Battery- 1500 mAH
As you can see with the exception of the screen, camera, battery and a bit of height/weight they are indeed very similar. I saw a video on youtube with a guy who overclocked his GS1 to 1.7 ghz. Also if you go look at AnTuTu Benchmark v2.8.2 the highest clock speed is 1.8ghz. This got me the thinking that it could be possible with the Galaxy Player 4.0. Any thoughts on this?

It's potentially possible, but not very practical. I've overclocked to 1.7GHz with my Samsung Galaxy Player 5 so far, but I wouldn't keep it at that regularly. I only overclock to 1.5GHz on a regular basis. Any higher is just dangerous and not worth the extra speed.
I'm probably going to scrap modding the SGP5 and just buy a Galaxy Nexus Tablet 7 since that will have more options for getting the most power out of it with the quad-core proc + more RAM, etc

Well if the 5.0 can do I'm sure the 4.0 can too. I was just wondering that's all. Also can you tell me what did you get in quadrant? The only thing about the Galaxy Nexus Tablet wrong is that there's no micro usb. To me that was a very bad move on Samsung's Part. It makes no sense imo.
I've had my 5.0 to 1.7ghz as well, but backed off because the players lack a cpu temp sensor. I run mine daily at 1.5 but I have no idea what the 4.0 is capable of.
If the 4.0 uses the Hummingbird CPU and it's rooted I believe the Tegrak Overclock can do the work.

i had 4.0 (returned due to brick but getting it again i had mine overclocked at 1.2 it can go further in tegrak but ive only gone to 1.2 since most 4.0 roms are already overclocked to 1.2 and i only go to 1.3 when playing a game but you can go higher i dont know to what since i dont have the paid version of tegrak

ASUS makes the nexus 7 tablet. I think it is possible. Never done it and I don't see a reason to. The device is fast enough with 1 or even 1.2 ghz.

NONE of the 4.0 ROM's are default overclocked, as overclocking has more to do with the kernel then the ROM.
To the OP I run the terrasilent kernel on my 4.0 and use the app "no frills cpu" it allows for a 1.2 Ghz overclock and more importantly allows "apply on boot" for free, tegrak will go higher but you'll need to buy the ultimate version to do it and have it "apply on boot".
Yes I believe Hanthesolo Actually went up to 1.5GHz but even still if you flash a custom kernel it will by default run at 1.2GHz

Yes and No, yes Han has pushed his to 1.5Ghz but BY DEFAULT it's the stock 1Ghz NOT 1.2Ghz no matter what ROM or Kernel you run on the 4.0, you must use an APP to overclock, the kernels simply give you the ABILITY to overclock.
No Frills CPU will let you do 1.2Ghz and apply on boot for free
Tegrak will do 1.3Ghz but has to be manually applied for free
Tegrak Ultimate will go higher but you have to buy it

What was your Quadrant Score?
Hi my frieSnd I write from Colombia , I think buying the Sansung Galaxy Neo Duos , tell me all about this phone.
Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 16GB
CPU / Procesador Samsung Exynos 4412 / ARM Cortex-A9 MPcore
Clock Procesador / QUAD CORE 1400Mhz 32bits Quad-Core
Memory RAM 1GB LPDDR2
GPU ARM Mali-400
Samsung I9300I Galaxy S3 Neo
Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo Duos GT-i9300i
CPU / Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8228 / ARM Cortex-A7
Clock Processor/ 1400Mhz 32bits Quad-Core
Memory RAM 1,5GB LPDDR2
GPU Qualcomm Adreno 305
Is better the S3 neo than S3 International?
Has better performance S3 neo than S3· international?
Is better the processor the S3 neo than S3 international?
How is about the duration of the battery?
How is about the camera? Take good pictures of day and night?
Has lag the dialer?
It is fluid? it is very fast with Android 4,3?
How is the screen? is bright? what about the colors?
Thanks you.
Most of the changes in the neo compared to original I believe are under-the-hood changes. The neo is better in the sense that its CPU and GPU are newer, more powerful than the original and along with more RAM, you'd have a pretty powerful phone. The clock speed on the neo I think is actually 1.2ghz compared to the 1.4ghz on the original(shouldn't make too much of a difference). As far as I know the camera, screen and battery are all the same on both devices. Camera 8mp (don't think they changed the sensor), screen 720pHD super amoled on both and 2100mah battery on both too.
1. S3 neo is better spec wise.
2. Not sure I don't have a s3 neo but I guess performance "should" be better.
3. Processor is better - newer but has lower clock speed.
4.battery is good from what I've seen in reviews
5. Camera excellent during the day, okay at night
Jellybean is generally smooth, but better when you root and remove bloatware.
However, the s3 international has plenty more support on xda with many custom Roms/kernels than the neo does.

Can i get ubuntu touch on my samsung galaxy centura running version 4.0.4?
Sorry... It looks like the phone's spec is below the threshold. I'm not sure anyone could port a version to your device.
Re: 1 core CPU @ 800 MHz, 512 GB RAM
Hi,
I was just wondering: is there a difference between the Galaxy Alpha's Exynos 5 Octa 5430 processor and the Galaxy A7's Exynos 5 Octa 5430 processor? Judging by the name, they do have the same processor, but I recently watched a speed comparison between the two devices, and the Alpha was faster compared to the A7. Of course, the A7 is considered as a mid-ranged phone.
Are they the exact same processor, or are they just clocked at different speeds?
(Just genuinely curious They do have the same name, after all.)
alpha is fastter becuse the hd resoliton and a7 is full hd....i recomend alpha ...best phone ever
Alpha is much better phone , No doubt .
Anytime anyday .
Here in india , A7 got Snapdragon 615 Lol
If u want bigger phone ,than Galaxy note 3 is miles better than A7 with almost same price
Its the same processor Exynos Octa 5430
But Alpha is much faster because of 720P resolution
Mali-T628MP6 doesn't good on 1080p Full HD
See Note 3 Exynos Version its the same exynos octa 5430 and Mali-T628MP6
Hello, since two days ago the exynos variant of S5 mini G800F (Exynos 3470 Quad 1,4 Ghz) has received 5.1.1 TW from Samsung and I want to know if this can be ported to i9300 (Exynos 4412 Quad 1,4 Ghz). Two phones has the same CPU Mali 400 MP4. The S5 mini has 1,5 GB RAM and S3 1 GB. I think that 2 processors are similar. Or if S5 Mini can´t be ported, can be ported from Galaxy Mega 2 AT&T G750A that has 5.1.1 since September 2015 (Exynos 4415 1,4 Ghz, MALI 400 MP4). This processor 4415 are from the same family such as : Exynos 4412 (Exynos 4 Platform).
Thank you for your response.
Have a nice night.
It can be done, but it will not run smoothly and there will be tons of bugs. Even though the 2 SoCs are in the same family, they are different under the hood. A good example of this is the Mega 2 firmware from @arter97
Wow it's a surprising news! Hope it can be port to our S3
@Jericho Arcelao Ohh, it´s fantastic that it can be done. I am really surprising.
