[HELP REQ] 4.0.3 back to 2.3.5 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I wanted to test 4.0.3 so I installed the I9100XXLPB version but now I want to convert it back to 2.3.5. Can someone help me. Here is some information from the 2.3.5 build I was running before the update.
The information:
PDA: I9100BOKJ2
PHONE: I9100BOKJ1
CSC: I9100TNLKJ2
Build Info: Thu Oct 6 08:34:03 KST 2011
I know how to flash via Odin, I just don't know what version I need to download so I can convert it back. I was looking on SamFirmware.com, Please help me. Thanks.

Why don't you just use the latest XWLA4 that's running 2.3.6? Since you will clean install 2.3.5, it should be better to install the latest version available.

Dude, This is a development forum, not a newbie help desk. Your topic has absolutely no place in this section and if you had bothered to look for a couple of seconds at the section you would see that its blindingly obvious.
Please try and use some common sense and post threads in correct forums. If its a general topic put it in general, if its a question put it in Q&A. Never post topic in dev forum unless its a rom, kernel, reference or other type of development. "help me flash me moby plz" type of threads do not belong here.
With regards to your question, Go read the sticky threads.

There are plenty of threads with how to guides, all the info you will need is in the first few posts.

[Q] Please help with restoring Stock Kernel & Firmware

Hi all,
Long time reader, first time poster over in these parts, and am hoping that someone would be able to point me in the right direction to a solution to an issue I'm having....
I'm trying to get my S2 back to factory fresh condition (ie, stock ROM/Kernel etc.)
Now, the problem is, I've found all the necessary bits (ROM/Kernel) in the following thread......
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
However, I can't seem to download them. The multiupload links just take me to a download manager ad. :-/
I fully admit I may be missing something colossally stupid, so please, no name-calling
I did find the Kernel I need on another site, which I can't remember, but not the rom I need
Would someone please be able to tell me if I am indeed being a complete moron and missing something with the downloads?
Thanks
TheMightySpud
Why not just flash an official rom from www.sammobile.com via Odin..?
Sent from the Matrix
I did look at sammobile, but I can't seem to find a 'samsung' rom on there, just the carrier versions.
Also, don't I need to put a stock Kernel on there? As the one I've got isn't stock.
TheMightySpud
Yes you are one.
You say you want back to factory which is stock ROM and kernel.
Then you say you don't want to change kernel because the one you've got isn't stock.
"noob ok...lazy noob not ok"
Huh???
No, I do want to do both Rom and Kernel because neither is stock. Which is why I said there was no Kernel on the sammobile site, and asked the question about the Kernel.
So y'know, not lazy.
So, any answers to my actual question? How to actually download the files in the big thread? That's all I asked.

Multi upload went tits up 18 months ago courtesy of FBI.
There are plenty of unbranded stock packages on Sam mobile
If you want help then help yourself for starters by including the details about your phone etc.

There are unbranded Samsung roms on www.sammobile.com. Just flash with Odin. Your rom and kernel (the custom ones you have right now) will be replaced.

New I9100- Question please

Hi Everybody,
Just a quick question please.
I’ve just received a new UNLOCKED Samsung s2. I’ve checked the phone and it has the following info:
- Android ver.: 4.0.4
- I9100 XXLQ6
- Kernel: 3.0.15-I9100 XWLPT- CL941023
- Build Nr. IMM76D.XWLPT
I would like to update it to the latest JB (4.1.2 ?).
What is the best way to do it? Should I do it by using odin? And which file / ROM is the best for my Phone?
The point is that I don’t want to lose the “unlock” .
Many thanks in advance.
Madona33
well try first through Kies
if not, go on http://www.sammobile.com/ and check for a rom for your country/region
Many thanks wishmas7er for your reply,
Just to make sure please, I've just checked the CSC and it's I9100XEULPA.
Can I update it by using odion with one of the following Roms:?
Android Version: 4.1.2 – Build JZO54K
PDA: I9100XWLSD
CSC: I9100OXXLS6
MODEM: I9100XXLS8
Changelist: 889555
Build Date: 31 January 2013
Android Version: 4.1.2 – Build JZO54K
PDA: I9100XWLS8
CSC: I9100FOPLS3
MODEM: I9100XXLS8
Changelist: 816988
Build Date: 14 January 2013
Or it has to be a particular rom for my phone (I don't want to lose the "UNLOCK")
Many thanks
the unlock isn't a problem since you are probably going to root it after that and use the simunlock app if needed
since you have stated it's a new phone (probably is under warranty) so if you want to keep it like that do a Kies update (if you have one)
or go for an Odin flash (for which you can also keep your warranty but you will need other tools like ubs jig etc...)
---------- Post added at 04:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:59 PM ----------
for which is better, i can't really tell
depends on user experience, some people find one rom more stable than others
search for threads like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2157430&highlight=lsd
but i think the LSD (31 jan) is a good choice...
Thanks wishmas7er,
I am not worried about the warranty, as it's going to be sent to my sister abroad / in Gaza strip / Palestine (as a gift ).
I was looking for a rom which supports "arabic, english languages" and I've been told that the 2 roms in my previews post are ok for that.
Or do you suggest another one (has to be JB).
I mean, could I use one of both Roms I've mentioned before (CSC: I9100OXXLS6,MODEM: I9100XXLS8,Build Date: 31 January 2013 OR CSC: I9100FOPLS3,MODEM: I9100XXLS8,Build Date: 14 January 2013).
I am asking this because of the difference in CSC from my phone which is I9100XEULPA.
I would like to send it tomorrow to my sister.
Many thanks
You can use the latest updated rom .. build number - XWLSN it is very good and gives best battery life in 4.1.2 so far. ...

[Q] Custom Firmware Install

Hi, Im new here.. so hello to everyone...
Ok I have an unbranded open S2 GT-i9100. Firstly I wanted to know what phone i have from the baseband version and build. see below.
Baseband: I9100XXLQ6
Build: IMM76D.XWLPT
Secondly i want to put Biftor v8 on there. Fed up waiting for samsung to realease on kies.
How do i go about it? do i need a kernal to match my build and do i have to root before installing Biftor or can it all be done at once?
Any details would be great. thanks.
Root it, wipe it and flash it. If you want to know how: feel free to search and read on xda Guides aren't there to ignore you know.
Thanks I appreciate the fast reply. However my question wasnt really answered. I am happy to root, wipe and flash it but my main consern is what kernel i need to root it. Do i need a kernel that matches my current version.
If so is my version XXLQ6 or XWLPT
Thanks...
If ur gonna flash a CF kernel to root, look up the kernel version in ur About Phone page. The baseband version is not relevant here.

Hi again, so I did some searches. Apoologies for not being thorough first time round. And i discovered how to root. and i also discovered im in a prime position to hard brick. insane chip and 4.0.4.
so i think i need to change my kernel to siyah kernel or similar. Will i then be safe to install biftor etc? if so do i wipe cache etc when i install biftor. Will moving to siyah kernel remove risk of hard brick when restoring / wiping.
thanks
Siyah v5 or Mobile Odin for stock ROMs.

Yes, flash a custom kernel first, that matches your android version (4.0.4 -> Siyah v5 for example).
Then you'll be safe to flash custom firmware. Follow the instructions on the first page of Biftor's thread, then you'll know all you need to know

and then install custom rom and recovery over again?
would it be worth it or make any sense because im wondering since everything is still running off this leaked version in the background that seems to not be really uptodate / have lower revisions.
does the pa even have any impact when a custom rom is running?
