before it can move the files & then delete the ext2 partition.
bumping because I figured out what I was doing and I think this can help a lot of other people.
I'm trying to do the "Odin back to stock" process but I'm having a little trouble. I've got all the files and opened Odin etc. I entered the .pit file and the .tar file. Auto-reboot and f. reset time are checked. I click start and I get "<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)"

Odin isn't recognizing your phone. You should double check that the drivers are properly installed. Then, make sure Odin is on and click Reset if need be. Put phone into Download Mode and then plug it into computer.. A yellow box should appear at top of Odin, which let's you know you're successfully connected.
Hope that helps!

Introduction
Hey guys.. I came up with a partial recovery method for black screen bricks. It's not a full recovery yet as the device won't get past booting the kernel. However, this is a matter of obtaining the proper firmware... So, until a better firmware is obtained the next best thing is to at least get the device into Download Mode.
Generally Hard bricks occur when the improper firmware is flashed on a device. When the wrong bootloaders are loaded, the device attempts to boot and fails. Instead of hanging, sometimes the device will enter a "Lucky Brick" state. These lucky bricks are very common on Galaxy Player.
The Galaxy Player tends to failover into a safe mode which we call UnBrickable Mod. This safe mode can only effectively be used in Linux because of a lack of decent windows drivers and a lack of any real development for Mac outside of Apple Corp .
Heimdall has not yet been upgraded to handle the Galaxy Player so a virtual machine is required for this procedure.
You Will Need:
Linux installed on a computer: http://ubuntu.com/download

This is where this guide ends. I have tried several firmwares but none have been effective at recovering the Galaxy Player...
Conclusion
Your device is now in Download Mode.. If anyone can help in locating a /data/ partition(Not dbdata), I could sterilizeit of your information and it would be helpful. If anyone can post up an EFS partition, I could remove the information from that and force it into a default...
Basically, I need a full dd dump of every single partition on the device in order to finish this resurrection DIY.
Hi AdamOutler:
You can find that here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19840746&postcount=420
That's a full dump of /dev/block/mmcblk0

and how do you upload that through download mode?
That's my question, lol.
On wednesday I can upload the dd dumps of every partition so they can be flashable via odin.
I've 'dd'ed that image to a sdcard. Checked partition table and it seems ok. So the only think needed is to dump the right partitions. Right now, I'm busy with exams, so I can't before.

The problem is that we need a partition information table which is proper for each device. I started that thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389873

Introduction
Generally Hard bricks occur when the improper firmware is flashed on a device. When the wrong bootloaders are loaded, the device attempts to boot and fails. Instead of hanging, sometimes the device will enter a "Lucky Brick" state. These lucky bricks are very common on Galaxy Player.

Ok so I have an issue that is between the hard brick and the lucky brick I think.
My Galaxy is stuck in Android Stock Recovery (My soft keys are not working) and I have attempted to get the Resurrector to work on my device, but it seems like it won't see my player correctly for me to bring it back.
If you know any kind of fix for this I would really appreciate it, my Wife is ready to kill me...
Adam, I have Ubuntu and the virtual machine setup and working. I just cannot get Ubuntu to allow me to open the resurector file as an executable, any idea why and how I can fix that issue, it tries to open it as a archived compressed file. I have the black screen and badly need to revive my Player.
Update: After searching on google I finally got Ubuntu to execute the resurrector file and I revived my player and have Froyo 2.2.2 running on it now, but the capacitive buttons do not work. I will dowload the soft button app to fix the buttons till someone finds a solution for the dead buttons which was caused on my player by the Korean 2.3.6 firmware leak that I flashed yesterday and caused all my problems. After searching some more I found the files I needed to get my capacitive buttons working again on the samfirmware.com web site, so now I have restored my player to the original working state.
Adam, you are a life saver, Thank You very much for the excellent recovery guide!!!!
Everyone on the forum, have a Happy New Year!!!!!!

