Dropped my Titan. The BACK, HOME and SEARCH button no longer work. When you press them it registers a touch action from whatever is on the screen about 1/2 inch about the buttons. The rest of the phone works fine, but without the BACK button, navigating around is impossible (I have to power-cycle to go back to the home screen).
I've power cycled and hard rest the phone, no change. Any other ideas before I pull this thing apart?
If its under warranty may be worth sending for repair, Ok they may charge you but gotta be better than totally messing it up?

The drop voided the warranty, unfortunately.

I've been using my unit for 6 months now and noticed that the home button key has become "soft" compared to before. Also, there seems to be a "second click" whenever I press it, the tactile feel just isn't solid anymore as if it's going down in two directions. Although the home button is still 100 percent functional and responsive. It's the hardware button itself I'm worried about.
Should I dispose my unit now while it's still working because I'm concerned this might be similar to the power button issue of the nexus one which was a bad phone.
No. Mine's fine.
If you're that worried about it, flash stock firmware onto phone, factory reset, use jig to reset flash counter & return to Samsung/your telco for warranty service.

My screen seems to be touching itself lately. Random phantom clicks are happening, mostly in the area just below the notification bar. It doesn't happen all the time, but I have been unable to pin a potential cause down. If the worst happens, and it goes completely nuts, what would you do? Are there reasonable options for replacement screens? Anyone know what replacement options are offered by Verizon? I have insurance.
Phone is rooted and running JellyBlur. This behavior has persisted through different ROMs, so I don't think it's software related. If I end up taking it in to Verizon, I know I have to return it to stock, and I really don't want to do that if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance for your help.
Update: It seems there's something weird going on when I use the volume keys. It causes the screen to register a press on the top center. Any idea how to go about fixing it, or is it even worth looking at? Used Galaxy Nexus phones aren't that expensive, after all.

Interesting. I have had the same problem, but it's intermittent and very rare. I discovered it when I had set the keyboard to allow volume keys to move the cursor while typing. Pressing one of the volume keys resulted in unwanted characters appearing. The same volume key press kept producing the same unwanted characters.
Unfortunately, I don't have any ideas.
I had a similar issue and ended up buying a used TBolt on ebay for $60. A replacement LCD/digitizer combo is about the same price. I went with the whole unit so I could make the transition with little downtime, but swapping the screen out of these phones is really simple.
So my phone is in perfect condition i've had it under a month there has been no major damage to it, it looks new and has been in an otterbox all its life with another screen protector on it.
But when i woke up this morning the touch screen wouldn't respond. I could use all the buttons and they worked i could even pull up s voice by holding the home button and then pressing back button and get to android home menu with the app. But the touch screen would not detect my fingers at all.
I don't see how its possible it has got any damage it is in perfect condition.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I think i read somewhere about resetting the digitizer?
And as far as resetting it to factory and or going to a different firmware. Since i cannot access my apps i cannot really backup my phone and it has really important info that i can't lose. So i'm stuck in between 2 walls and i am screwed.. Any suggestions?
Oh and i also removed the otterbox and screen protector to make sure nothing trapped underneath it was causing interference. No luck. :crying:

if not rooted send it for warranty, and if it is rooted unroot it first and check download mode status before claiming warranty.
use a usb otg cable and usb mouse to navigate the screen.
You can make a backup using adb

My phone is in the shop for that and beeing repaired, probably a digitizer malfunction (hardware related). Buttons work but touch does not work. Send it in for repair. They will replace the whole screen.
I was using my phone yesterday and all of a sudden it just got stuck. It wouldn't respond at all so I had to force a restart by pressing the power and volume down button. It started and I left it without unlocking it. I pick it up a few seconds later and it is switched off. It won't start no matter what I try. I don't think it charges because the phone remains cold and the red LED dosen't show up. I'm not sure what to do.

Well, yeah but I got a crack on the left side of my screen which voids the warranty unless I fix it for $350 which I don't really want to. Guess I have no other choice, huh?

Maybe you can take it to your local phone repair shop? You can definitely get it fixed for cheaper.
The button seems very fragile on this device. On my other phones I am in the habit to click the power button to turn off the screen. But has anybody had their button "wear out" and need to be replaced?
Maybe I would be better off to double tap the screen to turn off the screen?
I've had mine for almost 2 years now and always turn the screen on/off via power button ... zero issues here, it still works as it did on day 1
Yeah me neither is working fine for almost 2years
Thanks guys, I was afraid it might be fragile since it jiggles. I just read a forum with people that bought refurb lg g5 and sent it back for rma to the ebay seller because the power button "jiggled around" and they thought the phone must be fooked up and sent it back for a refund
Yes it does. Dirt collects behind it and the button feature fails. Sensor still works.
You will need to buy a phone repair kit, and a button to replace it. All you need is a blowdryer to reheat the plate that keeps it in place, and remove it. Consider buying a new plate for it as you could damage it taking it off.
