Hello, I have a problem with restoring original SE rom, and it is not because I don't have an USB cable, but rather something wrong has happened to USB socket in the phone. I am able to charge (sometimes) phone, but computer doesn't see any device. X10 is still on warranty and I'd to return it to service, but I'm afraid that they could reject it because of custom rom...
My configuration:
Rom: Wolf_Xperia_7.0.0s
Android version: 2.3.3
Kernel (stock): 2.6.29-00054-g5f01537 [email protected] # 1
Baseband: 2.1.71
I have also installed xRecovery 0.3 on this phone before and maybe this tool could be used to restore original rom?
EDIT: I think I found proper tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054818
EDIT2: Now I'm looking for nandroid/recovery backup for Baseband 2.1.71.
About a month ago my device was like yours and suddenly it went to a way that USB didn't charge it either pc didn't recognize it,
Then I have bought a new USB cable and from that time it works properly good.
For changing rom you must access your SD to put the rom's zip file there and then flash it with xrecovery..

if u wanna claim your warranty, u should repair/update phone via SEUS..
I mean ur phone should be totally clean
no any recovery
unrooted
all stock...
but try comment no 2 suggestion first
if you found nandroid backup also, maybe SE will findout recovery system on ur phone
Ok, I used stock rom from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192152 and tutorial from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054818
It seems that Master Uninstaller script for Android 2.1 works also with 2.3.3. The only uknown was if chargemon from this package will work with Android 2.3.3, but it looks like that everything is fine. This script is removing xrecovery, su, charger and other stuff from xbin.
I think that now my X10i is ready to send to warranty service.
EDIT: Btw. I tried another USB cable but no changes, only charging works.
Just for your information.
I restored rom as I wrote in previous post, and warranty service accepted and repaired my phone. They had to replace mainboard, but now I finally got my phone back and it works!

(RESOLVED)hey guys, i've been looking everywhere for about 3 days now and really don't know how to resolve my phone's problem. I bought the rogers e10a version of the x10 mini and really wanted to update my phone to the latest 2.1 version. As most of us know, you have to debrand your phone first as SEUS as well as sony companion will tell you that 1.6 is the lastest version. Anyways i ended up using the "build.prop.claro" file from skzBR from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=820009&page=4) while debranding and re-used SEUS to upgrade the phone to 2.1. Now when i used this build, i got the a claro logo when i booted up the phone and i didn't ike that, so i though i could just change the the build.prop in 2.1 to the other "build.prop.vivo"... well when i did that i felt really stupid after since i then remembered it was made for the 1.6 os. So now my phone is messed up! all i get is the Sony Ericsson start screen looping over and over again.
The phone does go into recovery mode, but does not have root permission through ADB so i can't push the old build.prop.claro file back into the phones system folder.. The SEUS and pc companion programs do not work to restore the phone and give me tell me my phone has no new software to update with. Even when i try pressing the repair option through pc companion get that same message. I've tried numerous flashtools with different rom with .sin files and have has zero success. So i'm wondering if i do have a chance at this if someone has the .sin files from both rom descirbe in the link and i try reflashnig it with the latest flashtool or if omnius is my only choice here.. any help really appreciated guys.
Thanks.
shouldve bought an evo

re:evo
not helpful, but thx.
Have u tried this:
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=844219
RE: have you tried this
yes i have, the flashtool establishes a connection with the phone when i put it in recovery mode. When it says its flashing my phone, all ,sin files or a 2.1 generic rom seam to flash fine and whn done, it tells me " finished, now reboot phone", the phone is still stuck and looping. So i don't know if its because i'm not flashing the .sin files of the build.prop.vivo rom which i can't seam to find anywhere or what....
Hi, im a bit busy today. So just give you a link that you can try http://www.xperiax10.net/2010/04/14/debrand-your-xperia-x10-tutorial/
Hope it will help you.
i fixed it
I flashed the phone with 1.6 e10i firmware and the java flashtool and it worked. I then changed the build.prop file to a e10a file and reflashed. SEUS was able to reflasht the phone's firmware to 1.6 e10a and all is good now... thanks guys!
Hi all!
I've read a lot of threads but I didn't found a valid solution for my problem.
My USB socket is gone..I can use it only to charge the battery.
I rooted (only rooted, no custom ROM) my SGS2 with odin when it was at 2.3.3..then I updated it from Kies to the 2.3.4.. (i know..it was a stupid thing to do) and i apparently lost the root (app that needs root doesn't work anymore).
After a while my usb socket has brocked and now i want to repair it under the warranty. The problem is that over the device info it says "kernel version: [email protected]". so They will not repair the phone under warranty.
How could I fix that? I've and USB Jig..
Thanks in advice,
Luca

