I am running MIUI. Not as fast as I want it to be.
Which ROM for utter, sheer speed?
I can't stand it when I am waiting for the phone....
willing to sacrifice it all, for the sake of responsiveness !
Help !
Should I just get stock rom? that is, roms based on Froyo will be faster?
unfortunately, there's seems to be an inherent delay in ICS. of all the ICS flavors i've tried, Doc's V6 seems to be the snappiest, although only after extensive tweaking. get rid of menu transitions, disabled scrolling cache, etc.
since ICS isn't officially supported, and probably won't ever be, I think 2.2 & 2.3 brews will be better optimized. I just came from a non-recognizable Bionix 1.3.1, custom handling of the framework, and was hoping to flash the lovely Bionix Blackout theme, but the author never got back to me.
as of this moment, i'm on WeUI 1.0. I may go back to 2.2 for one reason: Speakerphone. I've yet to find an ICS rom/kernel combo that doesn't screw up speakerphone. The mute/unmute bug seems to still be prevelant, although not as annoying.
I'm using Passion V13.1 clocked at 1.4ghz. My phones handles the OC without crashing. I've disabled many of the pretty things and I have 0 lag. Its been great.

I'm using ICS Zen 1.6 with Subzero #70
100% Supercharged - Overclocked.
Zero Lag.
I'm on Slim 3.4. I don't use any OC, but the phone is plenty zippy. The only thing that seems to lag is on startup while it scans for all the apps that I have moved to SD. Once that is done, I don't have any speed issues.

Nobody here is right.... i love.my.bionix and passion but neither of them were ever fast.. cm7 was always mindblowingly fast.... like godly.. with glitch,.you can oc.to 1.65ghz and oc the graphics processor even tho stock speed was already faster than ics and froyo at 1.4ghz..
Seriously, cm7 is cleeearly faster by a mile..
For comparison, i got around 1600 on quadrant benchmark and about 15 on linpack highest on ics and froyo.... almost 3200 and 25 on cm7 highest

Performance varies from device to device. While cm7 might be faster for some (I used cm7 for almost a year) but the speed was nothing compared to Zen for me right now. Benchmark means very little in actual performance, so it isn't something you can really rely on in regards to how fast the phone will actually be.
Yea ICS is a pain.
For those that say you have no lag.
1:you have 1-4 apps
2:you don't use to its full extent
3:you don't like having a nice user experience.(which is why you disabled everything)
4:you obviously don't know what a smartphone is used for.
Lag is present in a lot of ICS ...you need to do a lot of tweaking for it to be vanished and even then a little hiccup will be available which is fine nothings perfect...it just gets to me when people say they have days without charging their phone and claim to have "zero lag"

Not true, actually.
1. I have over 150 apps on my phone right now
2. I certainly do. Lots of streaming, DLing, gaming, messaging, emailing, etc
3. I have most all my settings enabled atm, only thing I don't have is a pretty live wallpaper lol (but occasionally I do turn one on for a few weeks)
4. And that would be?
I get nearly 2 days worth of battery on ICS Zen with the stock battery.

That was day one of my flash, and I didn't use my phone very much as you can see...but even still, it had good life on the first day...the battery life has improved substantially since then (as it tends to once the rom settles) Now, I am constantly using my phone, and I can "usually" get about 36-38 hours on one charge.
It's the only ICS rom that has had no lag for me, whatsoever, and has excellent battery performance. I am speaking from my perspective, not any one else's. Phone's vary from devices to device...making a swooping claim like, "all ics roms are buggy and lag" is just silly. Just because your device lags on certain roms, doesn't mean that the performance of the rom is reflected by your experience.

Hardware varies greatly from one device to the next...thats why some people can undervolt crazy values, and others can undervolt very little....same with overvolting and everything in between.
And, I ran passion for a few months....Zen is like a new experience in my opinion.
Yea I couldn't under volt past -25 else it froze

But why?!?
The Qualcomm CPU should kick ass. (Granted, it might not be faster than the Exynos in SGII but it shouldn't be MUCH slower) The GPU is also on par, if not faster than the Mali and Tegra GPU...
So why do my Benchmark scores kinda suck? My Tegra2 powered 7 inch tablet usually gets way better scores than my Evo3D... On some benchmarks it's even noticably behind LG Optimus 2X and similar phones that it should be AT LEAST on par with, if not faster...
Is it only the ROM that's at fault here or what's going on? What benchmark scores do the rest of you get? Smartbench, Antutu, Quadrant, CF Bench and all the rest of them?
(And yes, the phone is smooth enough in everyday use. And benchmarks don't mean everything, but it DOES mean something...)
It only means anything if all you do is bench testing on your phone. Try play games, watch films and take some picture with youe phone instead.
The mal 400 is way faster than anything else in android phones.
Never the less, nothing comes close to taxing the 3d processor or go. So don't worry about benches.
What more do you really need out of EVO3D benches to see that with the right ROM, and not having 46 widgets and livewallpaper running in the background, you can get some pretty nice scores:

Various roms, kernels, no telling really what at the time, but pretty much in line. There's something wrong with the Rom you're on, or your setup if you can't get good benches with this phone, IMHO.
What ROM, kernel, are you running, and what's a 'bad' score in your book?
<<Robotron 2084 = Perfection>>
I love it when people jizz over benchmark scores. Like justj said, try some apps, games, and movies. If they run fantastically, then you're phone is running great, and you don't need to worry about silly benchmark numbers.

Ah, thank you... I'll turn off everything but the benchmarking app, and get back to you with the scores... As for "bad score" well, I'd expect it to beat my tablet (Tegra2, 1024*600 resolution) as well as the LG 2X, Atrix, Optimus 3D, and most of the newer phones on the market, really. Which it at present doesn't do. It gets beaten by the Nexus S in some benchmarks!
Video and games and so on run pretty fast and smooth, so overall I'm happy and don't place TOO much weight on benchmarks. I just find it odd, because benchmarks to certain degree DO reflect real world performance.
I'll get back to you with scores and which ROM etc. Off the top of my head, I remember it's running 2.3.4 Rogers ROM...

Didn't know you had a GSM phone.... Those are capped at 80% of potential speed by the Canadian Government.
(Nah, j/k).
Good luck on outbenchmarking the LG2X... (you'll need it). Benchmarks can't save a bad phone, but if they could, that's where they'd start. I've seen multiple screens from multiple Lg2x users running CM7 with Quadrant Standard scores of over 5K. That's insane.
We'll probably never see that on an EVO3D, but it doesn't matter, because ultimately, the LG2X isn't half the phone at the end of the day.
Just my 2 cents.
Edit: If your tablet happens to be a Viewsonic Gtab, well, forget that notion as well. That basically is at the top of every benchmark 'top scores' list.
I've got one.
Is it fast?
Incredibly fast.
Would I trade it right now for a "slower" tablet that was a "better" tablet?
You betcha.
Righty o...
I could always upload screenshots later if you think that might be a good idea, but here are some scores:
Antutu: 4442, which puts it behind both the S2, the Optimus 2X and the Motorola Xoom (!?!)
Nenamark 2 reported a somewhat respectable 25.6.
Smartbench 2011 (Supposedly the only benchmark suite that takes dualcore into consideration): Productivity: 2397 Games: 1650
(Which is behind the Transformer Tab and Atrix in both categories, and even behind the Nexus S and Galaxy S in Games)
Quadrant:1491 (Just ahead of Moto Droid X and Nexus One at 1250!)
Devicemark: 1325 (Equal to Desire HD, but behind the Atrix and LG 2X)
CF Bench: 8740, 1364, 4314 (Way behind both the Atrix and the Sensation?!)
I think that's it as far as the benchmarks I ran. I can upload the screenshots if you think it might help. As for the phone, it's a Rogers phone with the 2.3.4 Gingerbread, HTC software: 1.20.631.2
(BTW: What does "SMP PREEMPT" mean in the Kernel version?!?)
And no, the tablet is an Iconia A100. Zippy little thing, though I don't understand how it can run corners around my Evo with a Tegra CPU and more pixels to push...

There is something seriously wrong. The least you should be getting is around 2000-2500.
Yeah, I turned off background apps, etc. What scores do people with the Rogers ROM usually get? Would backing up and then a full restore to factory settings help?
I'm rooted btw, but didn't install an alternate rom.
No question that the gs2 benches well but after having one for a couple days I missed my 3d..I trade benches for a smooth and usable UI ..but ocd I can beat the gs2 in every bench app there is ..I never felt the supposed increase in speed that the epic has ..the 3d opened my apps faster and was more stable using games that utilized the gyro ie homerun baseball 3d ..almost unplayable on the gs2..our phones have plenty of power either way we have plenty of power on tap
Nope. Quadrant seems about right from what I remember with the Rogers ROM. Not much better with LeeDroid either.
Might have to do with the inability of GSM devs to tweak the kernel and overclock as HTC messed up the board files in the kernel sources they released for the GSM.

Oooh... I'm VERY interested in the A100... I'm actually going to Best Buy today, as they finally have them in stock @~300$... But they have the Flyer as well at the same price...
The a100 IS sporting a dual-core Tegra2 A9 processor, is it not?
And since HC 3.2 in a brand-new device is probably optimized better, speed-wise, I, for one, would expect it to out-perform the 3d in a benchmark test, even @ 1000Mhz.
How do you like the A100, overall?

No, you kinda lost, because you made anyone who might be interested download a dropbox file instead of just doing this:

I actually really like it! When I was in the store, I let all the tablets do a sunspider test, and the A100 actually came out ahead of everybody, even the iPad2, so it IS a zippy little fella.
Anything in particular you'd like to know? The two cameras are just fine, the few times I used them for anything else than a webcam, they did the job fine.
Speakers are great and really loud. The screen is a bit on the dim side, but turning off the auto light in settings take care of that. It's really comfortable to hold, even for extended periods of time, even if the plastic might make it feel and look less than a premium product.
Batterylife is kinda meh, I usually don't get more than 5 hours out of it, but then again it's pretty rare that I take it somewhere where there isn't a charger around. The only thing I can think off that would require your tab to be on for 5 hours is a plane trip, and even most of those have chargers these days
The only caveat I would have, is that as a Evo3D owner a 7 inch screen might be a bit too small. I mean the difference between 7 and 4.3 inches isn't that big in daily use, and after getting the Evo I kinda find the 7 inch screen a bit on the small side. Might just be me though. If I had to choose any tablet today, I think I'd go for the Galaxy. The 10 inch size is just right, and it weighs pretty much the same as the A100, and since getting a tablet I've found out that weight means more in terms of portability than just size.
The only other thing I've found to be annoying would probably also apply to the Flyer: There aren't too many tablet apps available as it is, and the few tablet apps there are, aren't always compatible with 7 inch tabs. There are way more apps and games available for 10 inch tablets.
Oh yeah, one more thing: The A100 is super easy too root. Took me like 5 mins. But the support for it is pretty poor. There's like no ROMs available for it at all, which I find really weird. Not yet anyways, but hopefully it'll gain some devs...

BTW, I posted this somewhere else, and you may already know this trick, but if you wanna "revert your UI to Gingerbread" on an HC tablet (I did.... Just not into HC yet), and since you've already rooted, if you change your density to 171 (or above) , it will revert the ui to GB, (something you might be more used to, or like better) , while maintaining compatibility with those 3.0 apps.

I recently upgraded to the Galaxy Nexus from my Atrix and now I have a rooted and unlocked PAPERWEIGHT that I can't find a use for.
I can't sell it because there's a dead zone in the capacitor and I had an idea..
Why not use it as an mp3 player?
My question to all is what are the best roms, kernels, under voltage settings, anything you think would be the best to maintain speed, stability and battery life for the sole purpose of listening to music on it?
ANY suggestions are welcome, thanks!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Well, I know this doesn't answer your question really.. but the only thing wrong with it is the touch screen doesn't work properly? You know you can still sell it for parts for a pretty good amount..or have it fixed for 80-100 and sell it for 200.. just saying, its not a complete brick
I've had it posted everywhere with no luck, I think I've settled on keeping it so j can at least get some kind of use out of it.

I would suggest Neutrino as your daily, or Aura #4, i haven't tested them, but people are reporting great battery life with them. I once heard that a guy did (50+ hours on Aura #4). Use Faux's kernel, and clock it at 800mhz max, and add a profile to make it to 500mhz or 400mhz max when the screen is off. I bet that will save lots of battery. Also remember to turn off WiFi and Bluetooth. About undervolting, im not sure.
And congrats on getting the GN! Lucky boy
I get 48 hours easy with Alien 4 and the stock kernel. That's with the phone/data running. If you are in airplane mode it will go for at least a week.

Any perk to using a CM9 rom over Neutrino, Aura #4, or Alien #4 since I won't be using the phone for ANYTHING except listening to music?
Also, are there any system apps I can freeze with Titanium Backup that won't affect the phone at all since I won't be using the phone, dialer, any e-mail applications, no games, nothing of that sort EXCEPT MAYBE Poweramp or the stock music player?
Neutrino, faux's kernel. Neutrino is extremely stripped down so it won't take up a lot of the processing time. I have the feeling that you could even under clock it to 456 or 312 and be fine. Under volt like crazy, just check what people post in faux's thread.

Just got Neutrino up and running, VERY quick ROM. I'm confused on the Faux kernel though, I'm not sure what's compatible and so forth.
I've never dug into flashing different kernels, could you possibly link me to the appropriate one?
Sideloading with Sideload Wonder Machine has been a breeze, I'm just deciding which music player to use.. and figuring out how to get my paid Titanium Backup without having to download the .apk illegally.

Just sign in with your google account and download from market on wifi... Or if you don't want to use market copy the apk from your other phone through sdcard/dropbox/usb.
Why not just use your Galaxy? I know it doesn't have an SD card, but how much music are you planning on having on there? I've got like 8 gigs and it's hours worth of music. Personally I wouldn't want to carry 2 devices of this size around with me everywhere.

Mostly because I'd like to make use of the broken phone, I don't have to worry about taking care of it as much as I do as my GNex.
I'm not an Apple fan but I love the iPods, I liked carrying around something on me solely for music. I like my GNex for everything else using the battery as much as I want for what I use it for, and I like having the Atrix set up with the tips earlier in this thread and a battery that lasts days and days and days.
I'm at 76% after 1 day 44 minutes use, I love it! I'd be hard pressed carrying around my Nexus that long listening to music.
The fact that 95% of my time lately has been spent travelling on buses, this means I can't always have my GNex on/fully charged. This makes having a separate player extremely useful.

When I flashed Neutrino, I didn't bother flashing Gapps. I guess I could push Market on it's own to have access to Wifi downloads and all with my account but..
Well shoot, I didn't even consider that! As I was typing this I thought a little more clearly, thanks!
Not to bump but share my success.. I haven't bothered with any kernels, but on Neutrino EE I'm at 81.5 hours with 30 percent battery still remaining.

BTW neutrino EE has the stock clocked faux kernel. If you want to improve your battery a little more, pop over to the faux123 kernel thread and download the CM7 version of the newest kernel.
Also, I would go ahead and flash the gapps and install setcpu to underclock when the screen is off.
Lastly, for undervolting, use setcpu again and start off with -50 on each one. If that is stable then try -75 on each and so on and so forth.

If you're looking for a good audio player, you should check out PowerAmp. It is one of the top 10, maybe 5, popular apps on the Market, and for a good reason. It is second to none. The free version is a full featured 30 day trial, so try it out. It costs about $5 for a license, and it's well worth it in my opinion. 10-band equalizer, slick UI, great library management, tagging, FLAC support for high quality audio (sounds AMAZING), stereo widening and bass/treble configuration on top of the equalizer, and so much more. Great support for Bluetooth audio devices too.
Also, just to let you know, you're in luck. There's no better modern phone choice to have for an audio player than the Atrix in my opinion, as it has a medium-low-end Wolfson professional audio chip inside. It may not sound like it with the speaker or some cheap headphones, but if you ever get the chance to get some nice headphones or speakers, then definitely try them out. You'll get the best results with some FLAC audio.
DON'T BUY BEATS, look up reviews! All they're good for is showing off the fact that you bought licensed headphones! You can spend half the money and get way better sound. If you haven't tried a $150+ Sennheiser or related, and have only heard Beats in stores, then you don't know how well it can sound!
Sorry for the rant. I do that when it comes to video games, computers, or especially music. Lol.
Hey good to hear this is working out great for you so far!

I don't think my old ipod touch lasted 1/3rd of that time with heavy usage.
When ever I do upgrade next I'm gona snag this idea for a media player aswell.
Hey guys, havent really ever posted much but here goes:
I just bought the note, and switched to at&t just for the phone, i absolutely love the idea of having a small tablet that fits in your pocket that also makes your calls.
but.....
I'm comming from sprint's galaxy s2 (epic 4g touch). That phone was superfast. I feel like this phone absolutely crawls in comparison, its laggy and jumpy and things just take so long to open up... switching between things isnt as instantaneuos as before.. Another surefire way i know that something is definitely worse is that before on my gs2 i was able to run adownloader, downloading as many as 4 torrents at a time without the phone slowing down to terribly and i was even able to watch avi videos normally while downloading. now, the phone comes to a complete stop.
Now, to be fair, i did root my sg2 a few months ago and installed a custom rom but i never overclocked it, but maybe thats why that phone was faster. could it be that when devs start making custom roms for this one it will "speed up"?
Because im sorry this phone is so laggy now.....

This helped a lot. Tyvm.
I noticed that every once in a while I have to do a "clear memory" in the task manager to speed up the Note. Not sure what's going on, maybe a memory leak. It won't be long until we have ICS and I'm sure that will speed it up quite a bit.

You mean system power saving option? Or is there another option called energy saver? Just checking you never know.
There seem to be HUGE performance differences between the LTE notes. I got lucky and have a super fast one.
Everything, and I mean everything, is hardcore fast and super smooth. This note is faster than the H+ galaxy nexus and much faster than the SGS2 Skyrocket side-by-side. Quadrant (new) scores around 2900-3200 and I'm totally stock with no modifications. Apps open instantly, there is no waiting, no stuttering and if you search for my posts, you'll see my screenshots of over 5 hours of screen on time with over 21 hours of unplugged time in an LTE zone (Atlanta).
My point being: if your Note isn't working as I have just described, be aware that there are notes out there that do, mine being one of them. Go exchange it. When you get one that performs as it should, this is the fastest and best performing phone on the market currently. I've tested it side-by-side with the best.

And yes, when roms start coming in, this phone will scream even more. Everyone *****ing about it not having an exynos. Here's a nugget of info: you can overclock the hell out of snapdragon, much more than exynos. Clock-for-clock exynos is faster but when devs jump in, snapdragon will be faster in the long run due to overclockability. You watch, this processor will break 2ghz and still have great battery life once smart processor scaling gets implemented into ROMs.
Hell, Da_G was near 2ghz (1.93) before the phone was officially publicly released. In time, these clocks will become stable.

Stock benchmark...
was like 2500 on quadrant but then I rooted and used the overclock kernel and I'm at 3400...I don't know how people get 2900-3200 stock highly questionable. My friend got one the same day I did and his stock is at the exact same score about 2500.

