Caution Before Do Odin to restore! - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

This is experience of me.
About 1 month ago, I bricked my phone. When I found& flashed new firmware, it boots up. But I found something wrong. When I pulled down status bar, It say "Unregistered SIM". I tried many things I can but it say "Unregistered SIM" I found firmware is not Koodo/Telus firmware and I found it's European firmware! So before restore firmware via Odin, check firmware is correct.

U need to remove sim card and sd card before using odin
Otherwise sim card will be wiped
And sd card too
herpderp © aint got money to pay to my fish

You could try a baseband change
AOKP 4 LYF (possibly CM7 aswell)

The important thing is flash rom from other country via odin can cause IMEI mess up.
So find proper rom for your phone.

When I learned to flash stock roms I was told to always remove the sim and sd cards before. Once time I forgot to do it and when I noticed I was really scared to have messed up something, but all worked fine. Still it make no damage to take precautions and remove them before flashing with odin.

Never happened till now. Have flashed several times using odin. Only problem is, I get boot loops everytime I flash, but it is solved by clearing user data from recovery.

That happened to me too with one package roms. I solved it by flashing any full package stock rom and then flashing the stock rom I want (if it is one package), and the boot loop will be gone.
The wipe data from recovery its a fix of the boot loop, but still I dont like it get looped in the first start, it makes me think something went wrong in the flashing so I prefer to use the first solution I explained, even if it takes longer

I flashed a lot of times using odin ..never harmed my sim and sd card ..i guess indian sim cards are made of cement XD XD XD XD XD

LOL, Hell Yes!

So does anyone have a fix for this? I flash every rom i come across just to see which is most stable with the best looking UI and latest kernel. Bootloop is always expected but not a prob with stock firmware at hand, or use a full port rom for fast flash without pc.

Have you tried putting the phone into download/Odin mode and flashing a ROM that way?
....................................
Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .Or need to return to service or decide if its hardware/firmware problem .
Confirmed clears leaked beta test rom KP8.
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .
If it sticks at boot factory reset .
jje
If you boil it in hot water for a few minutes it should kill any problems. Alternatively you could try and sprinkle with Hydrogen Peroxide powder and then wash thoroughly. That normally kills all the bugs.
Oh, you meant leaks.
On a side-note, why do you inexperienced users flash things onto their phone that they don't understand?
And yea, do what JJE said.

[Q] Unable to run any Custom ROM properly!

Hey guys,
I'm new here (and new to all this stuff too), so please, bear with me.
Okay, What I have:
1) Rooted Gingerbread 2.3.6
2) CWM Recovery installed.
I tried flashing (via CWM Recovery) Miracle V4 and GalaxyICS. They "worked".
By "worked" I mean, I can get to the setup wizard, set it up, play with my new ROM.. but the problem is.. they work ONLY when I have REMOVED my SIM card from my mobile. With the SIM card inside, my phone "crashes" (force restarts, again-n-again) after reaching the lock-screen!
So, I could use my mobile only after removing my SIM card.
I had to flash my stock ROM again using ODIN to be able to use my mobile.
So, can anyone please help me solve my issue? I probably am missing something here.
Thanks.
Yes to go to stock just go to samfirmware.com and download the right firmware and flash....
But if u wan't custom firmware to work just flash a new baseband (can be done in cmw or odin) ddkq8 works best and works almoust every where
Hope I help
edit: ^oh, the baseband might been the problem
I havent heard such thing before, and this might not help but have you ever installed cusom ROMs with the SIM card in the phone?
Sidenote: you shouldnt need to remove the SIM card when installing new ROMs
My friend had the exact same problem... He is from India sim card of dolphin I.e BSNL
He couldn't find a solution he even upgraded through Odin but no luck
In the end he changed his sim card to a different provider. And now is on cm7

[Q] No network in phone after flashing via odin

Hi, I am using a galaxy s3 recently purchased from Singapore but had a UK firmware version in it, since i bought it cheap from a local dealer who sells a of these European phones here.
I am not a noob, but not a great developer though, u can put me somewre in the middle. What happened is, i downloaded a S3 firmware and flashed it via ODIN. The silly damn mistake i did was, (seriously, i was outa my mind) i put the file in phone instead of PDA in ODIN.
But wen i flashed it once, i realised i did a mistake and changed the file from phone to PDA and everything went off perfectly. Except now, there was no service in the phone. The SIM was inside and worked perfect with other phones, but no other sim worked in my phone.
I took it to a local repair shop, coz der is no warranty for the phone. Since he is a friend of mine, he has ordered the SIM card Unit and is trying to replace it. Now, during the first day i got the phone i rammed it with a sharp pin when tryin to insert the sim, jus when i was opening it in the shop. It got remedied instantly and after tat the SIM worked fine.
Now after the did the wrong flash, everythin in the phone works except der is no mobile network. Is it because i flashed the file wrongly ? Or is it could be the hardware issue that happened earlier repeating again ?
Thanks for taking ur time to read this and supportin me !
Maybe you can try to reflash stock kernel via odin.

