Guys just wanted to get your opinions on this app. Other than not having a physical comic do you guys make frequent purchases, do you like it or not.

It's a cool app to play with, but as a life long comic nerd, I refuse to buy digital comics. I have to have a hard copy. Same with music, I still buy cd's

I use this app. They offer a different set of free comics each week. I have over 30 comics that I didn't have to pay for and most are first issues.

Seeking your opinions, much cherished xda clan...
Just won a 16GB iPad 2 but selling it to a co-worker so I can get an Android tablet.
I'm most interested is using a tablet to read ebooks and comics, browse the web and maybe watch videos. I'd like to keep some cash from the sale so i'm looking to spend $399 max.(ideally $300 or less), prefer 10".
What are your tablet suggestions?

Do you only want Android?
Because I think HP Touchpad runs on WebOs (not sure at all ) but I've heard it's really good.
Yeah, just Android...but the Touchpad can run Android...

There are some good games on the daily 10 cent deal that can really show off your phone

Today is final day of sale
I've gotten over 20 apps out of the sale for about the cost of a cup of coffee...very nice.
I've gotten five of 'em myself. It's not as if phone apps are usually all that expensive (ever price a desktop Adobe Creative Suite package?), but it's a nice chance to explore areas I wouldn't usually look at.
I was just thinking the other day about how much money I have wasted on apps. And there have been quite a few on my behalf...
Spb shell 3d £14.99
Goto lockscreen £2.99
Air sync for dropbox £4.99
Plus others. Lol
Is there anywhere that could tell me how much money I have spent or wasted on apps?

Check you bank account is a good start.. and or Google account
Are you married...? That would do it.
not yet!!! hence being on here!!! lol
Rom Toolbox Pro.
Utterly useless. Developer fobbed me off when I made an initial support request then left me hanging after I made a subsequent request (and hinted I might have wanted a refund) & didn't get back to me/ignored me.
A very poor experience all round
LauncherPro Plus has to be one for me!
And, iSyncr for iTunes.
i do not know if you can call this waste of money but i have purchased games and they are top games like gameloft ones when they were on offer but hardly play any of them.. Captain America, Driver and etc...Just could not help myself...But do not even play them so yeah i guess that was a waste of money.... and apps like fitness manager and so on...haha me fitness....probably i see a bargain and can not resist myself..problem is even if it is a bargain i hardly use it
HDWidgets...bought it when it was on sale(10% price sale ) Complete waste of money.
I know what you mean with the 10p sale. The gameloft games are hit and miss. Numerous adw themes. That I don't use.
Although there have been some top apps that have been well worth it.
XDA premium
Smart keyboard
Chu Chu rocket
endomondo
Soundhound

Defo with the gameloft games lol. Waste of money like modern combat 2, gangsta. Best money spent is launcher pro, root explorer and xda premium.
looks like an iphone but powered by android baby!!!!
Have none of you heard of mobilism.org? :O

Shell 3d. It's a decent ui actually but just too expensive. The 3d effects get boring real fast.

I hate to say it, but supercurios app - Louder. I totally respect the guys work but it doesn't seem to do anything special for my device. Volume+ works much better for me, especially with the extra bass.

Well how the hell do you expect to be able to keep tabs on important things like spending and what to think or say when you won't invest in the basic wetware required?
Or are you running some flavour of trial version?
Shazam - the first app I purchased, just to learn that Soundhound does it better and free!
Slide it keyboard and HD widgets - bought them at the 10 billion app festival, and I'm not using it. but hey, worth the 10 cents!
Spb shell 3d
Slide it keyboard
Sleep talk recorder
Hd widget
Dungen defender

Never real spent enough on an app to worry to much - Sygic's maps are easily the most expensive, but no regrets there.
Bought a few that have never made it onto newer ROM installations - Better Keyboard (Swiftkey is so much better), adw launcher and a fewthemes (now on Go Launcher ex), App Folder Pro (unnecessary).
Shady, I'm loving Voodoo Louder, and hated volume +

Yes. Have you heard of cheap parasitic bloodsucking miserly tossers who are too tight to contribute to developers' efforts?
I like many of you love to play games when there's time to. But as I'm searching the Market (not calling it the Play Store) I find myself passing on games that although look good, I am deterred by the fact it requires in game purchases to fully enjoy the experience.
Now... I am by no means a skimper. I buy all full versions of every app on my phones. I would rather pay $20 (or whatever) up front and enjoy my experience without interruption. Am I selling myself short and missing out by not "playing and paying" or is my idea of paying a full up front fee valid? Set me straight guys/gals.....

Unfortunately thats the way games are now. Start for free, pay to keep going. Or rather free to play, pay to win.
I played Order & Chaos on iPhone and Android when my android phone did support it. Well worth paying for.
It is better for consumer to pay once. The companies can earn more by charging tiny bits at a time.

Thank you kindly for your reply. I guess I'm showing my age. LOL
I'm the "console" generation. Still used to forking out $ for "cartridges." I guess some habits are hard to break.
But your points are valid. Just depends on which side of the fence you're on..

Madman is right that is the way games are now. I only play one game that I actually make in app purchases, other than that I generally stay away from games that require in app purchases to actually make the game enjoyable. If you look hard enough though you can find some games that have the option for in app purchases but the game is still enjoyable without them.

Thanks VB. My biggest worry is that a $1 here a $1 there ads up to more than its worth for a game that may only take 30 minutes to finish. But you're right. I'm going to have to jump in and find out.
If you don't mind me asking what are you currently playing?

The game i spend on is Haypi Kingdom. There is no way to win the game so I dont have to worry about being nickle and dimed then the game is over. Thats the reason that i actually spend on it. I worry about the same thing when im looking for games because like you i dont wanna make in app purchases then the game be over.

Most free games are the ones that nickle and dime you to play....for instance pocket legends requires platinum for ingame purchases which requires real currency to get. .stuiped I know....most games that are more money upfront are the ones that are complete opposite .... some games I like are rpg... pocket legends/ pocket empires....things like that....I'm still searching for a good game for this note.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply. I'll give Haypi Kingdom and Pocket Legends a try. Cheers!

IAP is a scourge. I hate it and won't play them. Charge me one price.
In theory I totally agree Creek as I'm on the consumer side of things. But I'm going to give it a go so I can say I at least fully gave it a shot. But I hate being nickled and dimed on any level.... lol

I've checked the play store and I can't for the life of me find a decent app to control my apple TV from my phone similar to the "remote" app on iPhone and iPad. I've checked here and couldn't find it either. The apps I've checked out all require some sort of login and it really seems to be a scam. My apple TV is wirelessly attached to my network. Any way to control this that any of you know of?

I'll just wish you luck now. Apple products are not known for being compatible with anything but other Apple products. It's an intentional part of their proprietary business strategy. To make matters worse, most of the people with the brains to pull something like that off probably don't care to make it, or don't want to risk ending up in court.
Yeah that's what I keep coming up with... My wife and I both have iPads and she has an iPhone. We control the apple TV with those in our room and with my harmony one in the living room. I've never been a huge fan of their business strategy and that is why I refused to buy an iPhone. They make a nice product but they allow almost ZERO integration with anything else.

Apple tv remote app alternative for Android
You can try "Remote for Apple TV - CiderTV" app. It lets you to control 2, 3 or 4 gen Apple TV from your Android phone or tablet via WiFi. Compatible with phones without infrared support. And you do not need to jailbreak your Apple TV.