I'm still unable to fully unbrick my device (YPGB70) even with all the proper files, it still just hangs at the logo, I can get into download mode just fine though. The only files missing from Samsungs official rom they released are efs.rfs, userfs_16G.rfs, inand_16G.bin these are the only file listed on the pit but aren't in the rom file. Are the userfs and inand crucial file and if so can I use files from the international or US models and do they have to be the same 16G size?

What I did once I got it to the download mode using Adam's guide, then I downloaded the 2.2.2 froyo rom for the player found at www.samfirmware.com and flashed it using odin that got the player working but the capacitive key would still not work, so then I put the player back into download mode and downloaded and flashed the rom from Maticulus found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450013 using odin again and this got the player working like new again including the capacitive keys.
Good Luck!!!

Pictures of the problem that I am having when trying to unbrick
boot into ubuntu. don't use a VM. Mac is a hit-and-miss platform for Samsung devices.
I tried to flash latest rom from Asus website to my new Zenfone C because it had a weird issue, it came the user interface in taiwanesse, but when trying to change to english, it stayed in taiwanesse, so I wasnt able to setup it in first place.
Then, it came to my mind to flash the latest rom, and I used this guide in absence of a Zenfone C guide for flashing:
http://en.zenfoneasus.com/zenfone-recovering-returning-stock-rom-downgrade-clean-update-guide/
I did all the steps listed there first, and then tried the steps but with the red marked steps, flashing the dnx and ifwi also, no result.
The problem is that now im stuck in a bootloop, and cant advance from there, the Asus logo stays there forever.
What happened during flashing is this:
When I sideloaded the update.zip containing latest rom from Asus website, it said:
-Installing update
-Device image SKU: ww
OTA image SKU: WW
and suddenly after that it restarted, showed a huge Intel Inside logo that I never saw and then went to the dead android image. After waiting a while, the phone restarts, this time only showing the Asus logo with the Intel Inside logo beneath it (not the Intel Inside logo only that I mentioned earlier), and stays there forever.
I dont know what else to do, I dont know if Im doing something wrong.
Were you ever able to fix the problem?
No, until now, no

The Fix!
First Download: -
USB Drivers: http://www.asus.com/in/Phones/ZenFone_C_ZC451CG/HelpDesk_Download/

Signed Rom zip image: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B__oiYlSY-brdHFWMy1OWXNrajg/view
The Process: -
Get your phone to boot into fastboot mode by pressing [vol -] button and power button simultaneously for few seconds.
Connect to your PC and install USB drivers if not done already. The phone should show up as an "ASUS Android Composite ADB Interface" in the Device Manager.
Now, open ASUS Flash Tool :-

It should detect your phone with serial number and blue orb in front of it.
Select your phone model i.e. ZC451CG
Choose if you want to wipe data or not. I chose "Wipe Data" since I had everything backedup on asus web storage.
Click that box icon and browse for the signed zip image file you downloaded earlier.
Select your device on the ASUS flash Tool by clicking on the serial number like shown in the picture below.
( It had me scratch my head after one failed attempt because I didn't select it the first time! :silly
Click on the green start button, be patient, stay calm and cross your fingers. This could take 10-20minutes or so.:fingers-crossed:
If everything went well your phone should bootup to the welcome screen like the day 1 you got it.
Now, the zip image is quite old so after the initial setup the phone would prompt you with lots of system and app updates. Go with it and enjoy! :victory:
Lastly, don't be shy of pressing that " :good:Thanks! " button if this post helped you.
Thanks man, I will try tonight. Do you know if this works under Windows 8.1 64bits??. I see the screenshots are from windows 7.

Hopefully it should, I did it on a Windows 7 Professional 64 bit machine.
The USB drivers you download has Windows 8 drivers in it. I think that's all that is needed.
Yeah, I will try it then, and report back, thanks again.

