Which one is better SGS II or SGS Advance?
galaxy s2
Xda
For me SGS II
It depends on how much you want to spend on a phone. Obviously the SII is better, but for the price, the S Advance is a great option.
If you don't want to spend too much, I recomend the S Advance. It's a great phone for sure

I deffenetly would go with the S2 ... it has the flash, for one, it runs 4.0 android, it has the better screen, and better look's, from my point o view
in the end, you and only you can decide
Go for the Galaxy S Advance!
There are a lot of requests in the "New section request thread" for this phone - so i think soon there will be some devs picking up that phone.
For comparison:

I rooted mine and removed all the bloatware, installed Go Launcher EX and am very happy now with this device. I don't know what more you want - except ICS...
Also benchmark looks good:

If the amount you pay more is worth 1200 quadrant points then go for the galaxy s2. But I don't know why you need a phone that makes more points in a benchmark - this s advance is fast enough for everything i tried yet...

Galaxy S2 tops galaxy advance in some ways (but most specs are same).
Galaxy S2 only has a little bit higher Ram than Advance (around 300mb more), a lil bit bigger screen (0.3" more), faster GPU and a lil faster cpu (400mhz more...but it doesnt make much difference)

As stated, if you want the better phone . . . the choice is obvious .
I thought I was addicted to changing devices; I used to get a new device about every 3 months. Apparently, I was just waiting on the Galaxy S2; I've had it since release and I'll have it for the duration.
Better than Nexus in Quadrant?! :O

Unfortunately, that's about the changes the special collaboration between the two companes brings to the table. Hardware-wise, the Ace Hugo Boss has not changed a bit from the original. The smartphone still features a 3.5-inch 320x480 pixels screen, 800MHz single-core processor, 5MP autofocus camera and the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microSD slot found on most Android smartphones.

Happily though, the Samsung Ace Hugo Boss runs Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread and will be available pretty soon at selected Hugo Boss stores as well as on their website. There's no official pricing but we spotted a store that has it for about 280 euros taxes included. If you can afford Hugo Boss costumes, that sort of cash should be pocket money to you.

Hi there, I have an xperia x10 and the thing is getting out dated. I would like to switch to the Samsung Galaxy s2 but when I go to look there are like 50 different variants...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_II I go to wiki and it shows me the different ones and who provides them.
I would like one with the 1.5 ghz dual core at the least, or am i mistaken? do I wan the hd screen?
Please help a brotha out, help me find the best sgs2
thanks in advance,
Vader
The lte versions need pricey data plans, the hd lte is only sold in korea, the sprint/tmobile ones wont work on rogers network, so that leaves you with the att i9100, the skyrocket or bell's i9100. Out of those i'd get the bell one since it has a physical home button and the largest userbase, or if you prefer capacitive ones get the att one. The skyrocket has a weaker cpu/gpu.
Look my friend , just buy the regular samsung galaxy s2 (GT-9100)
# it's good phone at the most
# main model not a secondry one e.g (GT-9100G) Or the 1.5 ghz one
# most support as it's the main model
# the 1.5 ghz is not the one that u gonna need it will drain out your battery life and so much heat u should face . Beside the 1.2 ghz works fine and runs all u needs
# when u choose take the most fimiler one to avoid any conflect with any experince
That's just what I see , at the end it's your call
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Psh, the 1.5ghz isn't as efficient or powerful as our 1.2ghz.
$1 gets you a reply
DO NOT get the crapdragon version. The exynos has most of the support and is MUCH faster. I still cant figure out how people are selling the lte version for more in GTA area. please get the exynos.

I came from an X10 as well. Get the Bell GS2. I guess you can get the Telus GS2 (which is the same as T-Mobile but with Rogers bands) but trust me, get the international (Bell) variant.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
Ok so basically we have narrowed it down to Bell or Telus or International because they are the only ones that support the Rogers connection. What I don't get is why the snapdragon is so crappy? Does it overheat? Like usually you think well higher ghz means faster, it is this similar to like Intel cores that have a lower clock but are faster than an amd processor where the clock is higher? Its like a technology efficiency type deal?
Also do I have to switch providers if I buy the bell or telus one? I am planning on just buying the phone outright instead of changing my phone plan...
Thanks for all your guys' help I really really appreciate it!!!

Don't bother with the telus one, it has a weaker soc than the regular sgs2. The bell/internation sgs2 is identical, once you get it simply root the phone and unlock it with the Galaxy_S Unlock app from the market, it'll work on rogers just fine.

