Hi folks,
I want to develop a custom lockscreen for android ICS tabs. From what i googled it seems that there are two ways:
1. develop custom homescreen with some lockscreen mechanism (which can take PIN from user and show user home after validation) using standard SDk APIs.
2. Develop a custom lockscreen, replacing default one with it using flashing at OS level.
can you please help me out, also which of two will be more efficient sdk api's or modifying ROM (im not planning to put it on market anyway ) , also can please point me to refrences where I can start learning android development (ROM customization and sdk).......
thanks in advance ......

After trying out several 4.1 and 4.2 based ROMs for my Galaxy S II, I would like ROM Developers to add some additional features in Android 4.2 based ROMs if possible. The features are:
1)Add Smart Stay and Smart Rotation features.
2)Multi Window
3)Add advanced camera features(Burst mode,Physical button for clicking photos etc)
3)Faster and a more smoother interface(similar to that of Nova Launcher).
4)Addition of folders in app drawer which can be pulled onto the home screen.
5)Aroma Installer with options to install each and every app and even launchers.(No default launcher for the ROM as such)
I know its not easy to do all this but since you are geniuses at doing great stuff, please try this out too..
Thanks
Here's an Idea:
1- Change topic to "ROM wishlist"
2- delete that introduction.
3- Ask a mod to move this thread to the general section.
4- by doing all the above you'll get a thread of your own.

Okay, I'm developing custom rom for Micromax Canvas Tab P650. I want to do something different so as I have completed it 75%, I want to change animation that occur when Android version is tapped often. Yes, I know its not an animation but I want to modify it into an .MP4 or any format video that will occour if tapped often. maybe I think its from setting application, But a developer can also modify an app hh? So, just if there an windows app or an android app, if not should be developed? Whatever I'm just a noob so I didn't wan't any hard method that took away my lot of brain. And I'm just new to XDA Developer Forum. Thanks..
Is the custom ROM developing completed?
Hey everyone,
at the moment im switching between AOSP Android L and FlymeOS 4.
I really love some flyme apps especially the camera (because of filters), the calculator, sms app and file explorer.
But i don't want to miss the smooth, battery friendly experience of android l.
so my idea was to port the apps i want from flyme to android l. i found some tutorials, but the necessary pictures aren't available anymore.
anyone have an idea how to do the easiest way? i stuck at finding the correct libs and jar files. and if its possible to use flyme apps with the original framework-res.apk of android l or if i have to combine these?
i don't think that anybody portet these apps, so probably you could help me or give me the needed informations
thanks
nobody any ideas?
