2 days ago I've tried to flash a ROM on my Live WT19i: i've unlocked the bootloader, rooted the phone, installed CWM recovery and then flashed the RC3 Android 4.0 ROM. I haven't flashed the custom kernel suggested in the thread of the rom, so now my phone is stuck at SE logo every time I switch it on.
As i've read in another thread, i've downloaded flashtool and tried to flash the kernel on, but it says that "the phone is not rooted".
So i've tried to flash the original firmware (.58, i have never upgrade it up to .62) and then i'm going to re-flash the ROM(this time being more careful to follow all the steps), but when I try to flash the firmware on, Flashtools says that "the drivers are not installed, you can find them in the drivers folder of flashtool". Over there ther's only an EXE file, but the situation isn't changed.
Now: Where can I download this drivers? But expecially,what I have to do to make my phone came on again?
THANKS TO EVERYONE IS GOING TO ANSWERING ME
(In other threads I have found something similar, but not really useful for my problem, so please don't tell me that there is always a thread for this, thanks)
try this the tool posted at this thread.
this thread also has a download link for all the drivers you will need.
have used this myself for unlocking bootloader and flashing kernels.
after you flash the kernel for the ICS rom,
boot to cwm, then install ICS rom again.
dont forget to wipe data and clear cache and dalvik before installing new rom.

The problem is that flashtool (and even this tool you have suggest to me) says "FAILED (remote: The Device must be rooted first)" when I try to install the kernel on. Is for that reason that i've thinked to flash the original firmware on and then re-root the phone!
What do you think about this? Thanks.

According to me, kernel installation requires only unlocked bootloader and having phone in fastboot mode. Root is not needed, because kernel doesn't use ROM files at all.

Hi, first i want to say sorry about my english level and thanks to people who reads my post.
I try to flash mi xperia mini pro sk17, with ..058 version of firmware, unlocked bootloader, rooted and with CWM.
Will follow the step by step instruction, and after instalation my phone is stuck on Sony Ericsson screen and nothing happens about 10 minutes and after then i remove the battery and try to enter in CWM and again nothing happens.
Does anyone have the same problem and how you resolve it ?
Thanks in advance for people who help me !
Respect for all XDA members !
Occured same problem, flashed my phone back to stock firmware until I find a solution.
Anyone has one?
ok...i will try to explain....I believe you have installed nAa-r2 CWM? It is defective CWM since it is put in system/ section... hybrom rewrites this section, thus, when you start recovery from system/ and try to install ROM, you try to erase CWM from under CWM....just update your FW to .62, install custom kernel you like and then make all wipes and install zip from sd card)

Yeah, I think the best way is to update to .62, then install b kernel (made by bbooff himself - unlock bootloader needed) then load Hybrom, then you can install any other kernel you like. But I have problem with X kernel with Hybrom, first one is bootloo and then draining batterry very fast ^^"

the rom is based on 0.62 Kernel, upgrade first to 0.62 then try flashing again, i dont know if this makes a difference but its worth a try
I solved my problem and installed Hybrom v12 now.
First, indeed, you need to have unlocked bootloader and .62 firmware, I used WotanClient to flash the firmware. Then I got other kernel, I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1440161 this one.
Then I entered the Clockworkmod Recovery(press power button one-two times, when the screen goes lighter on turning on). Then I followed the instructions from the Hybrom and successfully installed it.
I got WT19i, but should apply the same.
I've tried to install CM9 in my LWW but ended up in a boot loop
tried wiping everything but it's not helping.
I've also tried to install Ex MiUI4 also same result. got the boot logo but
restarting over n over again.
What am i missing here
I have rooted , BL unlocked 4.0.4 stock rom.
Please guide me to install CM9 in a proper way.
Need some help here guys.
Did you flash the proper kernel?
Hi!
First of all, sorry for hijacking the thread but I'm in a similar situation, so there maybe no need to create a new topic.
Well, I also want to try CM9, but I've got some doubts yet.
My LWW is not rooted nor with bootloader unlocked, and I'm running official ICS 4.0.4.
I've been reading the tutorials/FAQ topic in this section and making some research (many thanks to all the community!:good but just to be on the safe side I need to clarify this.
I really need to root my phone in order to run CWM, which, subsequently is required to flash new kernel and ROM, right?
In case I want to go back to full stock, will I be able to backup stock kernel and ROM, then restore them, then re-lock bootloader, and finally, able to install OTA updates?
Thanks in advance!
You don't have to root and/or install CWM in order to install a custom ROM, that requires custom kernel.
These custom kernels already include root and recovery, so you don't need to install them manually, else you're just wasting your time.
And yes, make sure to install that custom kernel aswell.
Great! Thanks for your answer!:good:
I pretend to install FXP CM9.
Just one more thing... in case I need/want to revert to full stock (kernel+ROM) is it enough to re-lock bootloader and then "repair" in PC Companion? Or will this just mess things up and in that case I would need to install CWM to backup stocks (before flashing new kernel+ROM of course)?
Thanks again!
First flash stock ROM using flashtool. Then, relock bootloader. You can't repair with PC Companion while you're on CM9
Got it!
Thanks a lot for your help!:good:

