I just flashed the latest version of Miui (v4 2.6.15) using the aroma installer but i cant connect to my network. I can see calls coming in but it says the process com.android.phone has stopped and i get a force close.
I edited the build.prop ro.telephony.default_network to 0 from 7 and i also did the *#*#4636#*#* and changed to gsm only but i get the same com.android.phone error .
Does anyone know a way to fix this cause Miui seems much better than the stock rom so far.
I am assuming you are international GSM?

Yeah, Im not in the us
Have you checked the CM9/MIUI fixes thread stickied in the Dev forum? Or the CM9/MIUI questions thread here. There may be a fix in one of those or the old MIUI thread that spleef had before th3bill took over

i tried the miui gsm fix from jokersax site and also the cm9 gsm fix but none of them worked.
did you flash the aroma version or the "normal" one? i think the aroma one has a gsm set up built into it. you shouldn't need any of the fixes as i think they are older for previous versions of MIUI/CM9
Thanks for the help bullfrog527 but i went back to stock cause i needed my phone working although i narrowed the problem down to the miui phone.apk .
Btw, do u know if there is anyway to dualboot so i can have a custom rom along with the stock?
No problem, wish I could have helped more. I don't think anyone has tried or is working on a dual boot, sorry

if you are getting force close problem during an incoming call..go to rom manager and fix permissions..it will work.

The Phone.apk is fine on the rom for GSM...honest. The issue is that you need to flash the rom, then the fix (before rebooting your phone for the first time). This sets your ro.telephony.default-network to 0(GSM)
the stock CDMA is 7
If you have an issue after that, in Dialer, punch in *#*#4636#*#* and go to Phone Info
Check that it's set to GSM auto or GSM only. If it's not, change it to one of those and reboot

so i have been reading through the cm7 and the miui forums. and they both say that the builds have a few problems. such as the market fc. and no radio in cm7.
does anyone know of any roms that are fully stable and everything works.
(i use market and radio alot)
please help
I am using galnets miui stable, everything works. Newest market version is bugged on AOSP ROMs so you need to downgrade it to older.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
how do i downgrade it?, as i remember trying it on my old phone. and the app just updates.
Galnet is pretty good, battery ok and stable. However I can never get CMR backup to work so switching ROMS is a hassle it need not be. MD5 errors with all miui ROMS, they obviously cannot be bothered to fix it.. really annoying.
There is also no service bug, connection drops and you have to kill the dailler or reboot, i still had it in new release but there is a fix for this - although again and very annoying they cannot be bothered to fix this properly, this should be priority number one.

Same issue was there when i flashed Roms using KS (tried CNA,CM9) and tried MUI Rom also still not use. But i was able to use it on stock RoM
If you are getting the force close upon the phone starting resulting in no service, this is normal with the ICS based roms. The last rebase joker did was on version 3.1. Installing anything after that only once will cause this issue. You can do one of three things to remedy this...
1: Use the Kitchen Sink Rom
2: Flash .3.1 first, then the latest version.
3: Flash the latest version, then immediately flash it again. Then install your gapps.
Also, make sure you have Jokers CWM.
Same issue
I was having the same issue, except right when my phone booted up it kept giving me the message that android.process.phone has stopped working, and it wouldn't let me connect to the mobile data network either.

thanks got it.
I just spent the last 6 hours figuring this out and go figure it would be in the Q&A section... Did a fresh stock flash, factory wipe, format cache, dalvik and system. Installed .3.1. Then ONLY wiped the dalvik cache and upgraded to the 6.1 i would stop getting the com.android.phone FC. If i did the factory wipe it would start FCing again.
cdma
akhilesh can you tell me how did you make the cdma work intially on your photon i tried all the methods told by farookhjii and it didnt work

