[Q] Problem with market - Legend Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have had problems with my android market after I have flashed a new rom yesterday (ExtremeLegendFuseâ„¢2). Whatever app I try to install or update, it just gives me an error message saying '[app name] could not be downloaded due to an error. I tried to switch back to Extreme Legend Fuse 1 but still no good. I have tried all those sorts of method on other forums such as clear data and cache of market as well as trying to sign in Google talk. I am able to sign in Google talk and talk to people but I am still unable to download apps.
Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Many thanks.

Hmmmmm, I have yet to flash one of the legendary roms till fuse 3 is released. But I'm assuming that you have not flashed the right gapps zip. Go to 1st page of the legendary rom page and dl the gapps from there. If you still have no luck you should alert the Dev on his help thread on the "general" section

I had that yesterday on a KANG build. It seems that many CM7 devices occasionally have this problem.
I wiped phone cache via CWM and everything worked great.

Where in the process are you getting these errors? There are multiple steps to installing ICS that this could occur. What ROM are you running right now? If stock, is it 2.1 or 2.2? Do you have CWR installed? Is it installed with Update.zip or through ROM Manager? Did you flash CM7 before ICS?
Simply putting that you got this error is not enough information for us to diagnose and help.
Edit::: also please don't spam the other posts with "Good" or "Great to hear that" to get your post count up like was done in Themes and Apps section. There are many threads to that you can post in to get the count up legitimately.

That is the problem. Go to my guide in the General or in my sign and follow it.
it rooted? you have the right CWM rec on it? im not a pro but i know that might be it
You must install CyanogenMod 7 before install a ICS rom.
it's the best form if you dont wanna have problem with the bootloader and bricked your phone!!

After installing it, did you let it settle for 20 minutes before using the phone?
If you did, try flashing again, or download the rom again.

I happen to me the first time I load the Passion 13. So I delete the passion zip file from where I will load it (download folder in my case), then redownload the passion 13 zip file and copy it to the download folder. It works for me.

this is what i did, when helping my friend boot it up,
you have to make sure your rooted
then install ClockWorkMod recovery onto the phone,
then install CM7 after it boots back to recovery
then wipe data and cache
then install ics passion wait for it to boot all the way back to recovery for the last time
install the clean up patch and the phone will work perfect
i had the same problem, thats what i had to do make sure it worked perfect

what if you didn't let let it settle for 20 minutes? I didn't most of thing seems alright, except that the dial keys seem to be sticky if I hold it a hair too long, like when you try to do quick dial, the key will stay selected and you can't dial other numbers until it unstick.
I'm using Passion 13, not sure if I have kiss 2.2.
A question for everyone: can't Passion 13 or ICS for Vibrant in general let you assign phone number for quick dial? You have to use direct dial widget?

Usually a boot into recovery, fix permission and wipe cache and dalvik cache will clear this up. But sometimes it is just a bad download too.

It is always a good idea to let the phone go through a "settling" period after you flash it. There are RAM tweaks to finish, media scanning and a host of other things that need to be completed as you just installed a completely new operating system on your phone. Especially don't log into Market or Titanium and start restoring as this can cause problems long term. What is 20 mins compared to problems and hassles for the next few days/weeks.
If you don't know if you have Kiss 2.2 on your phone, then you don't have it b/c you have to flash it. See HERE

WIFI Issues After Flashing ICS

Hi Guys
Yesterday I flashed the Hydro ICS and had no issues at all, hungry to explore other ROM's I flashed about 5 today, then all of a sudden I was faced with 2 issues that no matter what I cant solve
The first is that my WIFI Doesnt work, it says its connected and issues an IP to the phone but the Wifi bars are grey with a flashing X through them
In my router I get the following Error
" DHCP FAILED - Requested Info not supported.;CM-MAC=a0:21:b7:30:03:2c;CMTS-MAC=00:30:b8:cf:db:40;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; "
I also have a yellow warning triangle on boot too
I have reflashed, wiped, etc etc with many roms since to try and fix but I have gotten nowhere,
EDIT:
Just to add, other mobiles "Including a SGS2 on ICS" are connected wirelessly and I have rebooted and reset my router.
PLEASE can someone get me out of this hole im in ?
Many Thanks
Gaz

Bumping your thread after only just over an hour isn't going to endear yourself to anyone...
Try a different kernel. I believe WiFi drivers are in the kernel.
I believe your best bet is to do a battery pull, leave it out for a minute, then put it back in and power up.
If that doesn't work, you may need to install another baseband/modem. Lots of them you can install through CWM.