I have flash the boot.img file inside of the CM9 zip file.
I guess that is the correct kernel ?
these are the steps i have followed.
1.) Boot in to recovery
2.) Wiped all user data, cache, dalvik cache, battery stats.
3.) Installed the cm-9.0.0-RC1-coconut.zip file (it had boot.img file also. should i need to remove it ?)
taken from : http://download.cyanogenmod.com/get/jenkins/3487/cm-9.0.0-RC1-coconut.zip
(haven't flashed the baseband zip yet)
4.) Reboot the phone into fastboot mode.
5.) flashed the kernel (taken from above zip file )
6.) Reboot the phone.
Ended up in Boot loop every time.
You need to flash the kernel. Use Flashtool. Enter fastboot (make sure you have proper drivers installed) and flash the boot.img. Then you'll be able to boot properly
what is the correct kernel would be ?
Sorry, I might have mistaken you. Did you already flash the boot.img via fastboot mode?
Ok, now I remember. I think the provided kernel does not work, it's bugged. You should use another one. I'll search the forum, there are other threads about this. Do the same, you'll find an answer in the first 2 or 3 pages of this forum
Here it is

Yes CM9 kernel is not working, it s bugged.
You should try "FXP 127" or "FXP 128" kernel.
Try FXP 128 because it is the latest one and with less bugs....
You can download it from here....
FXP 128 - CM9

Hi Everyone,
I am using Xperia Neo. My friend helped me in installing custom ics rom from unlocking bootloader step to installing a custom rom.
Now i tried to install a custom rom, but it didnt work even though i followed the right steps.
Now when i tried to switch to the old rom it gives a status 7 error (similar one to this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1805631&highlight=status+7)
From the above thread i got the following steps
Simply flash an official ROM (.ftf) with Flashtool in Flashmode mode;
Flash a correct Kernel (extract it from Cyanogen rom zip, boot.img usually) with Flashtool in Fastboot mode;
Enter recovery CMW;
Perform a full wipe factory reset, and cache wipe nextly;
Finish with applying custom ROM by CWM;
Can someone help me with the first step
Simply flash an official ROM (.ftf) with Flashtool in Flashmode mode;
Is there a thread which has these steps?
Currently I am on a custom kernel and not on the base kernel will that create any problem in doing the first step?
Please help me on this. I am just a beginner.
Thanks in Advance.

Flashing a .ftf in this case implies that you have to flash just the baseband version. u must have flashed the complete firmware. while flashing new baseband you must exclude the kernel. the .ftf file has to be placed in the C:\Flashtool\firmwares directory. also u have not wiped the Dalvik cache.....
Get the ICS Stock rom from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678690
Flash it via Flashtool with stock kernel.
This will flash your phone to Stock rom.
I have installed the latest flash tool and i have also downloaded the Stock Rom.
Now the problem is the device not getting detected, i tried connecting the device to PC while it is in recovery mode and also when it is inside the OS. It is only getting at a point of time when it OS loads and then it again goes undetected.So I am not able to flash the stock rom. I have also installed the ADB drivers from flash tool.
What can I do now? Please help me out...

Maybe u should check first your phone led if there's red light blinking means you are out of battery. Try to charge ur batt. for several hours or just borrow an full charged batt. from ur friend and flash it using flash tool or SUS.

Welcome on the forum :good:
You have to reflash the stock gingerbread rom using flashtool. If you don't know how to do that, please use the search function
In the thread of the rom it tells you not to reboot on locked bootloader, you have to flash the clockworkmodfix.zip first. And did you do the necessary wipes before?
Which kernel were you on ? make sure you flash the correct kernel or the kernel given in the rom thread man
for now try returing back to stock as the above user said

Well @umesh840 i think you are not following the instructions to install the ROM properly..... however if you want to revert back to stock ICS... flash the stock .587 ftf file using the flashtool and flash a Custom Kernel(ex:Kappa 1.6) and then follow all the steps while you are installing a custom ROM
Note: The instructions will be given clearly in the ROM which you are downloading

It sounds like you are trying to flash a custom ROM on a stock kernel... while that might be done, it really depends on what ROM it is.
If you didn't change your kernel and installed CWM in some other way then possibly the reason why you can't go back to CWM is because you corrupted its files with this failed flashing attempt (please someone correct me here if I'm mistaken).
I recommend you flash back your .587 .ftf firmware, flash the recommended kernel for the ROM you are trying, and then flash that ROM from your new kernel's built-in CWM.
Also remember to follow whatever specific steps you need to take from the ROM's thread as there might be some additional work to be done or flash... and it wouldn't hurt to let us know the kernel and ROM you are trying to see if there's anything else...
