Cannot unlock SGS2 after flashing ROM - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I am using an Australian Vodafone Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100GT. I just flashed my phone from Gingerbread 2.3.3 to ICS LP7 ("GT-I9100_XTC_I9100DXLP7_I9100OLBLP7_I9100DXLP7"). The flash went well but on booting up the phone, it will not unlock!! It comes up with a pattern code (which I wasn't using previously) and I can't do anything about it.
On a side note I still have Android Recovery System v3e. I remember every time I used to try to upgrade using this recovery system, I would receive error messages with no clear solutions on the forums.
I want to get to PureICS but cannot figure out how to do so.
I would greatly appreciate any advice.
Thanks,
Jack.

Have you tried factory resetting from recovery?

Problem with Voda Aus ICS 4.0.3 ROOT

Hi, I looked around but can't find a thread similar enough to mine to be helpful.
I have a Galaxy S2 i9100T with Vodafone Australia running 4.0.3 ICS
Earlier, I did a lot of research and absorbed a lot of knowledge, and attempted my first root.
Off to a bad start, as it is not working, and my phone will not boot.
My aim was to root, and root only. Not flash any custom firmware etc.
My kernal version was i9100TDULPB, so I downloaded a modded kernal version, which was CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXX_LPB-v5.2-CWM5
from Chainfire's thread > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
and Flashed it on the phone using Odin, the process went well and Odin gave me a 'success'.
However, the phone started up and showed the typical Samsung Galaxy SII boot page, with the yellow triangle down bottom, but then just turned off. I tried booting again, same thing. Vice verca, I could not get the phone to boot past that page.
I can get into Download mode and CWM recovery, I tried booting from CWM recovery to no luck.
So I downloaded another similar kernal from Chainfire, this time it was called > CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXX_LPB-v5.2-CWM5-PROPER
Which still gave me the same problem. And that is the kernal which is currently on the phone.
And that brings you up to scratch, I'm unsure of what to do now and don't want to risk screwing up my phone any further.
Please explain (Noob friendly ) On what I can do to fix this, I am still interested in having the phone rooted, is there a different kernal you can reccomend I flash? Or a quick fix from CWM recovery? I am new to this, and any advice is helpful.
Thankyou in advance
I think Cf-root is intended only for i9100, not i9100T.
Anyway, try this.

If you want just root then flash back your stock ROM and use method 1 from guide in my signature.

[Q] PIN without factory reset

Hi all, I bought an i9100 on ebay, but there is a pin on it, I know you can remove it by factory resetting, but I have no idea if it is using ICS and I don't want to brick it, is there any way to either find out what its running, or to remove the PIN in another way? I tried looking at it through kies to see if it was using GB or ICS but keis just asks for the PIN to be entered
Get the seller to tell you or youll send it back for a refund.

Why not flash speedmod kernel which doesn't have hard brick bug and then factory reset
~Sent from my Galaxy S2
factory resetting !
factory reset !! wil not brick your phone !!!if you have a original firmwere !
TRY ODIN ! Put a original s2 rom on it !
Don't be afraid !
OR
Use siyah kernel ! Very good !
If the ROM is 4.0.4, It might brick, but he can simply flash a new kernel and then wipe Or flash another ROM
Hi guys, thanks for your help, just to update what I did in the end, I flashed speedmod-kernel-s2-k2-21-Odin.tar using odin, which left me with a hung phone, then I flashed Siyah-s2-v4.1.5.tar, which made it work again, did a wipe/factory reset and it didn't brick my phone, then it asked me if i wanted to fix root which I said yes to and all is good, PIN lock gone and am using the phone, turned out it had 4.0.3 on it, anyway thanks again everybody

FYI,
SpeedMod K2 is for Gingerbread. (2.3.x)
SpeedMod K3 is for ICS. (4.0.x)
Which is why flashing K2-21 hung your phone.
Hi all, I've got a follow up question, after doing the above, my jig wasn't working on it so I had to install an older bootstrap, then I downloaded and installed the original vodaphone kernel that would have been on there before I changed it, but I still have root, my question is if I sell the phone will the next person be able to update it using Kies, Kies does show that an update is available and does start downloading it, but I cancelled it, is it safe or will it brick the phone? also I was thinking about debranding the phone, would that just involve flashing an official unbranded package such as I9100XWLP7_I9100XEULP5 or is there more to it than that? and if I did would Kies then work on that and update with the unbranded updates in future rather then vodaphone updates?