IT WORKEEEED!!!! I dont know how to thank you man!. Thank you so much, I was going to give up on this device!. Its working really well.
The only thing I came into trouble, was to install the USB drivers included in the Asus Flash Tool. I did the following (on Windows 8.1 64bits):
I disabled driver signature check first on windows.
I went to the USB drivers folder inside the ASUS Flash tool folder on Program Files.
I went here C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ASUS Flash Tool\Driver\USBDriverInstaller\devcon\x64
On that folder, there is a program called devcon.exe, right click on it, and select properties.
On compatibility tab select Run as Administrator, click ok.
After this, reinstall USB drivers by going to C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ASUS Flash Tool\Driver\USBDriverInstaller and here execute install_drivers.bat
Thats it, the phone now should be recognized by the Asus Flash Tool.

Those raw files are extremely difficult to find so if you pretend to have any of those phones i recommend to download. It works easily if you have fastboot. If you only have adb i did not saw working but i am trying.
---------- Post added at 07:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:31 AM ----------
If you try to do that under adb they give a serial number mistake.
4 days trying to solve this bootloop using adb. At least one person here saved his phone with the raw links i found using google webcache in this vietnamese link so it was worth it. Looks like i will need to lose 40 days sending to Asus in Sao Paulo. What a hell folks, those asus firmwares are really crap. Set a great hardware for set poor software.

But Things get worst when it failed to backupbang now my phone get stuck to Asus logo.I tried to follow the method that your all give in this thread but I can go to fastbootode with it must press power button+col down button.
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM
Sorry for my bad English

Hello everyone,
I will share my experience with you, and I hope for a solution!
A few days ago I rooted my Lenovo tab 2 A10-30 successfully using Kingroot. Then, I tried to change Kinguser with SuperSU, which I also successfully did. However, I noticed that although the main root app was SuperSU, Kingroot was still on my phone, so I deleted it using a bloatware removal app and restarted the tablet. Now it won't turn on. It gets stuck at the Lenovo loading screen, and that's about it. When I press the power button + volume down button, it gets me to a Chinese menu that is not the recovery mode (there is no MMC, just options about voloume, colors, mic test etc). If I press the volume up+ volume down + power button, it just brightens the screen and shows nothing.
I tried flashing the stock ROM using the Smart Phone Flash Tool, but the PC does not recognize fully the tablet (it just prompts me to install the Lenovo USB drivers, and I cannot access the tablet's internal storage). Moreover, the Lenovo windows applications do not recognize the tablet when I connect it to the PC.
I really do hope that there is a way I can fix it.. Thank you all in advance.
Hi,
I did almost exactly the same... Kingroot, tried to remove bloatware with another app, and ended up with a bricked tablet I can still access the bootloader, but flashing the tablet from there is to no avail.
I am still looking for the original ROM, which seems nowhere to be found. Did you, by any chance, make a backup first?
Another one here But I'am able to go into recovery and into adb sideload, from there I can view internal memory(/system). And it looks like system is trying to load supersu-daemon which was removed and it can't get past that. I tried to recover paths (to original ones), but it still wont go past loading screen. (it is just restarting the app_process32).
Now if we only could get the hold on original factory firmware... from there one we can sideload it via fastboot.
And for the drivers you need andorid usb drivers https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb.html#top
TLDR; we are looking for TB2-X30F_USR_S000015_1601151950_Q8009_ROW_qpst.zip
So, I have spent about 5 hours attempting to find a way to dump the firmware without first rooting the device, so that I could share it with you guys (and have a backup for myself in case I attempt to root it myself.) Unfortunately it seems like it needs to be rooted before I can create a nandroid backup through adb. Unfortunately the tablet is not based on mtk, and I cannot find any qualcomm utils that can dump the firmware.
The one Qualcomm util I found (QFIL) seems like it is only for flashing, and for backing up some individual data for the tablet (I assume it may contain such as license keys for the commercial features in the recent phones such as Sony Xperia Z3). I also looked into fastboot, and that too can only flash a new firmware.
So, unless the tablet gets rooted I don't see any way to make a proper backup.
I am unable to post links in messages, so you need to do some manual editing.

