I really need help guys! I flashed CM9 Turl on my motorola atrix and then everything was fine for a whole day. later i tried flashing the cm7 faux's 1.45 ghz kernel and after it rebooted the whole thing just freezes. It's SUPER laggy, I can't get anything to move but the phone isn't bricked. My usb debugging is disabled and I can't get access to my internal storage also. There is no way to go back? My solution was to get a Ba2tf.zip CM7 file and flash it. But that didn't work because I can't use internal storage or USB debussing and usb mass storage is also off and I can't turn any of these things on!! Is there a solution to this? Can I buy a microsd card and put a ba2tf.zip on it, then put it in my phone, flash that cm7 file, then go to rom manager and go back to my backup of the CM9 turl? will that work?! Please someone HELP ME!!
Try to erase everything with fastboot and than flash a rom from recovery.
Fastboot commands
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase webtop
fastboot erase preinstall
fastboot reboot
Have you tried to access your backup through recovery? You don't need to use Rom Manager.

The easiest way to solve this is to get into CWM recovery and wipe everything for a fresh install.
the best CWM recovery for atrix is romracer's Custom CWM-based Recovery
which u can get it from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204500
after flashing it, go into recovery flash everything get a fresh new rom and flash it all over again....

Hi first I want to say that i'm not a noob, I already rooted my streak, installed streakdroid, power rom and longhorn 2.2 (currently using). my problem is, I want to update to longhorn 2.5, so I downloaded the zip put it on root of sd, reboot in recovery, update from zip and the setup stop right after the ''opening package'' and I get back to the top menu in recovery. I tried with an other rom and I still have the same problem... any idea on what i'm doing wrong?
Thanks!
pull the SD card and mount in a PC card adapter and do a scandisk on it.
Reflash streakmod recovery
try another recovery. i wonder what yo did to install longhorn 2.2?

actually that's the reason of my question, I flashed several rom and now I can't... weird.. but I'll try scanning my SD
Did the scan nothing has changed...
It may be that you need to copy all of the contents of your SD card to another location (backup) then re-Format the SD card. after it is reformatted, copy back the files and try again. I have had to Format my SD card a few times to keep it running smoothly.
yeah well i'm really stock right now I flashed my sd and even tried on an other one and it still doesn't work... it still stop after the opening package..
if it can help I filmed the steps from recovery to show where it freeze. and yes the screen is reversed but you can clearly see that it does not upgrade to longhorn 2.5 (a the end you see that i'm still on 2.2 v1)
http://youtu.be/SvpG1SKhE40
Whats your ROM version?
I have tryed to run Longhorn 2.5 under ROM 406 but it doesnt started up even after factory reset ... so I flashed it to 407 and wiped dalvik cash, reflashed Longhorn and it works pretty fine
Or
You might use Streakflesh to fully flash your device to the standart ROM as it was before, and then download ROM 407, amss and dsp files, and flash them using fastboot.
Well its all what i have done to get my streak work with Longhorn 2.5 hope it will help u2

ok I was on 406 so I flashed 407. I see the olleh boot screen got android 2.3.3 fine. I reflashed streak recovery tryed to flash longhorn 2.5 I still have the same problem, opening package then stop...
for the second part I want to know, the standart rom I just need to look for a dell rom 2.2 flash it with fastboot then reflash with 407, amss and dsp? is there any specific amss and dsp file I should get since I already flashed those recommanded for streakdroid (I think DJSteve did them)
ps: thanks for also answering my last resort thread
ok I'm really stock... downgraded to original rom on 2.2.1 re-did everything after the opening package nothing works... is it possible to install a costum rom with fasboot only?

Finally I ended up being able to flash a custom rom again. I did a factory recovery and get back to rogers android 2.2 FW, flashed streakmod and installed olleh, did a factory reset from phone menu, put custom rom on sd, reflashed streakmod along with amss dsp1 and finally update from zip on sd in recovery and voila it worked.. weird but anyway I'm happy it's working now!

