sorry, didnt think anyone would make their way there yet for theese issues, and yes i did cid, its installed and running, wifi, BT works, just not mobile netowork

add your APNs, I gotta ask you though, was your phone ever network unlocked?
If not, so you are using ICS for T-Mobile and running on Telus?

lol how do i add my apn, and how do i find out what it is? and it was htc dev unlocked, and s-on, til today, did s off, now its eng s off, i did super CID, but im having an issue now installing su, it says aborted status 0

Yes add your APN.... Settings>Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names (APN)
Google your carriers APN settings and create a new one.
On the very last line type in "default" so it will remember it on boot.
Wait....I sent this with Tapatalk?

www.telusmobility.com/en/phones_and_devices/setupdata.shtml for the APN, and the status aborted on flashing su is normal, just reboot recovery then install it twice and it should work. Also you will need to reflash the ENG HBOOT as the update contains a SHIP HBOOT that will disable most fastboot commands. If you have any farther issues feel free to pm me, I also have a Telus Amaze and I have been doing extensive research in preparation to begin developing for this phone.

Also mobile network didnt work for me.ı tried open new apn and
First line write your operator name ı wrote vodafone
apn name is " internet"
And end of line you gonna see apn type ı wrote "default"
and save it thats all.Its working for me

[Q] Flashing from Verizon to Cricket

I will say right now, I'm a total noob, and could have possibly picked the WORST device to try flashing from Verizon to Cricket, but I have SCOURED the internet, and the more I read, the more I do with this phone, the more confused I become.
I tried (and failed):
* Loading a custom PRL onto the phone with CDMA Workshop 2.7 (Phone will not load with QRST)
* Changing ANY data in the NAM/CDMA Configuration and have the phone remember
* Seeing if there might be a custom ROM available.
So my question is: WHERE DO I START!?

Since I've had so much free time with my phone, I actually got the thing flashed.
Between QPST and the right PRL, my Incredible 4G LTE is now capable of utilizing my talk and text. The last thing I have to do is program an APN for the phone, so my question has changed now.
After going under Settings -> Mobile Network -> Access Point Names -> Create New APN
I tried creating a new one but the default APN (VZWINTERNET) remains default and I can't seem to add any new APNs on the phone. I already have the settings for making the APN work, but does anyone know a fix for the phone not remembering new APNs?

No, and I figured I would have to. So now I'm working on rooting the phone unless you already know how.
So once I have it rooted, it's as simple as rewriting over the default APN?

So far, just completed this walkthrough: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1986346
Fingers crossed it all works and I can load my custom ROM.
EDIT/UPDATE: So I completed the full bootloader unlock! YAY! Now to try and load the Venom ROM. Ideally, everything will work after loading the new ROM.
So it turns out, I still can't root this phone.... I have unlocked the boot loader, but USB Fastboot doesn't appear.
I'd rather edit the post than make new posts. Fixed the damn thing. I can load TWRP recovery, but now I can't seem to get Viper LTE to load right, it keeps the damn stock ROM. I've tried ROM Manager, and now trying GooManager.
Okay, so I was able to not get the Venom LTE like I thought I wanted, so instead I have Cyanogen 10.1, but the problem is, now I either need to...
A: Get the phone into DIAG mode (AKA ##3424)
B: Program settings for the Cricket network
C: Find a Cricket-specific distro of Cyanogenmod.
So random question time: Does the ROM have to be 100% the device I'm trying to alter? I.e. I cannot use an Incredible 2 ROM on an Incredible 4G LTE?

I don't see an option for DM Command Service, which is what I really need. I need to program my phone with the QPST software like I can with the stock ROM.
Of course, I've already flashed the stock ROM, but when it's obliterated for the NEW ROM, my phone dumps the CDMA settings. Also, where might those be stored? If I do a "dirty flash" to CM10.1, maybe I can keep where I programmed my Mobile Directory Number and all that info?
Also, I've already tried *#*#3424#*#*, *#*#PROGRAM#*#*, *#*#DATA#*#* and nothing seems to go through to get the DM Command Service.

