Hi, im new here. I bought a gsm razr xt910 a few days ago and new problems are popping out every day.
During my razr reached, i noticed that the screen are very yellow compared to my bro's razr and i thought it will be gone after a few days but it doesnt.
And then my power button started to become unresponsive and i have to apply much more pressure to get it clicked. The power button sank deeper inside compared to another razr.
Later, my wifi is having some issues, it will only work when I am few meters away from my wireless router.
And lastly my screen got sratched and i know gorrilla glass is not scratch proof but i doesnt expecting my phone was scratched that fast. I never even placed it on any surface that will damage the screen.
I told the local distributor about all my problems and they do not offer me one to one exchange. What should i do now?
Try contacting Motorola maybe you'll have some luck with them.

Do brightstar offer one to one exchange? Cause I called them and they said only will repair for me and not one to one exchange

So ive had my eris for about a year now. And now when i plug the usb in to charge the phone, the touchscreen goes all wacky. The phone basically loses full functionality. The light up buttons dont function, you have to try multiple times to get the screen to recognize your finger swipes, etc. If you press on the plastic of the phone around the trackball/usb port the phone goes wacky on screen clicking stuff itsself.
Im guessing something is weirding out with the connections in that area or something making the phone do stuff itsself. I bought the phone from a person online about a year ago, would HTC covery this faultyness of the phone? If so how would i go about the process/how long does it take, etc. Are there any home remedies(taking apart the phone and doing something, etc.)?
Thanks
Bump. My bros Eris does the same. Plug it in and the screen will go all the way to the left and select things. Would really like to see an answer to this

Mine does the same. I have noticed that if you unplug it and hit the end call button twice to turn the screen off and then on that it behaves again.
Does not matter which ROM I use, I see the same behaviour.

Well my phone started scrolling by itself when on the charger. I googled it and apparently the charger port is messing with the trackball. I called verizon and have a warranty replacement on the way.
To emerica243, sorry to say you have no warranty on the phone since you didn't buy it from verizon so your kind stuck unless you have insurance on it, then you could just file a claim. You'll have to pay the deductible but its cheaper than buying a new phone.
To everyone with this problem that bought from verizon, I suggest calling verizon and getting it replaced. I also suggest reverting your phone to stock just in case (see sticky in development forum).

This. It is a known hardware issue that HTC didn't forsee happening where the trackball sensors aren't quite insulated enough and make contact with the charger sleeve when it is plugged in. It will escalate to a permanent problem and there isn't a solution except to take the phone back in to Verizon and have it replaced. I'm on my second Eris because of this problem.

So I started having major issues with my Rezound about a week ago and was sent a replacement. I was having data issues on my first one and the replacement solved that issue but the "new" ones screen would randomly turn solid blue and flicker upon unlock. So now I'm on my second replacement and am pretty pissed off-it gets blistering hot and the battery dies super quick.
Verizon is sending me a new one again but I'm getting pretty frustrated with the issues I've been having. They offered to give me a different phone but I really want the Rezound. I might consider the Nexus or Maxx but feel like both are inferior phones.
What would you guys do if the third replacement (fourth overall) still has problems?

I just got my second replacement (third rezound) and This one will be getting shipped back on Tuesday. If this new one has any troubles I think I'm going to grab either a Maxx or a Nexus. I'm leaning towards the Maxx. Every Moto phone I've had on my account has lasted forever. I still have 1 OG droid laying around, 2 X's and an X2. All still functioning.

The blue screen problem, was that on stock? Only seen that on leaked kernels.

Yes blue screen was on a stock replacement from HTC/Verizon straight out of the box. You can see some of the lock screen sometimes with the blue and also it will split the screen into two identical screens with the blue. Very strange.

Girlfriends X2 has started to call and text randomly ? It happens when just siiting on the counter on seat of her car. Not when charging (I know 3rd party chargers have caused problems in the past with other Moto devices).
Any Ideas on what could be causing this ?
Thanks in advance !
About a year ago my phone was doing the same thing. I was having "phantom touches" where the phone took on a mind of its own and started doing whatever it pleased. My solution was to replace the SD card. I dunno if it will work for your girlfriend but if you have an extra card lying around, its a pretty easy troubleshoot. Goodluck

I've heard of that if the screen is or has gotten wet.
Maybe you've got ghosts? But no seriously i've heard what tallyforeman stated above me also.
When I'm at work and make call sometimes my sweat from hair causes this.

I don't know if she has gotton the screen wet ? I checked the indicator in the battery compartment and it was fine.
I'm going to suggest to her changing the sd card ( I don't see how it could help , but its worth a try)
I'm thinking a good cleaning of the screen and a new protector may help.
Thanks everyone for you ideas. If you have anymore please shoot them out as Verizon is not being any help to her.
Screen Protectors can certainly cause this. Seen it a lot. They are of dubious need on gorilla class screens. Though they can help keep the finger prints down.
Ok so last night at dinner we were messing around and she sends me a text and it comes threw 5 minutes later and 3x I sent her a text back again 5 minutes but she receives it 2x . This phone is friggin screwy . I'm leaning towards the screen protector but could it also cause the above to happen ?
Not a solution but an app called call confirm is always on my list of apps to install with a fresh rom.

