Some days ago, my o1 fell down but it doesn't semmed to have broke anything. The phone was acting perfectly normal.
Yesterday, i tried to charge it via AC and USB but none of those had any effect. I tried diferrect cables, different computers and wall sockets. None worked. Also, no computer detected the phone.
I tried different roms (G-T-R and PerfectPeso). Adb didn't recognized it neither did the kdz updater (was trying to get back to stock rom).
However, i discovered that the battery can be charged if the phone is in emergency mode, and this is why i haven't lose my hope yet (if it can be charged this way it means it might not be a hardware problem, right?)
Help, guys, don't know what else i can try.
Sorry about my English.
Thank you.

best solution: lg service center
Sent from my LG-P500
Well, i went to the nearest authorized technical support and after some time waiting i was told that it may be a software problem and that it would cost me a value that ive calculated to be greater than 25% of the money i've originally paid to buy the phone. Also, for "some reason" the technician couldn't run his repair software.
Tried flashing a rom with a different version of android (CM9), it didn't work. Discovered that i can't restore, in a nadroid backup, the cache partition or the sd-ext partiton (i'm not sure of wich one), or i'll have bootloops.
Really, should i give up?
WHATEVER HAPPENS INSIDE YOU PHONE DOESNT MATTER AT ALL MAIN POINT IS THAT IT SHOULDNT BE VISIBLE
IF THIS IS YOUR CASE GO ,GO TO LG PEOPLE AND SAY please repair it
This is the best method adopted by any dev to overcome any majour problem in our beloved optimus one
njoy
EDIT :
I think you shouldnt get it repaired if its costing more than 25% as its technology is now very old and its not worth that much
Save some money and buy a new android phone
Well, i'm kinda out of options now, since i was stolen today and my O1 was taken from me =\
Btw, tha Plan B app really works???

Problem:
After flashing to 2.3.3 x10i on my x10a after a couple of months the phone _stopped_ charging (and giving any kind of usb connectivity to the computer too).
I was trying to use : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054818
However for it all to work I need to have my phone rooted (which it isn't).
I could not find any way to root the phone locally (Gingerbreak just said "exploiting" for half an hour and didn't anything). ZergRush requires adb from a computer over usb, but usb doesn't connect in anyway :/
I am a bit constrained in terms of battery since I have only 50% left to get this phone back to life.
I'm very knowledgeable in regard of linux so throw anything at me guys.
It seems to me like I would need an another exploit all together to actually pull this off.. but I'm hoping that you guys have some slightly easier or better ideas..
Thank You!
That happened to me man, it's not actually a problem with your ROM, it's probably with the phone itself.
Some XPERIA X10 phones went off the to market with USB connectivity problems. I had to ship mine to warranty to get it solved, and the only option they ended up with was giving me a new phone.
I wouldn't worry much about rom, my phone took a little while to come, but they disregarded any root/software-related loss of warranty, as the problem was with the hardware itself.
Try contacting the store where you bought your phone and they will aid you in replacing it. In case your warranty is already expired, you can always send it to the tech and ask them for the replacement of your USB connector, it's not very expensive. The values I got in Brazil were R$150,00 (~U$75,00).
Anyway, rest assured it's factory malfunction. Just search Sony's forums and you'll see lots of people with the same issue.
Peace
I have been running Siyah 1.7rc1 dual booting Omega v30 as primary and AOKP milestone 1 as secondary. I also have the 4.2 camera and keyboard mods installed. The phone has been working fine until last night.
Last night the phone was fully charged. This morning the phone was off and wouldn't turn on when I pressed the power button. Hoping it was just a depleted battery, I put the phone on the charger for a couple of hours. However, it still won't turn on. I can't get to either recovery mode or download mode with the vol_up+home+power or the vol_down+home+power.
There is no reaction from the phone to any combination of buttons. I have removed the battery a few times with the same results.
Does anyone have any ideas? I might try and see if Samsung service can fix this but wanted to know if there was any advise from XDA.
Well if you do want to go to samsung service """ you have a freaking rooted phone bro"""""",,,BTW your phone is dead.
As repair is chargeable i would first try a new battery or borrow one and a USB jig to boot to recovery mode .

