Hello! My uncle's Xperia X10 swum in orange juice for around 20minutes in his bag 2 weeks ago. Now he gave his phone to me so I can try to fix it. What I did was, a full teardown. I put the motherboard and all the other parts into a big bowl of dry rice. I put it in there 7 hours ago but I want to leave it in there for like 2 days more.
I tried to power it on ONCE. It vibrated and continusely shows Sony Ericsson in the middle of the screen (with low brightness level). That's the only thing it shows me.
I quickly shut it down to prevent further damage.

Hey guys. on saturday night. the hero my gf had was dropped into a toilet.
i managed to get it back the following day
and ive head it in a bag or rice ever since then
i took it out this morning to have a look and i tried power button and nothing happened.
i plgged it into usb to see what was up and the charge light came on. however when i press the power button the charge light goes off and the phone does nothing

I'm anything but an expert, but it's likely the water has got into the screen area and other parts and possibly short circuited it?
my X10 got a bit wet in the rain the other day - I had it in my purse but it was raining so hard it soaked through. The battery did not appear to get wet.The phone died after that. I put it in rice, turned it on, and was relieved it was working.
suddenly turned itself off minutes later. When I tried to turn it back on, it vibrated but nothing happened. I could very faintly see the Sony Ericsson words in the background but the screen was not backlit or anything and it never moved past that in the startup.
Charged the battery - LED light was on. Turned it off overnight and put it back in the rice in case of a little moisture left. Battery showed 31% this morning then phone just turned itself off randomly after screen timeout and when I turned it back on it showed 72%. I can't repair it through SEUS as it says my phone is up to date no matter what I do. Help!

You could try flashing your phone using flashtool. This is not a SE application but one developed by other XDA members. You can find everything you need to know about it here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
It happened two days ago,i did the rice thing and left it for 48 hrs,
today i did a test and i figured the following :
when i hold the power bottom,the battery icon appears (as empty) for a second and then disappears, at first it was a loop, right now it does this for one time.
when i connect the phone to a charger,the phone starts the (charging state) and the battery appears to be full,at this stage i hold the power buttom and the phone starts perfectly and smoothley,i dissconnect the phone from the charger and phone is working with no problem and the battery is full as i left it before the water damage situation.
Is it the battery or the phone itself...???
do i have to leave the phone back on the rice for a while..??
'The Rice Thing' Whats that, urban legend?
Rice will not work. It is an urban legend. The back of the phone has to come off, not the battery cover, the phone back (7 screws). Carefully pry around the back of the chrome bezel and remove. Blow it out with canned air (the phone not the back cover). Soak in denatured alcohol for 5 minutes. Blow it out again. Leave it alone in a warm place for 3 days. Put it back together and fire it up. If it does not work you may have shorted a component on the motherboard. If so, sell it on eBay and cut your losses.
Trying to use a phone that has not been dried out properly will ruin it eventually. Even just leaving a charged battery in it will ruin it as well even if it is not on.
I have X10 that i bought from a friend. Last month i dropped it when i was on the beach. I Quickly remove the battery and wash it with clean water because i heard that salt water will damage my phone.then i leave it to air for about 2 days, I didn't dissasemble it because i was affraid. Then after 2 days i power up my phone then it backs to normal (there is some kind of water trace on the screen but everything works normal).
After about a week, i charged it but it won't charge at all. I have to remove the battery,put it back after 5 mins and recharge to do it. After about a month I was playing mp3 using headset and went to sleep but what i found on the morning is my phone turned off. I thought the battery has run out of power, I charged it but nothing happens,even the LED won't show a red light. I brought it to SE but they won't repair it because my friend bought this phone at hongkong not in my country. I decided to fix it my self,i tear down the phone and found that the cover of the ICs are rusty, not all of the cover but only some. I try to plugged in the charger to the micro usb slot on that teared down condition and what i found is the power management IC (qualcomm PM7540) got hot.
Could anybody help me?what should I do?
Did you stick it in uncooked rice. I did it when I dropped mine in sanitized water. Left it in for a full 24 hours and my x10 works like a charm. Try it. Just be careful to get ALL the rice out before powering it back up.

thx for your reply,i have tried it last night.but only for a night because I'm sure that it is already dried ( I leave it to air for about a week ). Still it won't powered on,looks like short circuit problem. My friend told me that i should buy a new mainboard but it cost so damn high. I just want to know if there is another way to fix it.
Now, for this device already is late to help, but for the future, to other users such advice:
If your device visited salt water, then
1. Take off a back lid and battery
2. Carefully and repeatedly wash in the distilled water all parts
3. Dry up to the complete drying out at a temperature 40 ะก

I took it to a phone repair place who pulled the back off and dried it out mostly, but as they were unfamiliar with the phone didn't want to proceed further. It's since been 2 days since it got wet so i tried plugging it in. The charge light started flashing which was the first sign of life i'd seen from the phone. I tried turning it on, the screen came on with a faint black very briefly with a short vibration also. The phone promptly shut off again and now not even the charge light is showing anymore.
What would be the best thing to do from here? I thought about getting a replacement screen however it takes at least 2 weeks to ship to Australia from any of the vendors I've found online. Would the replacement screen be worth it, or is the issue something else?

It's completely damaged.
Screen got shorted out from the water and motherboard is damaged based off of the nonresponsiveness / partially damaged response of the Android OS.
It progressively got worse because the water caused corossion of the metal components.
Sad to say it's completely unsalvageable except maybe the camera.

Pocophone has no given IP Water Resistance Rating since Xiaomi launched the Pocophone, but only certified Splashproof rating. See the video on JerryRigEverything wherein he did a teardown video and saw all components of the Pocophone and proven no water protection in Type-c port, headphone jack, speakers, etc.
In your case, 30 minutes underwater? It is dead. You can salvage it but not everything.

It wasn't underwater for 30 minutes. It was only underwater for a few seconds, but it was working for about 30 minutes after it got wet, and then shut down completely. I have taken it to another repair tech who got it working again, it is responsive/vibrating however the screen is still dead. Any recommendations for a replacement screen?
Place it in a sealed bag full of rice for at least 24 hours.

How deep was it? Where did it fell from?
What was the outcome ? Have exact the same accident

Hello,
could you mabye say if the display replacement worked for your pocophone? I had exact the same accident (phone fell in 2-3 centimeter salt water, worked for 30 minutes, after then screen went off, charging light is working).
Now I know what sould have to do first: turn off the phone immediately. Second mistake, I did not save the holiday photos on external storage, just on internal.
All data maybe is lost...
