Hello togehter,
I have problems updating my Razr. Since i removed (and not freezed) bloatware from my Razr I am not able to install updates. I tried to solve the problem by doing a full wipe and restore to factory settings. Unfortunately it didnt work.
Since i did the restore i am on the version 651.73.30.XT910 and didn' receive any updates until yesterday. There i got the update notification for 651.167.26.XT910. I downloaded it and startet the installation but this failed at 1/4 of the progress bar.
Has anyone an idea what to do to be able to install updates again?
Thx very much
Ole
Ole, the OTA update will first verify the validity of the OTA zip file and then runs a number of dependency checks on the system to ensure that the environment it is updating is exactly as it expects it.
One of the functions it calls during the pre update process is apply_patch_check("/system/build.prop"). So, if you are using a custom rom OR have tweaked the build.prop it more then likely will fail this test. It also checks for the existence of a number of system files so if you have frozen/removed any system apps this will also trigger an update failure.
I suggest you try this first
1. unfreeze/restore ALL system applications.
2. download voodoo root keeper or similar and backup su/root with it. Then un-root.
3. Now try again, if it still fails then you could either push a stock buil.prop to /system or you could flash a stock rom again (don't forget to backup).
He said he removed the bloatware, and he's asking for help here, so I'm guessing he has no backup of it.
You need to flash this flashboot file which will restore to original factory settings with bloatware:

still not working
Hey guys,
when trying to flash the rom that you posted above, I get the error message from rsd lite "Failed flashing process. 1/11 flash cdt.bin "cdt.bin_signed" -> Phone returned FAIL; phone connected.
I installed ADB.. etc properly. What to do now?

I soft brick my phone when I try to install the latest software update. I am trying to flash back to 1.2.6 but I was only able to download 1.2.6, and HTTP (the first one but no the second one), and MultiUpload. How can I download the second HTTP (under 1.5.2), Hotfile, and DepositFiles? If not, will I be able to Flash back to the original stock?
My current position is:
System Version: 4.1.26.MB860
Android version: 2.2.1
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9
Build number: OLYFER_U4_1.2.6
Download
1.2.6
bandbinnovations. com/Atrix.7z
Password: atrixbl
1.5.2
HTTP (Rename from .rar to .gz)
HTTP (Rename from .rar to .gz)
MultiUpload
Hotfile. com
DepositFiles
If I'm correct 1.2. 6 is the retail rom.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Download 1.2.6 install, then on phone settings > about phone> system updates.
if you want root then you need to do the before update script BEFORE you update in settings on the phone then after update script after updating.