That "root" you speak of in kernel version is superuser (root) on Linux/Unix system where that Android ROM was build. It has nothing to do with your phone.
The best way is to use CWM recovery and flash another kernel on the phone to hide what you have.
Tbh, my friends brand new SGS2 came with a kernel named "[email protected]" funny yeh? It wasn't even rooted, so really you don't have to worry.
Then use a launcher with hiding capabilities to hide the Superuser app.

Hi everyone
I´ve a problem, my usb port not working, so can´t charge ou even connect to pc.
EDIT: I´ve tryed with different usb cord ou usb chargers, same problem: can´t charge or connect to (any) pc. The problem is in usb phone.
Solution: go to SE support, Problem: X10 Mini Pro rooted and with modified rom.
So is that possible to flash an original rom (Vodafone Portugal) but using only the sdcard and xrecovery? Here i can get the original rom?
Best regards and many many thanks in advance.
All the best for you
I don't see any problem here. Charge your phone using socket in the wall

You actually have no problem. Just buy a new USB cord.
I´ve used many diferent charges or usb cords, the problem is in usb phone, so i can´t connect to any pc or charge the batery That´s why i wan´t to downgrade so i could send phone to SE.
Don't tell them, that your phone is rooted and bring them power offed phone.

it would still be the same. SE people needs to turn on phone to try to connect the phone. they would know if the phone has custom ROM.
@thread starter ( BMFDUARTE ):
- Find a thread at x10 mp section for you to download the back up file for the stock ROM. I have back up for stock ROM but it is impossible for me to upload it. Sorry.
-Just download the back up file and put it in your SD cards folder which would be "clockworkmod" or "xrecovery".
-Run the recovery in your phone and restore the downloaded back up file.
-After doing so, you should have the stock ROM back.
-There you can FOOL the SE people
Hey, you can give them phone, and they will fix it. Why are you afraid giving them phone with custom rom? They will fix your phone and you'll have to pay for it. Rooting your phone only disables your guaranty for the phone. That means you'll have to pay for their help.
SEUS says new software already installed
When I connect my e10i to SEUS for flashing back to stock rom its says new software alrready installed. this is happening after unlocking the bootloader and flashing nAa-08 kernel to the phone. PLZ HELP!!!!!!!!

Hello all.
My Xperia X10 Mini Pro is stuck on bootloop as you can see on this video
http://youtu.be/EhaBn0uuSvE
It just got like that from one moment to the other..I was using stock ROM
I tried to flash with Flashtool with these ROMs
U20a_2.1udpt1_Generic
ST17i-Active_4.1.B.0.431-1254-6360_SONY
On the first ROM it gets 100% successfull but still cant boot !
This phone was bought on Portugal, so I dont know if the ROM makes any difference..
Need some advice please !
I've read somewhere that Gordon's Gate (part of Flashtool) can still access a phone even when it bootloops.
Could you document what steps you already took? Perhaps link to the article you followed? (Below is a list of certain steps one usually takes when installing custom ROMS, but they are by no means always necessary, could you perhaps indicate what you already did?)
Rooted Yes/No/Not Sure
ClockWorkMod installed Yes/No/Not Sure
Unlocked bootloader Yes/No/Not Sure
Custom kernel Yes/No/Not Sure
The location of where the phone was bought will not make a lot of difference for the ROM. It might affect things like hardware keyboard layouts, but there are fixes available for those. But things like specific baseband and firmware are still important. By carefully reading the description, you can usually check if your phone can be used.
To be honest, I only have used Flashtool to flash new kernels to my X10 Mini Pro, for just installing another ROM I use ClockWorkMod.
What you can try:
Unbrick through SEUS: here (video)
I've read about people unbricking their devices with PC Companion, here.
If you should be able to regain access to the phone and still want to tinker:
This ROM works nice with the stock kernel
Later, you could unlock the bootloader, flash custom kernels (nAa ICS 04) and install ROMS needing such custom kernels (the U20 ICS ROMS, like MiniCM9)
Should you feel the need to ever unlock the bootloader, use this tool
Cheers and thanks for your post !
I used SEUS and updated to latest firmware but still no success on booting. It stills the same...
Rooted No
ClockWorkMod installed No
Unlocked bootloader No
Custom kernel Not Sure
Any chance that you can point me a stock rom and stock kernel to see if it boots that way?