I know you mean well, but baseband/modem have nothing to do with wifi.
power cycly router
1: see if you can browse on computer
2: hardway but best way............
wipe everything including system partition, flash stock ROM using odin.
test if it works go root and do what you do best

i agree with the 2nd way, also you should try flashing a different kernel as mentioned above.
i used to have this error before when i was on litening rom for GB... although it was easily fixed by just doing a full wipe and never occured again...

[Q] Play store not working on CM9

Hi,
I'v been having trouble with play store/market since I rooted my phone.
I tried CM7 before and it did not work there ether. It did not exist from the beginning. Now I use CM9 and have installed it with apk but it crashes on start up. I see "Loading..." in less then one sec before it crashes. Have anyone experienced this before or can someone tell me which exact version of market/play store works (maybe link me to where I can download it).
Thankful for any help and CM9 rocks.
you have to flash it in recovery
wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Latest_Version/Google_Apps
What's really strange is when I flashed zeubeas beta0 I had the play store already installed before installing any gapps. I have never had any issues with the play store.
Try rebooting into clockwork mod recovery, flashing gapps again don't reboot, then delete dalvik cache, I think its the the advanced menu. Now reboot wait till phone boots, you should not get boot loops with this method as this is how I've always flashed all the zeubeas alpha and beta roms with no issue, also very important, check the zip files to make sure they are compleat and error free.
sent from my legend, currently using zeubea ics beta0
I got it to work! Thanks a lot!

i think this is because new versions of the play store that are updated in the background go onto the /data partition which isn't affected by flashing a rom update...
How did you solve it?
thanks
This page is blank. What needed to be flashed in recovery.

I am having the same problem that the OP is having.
So I really need to flash with ODIN? If so, what? a new kernel? ROM?
I think you need to install gapps for your rom.

AOKP JB Build 7

Ok. I've decided to try to give the rom located below a whirl.
According to the install instructions it says not to wipe but to use the aroma installer to chose wiping options.
However, when I flashed the rom within CWM 5.5.0.4 it installed saying updated was installed. I didn't see any sort of "installer" prompting me to wipe anything.
So I guess I'm just confused as to what was supposed to happen. I also flashed the fix from thebill for the dual usb mount and now I no longer have a status bar and I constantly get "system ui has stopped" and "usb has stopped.
Any help would be appreciated.

Regarding knowing if I downloaded the Aroma version...No, actually I'm not sure. To be honest I was quite confused by the "download" page. I've downloaded/flashed many roms but I was not clear on what was supposed to be downloaded and flashed this time. There were links left and right.
I went to the "All Builds will be Located HERE" section of the OP then went to jokersax development page and selected the AOKP Build 7 under Th3Bill section. If that's not the correct version then please let me know where I'm to find the correct one.
I installed that one because when clicking the Aroma Installer link on the OP I was not sure about what exactly I was looking at since I've never used it and it's my understanding that it's built into the rom. Also, after I flashed the rom sans Aroma Installer, I no longer have the sd card viewable when connected via usb to pc so I flashed the usb fix and my notification bar disappeared with no way of accessing it, along with a "system ui" error and a "usb" error that decided to pop up nonstop. Would that be due to the aroma installer not running at all during installation? I flashed the rom again and the errors went away and my notifcation bar came back. Sorry for the ?'s but the unaccessible sd card has become a real pain in the arse.
I appreciate the responses guys.

For some reason I thought 7 was the ICS build but its the JB. There is no aroma for JB yet he just hasn't updated the op yet since he just changed the ICS aokp thread to the JB one. He updated to build 8 so download that one and the USB fix should be built in already.
If you continue to have problems don't hesitate to post on the aokp thread though I don't mind helping here lol

Thanks. Yeah I'm still a noob poster and apparently cannot post within the development threads.
Ok. So I had actually noticed the Build 8 and downloaded and flashed it. But I soon had more problems. Random reboots and gapps not working properly. I didn't wipe anything before doing so. Maybe that was the problem. Luckily I'd made and nandroid backup and am back on Build 7 with just the sd card still being a problem. I'd like to get the usb fix to work. Working with Build 7, how would you proceed? Just flashing the usb fix gives me the errors I posted previously.

[Q] after update to JB play store fail

Hi Guys,
I flash to the AOKP JB rom yesterday and last night i updated to the newest version from the AOKP OTA Updater (version 3.0.1). Now the current version for my phone is i777 JB build 9.28.2012.
Now here is my problem. I go to work, as usual check my play store. but it will not open. I click on it, it will disappear right away. It didn't even gives me no connection message or anything.
Here is what i have done.
- Clear the cache, no help
- clear the cache and force stop, no help
- uninstall and reinstall, same issue persist.
- restart my phone after clear cache, restart my phone after uninstall, restart my phone after install.
Nothing really help the situation.
I'm wondering if anyone out there have the same problem as me after the update. or maybe it's not the update issue. something that i have done wrong??