Hi,
I have an issue installing Longhorn 2.8.
My knowledge is limited to use of flashboot, and installing 407 Olleh.
I have this Olleh, and then installed Streakmod recovery (0.3.8), rooted with superuser.zip, made nandroid backups, and tried to follow: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1355878
(where I can't post...)
what I get is: [
(...)
Opening update package Longhorn_2.8.zip
E: Can't open /sdcard/Longhorn_2.8.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted
]
I tried "wipe data/ factory reset", also the factory reset (after a reboot), wipe cache partition, wipe dalbik cache, fixed premissions
still the same result
Could it be due to limited space (200MB) left on SD card (4GB size)?
in this case how do I remove old nandroid backups?
thanks
I made a grave mistake today, I wiped everything in my internal sd card. Now it won't boot anymore. It is just booting from the galaxy s2 logo. I followed the guide in the the wiki of cyanogenmod
The part where i made a mistake is in the "Place the CyanogenMod update.zip file on the root of the SD card." I thought that the root of the sd card is in my external microsd card. So I proceeded and put the update.zip in the microsd card.. Then I did Wipe data/factory reset and Wipe cache partition. After that I tried to find the update.zip but can't find it anywhere.
So I rebooted my galaxy s2, then bang it won't start anymore. It just loops in the galaxy s2 logo part.
So I searched google and found out that I wiped everything in my internal sd card including the stock galaxy s2 software. i made the biggest mistake of the year.
I mistakenly put the cm9 in my external sd card.. The clockwork mod can't read the external sd card. So now i'm stock with a brick galaxy s2
Please help me. I just started this rooting thing and now my galaxy s2 is bricked.
I know the odin application can help me flash a new rom. But i don't know where to proceed. What rom should I download?
If i can install a custom rom using odin i know this can help me fix my problem.
Please guide me. im begging all of you.
Can you still put your phone in download mode? if you can, then you can probably install stock rom.after that you can root your phone again. have you tried intratech's thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
Sounds to me like you didn't flash a proper kernel. You'll get stuck at the boot logo if that happens.

I would advise you use odin to flash a stock rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 use this to download a stock rom / root it. Then you can flash any rom after that!
I deleted my internal on purpose
You say Clockwork Mod can't recognise your External SD card, so i presume you can get into recovery?. if you're running a custom recovery like Clockwork and you can get in to recovery you'll be ok.
Dl a custom rom (checkrom) or kernel which supports external sd card, (like siyah or something) Connect your phone to your pc, and boot into recovery. Go to storage options in recovery and mount your phone. Your internal memory should be available to view in your pc. Copy across the file(s) you downloaded and Install the zip. The custom rom will bring you back to speed, or the custom kernel will allow you to flash whatever you had on your External SD to begin with. I recommend the rom flash though.
There should be plenty of help regarding Odin in the forums. Let us know how you get on.

If you wiped internal sd card you need to remove and replace battery enter download mode and flash a stock rom via ODIN .As you have wiped the entire OS so phone cannot boot to something that no longer exists .
Any stock rom will recover your phone logic says use one for your location .

Happy to help, and good to hear it worked out
This is how you learn about custom roms, i think its good to get a bootloop etc. because it forces you to try troubleshoot and increases your knowledge.
and also if you can get into CWM recovery then thats generally a good sign and things can be recovered from there.
glad everything worked for you.

I doubt that adding some ringtones to your /system/media folder from your PC would result in a non-boot condition. Sounds like you may have messed up some system files when you were doing what you were doing. Are you sure you did not inadvertently move/delete/alter any other files?