Don't update, repair... leave your phone unplugged when SEUS searches for updates, it can't recognise your phone when it's not connected and will give you a repair option. choose that, and make sure you select your phone from the list presented. it will then flash original kernel and firmware to your phone.
Don't know which kernel you flashed before you got this bootloop, but the second rom you mentioned in your opening post isn't even for your phone, so i guess you got confused with what goes for your phone. You don't even get a kernel logo, so i guess you flashed a kernel for a different model altogether, or your stock kernel got corrupted. a repair should fix it.
I'm now updating on PC Companion like belgianguy said
If unsuccessfull I'll follow your instructions, thanks a lot in advance !
Same on PC Companion..no boot !
SmG67, I dont see any repair option on SEUS. It detects the phone and says thar it's updated. If I remove the battery while is searching my phone it keeps saying that it's updated. What am I doing wrong ?
On PC Companion I got the Repair option, it repaired, but...surprise...still can't boot !

That's a shame... because you now have all official sony ericsson firmware on your phone, kernel and rom... If it's still not booting the kernel, there's nothing you can do about it, maybe a repair-shop might be able to fix it.
Well, a repair-shop isnt able to fix it because the mini-usb port has bad contact and they consider this phone out of warranty because of that ! It almost never happens that bad contact..

Well if it's that far gone it might very well be a hardware issue. But just to be sure, could you start Flashtool and see if it still recognizes the device (see screenshot of what I see).
If it isn't able to, an older version of s1tool had an IDENTIFY option that required you plug the USB cable into the computer (but not in the phone), to shut down the phone, then push the BACK button and then plug the usb cable into the phone.
The bad contact you mentioned might be causing troubke as well, are you sure it isn't the cable that is at fault? Perhaps try to attach the USB cable in such a way that its not stressed and so that the phone cannot move (to prevent it from disconnecting due to a bad contact). Your flashes very well might have gone faulty because of that. But then again, the SEUS/PC Companion flashes seem to have succeeded, so hopefully Flashtool can shed some light here.
Hi all,
I have some kind of physical fault with my phone where it is not recognised when it is connected to a computer by USB. A device is acknowledged but it cannot be properly connected. The phone charges but does not mount. I have tried all trouble shooting guides and now it is been reduced to a hardware fault with the handset.
I have been running a rooted phone with Omega Rom for a long time, but I need to revert it to stock, unrooted for warranty repair.
I have two problems:
1. I cannot use ODIN as cannot connect to a PC,
2. I don't have a backup of the original firmware and ROM for my phone. I did have it, but over 18 months it has been lost (my fault I know).
So, I am looking for:
A copy of a 'Three Mobile Stock S2 ROM & Kernel'. A torrent location for all the files I need (as this is the only way I can get them onto the phone with no USB)
& Instructions for how to flash the kernel and ROM and then Unroot the phone. I think I can use Mobile Odin for this.
Is there somewhere I can look up the right firmware and Kernel for my phone?
Any advice welcome,
Cheers Guys
try to use another pc.
cheers for the advice. Same problem with all PCs. Its def a hardware issue with the Phone.
Edit: Mods.. please can you delete this thread. I have posted correctly in the troubleshooting forum now. sorry for the inconvenience.
Cheers