If you had read the first post of CM, you'd realize that you're just supposed to hit back when "SIM Card Added" comes up. I have successfully used QPST on this phone. See post 5 of this thread.
I take it Cricket is a sim-less CDMA carrier? If this is the case, then build.prop probably isn't sufficient. This is then outside of my realm of knowledge.

[Q] Commit Failed after entering MDN & MSID - No voice and data.

Greetings, I have been following advice on this server, and have managed to try a few different roms. I recently s-off'ed my phone thanks to the facepalm method, and I updated my radios to the latest firmware.
After the s-off, I got voice service back through "update profile," but I still had no mobile data. Later voice quit as well, and the drop down menu in any sense based rom always said "Looking for Service."
I tried a ##786# reset. I then did update profile and update prl again. After that failed, I contacted sprint and had them send a refresh signal, but to no avail. After that, they gave me my MSID, and I punched my MSL in and entered the MDN (phone number) along with my MSID.
When I hit commit changes, a popup appeared at the bottom of the screen that said "commit failed" and the phone rebooted as it should after 10 seconds. When the phone came back on, none of the changes had been saved.
I tried this both with the latest vipermod and meanbean. I have tried to flash the basic Sense for EVO 4G LTE rooted rom, but it resets TWRP partway through the install and doesn't boot. I'm looking for advice to fix this and get my MSID and MDN in.
Unlocked S-OFF SuperCID
CID 22222222
Hboot 1.12.0000
Radio 1.12.11.1210
OpenDSP-v31.1.0.45.0015
That happened to me after i S-Off'd. I had to call sprint from the phone and they activated the phone again. It was like it was on purpose. But it worked after. I don't know if that might help at all.

Thanks. I tried that the other night. Unfortunately, their refresh signal didn't work, nor did updating profile.
I just installed the most recent rooted stock and tried all the options again ##786# reset, update profile, and finally I manually entered the msid and MDN and got "commit failed" again.
No luck.
That's sooo lame. Try refreshing the signal again? I just remember calling them and this lady was talking so fast I had no clue what she was saying. Then my phone got a profile update and it got fixed.

I just set it to dev and rebooted. I still get "commit failed" where is the MDN and MSID located? I have a sneaking suspicion that the file is either not there, and not getting written, or it's set to read only.

Well you might just have took keep trying with different programs. DFS, cdma workshop, both should work. I'm kinda shooting in the dark here because like I said before I've never had to enter those values. I would suggest running a ruu and trying again in diag mode. And make sure you are connected to the phone and can read/write values.

Same problem on my Sprint HTC One
I am experiencing the same systematic failure of my Sprint HTC One taking any "commit changes" through EPST after rooting and s-off. Five days of deep forum searches have led me through the same series of actions the OP has taken. I have run through all the obvious EPST resets and attempts to "commit" my MSL and MSID on multiple ROMs, including the stock ROM. In ARHD and stock, I get 4G, but so far I have been completely unable to regain voice or text. There seem to be many fields in my EPST information that are not populated, for instance my Mobile Country Code and Mobile Network Code, but I don't know the corresponding information to populate any of these fields. I can provide more specifics if there is a troubleshooting method that requires it. I am curious, if after this amount of time, has anyone experienced this and solved it? OP? Sprint will continue to tell me that there must be a "cell outage" in my area, which I know is not the case, because I can drive 30 miles into my nearby densely populated city and the problem persists, despite heavy cell coverage.