Thanks for the input, I know the SGS2 will be getting ICS but I have been keeping my eye on the Galaxy Nexus, it has a really nice screen and I really do enjoy having a great display, but as my x10 has a 8 mpx camera i feel like it would be counter productive in some senses. The galaxy nexus also doesn have as good of a processoror gpu as sgs 2 i wish they would make the galaxy as good as the sgs2.
Also i think the shape and concept of the galaxy nexus is much more appealing than the sgs2. Now im really at a dilema....galaxy nexus, or sgs2.

The better performance in benchmarks is all because of ICS. In my opinion, when SGS2 gets ICS, it beats the galaxy nexus in everything except the screen.
Sold my Sensation and now looking for a good Android device replacement. Main requirement is that it be T-Mobile USA 4G capable & have WiFi calling. Eventually I will hack the phone to remove bloatware of course
What does everyone recommend...? My budget is about 400ish
Thanks!
I would recomend you a Galaxy Nexus, not realy bloated, pure Android and Realy good Hardware.

Both IPad 3 and Samsung Galaxy 3 newly released device and both are very good in terms of design, hardware and software etc. i am just confused to choose between IPad 3 and Samsung Galaxy 3. so can anyone suggest me which is best IPad 3 or Samsung Galaxy 3. so what you all think on this both device comment here...thanks in advance
Both Ipad 3 and Galaxy S III are to completely different gadgets.
Ipad 3 is a 10 inch tablet whereas Galaxy S III is a 4.8 inch smartphone...
Ipad 3 is not a phone in which you can insert a SIM and make calls...but a Galaxy S III is!!
I say you better buy both of them as both are almost different kind of product.

Go with a phablet (Galaxy Note, LG Optimus Vu) if you really can't decide between them
I have an iPad3 and a Galaxy SII. I use the iPad at home, and the Galaxy SII at work and outside. They are different devices but both very usefull and amazing. You need to see your needs and choose.
In my case, I would choose the Galaxy SIII.
as per your thread title galaxy 3 dosent stand a chance to any new mobiles out there
You could also ask, which is better a Ferrari or a truck. Depends on what you want to do.
In general I would not buy a device from a company that puts any restrictions on how I can use my device, what software can I put on and so forth. It should be illegal for companys to do things like phone x can only be used on network a, the gaming console can only run games not linux, you can only use their over-prized accessories.
Specwise, the gpu from the SGS3 isn't as fast as the sgx543mp4+ but it indeed can almost keep up with an IPAD3 looking at those benchmarks

Yeah but iOS is a lighter OS, the iPad 2 runs fine with 512mb. I know this is the reason it doesnt have siri but the point is it runs well, plus it really doesnt make a difference to the end user anyway as iOS manages it well with the multitaking api's

Hi everyone I’m currently debating picking this device up. It seems this device so far has a lot less activity than the Galaxy S2. I’m curious if this is because of the price. I see the tab S2 can be had for about $300 these days and it has a lot of custom development. The Tab S3 on the other hand seems to be a newer device and we have TWRP and some ROM’s but I would hope when Samsung drops support for this device that lineageos or some other AOSP ROM’s would be out for this device. What are you guys opinions on getting the Tab S3 over the Tab S2. Do you thing development will pick up for the S3 in the future? I was really hesitant at first due to the Tab S3’s battery draining Wi-Fi bug but it seems Samsung may have remedied that in recent releases. And I really do like the S pen and that is one of my major motivators to get the S3 over the S2. I see Costco has a sale for the S3 for $470.00 (Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Wi-Fi Tablet - 32GB - Quad Core - Black - with $20 Google Play Credit)

Wifi bug is still very much present but at this point unless Google surprises us with a new Pixel tablet (which does not have it's own share of wifi bugs like the first one lol), there is no other option for a decent spec Android tab.Sucks.
All we really need is the Note 8 hardware on a larger screen, which samsung will release as the Tab S4 with a 10.5" screen next year (I wonder why ? ) , hopefully without any anymore bugs.

Yes I would wait but it seems that tablets have a longer lifecycle than 1 year and Samsung is more on a 1.5 year schedule.
If you want an android tablet now the tab s3 is the best in my opinion. Best and brightest screen, processor( for a tablet anyways) and comes with a spen. The wifi bug isn't that bad the tablet still gets great battery life. I set turn off wifi when screen is off in settings also. Try it for a while..if you don't like it return it.