Just to be sure that all is good: flash stock rom with odin and then make a factory reset in stock recovery

Easy:
-start in recovery (volume up+home+power)
-select "wipe data/factory reset"
-wait for it to be done
-resart your phone
Just do not forget:
-it will erase your installed apps
-it will erase your contact
-it will wipe your internal storage
-you will have to do the "first start settings " thing (wifi, google account,...) as if your phone was brand new out of the box
So do not forget to backup all things you want to keep

-flash your rom with odin (single tar file as PDA and DO NOT check repartition)
-let your phone restart
-shutdown your phone
-follow the step from my previous post
-restart your phone
-do all the "first start settings" stuff
If you still have your issue, post here but at least we will start with a clean base

Phone locked after SIM inserted

I found a SIM at my work, I thought it could have fell out of a pocket/phone, so I inserted it into my phone to get the phone number from the SIM. However it appears it had a SIM lock. So I inserted MY SIM back into the phone and the SIM lock is still active.
It's a QWERTY lock.
I saw an unlock for the i9100 (and a few other Samsung phones) Windows application a few weeks ago but I can't find it any more.
I only have a cwm backup from the 29th of August, so not very recent.
Any chance I can get rid of the SIM lock only, without having to reset the phone or restore from my cwm backup?

[Q] No network acess, no power menu and yellow text appears on s3

Hey
I bought a used s3 so i dont have any idea whether the phone is carrier locked or not but it was rooted when i got it and was on 4.0.4 i wanted to update it and it took me quite sometime to figure it out
I tried odin and many other softwares in start but no success anyhow later on one night my phone was about to turn off and i had to keep it on so i removed the battery stats and the next morning whenever i made a call the call would last for about 6 mins and in the same time cell would show a message i.e. process.adroid.com.phone has stopped working when i pressed OK the signals would go away and after 2-3 secs they would come back on the same hand when somebody called me i wasnt able to pick their calls because the same message i.e. process.adroid.com.phone has stopped working would pop up.
Anyhow finally after 4-5 days i thought of flashing a custom rom becuz i though i had corrupted my modem so i downloaded this file
downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyS3/roms/leaked4.2.2/Rooted-I9300XXUFME3-4.2.2.zip
and flashed it. It was in hebrew i guess and after flashing it i stopped getting sound on call both when i received one or made one. I got a YELLOW BOX as well on home screen and app screen. Rest was working fine sim card was detected, i could use whatsapp, listen to songs, wifi worked fine, in short everything except calling worked fine
Then a friend of mine told me that i had installed a wrong rom so he gave me a link and i flashed this rom this time
omega-roms.net/blog/?page_id=763
Version 43.5
I.e. Jb 4.1.2
After flashing this rom i am still getting the yellow box that i got when i flashed my phone to 4.2.2 and i m stuck with emergency calls only everything else works fine. I have checked emei it matches that on the back of phone
Information regarding my phone is
Model Number: GT-I9300
ANDROID VERSION: 4.1.2
BASEBAND VERSION: I9300XXEMA5
Older baseband was
I9300BULE6
It had vodafone app as well before i flashed that jewish ROm

You may want to go back to the stock rom using Odin and see if this fixes the issue. That is the only thing I can suggest at this point since you said you've done everything else. When you bought this phone did you swap the sim card? You may also want to get that replaced and see if that works. Good luck.

Yes finally i have removed the microsim using pin i want to see if the same issue persists with any other sim. The sim module must be fine becaue when i removed the sim card it showed insert sim card
About hardware problem. How can you say that? I could make a call 6 mins long and couldnt receive it on my prev 4.0.4 version then later on on Jb 4.2.2 i was able to make calls but with no sound but now i get emergency calls only So this is not a hardware problem and the baseband has changed can it be the reason?
The app says the phone is unlocked so is it actually unlocked or is there any hard secondary lock which this app is not able to detect?

Please read the rules this is not a fix your phone service centre . If you want help don't be rude . Start at the beginning the original post is confusing and much of the process carried out are wrong . Start by factory reset phone and then flash the stock firmware via Odin from sammobile.com that is for your phone and network .But not any 4.2.2 version . Alternative if you are rooted and have CWM recovery is to format sd card system cache data and preload . Boot to download mode and flash stock rom via Odin . Then check your IMEI matches that under the battery . Test phone . jje

Has probably messed everything up as every step has been clueless and wrong .
AGAIN
Start by factory reset phone and then flash the stock firmware via Odin from sammobile.com that is for your phone and network .But not any 4.2.2 version . Alternative if you are rooted and have CWM recovery is to format sd card system cache data and preload . Boot to download mode and flash stock rom via Odin . Then check your IMEI matches that under the battery . Test phone . j
