Wifi not connected no data - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

My Android Tablet or phone are having problem connecting to a hidden network.
Set up the hidden network,i see my tablet or are connect to the hidden network but i got no DATA.
My friend IOS(Ipad or Iphone) connect to the same hidden network and everything works fine,my windows laptop work fine too.
Is it a problem with Android or I'm doing something wrong.
Any help?

I don't know about Prime connecting to a hidden network, but if you're disabling your router's SSID broadcast in hopes that it'd be hidden, don't. Any scanner will be able to pick up your router signal, SSID or no. And if anybody wants to get on your wifi, they'd be using a scanner. All you're doing is inconveniencing yourself, like this particular instance.

Try this,
HiddenSSID Enabler

Odd, my hidden SSID network at work is fine. Picks it up no problem. By chance do you have a browser redirect on the network?

Just to make sure, you are adding the network manually while not connected to any networks, using appropriate security correct?

I have the same problem with the wireless at my school. It must have something to do with multiple access points that overlap. It will always connect but can't pull any data. Sometimes after you wait for a while it will start working. Very strange.
Windows laptop always works fine.

Could this something in Android OS?

It could be an issue with android that has been overlooked due to the small amount of people who probably connect to a hidden network with an android device.

Lost WiFi at home

I have recently lost my signal from my WiFi at home but my phone still picks up the WiFi signals from the neighbors. I exchanged my first 3d for a new one but I still have the same problem. My ipod still picks up and uses the WiFi signal and was wondering if anybody knew why this maybe happening.
Thanks,

Try resetting your router. Or try updating the firmware of the router. Also try forgetting the network in wifi settings and then try logging back in. Or do a factory wipe.
Locked & Loaded
just turn wifi on and off, no biggie, works pretty well.
Check out WiFi Fixer in the app market. Solved all of my problems.
Whoa, before you do all that other stuff.
So your ipod works with your router? And your phone connects to your neighbor's router? If so then most likely your router isn't a problem, nor is your phone.
Android's wifi stack does a really good job of automagically connecting to the best available wifi spot. Do you see your wifi router in the Wifi settings? If so, long press and connect to it. If you have authentication set, then it will prompt you for a password.
Let's start with that then go with more, if needed, and will probably need more information that you provide.
My phone doesn't even see my WiFi connection, it can see all the other connections only... I've traded my phone in not only for this problem but other problems and this problem still looms. I'm thinking its in my settings that were transferred from my other phone? I don't know, help please...

Man its might be your router. Have ya even tried just resetting the router back to factory defaults??? Its a tiny pin size hole on the back of your router "or at least it.should be" Henceforth, find a needle or safety pin and press the that button for like 10 or 15 seconds and wailt 2 to 4 min. After that go to your wifi settings on your phone and click on your network name and chose forget. Now look for your new network name and which should be an open and unsecured network. It should have the manufacturing abbreviation in the network name so if its say a belkin it might be -belkin123 unsecured- also it should be open because when you reset the router it erases all of the security. Also routers firmware should always be upgrade. Not saying this will solve your issue but it might and its a really quick way to rule out if its your router.
Locked & Loaded
Some of the "perm-temp" root scripts caused this, if you used some of the older ones, you may be experiencing this.
The solution to it was to "forget" all your wifi connections on the phone, power it off/battery pull, then reconnect.
Of course, if this doesn't fit your scenario, disregard.

9.4.2.21 Ad hoc doesn't seem to work

Hello,
I've been trying to use tethering of my 3G phone to get WiFi on my Prime. I am using an app from the market that creates an Adhoc network to do the tethering. The app is working fine as I verified by connecting my Laptop to my phone's 3G and got it working.
The Transformer Prime detects the Ad Hoc network but just doesn't want to connect to it!
Any suggestions?
Works fine for me (prime tethered to 4G HTC Rezound) .. It's probably just your app. Try using wifi-tether.
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/
Yup, not working for me either. It sees it and let's me select the wifitether network but it just says "saved". It won't let me connect to it. I'll keep trying

I get that sometimes too...but a long hold on the wifi line has options to connect/forget/modify.....at different times, I've had to use each of them....but I'm always eventually been able to get tethered to my Win6.5 TouchPro 2.
The app I use is WMWiFiRouter.....it works great....but it's not a free app

You don't need that fix....That's one thing that 21 did....was to incorporate that fix into the update.
i think i may have your answer. i couldn't tether my prime to my htc evo 4g either. then i enabled routing fix under wifi tether settings and now I'm able to tether prime no problems at all. hope that works btw I'm using wifi tether 3.1 beta 6

tried a bunch of times...
i tried to connect a transformer prime to a mac book pro as access point with no success.
i got a "saved" message instead of "connected"... hit "connect" doesn't do the trick either.
tried using a nexus s as access point using easy wifi tether, and i've been able to connect my prime with no problem.
no security in both case. if ad hoc connection doesn't work please specify what access point you try to connect to. it might help to solve the problem.
ad hoc works with joikuspot premium on nokia n97 mini
In joikuspot premium settings you just have to choose for WEP Open. That way the tf201 will accept it when you put in the network key you get.

