As a friend gave me this device, and I have no intention of servicing it (with Verizon), I would still like to give back to the community.
So, this thread, will test, discuss, maybe submit commits back to device tree, etc. the latest and greatest builds for the Droid Eris.
Starting in general as I personally have had nothing to do with development for this device thusfar (please don't needlessly thank this OP).
Experimental builds like release candidates or nightlies are not officially supported; this is just forum talk to attempt to unofficially support you a bit if possible, or get pulse on possible challenges; so that, it can be improved on official tree.
I am not the official tree maintainer, but I do try to assist (and learn) if and whenever possible.

Nice! Thanks for the report (as I don't have an Eris, but am considering flagging my brother's).

Thanks for report
New nightly dropped cm7.2 today [05-20-12].
Seem to be on a monthly build schedule so far; nonetheless, nightly
Also, release candidate 2 was released [in between 04-20 and 05-20 nightlies]. See:

Time to get on my testing goggles.

The rule of CM7 is you don't pester people about CM7 releases and updates. So they'll release it when they feel it's ready.

Sorry, didn't know. Won't ask again.

To answer your question though, the Atrix CM dev team is hard at work (like, realllly hard) and CM7 for the Atrix is currently in Alpha mode, with the team and some select testers working to find and fix the bugs. It's been in Alpha for about a week now I think, and as I've followed their progress a lot of the really big issues have been ironed out (they have cell service now, which was the big one). Soon, perhaps in a couple days to maybe a week or so (can't guarantee), a beta will be out. Not perfect, but out for release! Soon after that, full and virtually bugless versions will be out, and HOPEFULLY they are allowed to do nightlies as the official CM7 team for the Atrix.
I am not trying to be rude, but curious about it. When can I expect AOKP officially support AT&T SGSII? Probably I9100 has to be first officially supported by AOKP, then AT&T version will be supported next.
I know task650 keeps very wonderful AOKP rom. But one feature I miss from official version is keeping old ones. I think task650 updates about every two days, and it is hard to follow his every move.
Love you task650.
You'll know just by following the thread. Task will most likely know first before we would.

Nah
AT&T version means all the bloatware included. AT&T is working on a ICS version for our phones, however the guy they hired to do it has probably never touched a phone before and is the only one working on - hence the reason it is taking so long to get released. They are more worried about new phones then old ones, and this will always be the case.
I also don't think AT&T will ever release a Vanilla build of Android for any phone. Heck even look at the Nexus, even that had some AT&T stuff in it.
I'm pretty sure that the OP meant that he wishes the i777 was officially supported by the AOKP team on their website, which has nothing to do with AT&T.
That said:
1. No one knows when if/when it will be officially supported. I think the AOKP team would need to own the phone first. Regardless, I think Task does a way better job maintaining his build, fixing issues faster than the AOKP team.
2. If you need an archive of older versions, just go to Task's repository: http://goo.im/devs/task650/aokp/i777
I don't believe the AOKP team will ever support the SGS2. If they want to, they already would. Right now, task's AOKP is an official.
Yeah I'd have to agree. Tasks version will be as official as it gets. I won't complain!
I <3 task. No homo.

You got my question right. I used a word "AT&T" to differentiate from international SGSII. Thanks for the link, sort of things I wanted. I just want Task to make a some reference stable version, such as Milestone used in AOKP.

Yes, but he doesn't support them. I think what he's wishing for is a datum build, a build that it is kosher(or even expected) for people to continue using after newer builds are released. Such a milestone build would be supported until the next milestone is released.
This isn't how Task operates though, and it's his rom, his rules. To him every build is a milestone build.

Every build is stable. There are really no major issues or Task wouldn't release it. Minor bugs always are gonna exist. So pick the latest release ans just stick with it for a while. Bam. Stable release. ;-) on a side note old releases are unsupported so if u have a question and yer on an old release it won't be addressed.

Half of these posts are not even on what the OP asked.
Task basically makes it official for our device, it probably won't come our way in another form.
This has nothing to do with AT&T or Samsung firmware for future posts.

I agree. This has been answered to the best of our ability. Frankly, we just dont know if there will ever be any "official" AOKP for our device... but Task is doing a damn fine job giving us as close as we can get.
This new Android distribution treats development differently than any other. This is the fastest source built ROM you will find on this forum, and also the only one to use a custom LLVM 3.4 suite based toolchain globally.