[Q] changed font, now bricked

okay, i tried to do some reset things but they didn't work.
I've got an s2 skyrocket from AT&T.
I rooted it several months ago with odin using a recovery file that was linked online.
last night my friend changed the font, which I've done before, and now it wont boot past the AT&T logo.
i tried reloading the recovery thru odin, but it still is frozen.
so how would i go about unbricking my phone?
can you not just wipe and re flash a clean stock ROM, but make sure you only wipe if you have 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 with a safe custom kernal, if you use stock 4.0.4 you will be permanently bricked. i suggest flashing a clean 4.0.3 stock, from here you can use kies to updat 4.0.4 and root using the guide on xda.
You're in the wrong forum. This forum is for Gt-i9100 International version. You have Skyrocket which a different device and flashing anything from this forum onto you phone will break it. Go to to Skyrocket forum and ask there. Good luck.

[Q] Can't get out of boot loop on Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300)

Hello!
My Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) was rebooting itself for the past few days, randomly. Last night, it did it again, but didn't boot back up. Instead, it is now stuck on an infinite boot loop - it gets as far as the splash screen (Galaxy SIII logo), then reboots, on a loop.
I've never tried to flash or root the device, I only used the official OTA updates from Samsung.
The first thing I tried was to remove the battery, SIM card and MicroSD card for 5 minutes. I then wiped the Cache Partition through the Android Recovery Mode. I then flashed using the Samsung Kies recovery procedure. This didn't help. I then tried a Factory Reset through the Android Recovery Mode, multiple times. This also didn't help. The last thing I tried was to flash the ROM using Odin3. I used the firmware version appropriate for my region and carrier. Everything was successful, but I'm still having the same problem.
I tried to view the boot logs with adb, but of course, the phone won't stay on for long enough to establish a USB connection. I'm not sure what else to try.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks for looking!
I just managed to un-brick the phone by using Odin to install a stock Gingerbread firmware. Initially, I had tried it with Jelly Bean. I'm now hoping I had Auto Backup enabled in my Samsung Account...but at least I have my phone back. If anyone has any troubleshooting tips for me, now that I'm less limited, that'd be great.
Thanks!

Galaxy Note 2 Simple Mobile/Verizon Rapid Bootloop

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Galaxy Note 2 from Simple Mobile began to experiment with it. Later on I managed to root it, but I accidentally flashed a recovery via Rom Manager which after a restart broke my phone.
After that I flashed a OTA through Odin of Verizon 4.1.2. The system booted and everything but the radio was missing meaning that I could not text or use 3G. I looked for many ways to restore it but none worked.
I later on flashed a T-Mobile ROM thinking it will help restore the radio and it did successfully flash the ROM through the recovery. But the ROM turned out to be 4.3 and the radio still didn't work. Later on in the same day I flashed an OTA of T-Mobile through Odin and that's when this happened. My phone bootloops really fast when I turn it on. The recovery doesn't show up at all. And every time I flash anything through Odin it fails. I've felt ashamed all this time and it took me a while to reflect and face what I've done and decided to post on here to get help.
Thanks for reading! Any help is appreciated. I will try every method that gets posted and will post back results.

I have a very similar problem. hope you get help on this, I have been trying to fix this problem for a month.
The 4.3 update is where the issue came from if it will allow you to flash try using a custom rom to get you out the boot loop but because the 4.3 bootloader is locked you now have another issue you will now have to run a virtual rom and there is a certain way you have to do it or you will completely brick your phone try researching first Google your phone model with the rom build 4.3 root you have to root it now before you can do any modifications at this point