Since I have no use for a firmware right now, I will not be buying access to one (unless I at some point manage to brick mine as well). But if anyone decides to do so, please share it so others can enjoy it as well. I also suspect that if the file was available, it would increase the probability of someone attempting to make a custom rom at some point as well, it is a very cheap tablet when on sale, so it should have good potential for a community.
PS: I also stumbled over something called vRoot, that might be an alternative to Kingroot, although I have no idea whether it is as good at rooting and not installing unwanted extra apps. I guess someone who has used it on a tablet/phone that has a backup available might be able to shed some light on that.

This is the QFIL (Qualcomm Flash something system) mode, however I do now know whether that helps anything at all. Since it seems to me it probably wont accept the TB2-X30F_USR_S000015_1601151950_Q8009_ROW_qpst.zip file mentioned in the thread. It seems to expect some xml file, maybe the zip file contains that?
Hi guys i have been strugling with this unit The last 3 days. I have eksakt same problem. I found these files: lenovo-forums.ru/files/category/106-прошивки-lenovo-tab-2-a10-30/
I extracted Them but dont know how to flash Them ?? Hope u guys Can help (sorry for bad english)
To Download files from Lenovo-forums.ru i logged in with my Google account
[PUT ROM TEMPORARILY HERE: https://www.wetransfer.com/download...024ee2974a44f8aa50e3dcd120160615184237/a84735 ]
Wow, suddenly action! With the help of Dead2 and Andersbp I have made some progress. Here are my steps:
I purchased the ROM from the Iranian site, and downloaded the other from the Russian forum. So now I have 2 ROMs:
65M TB2-X30F_S000015_160115_ROW_TO_TB2-X30F_S000016_160602_ROW_WCA72E4AB5.zip (Russian)
1.1G TB2-X30F_USR_S000015_1601151950_Q8009_ROW_qpst.zip (Iranian)
The smaller one is simply an update, which you could install easily:
1) boot into Recovery Mode
2) select "Apply Update from ADB"
3) run: adb sideload TB2-X30F_S000015_160115_ROW_TO_TB2-X30F_S000016_160602_ROW_WCA72E4AB5.zip
Which works... UNLESS YOU ROOTED THE DEVICE. Then it fails, and does not want to update. Thanks Lenovo
So, the larger one is a different type of ROM. This one will not load with adb sideload (gives footprint and signature error). But it DOES contain all the files to flash with QFIL (Qualcomm Flash something system).
Here I'm stuck. I followed this guide:
http://guidebelajar.blogspot.nl/2016/03/guide-how-to-flash-firmware-lenovo-vibe-p1.html
and tried to install these packages:
1) You must download and install USB Driver for Lenovo on your windows computer or PC.
2) QPST-2.7.422-qfil-qcom-Upgrade-Tool-20140422
3) Download Qualcomm HSUSB USB COM Drivers
(Note that you need to register and log in to needrom.com FIRST. Then click the link, but it will give an access error. Remove all in the URL after needrom.com (so go back to the main site), then go back to the download link, and it will work - the file is there.)
1) and 2) install pretty fine, but 3) is just a zip with a lot of drivers, no installer. I have no clue on how to install the proper driver...
Furthermore, the site suggests to install something on the device itself:
5) Create a folder with the name sdfuse in the root of the SD-card phone
6) Put the qsb-firmware (file with the extension .qsb) in the folder sdfuse.
Here I have 2 problems: First, my device does not boot, so I cannot create/copy files. Seconly: I cannot find qsb-firmware.qsb anywhere...
@ Dead2: How did you go through these steps?