I don't want the root. But every time I go to phone settings > about phone > system updates, it updates and then during the install it bricks...
Hello everybody,
Here's the details of the actual situation i encounter with my lovely Atrix :
-Bought Retail in 2.2 in France
-Updated in 2.3.4 with Motorola tools
-Rooted Successfuly
-Bootloader unlocked (seems it was not necessary because it was a retail and updateed via Motorola tools, as i could read on other boards, can someone confirm this point please)
-Recovery changed to CWM 5.0.2.0 using ROM Manager
I can successfully backup and restore my phone to this state.
Tried to Flash CM7, iBlur! using CWM but everytime i have the same sequence :
Finding update package
Opening Update package
installing update
Installing aborted
without any other useful messages.
Here's the detailed informations about my phone :
System Version : 45.31.0.MB860.Retail.en.FR
Android Version : 2.3.4
Baseband Version : N_01.100.00R
Webtop Version : WT-1.2.0-133_38
Kernel Version (tried to flash a new one, but this didnt worked so i went back to original) :
2.6.32.9 [email protected]#3
APflex version :GAS_EMEA_USAOLYGBRTFR_P018
GAS_EMEA_USAOLYGBRTFR_A005
GAS_EMEA_USAOLYPRTEU_M001
Build Version : 4.5.2A-74_OLE-31
Moreover, since i unlocked the booloader, i can't use anymore the fingerprint reader, but this is not my priority actually.
Tried different things (while i was learning more on this phone)
- tried to put the rom on the SD-Ext instead of SD-int : nothing changes
- tried to rename to update.zip (understood later this wouldn't work anyway) : no changes
Thanks to you all for the time you will spend reading this
Flash latest Romracer's recovery instead of using Rom Manager.
Perform a full fastboot wipe prior to flashing a ROM.
reboot to recovery
wipe dalvik
wipe cache
reboot to fastboot
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase webtop
fastboot erase preinstall
fastboot reboot (to recovery)
flash ROM
when you flash, are you rebooting to CWM and then choosing to install, or trying to do the install from your current ROM (i.e. from ROM Manager)? I've had mixed success with choosing it from within the current ROM.
When you boot to CWM, are you choosing "apply update from sdcard", or are you going to "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from internal sdcard" and browsing to your zip'd rom? Again, mixed success with the first option - always have had to choose the second.
When you boot, do you see "unlocked" on the boot screen? I've never heard that Motorola actually followed through on unlocking the boot loader via the update but I could be wrong (and probably am, since I didn't do the OTA update).
@CaelanT : i will follow your instruction step by step - thanks
@tlazarus : - tried both (installing Rom from Rom manager under Android, and rebooting to CWM)
- tried both too (and from sd-ext and sd-int)
- i see Unlocked on my screen - but i did unlock the bootloader - i wasn told that, because i had a retail Atrix and did the update via Motorola tools, i wasn't forced to unlock the bootloader (i found several articles saying that , on GB update, Motorola will unlock the bootlader ...)
My skill and knowledge level on smartphones is low, but i'm familiar with rom flashing on other devices.
i'll give you a feedback asap
Thanks again !
Moto never gave us an unlocked bootloader. We got it from a leaked GB version.
@CaelanT :
ok so i did follow all the steps :
changed my recovery
wipe Dalvik and cache
erased all w/fastboot
reboot to recovery
at this point, everything went OK
tried to flash my rom
same result -"Installation aborted"
can't see what's wrong actually ...
What procedure, step by step, are you doing to flash the ROM?
Have you tried re-downloading the ROM's to make sure you didn't get a corrupted file set?
You could try flashing a Fruitcake from : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163009
I would also recommend flashing SUPEROSR from : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436843
This ROM is very good.
Make sure you are choosing "install zip from sdcard". In my experience it hasn't mattered whether I flash from internal or external.
ok so first of all, THANK YOU !
i did actually follow step by step the previous instruction you gave me.
I downloaded Neutrino, and finally i can now have a custom rom.
I guess i know now why i had some trouble flashing previously :
Bad wipe & clean
maybe not the correct CWM
Rom zip has to be on the internal sd.
anyway, you were really helpfull ... what a pity i can click "thanks" only once !
Glad you finally got it going!
So first thing I did was rooted the Photon 4g with torpedo and it worked.
Second I installed bootstrap recovery and made sure it worked, it did.
Third installed the 198_7 libmoto_ril.so (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1798210) with bootstrap recovery then I installed the SBF that went along with it (in RSD lite of course). Everything was working like normal.
Then I tried to execute the Unlocked bootloader with microboot and TWRP 2.2 recovery sbf and it gave me an error saying "failed flashing process. error processing flash file"
So instead I just used the unlocked bootloader sbf and it worked fine.
Now I'm not sure what to do next as bootstrap recovery no longer works (it just reboots back to my lock screen) and I want to get a custom rom on it (ICS) and make sure that it's unlocked... Any help?
Also info:
Code:
system version 45.3.6.MB855.Sprint.en.US
Model Number MB855
Android version 2.3.4
Baseband version N_01.28.07R
Webtop version WT-1.2.0-160
Kernel version 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #2
Build number 4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_6
Hmm, when did you download the sbf with twrp? I did a mistake, when I made that sbf for the first time. Try to download it again.
You don't need bootstrap recovery, if you want to be unlocked.
After unlocking, you can install the recovery in fastboot, if you keep having problems with that sbf.
I did it about an hour before I made the post, so I don't think I used the old one.
And how would I go about installing recovery in fastboot? I can't seem to figure this out.
Also is there some way I can check if I'm unlocked besides just putting a SIM card in it?
Thanks in advance!
I just downloaded the sbf with twrp and flashed properly.
Try to download it again and flash it from download folder.
Seems to have worked after redownloading. Thanks a lot :good:
So i have 4 XT910S phones. I wanted to put a EU or US firmware on them so they were no longer branded and didnt have all these apps on them.
So here is what I did.
downloaded 4.0.4 CN firmware (unbranded)
Rooted and backed up CDROM file and CID file
Flashed the CN firmware on the XT910S
Using the BT TOOLS trick it boots up fine
Flased CID.IMG through command prompt in windows
Now when it boots it goes straight to fastboot with the error
Invalid CG OTV (CG: cdrom): Invalid SP data
Invalid CG HAB (CG: cdrom, status: 0X0056)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: cdrom)
I tried restoring my original CDROM file but it says the image is larger than the partition.
the original backup CDROM file is 217,088 KB and the one that i am finding with EVERY other firmware is 216,832 KB
I have even tried getting backups of all the CDROM files off the other phones and they are all the same size
The original firmware is 67.42.17.xt910s.skt.en.kr but I cannot find it anywhere to download
HELP
your cid is no longer valid because cid version of xt910s 4.0.4 is 4 and the rom you installed has CID 5
now to bypass boot you will have to boot from bp tools or install boot menu manager after rooting, thats what i am doing
and to get throught that boot failure error
follow this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43806194&nocache=1
thats how i recovered my xt910s

