This is definitely good to know!
can we make a nandroid of ICS and revert back to that?
Is it safe from design gears and dagr8? Just wondering because one says it doesn't change basebands and the other i haven't found where it mentions it

thanks for the effort but dont do that.
after some reading, designgears .exe leak changes everything INCLUDING flashing ics bootloaders. if you read dag8s op he uses gingerbread bootloaders with ics on top to allow you to restore back to a gingerbread backup seamlessly.
Otherwise you will have to manually flash gb bootloaders

my guess is downloading the ODIN version of the stock gingerbread, and then flashing it through ODIN.
I take no responsibility if you brick your device though.

Never take an ota when you are rooted, thats the rule of thumb. It won't hurt now because both versions of the hboot are unlockable using revolutionary, but i would suggest flashing a rom that's based off the ota.

Because your stock rooted. If you were running a custom rom you wouldnt, but on the stock system everything is the same except for root access and whatever you saw fit to change.
am I correct in assuming that there isn't any custom rom yet for the evo 3d yet. I'm on the temp perm root
There are already quite a few custom roms on the Dev page already, and it's still below 24 hours since unlock and root. Read the [ROM] posts and chose one to flash, after you Revolutionize.

Yes like he said this time is ok. We don't know if the bootloaders will change in the future though, so you can update to get back to the newest and start using custom roms from there.
Personally if I can stay stock rooted and just keep using the HTC updates I would.

sweet, thanks! are you planning on staying stock?
I've been reading a lot of threads about the ups and downs of ics, I'm yet to flash it and might stay on gb for a little while especially since I've been reading threads were people have tried to go back to gb and weren't able to do to either user error or otherwise. I'm wondering if the gb development will lose support do to ics being out, I'm sure it will especially once ics becomes more stable across the board.

I find ICS alot more enjoyable than GB even if it's just a leak : it's stable enough to be a daily rom, and I work alot with my phone.

I've used both extensively. I've been on ICS for months on my atrix. That's the biggest thing i disliked about switching to the note. Oh, and no notification light!

The one click ICS leak is a stock image. It formats the ENTIRE internal SD card. You will lose everything including root and recovery.

If you flash through Odin it formats your drive and no root. But it's not an issue to root it. However if you flash the.collectives basic build or dagr8 build through cwm you'll have.root, and it'll be debloated

What I am trying to say overall is that I have read about less issues with phones who did the following:
1) Install one click Odin Leak (reboot and let it all set up of course)
2) Install CWM Recovery via Odin
3) Flash Dag or Collective ICS ROM
These steps will give you all the components of ICS (including bootloaders etc), CWM, rooted and debloated.
There does seem to be one person who can't get back to GB after doing this. But there are multiple threads in the QA section which show otherwise. I have not tried going back to GB yet, as I am giddy every time I use my phone now. ICS has brought it to another level. No way I am ever looking back, especially with something from the Collective on the way.
I installed and rooted ICS very easily
now i wish i hadnt , My ICS is wayyyyyyyy to buggy for me, i get alot of FC's and reboots, wish i had waited and now want to go back to GB but im just going to wait out the bugginess till a more stable rom comes out. I can say when ICS is running good it is way smoother than GB but that isnt too often with me but good news is the collective has something cooking up and should only be a little bit before changing out this leaked rom !!!
just my $.02

forgive me for being a dumb a$$ but I'm slightly confused about the steps you posted. Wouldn't step 2 have to come first, and i thought the Odin one click was the ics rom (step 3)? Here's what I've done to my phone. Rooted, installed cwm and completed a cwm back up, i than downloaded ics from the picture in the dev section onto my phone. From this point would all i have to do is go into cwm and flash my downloaded ics and would that sort of be your 1,2,3 steps? Sorry for not fully understanding.

I found a rom on this forum I want to try out, but it does not explicitly say it is for the Rezound.
However according to this site, http://tips4droid.com/top-5-custom-rom-for-htc-rezound/ , the rom is compatibile.
The Rom that was listed can be located here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964841
and is about halfway down the page, 7.0.4.
Has anyone tried this Rom on the Rezound with success?
If not this Rom then which did you have success with?
I have already done the following:
Unlock Bootloader
Install Amon Ra -> SuperUser and su
nandroid backup (deleted after reading about a problem with restoring S-ON)
S-OFF (the method is a pain, but it does work)
nandroid backup
tested nandroid backup (worked flawlessly)
So now I am looking to get Android Revolution HD running as it has stock UI and improvements.
I'm fairly certain that this is not a Rezound ROM.

I was reading somewhere that four htc models use the same GB version, and with this being sensation, which I have held in my hand and looked through, case is almost the same and the OS was similar so I am not sure if I should just try it and see or not.
What is the worst that could happen?
I have a nandroid to restore if I get into trouble, but I am still worried I may need a Stock Rom to restore that to...

The worst that could happen is you brick your phone.
Be warned that GB development for the most part is dead now, CleanRom 1.7.5 and Ineffabilis 1.4 are good GB options though.
Cleanrom looks right and sounds lightweight, but the other has my attention with the extras, have you had experience with both?
Bricking is my first concern, not being able to restore stock Rom my second...
I would go with 4.0 or 4.1, but I like how the lockscreen and phone key UI look on the stock Rom and themes do not look as good...

I've used them both and they are both solid roms, I'd have to go with Ineffabilis as my favorite of the two.
Neither one is really supported any though, Scott who made CleanRom went to another phone, Chingy who made Ineffabilis is now supporting a ICS based version of the rom - Ineffabilis Deus. That's the one I currently use.

Just make sure you have a nandroid back up and you wipe all the internal filesystems before installing. If you don't like it, it's easy to wipe again and just restore your original rom. One of the great things about nandroid, it lets you try out different roms and easily revert back.

If you're s-off, the rom installer should have installed a new kernel for you. If you're familiar with fastboot, you can extract the boot.img from the rom file and flash it.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Otherwise, try installing the rom again.