*sob*
Mine has gone exactly the same way.
Had it on charge. Took it off charge and checked emails then left it on my desk. Came back 30 minutes later, picked it up and phone was completely dead.
No light when plugged into a charger, phone won't power on.
Plugged it into a computer, no luck.
Different chargers, different cables, no luck.
Tried a USB jig, no luck.
I've NOT tried a new battery yet, that's next on my list. I suspect this won't make any difference either.
I suggest you send it to samsung bro.
happened to my phone too.
They won't find out you rooted/have custom ROM etc, cause this is caused by hardware failure. They'll need to replace it to get it to boot, so they can't tell if you rooted or not.

take it back to the shop first, if you havent had it too long them may just swap it out. If not then they will send it back for you and should lend you candybar phone to use if you leave them a deposit (depends on the shop though).
Sammy wont even both to check if its been rooted, they will just replace it.
Thanks both. I'm going to send it straight to Samsung as soon as I've found proof of warranty. Hopefully it won't take too long to sort out.

I did try using a friend's battery. No go. I saw another thread on XDA where a bunch of people seem to have hit the same problem in the last week. I am wondering if it is some time-triggerred bug?

I've just got round to trying a friends battery too. Likewise, no go.
I think it's probably more likely a design flaw on Samsungs part.
I wonder if they've produced a different revision of the S3 circuit board to fix it? I've heard on other threads that Samsung just replace the system board when it's sent back for warranty repair...
Well there certainly has been quite a lot of them over the last 4 weeks or so. Probably some sub-standard motherboards found their way into the production line every now and then (given the number of units produced), or a design flaw as noted above. It's going to be a reasonably expensive exercise for Samsung if they end up having to replace a lot of them though...
I just hope that the new one they put in my phone isn't going to commit suicide again in 4 months time

I have the exact problem.
But it was my fault in this case. Flashed an "unmatched" md5 file of WanamLite.
It booted up normally. Then i proceeded installing TiBu & restore apps. After 10mins, i came back with a dead phone.
After some googling & advice from phone shops, there's a possibility that the motherboard may be fried.
I sent to Samsung Service Centre, and within 2 working days, my S3 is alive.

Hello all... After reading some threads I felt like I needed to start my own to clarify some things...
I have a friend who has a Galaxy SII (I9100) and she had some trouble with it...
SHe mentioned that her phone started acting erratic, freezing and saying that she didnt have enough memory (she only had 10 apps downloaded after a restore) and suddenly the phone restarted and a message saying that encription had failed. since I'm the one who fixes phones at work (from blackberry to iphone) she asked me if I could fix it.
The phone had pretty much like 80% batt left so I did what every mortal with a bit of knowledge would do... READ! I searched and the solution was to flash it with a newer firmware. I got the latest from SAMMOBILE and proceeded... For the record, the phone could get into recovery but recovery was messed up saying that a bunch of files were corrupt. I tried wiping and it showed an error message, so I proceeded to put it in download mode and set ODIN. Everything was going great... phone was detected,.. the process started.. Halfway through Odin FAILED... I restarted the phone and it didnt do anything... (crapping my pants started then...)
I started reading again (remembering the famous SDS on s3) and in different forums said that possibly some s2 came with the sds flaw and that that might have been my case. however, I always try to get more opions...
I tried using a USB JIG (which worked beautifully in other s2's that I have fixed) to no luck... With the battery in, the phone gets warm around the camera, but the usb jig doesnt do a thing...
So, I'm torn in two... My friend says that she thinks that the USB port was not working properly (she forgot to mention that at first) and sometimes it would appear af it nothing was connected and she had to jiggle the conector. I'm taking the phone to a service center tomorrow to check the port, but that is a pricey thing here in Venezuela... My second option is to sell it for spare parts...
Can I hear your opinions? Is it really hard bricked? Is it SDS?
I don't know which firmware it was running, and my friend doesnt know... my best guess is 2.3 since it's the one it came with and she never updated...

Is she hot?
It seems that she was on 4.0.4, so yeah, bricked because of the wipes.

ok... I assume it's bricked... but is it unbrickable?
Kinda...yeah; you'll need a mobo change.

Lol no, if it's because of the emmc brick bug then, maybe if you can still access recovery some repartition techniques might work but still don't get your hopes up, but if you have a faulty port then it will further worsen your situation.
Sent from my GT-P6200 using xda app-developers app
It all points to brick bug, never wipe on 4.0.4 (nor back up/restore).
She can claim warranty, samsung is to blame for this bug
Sent from the little guy
Well.. warranty will not work... the phone is like 2 years old and in our country this doesnt work for impored phones... it was not bought from a carrier.
Huguito's legacy, try an usb jig.
You've got nothing to lose.