Ok, I used a LenovoUsbDriver_v1.0.12.exe driver installer, and that includes the HSUSB drivers needed, and I can confirm that windows recognizes the tablet as being in HSUSB mode with those. Whether QFIL does I have not tested.
I got the driver package from here: www DOT teamandroiders DOT com/lenovo-usb-drivers-download/

After you get past installing the HSUSB driver, you are officially the one that has gotten furthest on this.
I will assist in any way I can, but I will not attempt flashing my own tablet until I actually need to

I tried that one too, but to no avail When I try to execute the executable, it ask for administrator permission, and after that vanishes...
I am running Windows 8, 64 bit. You?
Other question: when is your tablet recognised by Windows? Also in Recovery Mode?
Thanks!

No, I have spent too many hours translating Farsi today, was quite happy to find this one easily accessible on the Russian site

Press the Volume Up button and keep holding it while connecting it to the computer/laptop using USB cable.
Lenovo Vibe P1 will vibrate one time, and you will see black screen.
You need to hold in VOLUME UP AND VOLUME DOWN AND POWER button at same time. Until you see

Yep, its at the bottom of my first post also, found that out by accident while trying to get into the normal recovery.
Now, hopefully someone will want to port TWRP and CM13 or Paranoid to this tablet
Doh i did not see that Dead2
Thanks everybody together we defeated the problem !
SUPER! Succes here as well! The trick was indeed to hold both vol UP and DOWN
Now: brand-new unrooted device
Thanks
Btw: I noticed that the rom from Andersbp is a TB2-X30L rather than the TB2-X30F. I used my F file (paid for it, dammit ), and that one also works well.
I am currently checking if I can modify the stock ROM to enable root / mult-user. Any hints?
Nice zwartoog !
I Can root with kingroot.. Are there better alternatives ? Kingroot is Full of bloatware

Noo, no Kingroot. That's where all the disasters began. It is full of bloatware. Trying to uninstall Kingroot lead to bricking the device
Personally I am only interested in re-enabling the multi-user feature from lollipop. WHICH IS FOR SOME REASON DISABLED BY LENOVO Even when rooted and modifying the system/build.prop did not re-enable it.
I'm giving up now. At least I have a workable device. Restored pride. And more important: 3 happy kids
I think the TB2-X30L is the LTE version of the tablet, while the TB2-X30F is the wifi-only version. If correct, then there should be no problem
when using the LTE on a non-LTE model, but the other way around could potentially cause LTE to not work. The LTE firmware might have some
extra apps and settings enabled to cater to this ability, but it might also be completely identical. Btw, what does the model information say
after being flashed with the L firmware? In any case it is useful to know that they are cross-compatible, since sometimes there can be differences
in chipsets or screens that can cause minor or major problems.
As I mentioned earlier, another root alternative to kingroot seems to be vRoot, but I have not tried it myself. But now that it is possible to
recover a bricked tablet, it is also less risky to test such things.
BTW: Please remember to use the "Thanks!" button on posts you find helpful, I have tried to do so myself on the posts that I find helpful
I've already tried many apps, such as kingoroot, kingroot, one click root, framaroot, etc. i really need help. Thx in advance

Same issue here as well, nothing I try works on this phone, it's driving me insane.
EDIT: It's android 6, so you can't root the phone without a custom recovery.
WELP. So I just spent the past 2 days wasting my time on this god awful phone. I can't even access fastboot on this piece of crap, it comes up for 2 seconds and then disappears and no amount of "properly" installing usb drivers for it has helped. I even tried disabling driver signing and installing the drivers through adding legacy hardware. Nothing worked at all. So I thought I'd just install a custom recovery with sp flash tool. So I downloaded a stock rom for the vfd300 (my phone) from here: https://androidmtk.com/download-vodafone-stock-rom-models and ported TWRP using an ASUS Zenfone GO's TWRP.img.
Custom Recovery works fine, the phone does not. It is now stuck in a bootloop. Tried formatting everything (from TWRP) doesn't work. Tried flashing the rom again (even with the stock recovery) still stuck at bootloop, tried about 3 other vfd300 stock roms that people have uploaded to http://forum.gsmhosting.com and none of them have worked either. Currently downloading yet ANOTHER one and tbh I don't have high hopes. (EDIT: It didn't work)
Any help at this point would be appreciated.
Holy crispy crap it started............................. So I managed to find a working rom from (what appeared to be) some Vietnamese file hosting website .
You follow the instructions below at your own risk. No one is responsible for any damage done to your device but you.
I officially have root working on this device.
Now that I've done it, it's a surprisingly simple procedure. As I stated in the edit in my reply above, the VFD300 has Android 6 on it, which requires (afaik) a systemless root to be installed from recovery.
I ported the custom recovery from this thread (since the Z00VD has the same chip as the VFD) which you can download here.
Download the latest version of Chainfires beta SuperSU installer from this thread and transfer it to either your phones internal storage or SD card.
Also download a copy of SP Flash tool (if your fastboot works, use that instead). Finally, you will need this scatter file.
Unplug your phone from the computer and shut it down. Open SP Flash tool and click the download tab at the top.

