I get force closes on DSP manager every time a call is either made or received. It happened on CM7, miui and now Eclipse which makes me think I'm just missing something here, do I need something else installed or anything like that?
edit: it wasn't every time a call was made in CM7 or miui, just happened at random times on those two.

Hi all! I am running Bionix V 1.2.1 with the dragon kernel5 - all in all, I am very satisfied, but lately I've been running into a few problems that I'm pretty sure I caused during my more reckless period of flashing test kernels (at least, that's when the symptoms appeared). The first and most annoying issue is that the Music Player will play the first song I select without any problem, but at the end of the song, rather than moving to the next track, the app freezes eventually resulting in a force close. Same thing happens with sound player and a gingerbread music app i dl'ed from the market...also sometimes after the watching a video from the gallery. I'm assuming this is because I've corrupted something (perhaps something to do with CorePlayerService?) This sometimes also coincides with issue #2: the notification bar will be inaccessible occasionally, usually accompanied by some general lag, only fixed when I kill and restart launcher.
Now, I know that whatever my problems may be, i would probably be well served to odin back to stock, root, and start over now that I'm done being a jackass--but that seems like overkill, considering how narrow my problem is.
Has anyone else experienced this? (or is that like asking, "i ate some raw, spoiled meat this morning and now I'm violently ill....anyone else experience this?") Does anyone have general insight? Perhaps even a quick fix that obviates the need to spend a couple hours on damage control...?
P.S. if there is already a thread that COMPLETELY covers this, please don't flame me to death....i did at least TRY to find it ;x
This has always been a problem for me since Nero 3. It's the rom not the kernal. I think it's a bad flash. I just odin back to stock and reflash. I tried replacing MusicPlayer.apk in system/app but that still didn't work. I hope someone finds a solution.
Heh...good to know i'm not alone. Also, I don't know if this is at all related, but starting at the same time I noticed quadrant now freezes at h.264 decoding and also had to fc... Guess I'll be re flashing...

This is probably a bug, but it's a really annoying bug and I'm curious if anyone is experiencing the same issue. Periodically if I'm in an app for an extended period of time (surfing Twitter, chatting on Facebook, etc), my phone will vibrate a few time (a short haptic-feedback-like vibration, but 5 or 6 of them in quick succession). Then the app will close and display the dark little "App Successfully Closed" box.
Anyone else having this problem? My guess is that the garbage collector is freeing up memory, but it's freeing up memory that I'm currently using. Super annoying...
That's not a force close, that's just your phone experiencing the "phantom button press." I've never been sure if that was rom related or phone related, considering I've experienced it on a number of different roms. Anyway, try a battery pull, that might work.
On CM7...under settings/applications/developement...there is an option...stop app via long-press...uncheck that...now holding back (or phantom press) wont close anything. Hope this helps.
Just remembered that I made this thread, because my phone was freaking out again today and closing apps. Oh how I need to sleep more...
I unchecked the "force close on back button" long-press option. I'm curious what would be causing this, either the kernel or ROM. My gut tells me kernel, but I have no idea. I'm not technically skilled enough (yet) to pour through kernel code to fix it.

reboot recovery and wipe cache and reboot, then run fix permission in term emu or boot back into recovery and run fix permission....I've never run miui but if you phone goes buzz........ Buzz..buzz..buzz that is a force close of something whether a message box pops up or not. it could be from a kernel issue...although I would think its something else like forgetting to wipe something in the initial flash or restoring Data or incompatible apps in titanium backup...did you restore via Ti-Bu?

I was experiencing that before this last time, after a cache/dalvik wipe, reinstall I haven't had it happen since. It was so aggravating too, as it was like MIUI was bragging about closing something I was using...
Ok so I have been looking over the forums and I hope I didn't miss it if there is a post already about this so I am going to go ahead and ask away. If it has been posted and I did miss it then I apologize for beating a dead horse.
I have tried the Liquid Gingersense (v1.4, v1.5, and v1.6) and CyanogenMod (v7.1.0-RC1.5.2 and v 7.1.0-RC1.6.1) and have not had any luck. Along with some minor esthetic issues I had with the CyanogenMod, I had noticed that the Gingersense actually disabled my radio and I was unable to make any calls and the signal bars would just show up with an "x" next to it. I rebooted many times and kind of tinkered around and tried other ways of turning it on or playing with LTE on/off to see if that would help in any way and I never did get it enabled.
When I would look at the "Quick Setting" (if I recall the name correctly), the icon for me to enable it was greyed out so clicking on it did nothing at all. Has anyone had this issue? Did I perhaps miss doing something when setting this up? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
You mentioned that you had no signal with Gingersense but not with Cyanogenmod so I'm not sure if this is your case but did you flash the radio suggested for those roms? MR2, GB leak, etc. If not, you can find links in the pinned thread at the top of the Q/A.
Also, remember when switching between roms to wipe data/cache.
No actually I did not try that. So if I do get time to do that do I do the ROM then the radio thing? I do believe I came across a.radio deal and thought " I wonder if I need to install that?" But never tried. I figured it safer to ask and not break my phone than to break it and figure out how to fix it...lol

Ya sounds like you need to flash an Mr2 or higher radio. Check the q&a stickys for links and instructions.

Well I decided to give it another shot. I have GingerSense v1.7 installed and did the MR2 install and it all works perfectly. I have a few apps I need to reinstall and a couple icons to redo but other then that everything looks great and seems to work smooth. Thank you guys for the help. I greatly appreciate it.
Actually the only issue I am having right now is that every...I dont know maybe 5 minutes or so there is an error that pops up that Im not sure how to get rid of. It says...
"The application Google Services Framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
Any ideas or thoughts about this?
Well I think I have discovered the root of this error. I have noticed that when I text and if o click on the Mic to do voice to txt that even though the screen pops up as if it OS going to record, it does absolutely nothing. How to fix it is where I am still stumped though.

Well it seems I have been noticing some weird things that are making me think maybe I should try Gingersense v1.5
At first my camera was working but Im not sure why it isnt now. I cant do pics or video and lastnight when I was trying to Skype with my cousin in CA the video cam didnt work for me. I also have been getting two different errors...
1) The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
-AND-
2) The application Talk (process com.google.android.talk) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I also had noticed that it seems to take a bit longer for the phone to boot in comparison to what it used to and especially when it was brand new and not yet rooted. I have a custom static image that says "HTC quietly rooted" and a WWII themed Android boot animation". When I reboot I get a black screen for about 30 seconds then the custom HTC image comes up for about 20-25 seconds then the custom animation plays THEN once that's done I'm booted into my phone.
Is there any kind of way to cut those times down for faster booting? Well I think I will have to keep messing with this and see what I can do...
Running stock OS w/ root and amon_ra. Been rock solid for 1.5 months+ at this point and today had 2 random force closes of google framework(one about 2 minutes after the first time was cleared). I rebooted and hasn't happened in a few hours. This was during a call. Anyone else experienced this?
Oh and one of my apps just vanished off the phone (droid forums). for whatever reason it always installs on the sdcard, which annoys me as i never asked it to. reinstalled and its right back on sd with all settings intact. can't find any other files that are gone from that partition though.
Everytime I install a MIUI rom on my phone, within 3-4 days everything begins force closing. It starts with something along the lines of "android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly", and then moves onto every other app that i open. This has happened with the most recent MIUI ver. (2.8.10), as well as the older ones. If anybody knows how to fix this please speak up, because MIUI is by far my favorite rom up until the crashes begin. :crying:
