I have a rooted artrix and the other night i updated via OTA and now the phone wont boot. how can i fix this? any help would be nice
Yeah, that sounds about right. Can you get into rsd mode or anything??? Btw, please post this in Q&A. You will more than likely get flamed for posting in the wrong section.

i tired booting into recovery and iot says starting fastboot protcol support
There are lots of tutorials on here on how to unbrick your phone (depending on hard brick or soft brick)

If you get an error message on your screen during regular boot, use the search tool in that forum to search for what it says. That should help narrow it down.
BTW: When booting into recovery, make sure you Hold Vol + down until it says "fastboot" on the screen, then press Vol + down until the words say "Android Recovery" and then press Vol + Up.

Hey all.
I got a problem. I opened Rom Manager and did the partition SD card thinking it was going to partition my external SD card.......well, I think it did the internal. Now when I boot I get to the GalaxyS screen and then the screen just goes black. Have to remove battery to reboot. I have tried ODIN to restore a factory image but it does the same thing. Anyone have an idea. How can I just format the internal memory to factory and restore to factory. Thanks!!!

Hey man... You're gonna get flamed for this, it's one of the things "everybody" knows not to do with RomManager, but since I did the same mistake back in time I'll help
First off: can you get into download mode? (turn your phone completly off, plug it into your pc with usb, wait for the "charging" screen, then press both volum keys + the powerbutton to restart, release the powerbutton immediately after restart and keep holding the two volumekeys till you enter download mode)
then flash this.
Then flash back to stock, or any other ROM that includes kernel...

I am having the same problem, what I did was pull the battery, wait a moment, then while holding down the volume down button turn on the phone. Be quick because once the fastboot notification comes up let off the volume button then using the volume down button scroll through till you see Android Recovry that is where I found Clockworkmod Recovery. I am now in the process of trying to reinstall jockersax's .3. beta. This is the first time I have run into this problem I will post more information. As I am not allowed to post to the developers forum can someone pass this info on as several folks have had the same problem. Thanks
Why would you flash anything besides stock roms with rsd anyways. I feel its just an unnecessary risk to brick your phone. Fast boot and cwm seem to be preferred

I recently sold my og note to a friend. it was rooted running black star. He has asked me to try and fix it for him because it will not boot up. when he gave it to me it was stuck at the download mode warning screen ("volume up : Continue ; volume down : Cancel (restart phone)") . I was able to get it into recovery . I tried to flash a few different roms i had on the phone when i gave it to him. I was able to flash a rom and get a successful message but then it would not start it would just go back to the warning screen. I then tried to use odin to flash stock rom but it wont go past the warning screen. pressing up or down doesnt do anything. the only thing it will do from there is boot into recovery mode. Does it sound like its bricked or should i try something else? anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the volume down button is stuck. When you reboot if you hold volume down with power it takes you to that screen. Pull the battery and see if you can free the button.

Or friend deleted OS files and it can't boot. Worst case is you connect to a pc and Odin or Kies flash a new system.

I just got the SGH i757m and i tried rooting with using superoneclick v2.3.3 but it always goes to not responding! So I'm trying another method from

however, my phone won't go into download mode, when i press power and volume down button, it just vibrates in a 1 second interval, and it just keeps vibrating... i tried holding on to it for a full minute and all it did was vibrate... i tried pulling battery out and retry, same thing! (or power+ volume up). When i let go, it just turns my phone on, thats it. Does anyone know how to fix this?

i tried googling before i posted this i had no luck finding anything relevant to the phone being able to boot and the download mode not working, and i tried to look for the galaxy s2 i757m section and i couldn't find one .... i wouldn't randomly post something without research

I looked into this for you, you're doing everything correct holding volume - and power, should boot download mode, try holding lower on the volume rocker or try booting download mode having it already connected to you computer via USB....... If it won't work the only thing I can think or would be you have a different version of Android then what the original instructions were for. The thread you linked is your best bet on getting help, the last post was on March 28th so it's still active!!! If you don't get a response in that thread try to message titanic_fanatic it looks like he's helping people in that thread. Just make sure you understand everything before doing ANYTHING......... EDIT: Try this first, power off your phone, then hold power and vol- once you feel the vibrate let go of power keep holding vol- to see if it boots download mode? If not try to plug it in to your computer then repeat those steps. If you need help you can message me.

No problem, just be VERY CAREFUL when you flash any firmware (ROM), recovery or kernel to your phone. If you flash anything else other then the exact packages made for your phone you could end up bricking it....... With out a forum for your device it could be hard to get help if you need it. You can message me if you have questions, I'll do my best to help you. If you post questions in this forum all you'll get is "Wrong forum, don't you know how to read, noob, blah blah blah etc" just ignore them, just make sure you read and understand everything before doing ANYTHING....... Hi guys! I've been having problems with my Mega. My phone works really fine. I just got it the other day. But whenever I try to go to download mode or recovery I only get a blank screen but I know that it goes to download or recovery because my phone could detect it. I've been reading some forums that I have to reflash the bootloader of my phone so I could fix that error. Does anyone here confirm this and could anyone provide me a flashabble copy of the bootloader? Thanks!

Power off the phone, hold down VolUp + VolDown + Power for 4 to 5 seconds. Then release ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Now press Volume Up. The reason that you have to press Volume Up is that a warning screen is actually displayed before the phone lets you into download mode.
The phone will give you no other indication that its in download mode and won't 'recognise Odin' when not in download mode. Make sure you have Samsung USB drivers (comes with Samsung Kies) installed on your PC.
Oh yeah and by the way the thread I've linked to suggests you have to reflash the bootloader to fix the 'blank screen' problem.