}
Click "choose" next to the Scatter-loading file box and select the path to the scatter file you downloaded. IMPORTANT Make sure all boxes below except recovery are unchecked and select Download Only in the drop-down box. Double click on recovery in the Location column and point it to the custom recovery image you downloaded.
Click the Download button at the top and then plug your phone back in. The bottom bar will turn red, then purple, then yellow and once it is fully done flashing you will get a pop-up box with a green tick as confirmation.
Unplug your phone and reboot into recovery (Power+Vol-Up). In the custom recovery, select install, go to the directory you transferred Chainfires beta SuperSU.zip to, install it and reboot. TWRP will ask you if you want it to install root, DO NOT LET IT INSTALL ROOT. Your phone may loop a few times and can take up to 10 minutes to boot the first time, but it will be successfully rooted.
If you need a copy of the stock rom, download this one. If you want to flash this rom, make sure you use the scatter file in the roms archive and select firmware upgrade from the Download Only box on SP Flash Tool.
EDIT: I'm so sorry I borked the hyperlink order. Instead of linking to the scatter file I linked to the entire rom and vice versa with the stock rom link

Sounds like a boot loop. You need to download the stock rom (it should be about 700mb or so and in rar format). Once you've downloaded the stock rom, extract the archive to a folder somewhere (you will need something like 7zip or Winrar). Open SP Flash tool, load the scatter file from the extracted folder and make sure you select every box. There should be a check mark in each box. Change SP Flash tools dropdown box to firmware upgrade (by default it is on Download Only) and then flash it similar to how you did with the recovery (make sure you change the recovery to the custom one from above).
If my instructions aren't clear enough, I can do it again to my phone and take pictures of the entire process to make it easier to follow.

Yeah man! I've done that as well but had no luck .
1. I've enabled USB Debugging Mode and I've shut my phone down (NOTE: It has not been connected to the computer)
2. I opened the SP Flash tool and I clicked the download tab at the top
3. I then choose next to the scatter-file thing and have relocated it to the scatter file that I've downloaded from your link
4. ALL boxes are unchecked except recovery with download-only in the drop-down box
5. I've done the recovery image and everything and then...
6. I plug my phone in (Yes, it's completely shut down from step 1) with the USB cable and nothing shows up (Colored bars, tick etc.)
7. When I unplug it, an error comes up and then I'm completely stuck with no idea of what to do next

I was stuck in bootloop, but we don't share the same reason. I think there is something wrong with the rom above.
I found another rom, flash it, and problem solved, pretty simple. Now, I have a rooted vfd 300, even better than the stock rom, but you need to delete some app you don't like before you enjoy it.
you can find this rom by searching MT6580_S00_EMMC_MRA58K__6.0_VFD-300_Vodafone.zip

Hi all. I will be attempting to root my Vodafone VFD-300 tomorrow, after reading through the entire thread there seems to have been many issues with getting it done successfully. I also saw that it was suggested to provide step by step screenshots of the entire process. If anyone who managed to do the whole rooting with no problems could please do so again and provide us with the step by step screenshots,it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