are you asking about CDMA in india ?
I'm currently running SHOStock ICS ROM and I want to change it, but every time I try to flash the CM9 ROM in recovery mode, I get an error-
Installation aborted (Status 7). The first time it happened was after I installed the shostock rom (I had the cm9 before and had no problems installing it).
I tried to update CWM through ROM Manager, but it didn't solve the problem.
What can I do to fix it? I searched the forum but didn't find a solution..
Im not sure exactly how to fix that but I've always read that we should avoid Rom Manager on the i777. You might want to sheck the threads about Rom manager errors. I've flashed every rom out there and never used rom manager and never had any problems.
I used rom manager only to update CWM. I haven't installed any rom with rom manager.
last time i found that error with CM9 was because of the build.prop issue. Our phones run i9100 based ROM's alot, there's a line in the updaterscript that looks for phone model, must remove that **** outta there.
And i must say that CM9 sucks if they still have not addressed this well known issue.
Just flash AOKP.
O and, un install ROM manager, its for idiots.
Does this ROM fully support hebrew? (including menus)

Good question. I would say go ask in the AOKP thread, but you don't have enough posts to do that yet...I'll go ask for you. You can just go read the replies to my post.
Problem solved. I flashed AOKP and it worked (no error) ,but after that I flashed CM9 back (more comfortable for me), works perfect. Thanks for the help.
Hello guys,
I installed CoolICS rom after I was on LeeDroid with Sense 3.0
After installation my phone started rebooting every 30 minutes. I restored LeeDroid one from nandroid backup.
Is it possible that this behaviour is caused by restore of some apps from Titanium Backup?
I was doing some debugging using the Android Monitor from tdk, but right before the reboot there was no error message.
I am running latest firmware and lates 4ext recovery.
I really want to go for ICS or Jelly Bean.
Thanks for your help!
actually it reboots after LeeDroid nandroid restore. Is it possible to be the new firmware?
You should try running Cool ICS for a while with only basic setup and no TB apps restored for while and see if the problem persists. I'm not familiar with the app you mentioned, but have you been able to pull a logcat after you have the reboots?

Hi ramjet73,
I flashed KingCobra3D-ICS 1.6. I installed only 3 apps from the google market. After approximatelly 3.5 hours of uptime, I got a reboot. Unfortunatelly I was not home and i did not get the catlog. Now, I am waiting for reboot to happen again and will attach the catlog here.
Thanks for help.

sounds like its your firmware dude. i had an issue like that as well. get a freeza all in one zip for radio and reflash your radio but find one that is for your setup. it looks like you are GSM is that correct?. just my opinion or if your using a modded kernel make sure your not going to far up on overclocking it can cause bootloops.

Hi man,
Thanks for answering.
I flashed the suggested firmware in the post for the ROM I am using:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647674
I downloaded firmware from the link in Install section on post #1. I am running GSM indeed. I have installed only basic Sense stuff from the ROM without any AOSP functionality.
Since I am not really good in this, may you please advise which Firmware will be OK for me.
As for the kernel - it is the Stock one.
Regards
Hello,
So, I flashed latest Radio from following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1218196
And all is OK now. No reboots . I had uptime of 12 hours and rebooted to perform nandroid backup. Now I am at 5:30 hours uptime.
Thanks for all your help!
Actually, any known issues with Radio 11.77.3504.00U_11.25.3504.06_M
It was the one that made my phone reboot. I rollbacked to 10.53.9020.00_10.13.9020.08_2M - Isn't this for Gingerbread (I am running ICS)
Thanks!
Maybe you can flashing another roms or kernel

Hello,
I flashed 3 ROMs - the same with all of them. ROMs are Evolver 3D, KingCobra 3D (one that i am running now) and CoolICS 3D. With each, I flashed the kernel that came with it. My device was rebooting with all of them. It is only after I flashed 10.53.9020.00_10.13.9020.08_2M . that my device stopped rebooting.
I have been having problems getting a few different roms to work, Viper, CM10, etc.
I have the global version, is there a special rom or patch i can use?

with CM 10.1 there is a GSM patch that you can flash that will enable apn settings i believe, and you also need to select the correct mobile networks settings... as for Viper im not entirly sure, i think if you select the T-mobile option in the aroma installer it will make it GSM compatable
also questions go in the "questions and answers" sub-forum, just for future reference
im pretty sure it was because i wasnt formatting system in recovery. worked fine once i got the tip to do that
