I have a Galaxy Ace s5830m rooted with acegingerroot. Id like to know once and for all if this phone can run 3d games like Nova etc. I've installed and tinkered with chainfire but white screens,crashes and garbled graphics are all i get. (i tried without chainfire btw, same result).Before rooting same result as well.
I can find nothing on the net regarding this model of the galaxy ace which makes me suspect i wasted time and money.
Im on gingerbread 2.3.6 stock

I found a flash that puts it back kinda to stock, then you know your phone has no errors so then you can go back to rom huntin, then start making backups from every decent rom you find.

The ace is very much capable of running 3d games. Some run OK (Asuasins creed, nfs shift, hero of Sparta) some of them lag. Just make sure the games are compatible with armv6 processor and the game videos are MP4.
Look around on the web and you'll find lots of games ported to armv6 to work on the ace (with caution, since a lot are warez, and many warez can cause crashes or put malware on your phone)

I recently downloaded Gta III From the market But there is significant Lag
(I am using Cm7 With Full Oc)
But I have seen videos on youtube Of people playing Gta III on their Optimus one.

GTAIII Optimization
There's two ways I can think of making it run smoother.
1. Chainfire3D. It's a root app, found in the market, whose sole purpose is to enable games on devices that wouldn't normally be able to play them. You have to buy it to unlock everything, but I've been able to use the free version on my Moto Droid to play GTAIII better.
2. Delete the audio folder. Once you have everything downloaded, manually delete the audio folder. If the phone isn't constantly trying to play music or SFX, it will run a bit quicker.
The specific apk isn't going to matter, unless rockstar made huge optimizations to code in recent versions, but as you've DLed from the market, that shouldn't matter, no? Overall, I'd recommend against trying to run it. The optimus isn't really made to handle 3D games in general, much less GTAIII. Good luck, though.

Go there, download game that is around 70-90MB, and apk, and do the same what you did with original!
Graphics are pretty bad in this one, and there is often a bug where you will after 20m in front of yourself see only some pink wall, and ofc no sound...
But runs better, still lagged pretty much on mik_os 6.5.7 but now will test it in PerfectPeso2.2 and see how it is. With full game, on PerfectPeso, it didn't lagged so much like on the rest of the ROMs so I expect this one to run smootly now...
And yeah, just overclock it until kernel starts to reboot, i got mine stable on 825Mhz, on 844 it runs about 1 hour, and on 864 it got nearly 10min in mik_os 6.5.7, but now on PerfectPeso there is no option to go beyond 806mhz...:/ But still frikin fast!
UPDATE: yeah on PerfectPeso2.2 fresh installed no tweaks ripped version will run almost lagless, 15-25fps, but totaly playable! And no pink wall bug anymore!!!
Tried this game a while back and the result was the same... The lag made the game unplayable..
Tested it on CM7. PerfectPeso2.2 sound's good from what you say, but will not change the rom just for a game .
Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour is on the horizon. I'm really hoping the galaxy player can handle it as modern combat I think is the best game from Game loft. What are your thoughts on MC4 and it running on the player?

On topic: Games work on the Samsung Galaxy Player? While I joke a bit, I am serious at the same time. The only games I have been able to run on the Samsung Galaxy Player are the Rovio games (angry birds, alex) and Sonic CD aka 2d games. Games I use to play on Android that were my favorite were Dead Space, Mass Effect Infiltrator, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, and numerous other richly graphical games just run out of memory, freeze, crash, or reboot the device. This could be because almost every custom rom breaks games in general on the Galaxy Players - I'm on the Ethereal Rom only to have better battery life.
I'm only holding out because I don't want to set up everything again and await the ICS rom/kernal us 4.0 users have been patiently waiting for.
Stock rom btw has everything working because I played them before rooting - especially the games I mentioned above. If anything, if the ICS rom/kernal doesn't meet my expectations - I'll revert back to stock and stay there with a custom Launcher like Go or Holo, only to keep root and use Klin R3 or Terrasilent for kernal to have Voodoo.
So imo, if you have a custom rom on your device, don't count on MC4 to work... MC3 doesn't...
Yes. I do find that (no offence devs) that my performance has dropped a bit on the gaming side of things. However Asphalt 7 runs real nice and before I switched to Remics-UX Nova 3 was smooth as well. However Modern Combat 3 dosn't start at all anymore. But it wasn't the smoothest of all games. It only ran smooth on 2.3. MC4 Looks only a little better graphicsso it might run but I have that gut feeling. I sometimes think "why don't I switch back to 2.3"? And it's hard not to.

so i bought MC4 for my galaxy note n7000 , and the game loads fine but when i start to play it.. and i click the start button at the beging of the first level it loads then when i push the button it just crashes. does anyone have any advise for me.. please.

Technically this isn't the note forum but are you running a custom ROM?
I succeeded it running on Nebula ICS, It walks fine but when in some conflict area, it is so laggy. I think trying it with linrom would be good.

Hi to everyone, i was looking for a good psx emulator to my sgs3. I have found that fpse is the most compatible, but i dont manage to get a good perfomance. I have read about many ppl saying they get about 50-60 fps in games using opengl and good stuff, but when I use open gl i get a very low frame rate (from 1-34 depending on setting). For me the only way to get a decent fps for playable games is just "old software drawing".
What am I doing wrong? do i need using chainfire or any other stuff?
PD: im using sgs3 i9300 with stock rom jb 4.0.4 and fpse 0.11.68

Mine was very smooth even at energy saving mode and stock, now I flashed Maximus+ and Elite Kernel and is much smoother with all games, even high end games have no lags so far.
Running ARHD here and games are pretty smooth. Sometimes get a small fps dip, but generally very smooth and no problems. It does run quite hot though.

Renovate Gaming Boost
Works great on One X+ AT&T version that I've got and I believe it works on the other various versions.
Basically playing pinball arcade prior to installing it was all laggy and crappy. After using Renovate Gaming Boost it plays perfectly w/o any slowdown at all. Definitely worth rooting your phone and installing it if you are going to play 3D games that aren't THD optimized.

All you need on a stock rooted phone is the .apk file. I tried flashing the zip first and it didn't work, but, just installing the APK worked perfectly. Full details in the thread that I linked.
Also, make sure you download the version for Jellybean if you are using HOX+ AT&T version. As the 2.1 version is older and meant for ICS.
install PPSSPP from google play store and play all PSP games on your android phone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Search for proper setting for your particular game

I know how to use google and I have been using this PSP emulator since earlier version, as for the forum I know its existence and I visited it many times and read through. And yes, I have play around with all the psp setting too. Just to let you know that I am not someone who is lazy to find answer by googling. The reason I ask people to give reviews about tested games here is because I think it is easier to discuss it over here since all of us using the same phone, also this thread is already here, why can' t we make use of it? I have tried a lot of games, about 30++ , and because it's been long ago so I'm not really remember how was it, but as I remember the games that works well are Bleach Heat The Soul 7 and Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai.

It will be good on s2 i guess, since its not pretty bad on s advance , and yes i think overclocking might help too, but the most important thing is you must know how to play with the settings, different game will have different performance even though with the same settings
