I want to use the media dock as a simple charger/bedside alarm clock. However, when I plug it in, it disables the Phone speaker. I want the phone speaker to work! I'm using neutrino rom. Is there an easy way to do this? I tried the morrisoft hdmi switcher but it didn't work.
Thanks.

Instead of condescension, why don't you try offering polite advice?
For example: "You should post these kinds of threads in the Q&A fora instead of in 'General.'"
@OP - make sure to post all questions in Q&A. Thanks!
Apologies for posting in the wrong forum. It was not my intention.
As an addition to my first post.... it appears that alarms and ringtones work while docked in the media dock but all sounds considered media get routed through the dock. YouTube, music, and videos all cannot be heard unless the dock is plugged into an external speaker. Anybody have any ideas on how to override this?

I've installed the leaked version of Gingerbread on my Galaxy S and now I'm having trouble with the sound.
When I call or receive calls from someone I cannot hear anything but the other person CAN.
When I play a video I can see it but I cannot hear it.
When I try to play a song with Mortplayer I cannot hear anything.
BUT when I set the ringtone settings or the phones volume I can hear everything. I can even preview the songs I want to use as ringtones.
Can anyone assist? I really need to be able to make/receive calls ASAP. I'm currently applying for several job offers and waiting for a response.
Insane development to this matter. When I plug the headphone on the Galaxy S I can hear the sound through the SPEAKERS!!! If I pull the headphone jack out there's the speakers stop playing the sound again.
it seems you haven't read the OP in the gingerbread i9k port threads because this is a known issue with them and there is a toggle headset widget that "fixes" this.
Would you happen to have the link for it?

Could you at least point me in the thread's direction? The original leaked gingerbread thread was deleted so I really don't know which thread do you mean.
Hi everybody!
I really wonder how you guys use your phone in the car for navigation and as a musicplayer?
I use Navigon and the standart music app. The problem is that the music app is at least the same volumelevel as the navigation or even louder.
In my opinion we should be able to set the volume for each app individually but so far i have no idea how to get that done?
The only solution so far is for some music apps that they would mute the music if somthing else (like the navigation) plays sounds. But i think all apps capable to do that aren't free.
So i really like to hear your solutions
Cheers

Firstly, I want to apologise if this question has been asked before, and if I have asked it in the wrong forum.
I've spent a fair amount of time searching these forums (and the web) for similar questions to mine and I've yet to find one that addresses it properly - I know I may have missed it somewhere, so like I say, I apologise if it has been.
I'd like to know if there is a standalone app that allows me to control the volume levels for the individual left and right headphones. The reason is, I use my phone as a player all day at work and because I work on building sites etc I only ever wear one headphone (the right-hand side) and the left hand side is always left hanging down. As a result, whatever I am listening to also obviously plays out of the left headphone meaning those around me hear it too, and because I have bad hearing in my right ear I have to have the volume up to max. I was hoping there would be an app that lets me mute the left headphone so as I don't annoy those around me with my music and podcasts.
It would have to be a standalone app as I listen to podcasts using BeyondPod and then use Google Music for my music listening, as well as Audible occasionally for audiobooks.
I use an HTC Desire HD rooted with CM7 installed, if that helps.
Any help with this would be hugely appreciated, and I thank you in advance for your time.
Simon

Hello,
I am not a developer but this is a feature I believe would be nice to implement and haven't seen in custom roms I have tried. One of my biggest annoyances with android are the notification sounds. If I'm listening to music, I would still like the sound to play, but not completely drown out my music in the process.
Ideally the notification sound should play at a lower volume (say %25) over my music.
I would like to bump this thread. I'm looking for a way to set myself up with what OP has asked for and hoping someone out there knows of something.
I know I used to have this functionality on at least one Rom of CM7 I ran on previous phone (Mytouch 3G slide).
Being able to play notifications over music without pausing it would be good, better still would be the option to make the notification quieter, or the music quieter. Anything would be better than pausing the music for the notification!
There could be a way to force sound ducking when you get a notification, instead of pausing whatever media is playing. That would most likely need to be a ROM tweak though, might help ask a developer for your phone.

Moving to Q&A
Hi everyone,
I have an issue which I have seen in other forums and is driving me crazy. I recently installed a Dice Mediabridge in my car and when I am using it in Sirius mode with the phone connected to it via bluetooth the music will be interupted whenever there is an incoming phone call and won't resume until the call is ended. However, if I am in Sirius mode and using Google Navigation, no such interuption occurs. I would believe that this is because the Nav is considered Media Audio, which is not programed to interrupt the way that phone audio is. Is there a way to trick the phone into sending the Navigation voice audio through the phone channel instead of the media channel? I mean yes I could simply use a separate bluetooth headset in situations where I need to use the Nav to go somewhere, but it just seems to me that this integration should be easily possible but it is not. Thanks in advance !!

I definitely realize this thread is old/dead, but I hate threads that end with no resolution.
What if someone else is experiencing the same or similar problem?
Try AudioBT Plus from the Google Playstore.
The Dev TurboLED may also have a thread here on XDA.
This eloquently solved the problem for me.
Good Luck