The gapps do, but I don't believe this would matter, as CFXP does not have a phablet UI mode to utilize the P.A gapps ability.
CFXP is designed to be as close to the stock AOSP experience as possible at the moment.

WTF! Why is this rom so fast! I was mindblown! I changed the animations to 0.5 like I always do and I was amazed! you may say that its because of the animations that gave the impression that this rom is fast but no! there is absolutely no loading time! It shows up in an instant. Wow. Using the stock kernel because I cannot flash any other kernel because it gets stuck st the bootscreen. But wow. I have tried almost all the roms here and the speed blows them all. I like featurepacked roms but I was intrigued by this and tried it for my flashing needs. I did not expect this speed at all. Great job synergye and teamEOS! I am hoping I can flash other kernels in the future though! Thank you!
Hell yeah ! I was waiting for this since soo looong
And a Rom devlopped by Synergy and maintained by Roach can only be awesome !
Waited for this since SR15. This will sure be a good day! Thanks a lot to all devs involved
Did anyone of you successfully flash other kernels? all I want is to change the colors. The rom is perfect for me.

I saw on Android Police over the weekend that the AOKP Team has finally released Milestone 2 of their 4.2.2 rom and it now includes all the GS4 variants.
I was wondering when someone might be posting about how it's working for them.

I mentioned it simply because I saw the Android Police article. And yes, it has moved into the official line up of supported devices as of 7/21. I understand the AOKP home is rootzwiki but thought it should be mentioned here with all the rest of other ROMs being developed.
Thanks!

Im curious on this as well as I saw the news today on it. I was waiting on CM to produce a stable version, but say this and thought it might be something to use in the mean time. Anyone have any experience with it?

Go to the rootzwiki thread, look for BMc's 7/14 build. Has working IR blaster. It isn't officially supported, so it's not in the milestone. Nothing is noticeably different between his 7/14 and the official milestone.

I am using CyanogenMod's cm-10.2-20130814-NIGHTLY-quincyatt on my Note and I am wondering why it was the only 10.2 nightly offered? There seems to be continued development and releases of the 10.1 series of ROM's. What have I missed here? I runs pretty good on my phone I have some issues with the screen coming on from sleeping or just being turned off (the screen not the phone) and some occasional random reboots. I am excited to see the 10.2 line progress but I guess I'm just confused as to why there was only one nightly released and the 10.1's continue. Anyone have any thoughts or insight? Thanks.

I'm using the above mentioned ROM. I have used CyanogenMod since the 7.0 releases and it always seemed like when they released a new version nightly, the only progressed with the new version for nightly release. The stable release is a different story. I actually read this on their forum just yesterday I think.

I have been curious about that too. Never seen that before out of CM, however, I have a Nexus 7 3G, and there is no 4.3 CM for it either, so don't feel left out.
I think nightly roms are experimental where they update an issue or a problem gets fix after they get a log cat...they are not official as of yet.I think that's what they mean by nightly...if u try the new pacman 4.3 that one says OFFICIAL..im a tmo user so I can't flash it yet...hopefully a dev can get us a 4.3 official rom on my end.... Hope what I wrote helps...

I'm running the 10.2 nightly from 8/14 as well, and have been pretty happy with it (HUGE thanks to the developers, so much better than the crap stock ROM I was running, which Samsung/AT&T only updated once over a year ago). This one is 4.3, which is very nice, and pretty much the same as the CM 10.2 (JB 4.3) I'm running on my ASUS TF700T tablet. But, I was also curious about if/when any new nightlies might be released in this 10.2 line. I'm not complaining at all, just curious, since there are a few buggy things (mainly what was mentioned by the OP, often doesn't wake up on first try, and some random reboots).

No.
A nightly can be anything from bug fixes to adding in a completely new feature to try. Once those get worked out it moves up the release stability chain.
Official means whatever build, nightly, release candidate, stable release was compiled by a member of the dev team.
Unofficial is someone taking their (whatever Rom dev team it may be) git source and compiling a build themselves.

Thanks. I guess I wanted to stick to what I could get "officially" via the CM site, but maybe I'll check these out.
That's understandable.
The builds are identical though using the same github source that the cm build servers do.
You can set it up yourself and build too. The instructions are in the cm wiki for quincyatt.
