ok,I didn't want to start a thread for this but I already asked here:

But no one seems to know.Am I going to wait 3 months or what ?
You didn't get an answer because nobody knows. Ask Samsung
Samsung says no plans of ICS for I9100G.
But samsung also says i9100 and i9100g is the same.
Try to put ICS for i9100 on the i9100g.
Or try to put cm 9 on i9100g.

If you do either of these, you will end up with a paperweight. Different chipsets means firmwares are incompatible between the I9100 and the I9100G.

I'd take anything this guy says with a huge grain of salt. He also suggests people try flashing ICS for an I9100 to an I9100G, or flashing CM9 to an I9100G. (Which, PLEASE NO ONE DO - unless you hate your phone)
It was a silly move from samsung to get a new model of the S2 anyways, thats just..useless.

Its not that Samsung is silly but the way they are handling the matter makes the customers who choose 'G' look like silly.

My white Galaxy S II got into a boot loop and the bootloop fix thread where I flash a stock ROM isn't working. Is there different firmware for the the white Galaxy S II I don't know about? Please help this is urgent.

Do you actually have an I9100?
Yes a white one. Another question to why I might be doing this wrong. Do I have to flash the matching kernel? and if I need to do that which section do I load that in on odin.

Sorry, but oinkylicious' question is a VERY valid one. Given you are on AT&T, it begs the question: are you SURE you have a GT-I9100?
There are many different models of the Galaxy SII.
The GT-I9100 is the international version (I have one), which happens to work on AT&T's network, but you would have had to buy it internationally, imported it, or bought it through a re-seller.
AT&T sells two different AT&T branded models of Galaxy SII. The HSPA+ version of the Galaxy SII (SGH-I777), and the LTE version of the Galaxy SII (SGH-I727), which is also called the Galaxy SII: Skyrocket.
They are ALL different, and flashing a ROM meant for one of them onto another will usually result in a very expensive paperweight. So if you flashed a ROM from the link you posted above (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278), you very may well have to exchange it or take it to service.
If you take the battery out, what does it say for the model on the sticker underneath?

Then no; white, black, shouldn't make a difference. (as long as it's not a i9100G)
You shouldn't have to flash a kernel on top of the firmware - the firmware will include a kernel. The only reason you would have to flash a kernel on top of the firmware is if you want root, or a custom kernel.
You didn't tick "repartition" or try to include a .pit file, did you?
No I didn't do that

How about you break down exactly the steps you are following? Otherwise it's a guessing game on what went wrong.
Alright so I tried to install a Chinese ROM from this link
http://forum.mobileshelp.com/qualco...guage-samsung-galaxy-ii-i9100-guide-here.html
Then I got stuck in a boot loop
Now I've tried flashing some of the stock roms in that thread and I'm still stuck in a boot loop
I open I up Odin and I load up the ROM into the PDA slot and then I click start

By "that thread", do you mean Intratech's thread with all the official firmwares? (This one? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278) Which one are you choosing?
I've tried the XEU one and a Frankenstein one
If this helps it says something like can't access into [a directory that has system in it] once it enters the screen with the little android once it goes out of download mode
edit2: The problem has been solved. I had to go into recovery and do a wipe.
Big thanks to everyone who helped me out in this thread.

No.
Very unlikely to be any more custom roms made for the I9100G to go with the one (maybe two) already in existence.
Won't happen.

There are at least 4 custom roms actually.
Considering that Samsung stopped sending I9100 to some countries, I don't see why there wouldn't be a few more roms.
There are less and less shops in France where you can get I9100. You'll find I9100G almost everywhere, and I guess it's starting to be the same in other European countries.
Gee. There's 4. Compared to how many for the I9100/T ?
50 bucks says there isn't 8 in 6 mths (and 'cooked' pretend roms which are simply someone else's rom repackaged with 'cosmetic' changes/different themes don't count).
Bottom line is the I9100G is a 'nobbled'/technically inferior phone in a bunch of ways. That's why there's a small selection of non-stock firmware available for it.
As they say in the classics:- "You can put as much lipstick on it as you want, but it's still a pig..."

Just for my info, do these phones require completely different ROM or a SGS2 firmware with correct 9100g kernels will do the job?

You have an I9100G. If you flash roms/kernels for the I9100 on your phone you run the risk of soft bricking it at best or hard bricking it (return to Samsung for a repair you pay for) at worst.
Make absolutely sure any rom or kernel you flash on your phone is specifically for the I9100G. I cannot stress this enough.

I have a canadian galaxy s2, and I am just wondering, first which of the 3 versions I have, because when I click on our phone to just show our accessories, q&a, and stuff, there is 3 for android development. I'm trying to figure out which one I am because I bought my phone used off kijiji. Also once we figure that out, I want to go back to complete stock, and then update to the latest revolution remix. or what ever it is called.
I don't mind chatting through private messages?

that is for 9100G, if his device is 9100G he can use it.
Samsung just doesn't give a f*ck of releasing source code, so we have to wait until they get it working for our device... - you can't use the i9100G version, because it has a different hardware, so you would soft- or hardbrick your device by flashing the i9100G version
Little proof of i9100G thread that I'm not talking about things I don't know about
301stSpartan said:
No, this is a ROM for the i9100G (which is why it's in the i9100G section ). This has been asked before, so if you read the thread you would know that.
If you flash this on any other model you will brick your phone. It will be a while probably before the 9100 gets this thanks to the different processor and lack of source code from Samsung.
