(Bricked) Samsung galaxy s showcase on c spire - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have severely bricked my phone, I've tried everything from flashing different CWM recoveries to flashing all the available ROMS for this device.
No matter what I do it reboots into CWM and gives me the following error
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
If someone could help me get back to stock or get me out of this bootloop I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.

Sounds like you're in the wrong recovery you didn't 3 finger did you?
You need to Odin.
Sent from my Glitched AOKP Unicorn.

That's how I've gotten CWM on there, I used Odin to flash 4.0.1.0 and 2.5.1 and 3 something.

i have the same issue as the guy mentioned above after i flashed my nephews 2 deactivated phones they use like gameboys and ipods they used to be mine and were originally running a rooted cspire gingerbread release. i flashed cmw4_cm7 onto them and flashed the new aokp build 40 for showcasemtd and it worked fine on one phone but the other well its been a headache it booted once just fine then when i went to backup the rom it went into those errors and at first a bootloop then it went to repeatedly entering into recovery over and over no matter what i tried. im guessing i need to odin in with a stock pit and rom to try fixing it huh? i have never had this much trouble flashing especially not with my gnexus
nvm I managed to find a pit and stock rom (well actually a stock vzw rom) then went back and redid the process and it took
thanks though

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! thanks (post 4)
did you try to flash the kb1+voodoo kernel only? Thought they said if you just flashed the kernel back instead of the whole rom you'd be good to go.
uh, nope.. i messed that up now though.. "/ it boots me directly to stock 2e recovery now.. it gives me that error
Your partitions aren't mounting, that's why you're getting that error. You need to odin to jfd with reparation checked and then install whatever Rom you want.

HELP!! MYTOUCH 4G HTC due to Recovery Problems

My Phone MYTOUCH 4G HTC, is locked when opening. And in opening screen its locked. "ClockwokMod Recovery v5.0.2.0" is opening and phone gives some messages like "E:Cant mount /cache/recovery/command", " E:Cant mount /cache/recovery/log" i have attached photos of lost files. I need help with this file. Waiting for all of yours kindly regards...
This is an issue with the eMMc chip. The MT4G was sent with 2 chips, a good and a bad one. I am assuming you rooted with G-free, since this is the only way to root with a bad chip. Eventually that chip fails. You are most likely bricked, but you can try to load a stock RUU (PD15IMG) through Hboot found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059347 It is a long shot but has worked for a few people in the past. Good luck.
Try version 4 of cwm if it doesn't work

E:Can't open /cache/recover/log CWM Help?

Hello, I don't mean to sound like a noob here, but I am in need of some assistance. I just flashed SHOstock2 RC5 , did a wipe data/factory reset in CWM and dalvik-cache wipe before the flash. I booted up, decided I did not like it, so I went into CWM to restore from a backup. When I get into CWM and try to click any option, I get the message :
E:can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:can't open /cache/recovery/log/last_log
E:can't open /cache/recovery/log/last_log
I can not select ANY option without this message coming up. I searched around looking for a answer, but the best I could find is something about a eMMC chip being fried. Can anyone please help? I hope I didn't screw up my phone too bad. My phone is just sitting in CWM as I really dont know if I should turn it off, take out the battery ect... Thanks for the help!
you did a wipe data / factory reset.....
it wipes /cache partition
there is nothing wrong. restore your backup and move along
I usually just wipe cache and it goes away

dafuq? What the hell did you flash to cause an HTC logo on a Samsung device?
I can't think of any way to do this without hardbricking, unless you flashed some wacky firmware that put an HTC bootanimation file on a Samsung device.

i would love to know what they did to get an HTC rom on a samsung device also....LOL
must have done a google search for the error string.. his other "2" posts are on the sensation forum..
This was the closest thread I could find, so...
Every time I wipe data/factory reset, everything formats except for the last part.
"Error mounting /sdcard/ .android_secure!
Skipping format...
Data wipe complete"
What does this mean? And should I be worried?

I'm having the same E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log problem. I've rebooted countless times but the error is still there. What can I do to fix this?
Wipe cache always gets rid of the error for me. See if it works for you.

Except in order to get another cwm on this device you need to flash a whole new kernel.

[Q] Fascinate won't boot. Possible brick?

I just picked one up off of eBay. When I plugged it in it would show the battery up to 100% but it would not turn on or anything. Did a little research on here and decided to try to put it back to stock following this post(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238070) Now after I hit start it runs as though its looking good however it hangs on the movinand.bin part. Now note I have no idea what was on this phone so any questions like that wont work. Just looking for a little tidbits to get me on my way to AOKP 4.0.4 thank you in advance!
I tried following the steps from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540809 to start fresh and it passed however now it just flashes SGH-T959D and Samsung on my screen and still will not power on.
To add, I was able to get it back to the download screen but would still hang at the movinand.bin file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

You need to use Heimdall Suite.

I also tried to attempt that last night but could not find the files to put into it. Do you happen to know where they are?

I did the heimdall(eh03) and was finally able to get it to android recovery however i got a few errors. It said this as it popped up "E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2" I also tried to odin it however after i add the .pit and pda files, and click re-partition it just goes to all threads complete. Also, i hit reboot system now in the android menu and it started to boot up, but at the verizon logo it stayed there for a minute then went back to the Galaxy S animation.
What does that mean?
EDIT:
One more quick update. Im trying to get to AOKP, I tried to odin after all of this and it appears to still hang on movinand.bin. here is what I am following: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238070
Anyone? I tried a Samsung Droid charge cord with odin and it still failed at movinand.bin. can anyone help me here?

Did you go into recovery after restoring it to stock without first booting it up? If so there's your problem.
I cant get it to boot right after stock. If I hold the power button, it does nothing, I have to plug it in to the ac cord then it just shows the battery and wont do anything.
After the EH03 reboot, I plug it in, goes to android recovery and get this error.
"E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2" If I data wipe, I get this, Formatting Data...
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
formatting /dbdata...
fotmatting /cache...
data wipe complete
E:failed to mount /preinstall (No such file or directory)
