[Q] NFS Shift problem on SK17i - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Just want to ask, is there any compatibility issues on SK17i with the NFS shift android game or the like. Also, is there a specific minimum/maximum requirements to play this game?
When I Run this game I just see the logo and then it goes black and turns me back to the icon screen. Need help on using this.
Also as of now my total available space remaining:
MicroSD Card - 324 mb
Internal - 128 mb
The phone is updated on the latest android version 2.3.4
And is there any software that can transfer internal memory to external memory?
And also, is there any way to speed up or stabilize the speed for SK17i?

Nah man. Nfs shift are fully compatible with sk17i.
Dude, don't worry, nfs shift runs perfectly smooth on sk17I, even my old lg optimus one with only 600mhz processor runs it smoothly how does your sk17I doesn't run it smoother?
For transferring any apps from internal memory to sd card, I recommend using Link2sd. Search it from the market

so, its possible that its just with the website where I downloaded the app right? i tried it on "Applanet Market" coz its free. Are you suggesting purchasing to download it on the on the "Play Store"?

isnt applanet market is dead?
plus i dont really like downloading stuffs from applanet, the apk's are outdated. try find another apk from google. or maybe u just can buy it from the market to support the developers

Hmmm... It was recommended by a friend and I was just trying to test if it'll work on my Xperia mini pro.
Hope you could recommend the best android market that you know of.
and if there is a way or an app that can stabilize the processing speed or balance the flow of the RAM so that when you still use it for long periods of time it still have that same speed on openning and closing applications or programs on this android phone.

i recommend using Appbrain App Market. my favorite market so far and many people like it.
for speed, try overclocking your cpu using Setcpu or No Frills app but you need a specified kernels to do so and an unlocked bootloader. check out xperia mini pro android development forum.
for ram, you can use any task killer app from the market. it works and free up more of your ram but i didnt recommend it. but you can still use it.

Personally, I'm against task killers.
Android will kill old processes itself, when it feels it needs more memory. Task killer uses itself memory to kill the apps, which actually might be later needed(and then takes longer to load them). Killing tasks doesn't give that much speed.
That's my personal opinion.
Myself, I use only V6 Supercharger on rooted phone with custom ROM to improve my phone's speed, it changes the minfree amounts, that is when Android should kill some unneeded tasks.

Remove that task killer, it slows your phone and drains your battery. Froyo has an incorporated task killer, it keeps active apps that require to be active and closes others. If you really want to force close an app you can do that from the menu.
It also depends what other apps you have installed. Some slow your phone by running in background.

any further suggestions???Tell me guys if i root then will i able to remove those pre loaded apps permanently???& move the needed ones to the sd card???
try supermanager, clear your cache and there is a limit that you can go with an unrooted phone to make it faster.its like applying the brake while u accelerate.to release the brake u have to root and install an oced kernal or a custom rom.
if u dont wish to root please do not complain....stock rom is built for stability only not for speed.

[Q] Why Root

I was just wondering why is it a good idea to root ?
What do you guys do once you have rooted your phones ?
some people likes their phones as they are.
some people likes to make some changes to their phones, as fonts, battery indicator, delete some idle apps, make device a little bit faster and comfortable for everyday using
I do understand hacking phones, I even used to cook roms back in the day of the omnia 2 but I'm just wondering because I'm new to android, why or should we root the new ones ie, 2.3.3 2.3.4 and what benefits we can gain from it if we don't flash custom roms ?
Oh and I have just re rooted my neo by the way
The biggest benefit is most likely the ability to use Titanium Backup if you're not interested in all the tweaks and custom roms and themes.

Ah thanks, is the free titanium on the market any good ?
The Pro version has far more features but yeah the Free version is good enough for a basic backup.
I personally rooted my phone so I can tweak it. I like using the V6 supercharger to alter minfrees and fix OOM-groupings. I also like playing Tegra games with Chainfire3D. My ROM is currently the SE TWEAKEDv0.5 and my Kernel is DooMLorD's (the new one by inteks) i'm on 283 because I don't like updating for no reason... oh and WifiKill (it requires root )
There's also a tool called ROM toolbox. SassiBoB reviewed it. It is quite similar to TB, but the free version offers more features.