I pretty much agree with this guy. My note performs absolutely flawlessly. I have root, but have not installed overclocked kernel or overclocking apps. Even with a live wallpaper running, my device seems to fly by. @OP Possibly a resource hogging app?

Get on YouTube. Go look up the phonedog ATT Galaxy Note review. In it, the quadrant benchmark score is 1700ish, he's using totally stock software with static wallpaper. Yours, at 2500 was 800 over his. Quadrant fluctuations? Random variables? Different note performance? My claim of 2900-3200 shouldn't be "questionable", as if your incinuating I'm lying, when there is already 800 points difference between a huge YouTube reviewer and yours.
I hate benchmarks. Don't care what they say as I find it rarely relates to real-performance. Already have quadrant uninstalled from my note. Yet people use it and live by it, so when discussing performance, I have no choice but to use it for comparison. My note absolutely screams and if yours doesn't, something, somewhere, is wrong.

I wouldn't hold your breath. Besides, using golauncher works 100% on this 2.3 version, which for the most part is as stable as they get. I'm not convinced ICS has much to offer outside of a slick GUI. And that's GL does anyway

Just out of curiosity, what color is your Note?
My GF has the white one, and I have the carbon blue one. Just like you, hers keeps hitting quadrant scores of 2800 +, reaching up to ~ 3100. Mine has topped at 2800, hitting usually ~ 2500.
Needless to say, quadrant isn't very consistent, and hers sometimes hits around 2300, but mine has never gone over 2800.
I know that benchmark scores are in no way a reliable way of measuring a device's performance, but after paying a hefty price for the phone, and seeing that one next to mine which was also purchased at the exact same time and has the exact same specs is getting a consistent "better performance", makes me wonder if I should ask for an exchange.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Edit ---
Forgot to mention, the overall phone performance seems to be smoother on her Note. Mine has some lag, mostly on the home screen, whereas hers barely lags at all.
I have the Black one, and it is laggy as hell. I mean horrible. Like I keep debating taking it back.
Anyway, my quadrant is always around 2500.

OK. can we get a poll here, i guess i should start a new thread for this, but mine is black and laggy as hell to. can people post their colors? Best buy said that they dont exchange for color though.. not sure what to do..
Before root and rom/kernal, Note was laggy at times, tried adw (much better) and go launcher (better) then I rooted and rom'ed and I got 3842 running the oc Kernal, its flying! I will say stock though the skyrocket I had was faster, no lag at all

Nope no widgets. I'll have to try and freeze some more bloat.
Use setcpu, and use scaling performance so that it's truly running at 1.5GHz. Samsung uses "on-demand" speed scaling, so when you test, there's a chance it might be running at less than 1.5 if it hasn't scaled up to 1.5 yet
I'm running stock ROM (only rooted), CWM b4 recovery, and Da_G overclock kernel
Dont just freeze bloat uninstall it! I never freeze it.
i'm running stock everything except i run an installed Launcher. why would mine be higher than some others? does rooting slow it down?
here is my benchmark.
Using GO launcher, 6 home screens, 11 widgets - WidgetLocker Running in background w/ beautiful widgets.
SauROM w/ DaG kernel overclocked - 1.83 ghz - V6 supercharger script 1000+hp
My setCPU is 1.83 on "performance" setting (yes it makes a difference).
*Also, used RomToolboxPro to change i/o scheduler to Deadline and increase SD read write from 128kb to 3072kb...
Here is mine running Saurom with Da G kernal. Clock is at 1566mhz.

Couple things here, and by no means am I an Apple fan to ANY degree, but....
4S is close to year old technology, so comparing it to a brand new superphone like the Note (even the Skyrocket which has been to market for a couple months now) is silly. I generally like Phonedog and was genuinely surprised that guy would even compare the two devices. It sets a really silly precedent because 8 months from now, he'll likely make the same comparison between the Note and the Iphone5 which just might be similarly unfair, in the other direction.
Also, Quadrant is very nearly fraudulent in terms of its usefulness in showing the "actual" speed of a device, in a real-world sense, so I take ANY statement that starts or ends with Quadrant benchmarking with a huge truckload of salt.
Just my take...

