Which is the best modem for Brazil using TIM SP ?
SGA S5830.

The best one ? I think, its already installed on your Ace.
Except your Ace has feature Gigabit SFP, Flux Capacitor as battery replacement hhhhhh
The S5830BVJKPE, it's the latest baseband for Brazil.

If you are on Stock ROM then Kies should allow you to install the latest official KF3 firmware. Anyway, you can flash it via Odin too, here is the firmware link,

And change your Language to English UK from English US under Settings- Language and Keyboard.
Regards.

Hey Guys
I am currently using the Samsung Galaxy S2 in India
Current Version
Firmware : 2.3.5
baseband xxki1
kernel xxki3
build batista70 2.1 xxki3
In this config, i am unable to use any kernel apart from the CF root and the speedmod
Is it possible for me to use a different modem and baseband altogether. Or will that not be possible for the Indian version of the SGS2.
Will changing that lead to no connections or some other issues?
Kindly help or advice as to how to use other kernels if the above is not an option
Bump. Please Help Guys.
Please Help Me. I am feeling restless for a custom kernel.

If your GS2 is the global version (I9100) then yes, you can flash any I9100 modem or kernel you like. There shouldn't be any connection issues.

hi,i had the same problem with my gt9100 then i tried the siyah 2.1.1 kernel, and it works,no need to change modem
My friend bough a new Ace and it came with a 832Mhz CPU. He says that it is the S5839 instead of the S5830 PDA.
could it be the galaxy ace S5830i?
Can he make screenshoot of about phone?
when he dials *#1234#
S5839iBULC1 PDA
S5839iTCLLB2 CSC
and the processor is @832Mhz
Android 2.3.6
And the baseband?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using my hands
Yeah this is a really rare version of the ace, somebody had it in a different thread, it does have a 832Mhz CPU (not sure if its just overclocked or a different CPU.
Its just a variant of the s5830i AFAIK
Can I ask where you got the phone from?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using my hands
I think it is the Dual Sim version of Ace http://android.com.pl/news/sprzet/4...artfon-obsugujcy-2-karty-sim-jednoczenie.html (sorry of PL)
It's not rare version of Ace. It's just S5830i. It has BCM21553 ThunderbirdEDN31 Cpu clocked at 312.0 ~ 832mhz. Also Broadcom VideoCore IV HW Gpu.
No visual differences so far. Also it has lower apps compatibility compared to S5830, and GPU benchmark is a lot lower. So S5830 for the win.

He bought at the local Vodafone store. One week after mine or so, and I have the 800Mhz 2.3.5, and he got the 832Mhz 2.3.6 that's why I was wondering.

Hi,
I'm from Malaysia/Singapore and I think the stock rom for my SGS2's modem is DXLPB, there's a new NeatRom now: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29127240&postcount=5138, that's for UHLPS.
Will the UHLPS rom be good on my phone? will it impact battery life?or should I wait till another ROM is released for singapore region?
thanks!
Should work

It really depends on the hardware used by your Telco. Some modems works better than others on different locations. UHLPG is now used in the latest NeatRom available (UHLPS was bad for me), UHLPG works pretty good here (I am in Argentina), but in your zone could be different. Please try it out and let us know. If not, you could flash DXLPB over, there is no harm in doing it with any rom.
Good evening, ive purchase an s3 !9300 here in my country ( El salvador, Central America), i was able to root the phone and play with a bit but now i whould like to update the rom to jelly bean since im quite sure that we wont get that update officially soon enogh haha, so i was wondering if its ok to flash one of the recently released roms with jelly bean, i was thinking on the unbranded from UK that came out a few days ago. so it will save to flash that rom on my cell phone from latin america?
It's Safe dude you can flash any rom on your galaxy, you just need to be sure that you own an GT - i9300
An advice, check what modem ver have your phone, some modems work properly in some areas and others simply don't

The modem version is found on Configuración -- Acerca de -- Versión de Banda Base .. That is the modem..
I'm from Venezuela and I have my S3 on UK firmware without problem. But if you have problem with the signal strength you can find the modem here at XDA and flashing again.