Rooted apps I use:
Titanium Backup: backs up ANY app and app data, even system apps, and more importantly has the power to UNINSTALL ANY APP, even system apps.
EzBoot: reboot your phone quickly (turning it off, waiting and then turning it back on is so dumbphone-like).
Root Explorer: can access hidden system data files in internal memory.
Chainfire 3D: it's supposed to trick hi-end games into thinking your phone has a Tegra chip or simply downscales textures to improve performance, but I admit I'm yet to see a game that needs this.
Script Manager: needed to Supercharge your phone (just did that, I'm not sure if this actually improves performance.
Font Installer: yeah, I changed all fonts on my phone. And yeah, it's pretty useless.
AdFree: promises to block ads on the phone. I was led to believe this is supposed to block ads on all apps, but I notice it doesn't work on some annoying apps with very intrusive ads. It does work on most web pages when browsing the internet though.
FasterFix: it's supposed to get faster locks on GPS satellites. I'm yet to test it properly.
Before I rooted, the only thing I ever wanted with rooting the Xperia neo was definitely Titanium Backup (I can't stand the sight of demos of Let's Golf and Nova HD eating up space from my internal memory). Now I can count 8 rooted apps here. The thing is, phones should all come rooted, period. The user should be able to choose to give away root access on an app-by-app basis.

Thanks I'll have a look at these ones
I'll mention the most basic and useful thing you can do to a rooted Neo-uninstall all the bloatware that comes with the latest Neo firmware and free RAM. Those useless apps constantly occupy around 30mb of RAM and decrease performance. I for example don't want that intrusive Facebook app spread throughout the entire system running constantly. That,Titanium Backup and Ad Free are the major reasons to root for me.

Yeah, besides freeing RAM, it also frees my blood pressure. I can't stand the sight of demos of "Let's Golf" and "Nova" stuck in my phone.

[Q] Prevent app killing

Hello,
Is there any way to stop android killing apps like swipepad, proximity sensor running? Any application or something? It can also be an app that automatically starts chosen apps

I'd like to know too
I'd like help with this as well. There are a couple of apps (ADW EX for one) that I'd like to have priority when it comes to memory management and make sure they never get killed. I have searched a lot and so far have not found anything.
I am rooted if there is a way with root privileges.

Yes would be great. The only way I found to keep the apps running in background is to free the RAM from even system apps. It gives extra 60MB of memory, however it doesn't solve the problem.

How to prevent an app be closed

Hi!
I'm facing problems with the way Android manage the RAM.
When I have Opera open and do another task, inmediatly the memory manager closes it. When I open Opera again it load again the webs I had, consuming more data...
So the question is... how can I prevent that Opera be closed by the memory manager?
You cant ,, thats how things work on android and thats why low RAM on android device makes it useless in multitasking

i had the same problem with chatting in im pro and usind dolphine browser hd
try ram manager app from google play and set it to more multitasking or hard multitasking
note: requires root access
Root your phone.. Get rid of all the bloatware! It will certainly bring a bit of change in RAM..
Or better, unlock your bootloader and install custom ROMS!
Warning : Doing any of the two above will void your device's warranty!

v6 Supercharger
use the v6 supercharger script... it helps a lot
but the problem isn't that I ran out of RAM, I usually have around 90-100MB free.

Search for supercharger thread n read
Try increasing the background processes limit! Goto settings> developer options>background processes limit set it to highest instead of standard! Or uncheck destroy background processes if its checked!

Help with deleting ram hogging apps

I recently installed a Rom and the ram is consistently at 700mb can anyone advise me on how to lower this say yo 500 - 600mb.
Also is there a app or task manager that will allow me to decide what apps I want to stay open and what ones close after a pre defined time. Dont know if im thinking ahead with this app

V6 supercharge and greenify, Google these
Actually it doesn't really matter about RAM...

Are you managing app auto starts? If not get LBE Security Master and set which apps you want to start up after booting. That will save you some RAM.

actually i have been using LEB for a year or so, and only use it as bandwidth monitor ... that function about disable autostart seems is not very working well because my RAM always got over 700+ MB.
but anyway , consider the Android's RAM management which is quite different to Windows , so i am fine with that ...
just my music player get killed frequently which is very annoying !!!

Freeze some things with titanium backup. Greenify apps you don't need running in the background. I normally always have around 180mb of ram free with widgets on the homescreen, messaging and exdialer in memory, whatsapp, headset manager, google services, quickpic, Facebook notifications etc. Personally not a fan of Swap/ZRam/Supercharger. My best experience has easily been running stock or WanamLite with no tweaks/build.prop edits other than Jkay Deluxe. Also, Perseus kernel has some ram modifications in the kernel so you get an extra 20mb or so of ram
Still do not understand why people want more free RAM; free RAM is doing nothing, while RAM that is being used is caching apps in memory so it can be loaded faster, making a more responsive system. Please research. With that being said, too much RAM usage is not good; about 5% (45mbs on our GS3) should always be left idle.

If you want more ram then you must setup which apps can launch in the background after startup. These are the apps that eat ram because they begin running by themselves and continue running even if you never use them. Of the 80+ plus apps that I have only 4 of them are allowed to startup on boot.