Did this problem ever get solved?
No it hasn't . My advice to her was to start badgering Verizon for a new phone.
I have 3 issues with my current phone.
1- It has a bright spot on the screen. I'm not sure if it is a bright pixel or what but it only glares when I am on a white screen and it is about the size of a period.
2- My speakerphone sounds blown... it crackles every time i use it.
3- My phone takes 8+ hours to charge no matter what charger I am using. OEM or not.
Now. Do you feel any of those issues would get a replacement? I do not have insurance but my phone is still under warranty since I got mine in February.
Try a program called dead pixel test(market) and then tell Verizon your results. I always run my refurb phones through a battery of tests.
To your last? Are you rooted? If so change kernels and or calibrate your battery and steal your kids chargers and test.good luck
PS I gave you a free txs

Not rooted.
The dead pixel test puts that black menu bar at the bottom of the screen.... and that is where the issue is.

Went ahead and took it into Verizon and they plugged it in to see what it did but that didn't matter as soon as the chick saw the spot on the screen she ordered my replacement.
A lot easier than I expected and whole lot easier than things were with T-mobile.

I've always had good experiences with Verizon like that. Normally the most I've seen the do is check for water damage. They're usually very understanding and don't mind helping out if they can. That's why I love big red!
So I have a similar screen issue, but mine is a blue haze in the middle of the screen. Also been having the SIM card error problem. I called VZW today and they're sending me one of the certified like new devices. However, they did mention if there was any damage to the phone I would be charged $299. I mentioned that the plastic cover over the charging port had broken off like day 2 I had the phone. She said she's not sure if that would or would not be considered enough damage to charge the fee. Has anyone sent it back with the broken cover and had any issues being charged?
These are the terms for a certified like new device as written up by Droid-Life.

Verizon has been good about replacements. Sadly I am on my third. First one had a broken headphone jack, replacement had a stuck pixel, and now I'm hoping for no more problems haha.

My phone appears to be shot. Is this a hardware issue? When plugged into the computer, it recognizes the phone, but I can't access any files.
Here is a picture of what the screen looks like. Is this phone shot, or fixable?

Out of curiosity, did the two phones that did this have the recent OTA update installed?
Nope, I have not done an OTA update in months. It's been working temperamentally all night. I was able to recover and flash a new ROM, and still, same problem. Guessing it's a hardware problem, not a software problem.

Anyway to get at that cable in this phone?
That exact thing happened to my device about 3 weeks ago. Sprint replaced the screen for $50. When I powered it up the screen was unresponsive. Turned out that I had an older twrp with a new touch panel. Even though the screen was all full of snow the touch panel was working and I ended up
wiping my system. What an ordeal! My device is working perfect now, it's definitely your screen. Good luck!

If you know how to take the phone apart.. but it would be best to take to sprint.. you will need to try to get the screen back on to run a ruu to unroot the phone..

Not hard to take the phone apart but, for $50 bucks they said if it wasn't the screen they would give me a new device. They won't know it's rooted till they fire it up. The guy that helped me didn't care that it was rooted, it's hardware failure. His EVO was rooted lol

Nearest sprint store is 200 miles away from my school... I called and they said to call HTC, it will be covered by them, not by Sprint.
Pressing in the lower left of the screen usually gets it to come back on though.

I had this issue. Give it time and it should go back . I was at the Sprint store and then the screen came back. Is your phone hot?

Id say it is your touch screen drivers. I have had the same issue when they first dropped. I doubt your LCD would be doing that. If it does fix the issue, then you got a different model touchscreen/lcd.
EDIT: Just read your post about it returning to normal by pressing on the screen. So it does sound like there are some issues, and probably need to get the screen replaced. See what options you have with sprint as it is probably out of warranty with htc anyways. Most shops would charge 100-150 to replace it probably.
I believe it is standard policy for Sprint to charge $50 to fix or replace the device if it can't be fixed. It's not a bad deal, my gf's device had a dead spot and they replaced the screen for $50. You will pay about that for a screen on the internet if you replace it your self. Your only problem is the distance to travel and in my case they had to order the screen so I activated my OG till the part came in. The $50 will guarantee you will get a working device.

HTC will replace it for free, I bought the phone from Sprint in March, so it's still in the 1 year warranty even though it was actually manufactured in August.
The strange thing I'm noticing now, is that sometimes the screen goes static, but when I press in that corner, the screen comes back, but it is frozen. The phone seems to freeze a lot now as well.
HTC will replace it for free, I bought the phone from Sprint in March, so it's still in the 1 year warranty even though it was actually manufactured in August. Annoying thing is it takes a minimum of 2 weeks, and I am waiting on a few important calls in the next few weeks. I'm going to buy a used phone on ebay, and then sell it when I'm done.
The strange thing I'm noticing now, is that sometimes the screen goes static, but when I press in that corner, the screen comes back, but it is frozen. The phone seems to freeze a lot now as well. When it's frozen, if I turn the screen off then back on, the static is back. Which almost seems software related. Strange problem.
Update. HTC says the phone is out of warranty and quoted me $290 for repair. I'm guessing this is because I left it S-off? Even though it is clearly a hardware issue...
My next question, is it worth buying a screen online and replacing that, or does the fault go deeper? I can handle the screen replacement, but if there is more wrong, then that is $50 wasted.