I have a USB jig which ha worked with another S2, S3, Note... but it is not working... I think I may have an issue with the USB connector... Any way, will try something tomorrow... and if it doesnt work, will sell it as spare... Thanks all for the comments...
Let me know how much would you like for it, was it made in Korea?

Hello ladies and gents,
I am trying to help my fiancee revive her completely dead Amaze. This phone, unlike my own, is completely stock. No recovery or ROM flashing or S-off etc. It's straight from Wind Mobile (though around 22 months old at this point).
What happened: Phone was low on battery, so it was left plugged in to charge. Seemed fine. Going back to it a couple hours later, and it was died, which was odd since it was plugged in. Now it does not turn on at all (no HTC or carrier splash, recovery boot [vol down + pwr] does nothing), and the LED behind the speaker does not illuminate to indicate charging (no flashing, either).
Plugged into my computer, I get the "QHSUSB_DLOAD" device identifier, but using the brickdetect.sh script from the Unbricker thread doesn't detect anything. Likely because this has nothing to do with S-off bricking, but since I found that thread via the QHS string, I figured trying to detect it was worth a shot.
I would really love to be able to revive this device. The fiancee is back in school right now, so my income is the only one. Spending several hundred dollars on a new phone is just a kick in the pants while trying to manage already frightening wedding-related expenses. :/
What I have tried:
- Tried cleaning the battery terminals (battery and phone side) on my device
- Tried charging both on USB and wall charger for several hours (no change, no LED, no boot, no recovery boot)
- At my carriers store, I tested a known-good battery in our device, same behaviour
- Tested our battery in a known-good Amaze, after after a longer initial charge (battery was completely flat), that device booted with our battery.
- Tried booting into recovery, no luck
- Tried following steps in several other XDA Amaze and Sensation threads, and didn't get anywhere.
- I've ordered a new battery and external charger, but I'm not hopeful due to the above testing
What I haven't tried:
- Because I am still trying to get my Credit Card Extended Warranty to cover repair replacement, I have not opened the insides of the device. This thread proposes removing and replacing a battery on the mobo to get it to reset itself. I have not tried this yet.
- Anything to do with JTAG. While I've flashed ROMs and such myself many times on my own devices, I've never ventured into JTAG territory before.
What I want to know:
- Primary: What else can I try to diagnose what is wrong with this Amaze, and if it is recoverable?
- Secondary: Unfortunately we have photos on the internal memory (not SD-card) that are not backed up. If the phone cannot be revived, is there any way for me to get into the internal storage to try to recover those photos? This would be more of a challenge project. We can live without the photos, though she'll be disappointed. I'll be the hero if I can get them back, even if it means destroying the device permanently.
Thanks in advance for anyone who may have suggestions. I'm heading to bed for the night, but I'll check this tomorrow and test out any theories.
Does anybody have any theories I can test out aside from some sort of hardware failure on the mainboard?
What OS are you running on your computer. Try looking for the device in Ubuntu, maybe it'll find it there.
Windows 8 and 8.1 have issues with the drivers and software.

I'm using Windows 7 (64-bit), but I also tried using the Ubuntu 10.04 based Live CD (PHToolz?) from the Unbricking thread, and it didn't detect anything at all (tried with and without automount enabled).
Reading what you said again, I'd say that it's a manufacture defect. It could be a wide list of things actually, hard to pinpoint.
In regards to recovering your photos and other files on the phone's storage itself, I don't think you can recover it at all.
The best bet right now is to get it exchanged if it's still under warranty (I'm assuming you didn't void the warranty by unlocking bootloader, attaining S-Off or flashing any custom roms/kernels/incompatible zip files e.g. A rom meant for another phone)
If it has warranty, don't give up hope.
hi guys please help me out. my phone is not starting. today morning i just check my cell its working fine, i restarted it & from then its not working boot screen is getting stuck . this happens 3 times after then my cell is completely stuck

I'd be very surprised if they fix it by 'flashing it with new software', normally in these instances you'd be looking at a motherboard replacement. They may be referring to a JTAG, and your phone might be one of the lucky instances where that's possible.
Either way, if you didn't back your data up, you won't be recovering it.

thanks for the reply, well dont know what are they reffering to but they are saying phone will be fine but they cant save the data
is there any best or paid recovery software from which i can get back the data, its even very scary because that backup software will also show very old unwanted data too
Nope. The only very rough chance you may have is to contact a company who specialises in recovery of data from dead hard drives (Google search). Very unlikely to be able to help & will be very expensive if they are able to.