[Q] Wifi Network Disabled

I am staying in a hotel abroad and have purchased some logon details for the hotel's wireless internet for my stay. However, whilst I can connect with my laptop, my S3 lists the network as 'disabled'. Wifi is on, and not set to sleep or anything like that. When I click on the network, it (very) briefly says 'saved' and then returns to 'disabled'. I have not even had the chance to enter my logon credentials, so that cannot be the problem. I have also tried to 'forget' the network and re-connect, but there is still no option to enter my credentials and connect on my S3.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Try changing your phone's mac address to your laptop's mac address.
Most services use this to authenticate devices.

Sorry to bump this, but does anyone have any idea or solutions to solve this 'wifi network disabled' problem? It works on my PC, but not on my S3.
Thanks

If that doesn't work you could ask them for a new code and see if that will work with your phone. Or ask to see their network support staff (if the network is managed in-house).

[Q] Hidden SSID cannot connect

Hello everyone.
At my work they set the wireless with two channels. One is open to everybody with an email verification and allowed users to connect for 2 hours a day and the other is a hidden SSID that the workers can use all the time. In my iphone I have no issues. I add the network manually and it connects. But on my Sony xperia Z1 when I go to wifi and add the hidden SSID it just said not in range while the other network is in range. So far I tried the Hidden SSID enabler app with no luck. Any suggestions? My device has kitkat 4.4.2 and is rooted.
Thanks in advance

Yes, hidden networks are tough to get working with android. My experience with this is that when the hidden network won't connect and then not even recognize it's either that the psk/psk method don't match OR the network is Wireless-N only, which many newer android phones still can't connect to, while the iPhone can. -.- (the *only* thing apple is doing right I guess)

Apple has a flaw too however.
When a network requires you to log into a browser page with a password and username, the Iphone automatically opens the browser page to have you log into the new network.
This opens up drive by attacks to Iphone users connecting to open networks which can then Jailbreak the older firmwares.
I believe this is true, but don't rely on me. I don't even own an Iphone. lol
Another thing I didn't mentioned is that I cannot access routers settings. Also a friend of mine with a galaxy s4 can connect on hidden network. Anyone has the same problem?
Can you specify what router you have? Model #?
Thanks

Thank you for the response...Its a belkin but the company who set up the network can only access to the routers settings. I'm not sure about the model but the thing is that I can connect with other devices and not with my Z1. It can find the non hidden network which works for a couple of hours and when I manually add the hidden network it says not in range. a friend of mine with his samsung galaxy s4 connected earlier and what I noticed was that when he was entering the hidden networks details it had the options cancel and connect. When I was doing the same the options was cancel and save. So he could connect and I just had the hidden network saying just out of range. That's all. I don't know if it works on earlier android versions like that but I cannot connect on the hidden network.

Huh. I looked up your phone and it's compatible with all the 802.11 specifications, Wireless-N included. Personally I've had bad experiences with Belkin routers, I trashed mine cause the usb sharing wouldn't work . I say try creating another hidden network with your own router, just to test whether it's an issue with your phone or with your router.

Rooting and hotspot

Just curious if by rooting a t mobile v10, if we can bypass the hotspot throttling when we pass 7 gigs? Right now after seven gigs it gets throttled to 128kbs. I want to bypass that.

Yea. Unfortunately there isn't a way around it anymore. I'm sure someone will find a way but as of right now there isn't anything you can do.
Hope. There are some of the brightest people on android. So, I have hope. Now apple, well, nothing more to say. Roflmao.

WiFi Tether Router worked for me with the LG G4 settings. When I tether now, my "tether" usage stays put and the mobile data goes up instead. There wasn't a way to copy the APN, though, so I had to make a new one from scratch (with the settings from the WiFi Tether Router help page).
Is the only way to change to ipv4 is by creating a new VPN setting? When I press and/or long hold on ipv6, nothing happens. If it matters, I am rooted.

My data slow leaks to hotspot..maybe 60mb for 2 gb...however if I stream slingbox or the nba app the data goes right from the hotspot...hopefully someone figures that out because I use slingbox all the time on the weekend's.
With this app, I had this issue on my n6 and this device. And with the language barrier, I can't seem to explain my problem to the creator of this program. Basically, it works fine, then all a sudden in the middle of streaming to my tablet, it just stops. And on the tablet, the wifi tether no longer shows up under available wifi. But in the phone, it says wifi tether is active. I refresh on the tablet but wifi tether no longer shows up.

Hey if it's any help my iPhone shows a ac Network connection not a normal wifi connection and the iPhone (jailbroken using tether me app) shows no hotspot use but my v10 does and shows a normal wifi network can't upload a screenshot from my I Pad but I can email if u pm me a email address. Also on my old note 3 it useto burn up all my hotspot data but then continue to work after that so I would be fine with that as well lol however I don't think that will be a option anymore as now the tethering is "unlimited " 128k after 7gb also I always had to have my laptop open with chromebot on for some reason it seamed to work as a work around even thou I wouldn't even be tethering just to the laptop (very weird to me) just thought I would throw out my thoughts for u developers. Who know what u r doing as I have a idea but wouldn't say I know all that much about this
