How do I change rom after root? - Motorola Droid RAZR

I've rooted my phone, and looked for a guide on how to change rom and I didnt find one.
Can anyone link me a guide on how to change rom on RAZR?
Thanks in advance.

You need to install bootstrap recovery and then install CWM on boot package. After you've done that you can download a custom rom and install it via recovery. I wrote an article about this on my blog, here is the link
http://aashrey99razr.wordpress.com/roms/how-to-flash/

You can also use safe strap.

I don't know. But the OP didn't specify so that's why I mentioned it.

Could someone please post a Nandroid of the CDMA ICS leak?

As above. Would like to have a tinker to see if it'll boot with the GSM ICS leak kernel and some lib swaps/build.prop edits. Not expecting any joy, but worth a shot, right?
TIA.

So, could I just restore from this on verizon cdma razr and have ICS, rooted, without following any of the more complicated methods for already rooted phones?

Not promising anything but there's only one way to find out.

No, you couldn't because CWM can't flash the radio, bootloader, or kernel updates that the leak runs on.

TRUTH!!!

Damn, can't even get it to flash, CWM spits the dummy on the MD5. Tried using the same boostrap that's included in the data tar, tried recreating the MD5s, tried putting the files in all sorts of folder names, no joy. Kinda wish CWM still used .IMG so I could try fastbooting them, heh.

SafeStrap

I have a rooted razr, with safestrap installed. Is there a way to use cwm recovery instead? I see that you can install cwm using bootstrap, but everyone seems to like safestrap better. well from what i have read. Any input would be great.
Thanks

Safestrap and bootstrap are cwm scripts.
Bootstrap is for motorola Razr abd Safestrap for Droid Razr and Maxx from verizon..

Safestrap.
look at the back of ur phone. if it says XT912 (it's CDMA) use SafeStrap.
if it says XT910 (it's GSM) use BootStrap.

He's just saying that safestrap is safer.

Why would one be more safer then the other? I installed CWT (ClockworkMod Touch) before hearing about Safestrap, should I install safestrap and forget CWT? I much prefer CWT to anything else I've ever used... But I will stick with whatever is recommended
Safestrap
I have used both Bootstrap and Safestrap. I prefer Bootstrap, because it doesn't show up at the beginning of a boot up. If you want to get into the recovery, then you go to the app and select too. Right now i am using Safestrap v2.

Main differences I saw: New lte radio, new kernel (newer than 214), and it adds Chrome.

Notice improvements in lte signal?
This is a leak, I presume? If so - can't install without root access, correct?
No root required. Put it on Sd card and install from stock recovery.
Only for US..? I am on EU build, XT910 GSM version...
Where to DL .215

Yes stock recovery, must get rid of any custom recovery you have. Wipe is not required though recommended as its solved some bugs for some people. Yes install update from SD card

Cache is fine. Updates just like ota.
SHVR MAXX
I had a crap load of freezes and hangups until I wiped data/cache. Works awesome now though.
New 4g radio is sucking for me. I literally cannot get a 4g signal in an area where I would get 4-5 bars
Edit: wiped cache and dalvik. Let there be 4g!

[Recovery] Razr ClockWorkMod Touch 5.8.4.5 Black Edition [Updated] [07/23/2012]
But this recovery probably works only wit MIUI rom, that's the only one completely usefull rom for RAZR.

You can install CWM but 98% of the ROMs for the Razr are all Safestrap based. You would basically be putting yourself on an island with a few dudes and little food

How to install a rom?

First off, I'm no android noob. I'm just not used to the process of installing roms on a Motorola phone. I am currently running the jellybean ota and I am rooted. I want to install this rom here: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/6188-romjb-fat-free-bean-beta/ and it talks about activating a rom slot. Can anyone guide me through getting everything setup and ready to run this rom?