Thanks for the help. I have to ask if there is any way to get it back to normal? I need to sell these phones sadly, not for keeping and personal use. So is there any way to flash back to CID 4? I have experience with hex programming if that helps (I cannot see how C++ or pearl would do any good here).

Your CID isn´t changed and you can´t change it,each phone has its own CID.
Your CDT.bin was changed to 5,china boot and system are signed with secure version 5.
You shouldn´t restore your CID,because you flashed China kernel, then the phone can´t work.
Your option now is to flash EU JB with RSD Lite. Here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/42057363/RSDLite_v6.1.x.zip is RSD Lite 6.1.5 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231289 are the JB Fastboot files.
still he need to root and install bmm otherwise his only option to boot is bp tools

Sorry to ask just one more question. Will this get it back to normal without having to do any boot menu tricks or root? the phones are supposed to be sold and I need to make sure any idiot can use them. It is only 1 like this so if that one is a write off than so be it but just need to know.

razr xt910 problem, help required urgently.
Motorolla RAZR xt910s Problem
Dear All, I bought Motorolla RAZR xt910s a week ago. I tried installing Cyanogenmod 11 KitKat after rooting and installing CWM Recovery. Rom was successfully installed but the installation of G apps failed so i rebooted it.Now it shows the Motorolla logo screen and then goes black. Also i can enter the recovery menu by 3 key combination. i tried wiping data to factory settings and clearing cache but in vain. Today i tried flashing (using RSD Lite 5.6.4) a stock rom of ICS(4.0.4) and then JB (4.1.2) downloaded from a website but it shows error ''failed 6/12 flashing cdt.bin flash failed..............etc''. I have also tried using fast boot cable/factory cable but now it is giving the error of "read/write failed, unknown error" in moto fast boot and rsd lite software. How can i solve this problem of read write failed unknown error.
Please help on urgent basis... Waiting to hear from you people soon...
Have you tried matt's utility to restore stock ROM? See http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/764-gsm-xt910-razr-utility/
If successfully restored to stock then root using the utility, but do not install safe strap from the utility. You should then download and install the latest version of safestrap (version 3.65) and install it. See http://rootzwiki.com/topic/104161-recovery-locked-safestrap-recovery-v365-2013-11-13/
I've read that only safestrap works correctly with cm11. So, now use safestrap to install cm11 (and gapps if you wish) in slot 2 (I've read that cm11 works best in slot 2).

I have a Motorola XT 910 that I bought and still use in India. I installed the wrong firmware. Details as given below:
Android version 4.1.2
Build 9.8.2O-124_SPUEM-14
System version 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.EU
I am trying to flash it with SPYDERIRD_U.01.26.0_SPD-IRD-21_SIGN_ASIA_RETAIL_HKTW.xml which seems to the correct version. However I get AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Flash Failure 0A.77). I tried using both RSD lite (which gave a error on cdt.bin_signed and also installing from external storage (sd card). I think I also tried adb (sideload) which stopped at 92%. Can someone help me with going back to the correct version ..
I want to get back to the Asian firmware.