Can't get phone back to LTE after accidental GSM turn on

I have changed my phone to GSM accidentally and now I cannot get LTE service back.
EclipticRez v9, I used the pull down quick settings to turn on Bluetooth but I missed and I turned on/changed to GSM network. Now I cannot change it back. On the quick settings it only has the option to turn on/off GSM. So I went into the hidden phone settings and tried all the various LTE options, it says I'm on LTE in there, but still can't use my phone. It will say 4Glte at the top of the screen but I have no service. If I reboot it goes to GSM in the hidden phone settings.
I tried to remove the GSM option from the quick settings but coredroid stops when I do that and it doesn't stick.
I tried connecting to wifi and sending a text msg and it fails and I get the following error message:
Please add Service Center number in FDN
Is there any way to fix this without having to reflash the ROM? Or if I reflash, can I somehow just pick the network without losing all my info/settings? Backing everything up now in case I have to reflash.
Hmm... these are build.prop settings... if you have the original rom archive, look for the file /system/build.prop and extract it, using root explorer (or your favorite root file manager) over write the existing /system/build.prop file and reboot. Should be GTG.
Always nandroid first, messing in /system could potentially cause... umm... undesirable side effects.
Thanks!
I def have the ROM. I should have a nand from when I flashed it. I was just hoping there was an easy fix so as not to bother.
Do you know why this would have happened? All I had done was hit the GSM on button by accident.

I reflashed the ROM and all is good. And though I cannot remove the Network Mode from the quick settings, I was able to move it down to the bottom of the list so I won't hit it accidentally again.

" don't know for sure, you might try *#*#4636#*#* or ##72786# these are the only ones I can think of right now. "
Well, *#*#4636#*#* takes you to the android testing menu....Doesn't allow me to change any of the settings under the ##786#. The ##72786# takes me to a limited version of ##786#, but only lets me reset the info. I'm not allowed to change any of the settings.
##3282# or ##DATA# allows me to change settings if I put the MSL in, but they are only settings that are related to data use on the phone. You can't update the mobile number, MSID or MEID.
Again thanks all for any ideas you have.

Hi, thanks for the info!
I don't need to unlock it, just manually set the mobile number, MSID or MEID.
any update on this?
I've been having the same issues with the M8, M9, A9.
On the M8 all codes used to work fine (##MSL#, ##DATA#, etc). Then I updated to Android 6.0 via OTA and ##MSL# no longer worked, and ##DATA# was now read only.
On M9 I could never get ##MSL# to work, ##DATA# was read only until I flashed a custom rom (ViperRom). From there I was able to update MSID/MDN via EFS.
On A9 I'm SOL.
Obviously there is some setting that can be tweaked, I just don't know what/where.

X829 unable to connect data. Freedom mobile Canada

I got this phone today. I am from Canada and using Freedom mobile. My phone is able to use for voice call but when I try to connect to data ( Internet) it won't work.
Is there any solution?
Check your APN settings, for my carrier I have to change APN TYPE from DATA to DEFAULT for data connection to work.
What ROM are you using? I have no issue on freedom mobile on my x829. (Currently using AOKP but I think I tried with whatever ROM came from the seller as well.)

May I ask where can I find the ROM version? How do I update my ROM?
Make sure you have it in the right sim slot. I was having problems with my phone and I had it in the slot closest to the edge and data didn't work. It wasn't until I found a thread that said sim slot 2 (the one closest to the edge of the phone) does NOT work with data. Try the sim in the first slot, the slot that is on the right, and report back. I am with Bell, so I know it works perfectly fine.

Just found out my EUI version is 5.8.016S. I've been trying to update to 019S but unable to find the SYSTEM UPDATE on my phone menu.
IAM from India.x829 vertion.eui5.8.016s.hd call ok but net too slow.im using Jio 4g.any solutions.no updation options.i saw 5.8.019s updation.im tried in recovery mode. But error.pls any solution.screen over saturated
Make sure you have the correct APN setting under carrier info.
Name: can be anything.
APN: internet.freedommobile.ca
As the user above said, you will have to add the APN manually.

I was on 16s, internet was normal, ROM version does not have any issue with internet speed.
for updating to 19s you have to follow the instruction to get twrp and flash 19s

Almost certainly this. My APN's didn't follow the SIM, but I entered them manually and I have data on Freedom now.