CWM b4, Da_G's Oc Kernel, Saurom, and a lot of bloatware uninstall.
CPU set to "Performance" 1.83ghz = 3900.
DA_g kernel, OC to 1.782, on demand, no reset and no ram clear. Wanted to see what it would if i was to do the test in real world situation (like showing off to friends);-)

Awesome. I was just going to ask this question here myself.
I've finally dove into unlocking my bootloader.
I was using Imperative Initiative for a couple of weeks, but grew tired of the remnants of Blur and the overall red theme.
I was extremely happy with the performance, though!
I tried a few CM7 ROMS, and was happy with them, but through either my somewhat sloppy ROM flashing, or quirks of the CM7 ROMS, (Or the kernels I was throwing at the ROMS) bits and pieces weren't working for me.
(Synching with exchange servers, Wi-Fi issues etc...)
After wrestling with a few different CM7 ROMS, I'm getting Imperitave Initiative loaded back up right now.
I'm currently on Loki's v1.0.4. It is a very nice rom but doesn't seem to be any smoother for me than stock. I know the benchmark scores might be better and there is more space free on the phone but I'm looking for a real world difference. Going to try with a different launcher and see how that feels.
So far I think CM9 has been the fastest interface but not everything works.
Anyone else? Maybe stock or stock w/deblur script is the fastest no-sacrifice interface there is for the Photon.
**Edit: I have tweaked the interface a bit more in Loki's 1.0.4 and now that it has run a bit I think the interface is indeed faster than it was with stock. Haven't added all my widgets yet but looks to be promising.

The problem with Imperium is the launcher. Then again the problem with Blur is the launcher. I included VTL as the dev has always responded to my include requests and overall it's not a bad launcher. Imperium really starts to shine when using smooth launchers. Zeam and LauncherPro run pretty smooth and Go runs like liquid. I may end up dropping VTL in the next release for more eyecandy and smoothness but am not sure yet.
CM has always been very responsive for me. A lot has to do with the lack of overhead from manufacturer junk. It takes a lot of magic to get most stock roms to perform as well as CM in general. Blur is pretty much hopeless in the regard as even running at 1.3 Blur home is still choppy junk.
Stock with the deblur script will show noticeable improvement but ADW is not the smoothest of launchers. It was used because nobody other than VTL responded to my include requests. A solution would be to pick a smooth, fast launcher and rename it to replace ADW in the script folder then run the script. If any of the launcher devs ever get back to me I will replace ADW. Then again I might just say the hell with it and use a smoother launcher without getting include permissions.

Thanks for the tip. VTL was not running bad at all but put LPP on there and it is pretty quick (plus the features and built in widgets are nice to have). Have used Go in the past on stock but it slowed the phone up considerably when using the widgets. Zeam just doesn't have enough features for my taste.
So far your rom is kickin' some stock butt. I should of tried it sooner. Thanks.

jrebo's score is low because he's not using a class10 card and on the older version. With a class10 on v1.0.5 the scores are around 6500. Running at 750MhZ single core, Initiative v1.0.5 is about as fast as the OG Evo is at 1GhZ.

Reason I don't really care about the benchmarks....variables. Real world performance (on my phone with my setup) is the only thing that matters to me, not some number.
I am crowning Loki's rom the champion. Everything works since it has stock base and my Photon could not be more responsive. There is zero lag between screens, app drawer launch, starting programs, etc. Everything I was looking for in an interface with added bonus of Webtop+/Ubuntop which is awesome in itself.

I only use certain benches for testing and analysis but folks can't seem to leave them alone as the final word on ROM performance. That's why I explained why the scores were what they were.