I have a similar problem and I know I am not bricked but can't currently get out of my jam. This is the process I used so far:
I unlocked bootloaders and rooted with an automatic script program
I installed superuser and CWM from the market
I placed the cm-7.2.0-olympus and gapps .zip files in my root of internal sd
I wiped with moto-fastboot followed by wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, and Dalvik
Then I installed the CM7.2 and Gapps zip files from the sd - and now I'm stuck at the M boot screen with Unlocked at the top.
I can boot into recovery and at the top of the recovery screen it reads Atrix 4G Recovery v4.0.0.2 goapk.com so I am thinking that the script I used initially installed a different recovery program and I am not actually using CWM. Also when I get into fastboot mode it says my battery is too low to flash and I don't have an indication that the battery is accepting a charge when it is plugged in...
I can get into recovery but even if I wipe and reinstall the zip I can't get past the boot loop - any suggestions?

I think that tenfar recovery that you flashed through automatic script. You can just get rom racer recovery flash it through fast boot or Just download this recovery and flash it like any ROM and reboot.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1659890

Try to flash your phone with your stock firmware using rsd lite
here a list of firmwares ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1125944
WARNING! : flash it with YOUR stock sbf !!!
OR
Flash the latest sbf for your phone. I've done several with no problems. Yes, you do lose the unlocked bootloader though.
This will return you to stock. I used the same files.
You can avoid bricking your device by not flashing any over-the-air updates to Android 2.3.4. Instead, try flashing the 2.3.4 zip over here. Or, flash the pure stock images from here.
Worked!

have you tried to flash any other roms? and make sure smart flash is enabled when trying to flash your rom?, or you can re-partition your device with 4EXT then use the "toggle usb" to mount your sd card and place the rom on there then try and flash it
Had that issue with a friend. Your internal storage is corrupted. Toggle USB and go on your computer. Right click the internal SD and format it. Restart recovery and it will be good to go.

here's a way to return to stock RUU, you need the all-in-one toolkit from hasoon2000
download this file Here and rename it to PH85IMG.zip (this file is for ICS) the older one for GB didnt work for me
use the "Relock Bootloader" command on hasoon's toolkit to relock your bootloader (i received a security warning when doing so, but still worked)
place the PH85IMG.zip file on the root of your SD Card
turn off device and remove the battery. Reinsert the battery then simultaneously hold the volume down and power buttons (to boot fastboot)
Fastboot will detect the image file on your external storage. After it loads, accept the "update" - this will revert you to stock (including recovery and radio).

I'm probably coming too late, but I ran into this issue before. It's because I flashed a new Rom, and rebooted my phone before finishing the initial setup. You have to get passed that first and get to the home screen, or the internal sd card doesn't get partitioned properly. Did you do something similar to this?
In any case, I wish you luck!

Hi guys,
I basically wiped my phone and completely forgot to copy the ROM I wanted to flash into my ext SD card. Now, the phone has no ROM to boot into and I need to be able to mount it onto Windows from within the recovery to be able to do it. I'm running CWM 6.0.2.7
Has anyone ever done this? What should I do?
Thanks
Wipe data doesn't mean format (like PC) it's just a factory reset
you can flash any official FW for your device by Odin
So it isn't possible for Windows to detect the phone in any way so I can copy the ROM into it?
It's possible by using ADB and push it
but why you don't boot up your device and copy it?
Use adb to push the file onto the card. Or remove ext. SD card and use a reader to copy it over.
Here is a good adb interface, it has easy push/pull where you just supply the two file paths and hit go,

Anyone has any clue why this would be happening?

The ROM? Just did and the same thing happens, boots up to Samsun Galaxy logo, then that "eye" logo then reboots again into CWM. At all times.
I just installed Omega just to try it out and it works, boots into the ROM, with Foxhound it doesn't even reach the Foxhound Logo, it reboots and goes back to CWM... Any ideas? I can't post in the Foxhound thread due to lack of posts

Yes, two times already. Then rooted, then flashed CWM Recovery then wiped data etc, flashed foxhound and same thing happens. Tried Omega and it boots into it, it's only Foxhound and I really wanted to try it...
I'm sorry this thread has derailed into another issue but thought it wasn't worth cluttering with yet another thread.
Is it possible to shut down the phone from CWM Recovery aside from doing a battery pull?
Could be a bad download. Try downloading again.
